All is not as it seems. The world of wizards is full of lies and half-truths.
Over twenty years ago, Severus Snape fell in love with Lily Evans, and he never stopped loving her. His every move, his every thought, is purely for her. And he has only one place, a room, hidden deep under the lake, where he can relax, not worry about whom he is spying on, what he should be saying and doing, where his loyalties lie. Somewhere he can reminisce about his childhood days there with Lily, to allow himself space to grieve.
That though, as with everything else, is about to change.

Wow. I spent most of this chapter with my mouth hanging on my knees. Shuch incredible twist. I really did not see that comming, though with all your foreshadowing.... Really brilliant chapter!

Thank you! I'm so pleased it came as a surprise - with every little clue I put in I sat there crossing my fingers it wouldn't give it away.
well, i admit i did not see this coming. i had been kind of wondering where the heck you were going with all of this, and now i see, i can only echo one of your other reviewers - holy crap! your ability to even imagine such twists and turns frankly amazes me. in a million years, it just never would have occurred to me to solve the problem of severus's broken heart by raising lily from the dead - but i like it. and then turning her into hermione, to boot. my hat's off to you. one thing i don't understand, though - how does lily have rose's memory of what happened in that hallway with severus, or was that not really rose after all? just wondering.

Back when that scene happened in the hallway (I can't remember which chapter now, around four I think!) Lily was watching them. Thank you so much for your kind words, they've put a big grin on my face :D The plot for this was several months in the making and the Post DH Prompt came up that I could fit it into and it dragged it all out onto the computer. I was really nervous about how it would all go down, but it seems to have worked quite well! Thanks again :D

Ok, I'm confused Severus's mom didn't want him hanging out with a muggle born witch, yet she married a muggle. Now Rose is a Death Eater, who slept with James Potter. Is this a deliberate manipulation within the story?

A lot of double-standards going on there! Then again, Voldemort is half-blood and he doesn't like mud-bloods very much ;)
