Hermione, Ginny and Luna, sharing a girl moment, decide to cast a Pairing-Plight Troth Charm on themselves for fun. Each placed in the cauldron one yesterday-today-and-tomorrow flower with sugar and spice and everything nice, and a snip, a snail and puppy-dog tail as they each said the rhyme. For Ginny, the results are exactly what she expected, and for Luna, she was only mildly surprised. However, for Hermione, the results were disastrous! She thought she’d be paired to Ron and live happily ever after. So what happened and why is she seeing Professor Snape in her dreams? He’s dead – isn’t he?

I love to write. A dreamer, a creator and filled with wonder, imagination and life. Sometimes I get lost in the other worlds I've read and in some I create. It's all good, I’m in good company.

Reviews for The Plight-Trothed Bride
Well, Lucius is being surprisingly candid and open-minded. Of course he would be in the know about Severus' parentage, but very big of him to not be a biggot. And poor Hermione. Listen to everyone's advice and find a way to get Severus to have a real conversation.
Response from beaweasley2 (Author of The Plight-Trothed Bride)
Of course he knows Severus' parentage, but he knows about the Prince family as well. Severus has some good families in his family tree, after all. Yes, she does need to sit down and talk to him - but until he's ready to do some talking, it may take a bit to get them there. Thank you for reading and for the review.
Poor Hermione and the emptiness. Of course both of them are filled with confusion and doubt. What they really need to is to have an actual conversation. Decisions like this cannot be made in a vaccum.
Response from beaweasley2 (Author of The Plight-Trothed Bride)
You are absolutely right. Thank you for reading and for the review.
Closer and closer. Everyone other than Ron seems to be willing to try to accept Hermione and Severus - of course I can understand Ron being bitter, but come on, man, you can't be that thick to see that you and Hermione are not a good couple.
Response from beaweasley2 (Author of The Plight-Trothed Bride)
It took JKR years to finally see it woudn't work between them, although in her latest she has them still married. Really you'd think he'd move one, but he knew he had it good and it was yanked out right under his feet. poor sod. Thank you for reading and for the review.
Hermione is starting to get through to Severus. She has found the right button to push, she just needs to push it a little harder. As for Rita, can I just hope, hope beyond all hope that she has finally pissed off the wrong wizard and will get her comeuppance?
Response from beaweasley2 (Author of The Plight-Trothed Bride)
Yes, she's learning how to talk to him and get him to listen. But pushing a little harder - he's still that scary teacher, snarky git, in the past, but she's coming to terms with it all too. Push - in time. Rita will get hers in time, and yes, she's angered one too many wizards. Thank you for reading and for the review.
He said I love you without prompting. <sigh>
Response from beaweasley2 (Author of The Plight-Trothed Bride)
He did. It's a huge step for him and he didn't even realize how big that was. Thank you for reading and for the review.
One step closer. Hopefully others will come forward and let the truth be heard, but kind of hard to argue against memories since even when Slughorn tried to change his, it was obvious and who would expect even this group to be able to pull something like that off.
Response from beaweasley2 (Author of The Plight-Trothed Bride)
You're right - it's hard to modify memories. The truth will be heard, it will be all right. have faith. Thank you for reading and for the review.
Seems like Severus may have underestimated Hermione a bit. So now he has to decide whether to speak for himself or be indebted to Potter. Great choice, isn't it?
Response from beaweasley2 (Author of The Plight-Trothed Bride)
He usually does, but he'll come to know her very well. She's a pistol, that witch. Yep, speak up and be indebted... no choice, it's what it is. Hope you like the trial. Thankyou for reading and for the review.
Just when things were turning around in the Snape/Hermione front, the Ministry had to get involved. Something tells me Hermione won't be too pleased about this.
Response from beaweasley2 (Author of The Plight-Trothed Bride)
No, it looks bad. At least she got to see the softer side of him before he was arrested. Thank you for reading and for the review.
Yay for engagements!Aww for KreacherRon *shakes head* Beyond time to move on buddyGreat chapter!
Response from beaweasley2 (Author of The Plight-Trothed Bride)
Yep, engagements - Maggie will be beside herself! More forms!Yes, poor Kreacher, decisions, decisions, decisions...Ron, he will. He just hasn't met the right witch yet. Thank you for reading and for the review.
Aw you made me cry happy tears. Christmas with Talfryn was great. Though Severus seriosly needs to find out who and what happened to his childhood memories.Great chapter!
Response from beaweasley2 (Author of The Plight-Trothed Bride)
I'm so glad that you liked Christmas. Yep, Talfryn is a favorite character of mine in this story, but old people can be fun to write.

It wasn't anything that happened to them, he was very very little at the time, possibly 1 or 2, maybe 3, but too young to remember. However, his mum used to read the same stories to him on their picnics - she had written them down in a journal for him from memory so Severus would have them and know the stroies she'd loved as a child.

