All is not as it seems. The world of wizards is full of lies and half-truths.
Over twenty years ago, Severus Snape fell in love with Lily Evans, and he never stopped loving her. His every move, his every thought, is purely for her. And he has only one place, a room, hidden deep under the lake, where he can relax, not worry about whom he is spying on, what he should be saying and doing, where his loyalties lie. Somewhere he can reminisce about his childhood days there with Lily, to allow himself space to grieve.
That though, as with everything else, is about to change.

That was so much fun. I didn't expect any of it. I kept wondering when Hermione was going to discover Lily and who would let Severus go. And then the thing with Ron caught me by surprise again. Well done!

I love the clever way you tied up this story. The DH epilogue finally makes sense to me. And answers my question of how Hermione could have stood Ron for 19 years.

Poor, poor Lily. How horrible to be so utterly isolated at school. At least she and Severus have made up, at least for the time being.

and the Award for best plot twist of all time goes to...you.wow I never saw that coming. Lily being Hermione somehow makes sense, and its been led up to beautifully. But now to see if Severus feels the same way. The poor man would need therapy for the rest of his life in the real world.

So glad I came upon this story when completed - I think I would have lost the plot with all the twists and turns if I had had to wait for the next chapter. It turned out to be the weirdest SSHG story I ever read but still very enjoyable. I noted thr 'DH compliant' but really didn't expect the sudden twists that resolved in the happy ending. Well done!
Oh man what a tangled web this chapter was - Lily is Hermione? and now Severus knows? what is to come of them all and how will Severus deal with knowing he has been lied to since day one.. Interesting idea.

I don't like I ever stated exactly when in the fic he went back to the light, but in canon it was when he heard Lily was to be killed by Voldemort, so it was then. Thank you!