Thank you for reading and for the review.
Response from Phyllidia (Reviewer)
Oh okay. Thanks for taking the time to tell me about the memories. I thought I had remembered something earlier in the story where he was having problems recalling something, like the memories were hidden and then in the Christmas morning chapter the fact that Hermione hid her parents memories came up. I thought this was a side story (perhaps his Uncle hid certain memories to keep Severus away from Talfryn, etc) where he was going to research Hermione's problem and end up solving his own. Thanks for setting me straight! :)

chap 38: Severus had been to the Graven's home. Draken and Ludwick Graven, Rowle, Gibbon, Thortenson, Rosier, Mulciber and Klossen had all been friends until the fall of the Dark Lord. Something had happened at the Graven's home, something that had been Obliviated from Severus' mind... that and the house is under the Fidelius. Is that what you're remembering?
Response from Phyllidia (Reviewer)
Yep that's it. I was just reading more into.
I love this story and was so happy to see an update today. I am really glad that Severus was cleared but am now feeling sorry for Hermione, she is so confused.Like someone else mentioned I wonder if her not following him to the Burrow will be interpreted by SS as a rejection?I hope Skeeter gets her come-uppance!!!!! The B*tch.
Response from beaweasley2 (Author of The Plight-Trothed Bride)
Thank you very much.Yep, I couldn't just leave him in there - that would be an awful story! Yep, Hermione is confused, and hurt.Following him? not until he - you'll see.the bug - you bet!

This is such a great fic! The story is so complex and there's so much rich detail, almost makes me feel like I'm there experiencing it with the characters rather than just reading about it. It amazes me to think that you have multiple fics going that are all of the same quality. Glad Severus is finally free. Hope Hermione gives him time to process everything before she actually says/does anything about the 'sham of a marriage'. He's never been the kind to wear his heart on his sleeve, and he did notice her and look for her after the verdict and in Kingley's office even though she didn't realize it. Can't wait to see the bug get squashed Skeeter get her due! Love this fic!!! Already wishing there was more.

Thank you so very much. wow I really appreciate the compliment. I couldn't leave him in - that would be a terrible story. He's more fun free. and yes, they both need to talk things out. Don't worry - I'm not done yet.

Great chapter! I'm a little broken hearted for Hermione. You'd think Snape would be a little more thankful to her for all she did. Looking foward to seeing what happens next.

I'm happy for him, but so sad for her. I hope they talk, or someone *cough harry or ginny cough* goes to tell him off for making her cry and ends up talking to him...lol
Great story, amazing chapter, can't wait for more! :)
Response from beaweasley2 (Author of The Plight-Trothed Bride)
I know aren't I terrible! But I'm not done with them yet... working on the 'get things together again' part. Thank you for the compliment.

i was just thinking about this story last night, so was very happy to find the update this morning. and what a great update it is! what with severus finally (finally!) being acquitted and all the aftermatch. i liked how you handled the verdict - very well done. so hermione is giving up for now. and severus doesn't know what to do, but if she doesn't show up at the burrow, i'm thinking that will push him into a decision because he'll figure she's rejected him, so what to do - i'm guessing, reject back even harder. i'll happily ride on whatever roller coaster you have planned for them, because i have faith that you'll get them to a happy ending eventually. : )

Thank you so very much. I really appreciate your compliments. wow. Yes, I needed to switch wands on them in order to get them right where I wanted them to be. Thank you for the faith in me!

Poor Hermione! She really shouldn't take anything to heart right now. Severus has been in Azkaban and expected to stay there. He is confused and a bit overwhelmed. Hopefully she will realize that and give him the chance to process everything.
Response from beaweasley2 (Author of The Plight-Trothed Bride)
Don't worry, things are bleak, but not unsalavagable. They both need to talk. talk would be good I thnk...

I was so thrilled to find this update this morning, and in time for me to read it before going to the hospital to sit with a family member. The hospital has wifi but won't allow me into TPP because it's registered as an adult site. (sigh)Oh, this was a wonderful chapter. The way you had the final court decision read was perfect, and I'm so happy Hermione flew into Severus's arms and wept on his shoulder--And now I'm just aching for her. Oh my, this hurts.I hope you update soon.
Response from beaweasley2 (Author of The Plight-Trothed Bride)
Thank you. I sincerely hope your family member is all right? I'm glad I didn'thave to write a trial, this worked so well. I'm glad you liked it. Don't worry - I'm nt done yet. besides I had to switch he wand on them, didn't I?

Yay Snape!!!!!! Three cheers for our hero! And a pat on the head for the Wizangamot for doing the right thing. I do hope Hermione doesn't do anything rash. Fab chappy as always. Look forward to the next one! :D
Response from beaweasley2 (Author of The Plight-Trothed Bride)
Thank you! Yep, there was no way I was gonna leave him in Azkaban! Unfortunatelly - they might both do something rash... or at least think about it.

Ah nothing like decluttering to dredge up old memories. Poor Sev. And flowers on his bed to boot. And throw pillows. (I'm with Severus on what a bed needs)
Response from beaweasley2 (Author of The Plight-Trothed Bride)
Yes, well, he knew that this was goign to happen eventually. He took it very well. course, there is a ulteriour reason - if she makes it her home too, she'll live there. With him. and maybe sleep in the bed. For that, he'll tollerate a few flowers and extra pillows, as long as no one knows they are there. Ginny may have to make an Unbreakable Vow. Thank you for reading and for the review.
Response from Phyllidia (Reviewer)
That made me laugh.
