Hermione, Ginny and Luna, sharing a girl moment, decide to cast a Pairing-Plight Troth Charm on themselves for fun. Each placed in the cauldron one yesterday-today-and-tomorrow flower with sugar and spice and everything nice, and a snip, a snail and puppy-dog tail as they each said the rhyme. For Ginny, the results are exactly what she expected, and for Luna, she was only mildly surprised. However, for Hermione, the results were disastrous! She thought she’d be paired to Ron and live happily ever after. So what happened and why is she seeing Professor Snape in her dreams? He’s dead – isn’t he?

I love to write. A dreamer, a creator and filled with wonder, imagination and life. Sometimes I get lost in the other worlds I've read and in some I create. It's all good, I’m in good company.
“Imagination does not become great until human beings, given the courage and the strength, use it to create.”― Maria Montessori
“Our imagination flies -- we are its shadow on the earth.”― Vladimir Nabokov
“Imagination is everything. It is the preview of life's coming attractions.”― Albert Einstein
“Imagination will often carry us to worlds that never were, but without it we go nowhere.” ― Carl Sagan

I love your story. Thanks for another great chapter. Sometimes I want to wring Snape's neck for being so difficult, but that's just him. I'm looking forward to seeing where you go with this story.

Thank you very much. I've just sent the next one off to Ansev to have a thorough going over. However, I expect a lot of red... and things to clean up. *shrugs*
Sometimes I really hate the Malfoys. Really.
Response from beaweasley2 (Author of The Plight-Trothed Bride)
Sorry. But I borrowed them for a reason. They are serving my purpose at the moment.
Well, I don't know about "canon" but I never did think JKR did our potion master justice; tho the implication was Severus was doing his best to protect the students. Hopefully, Severus realizes that everyone is trying to help and he gets his head out of his arse and everyone lives happily ever after (but that will be up to you beaweasley2)
Response from beaweasley2 (Author of The Plight-Trothed Bride)
Well I will humbly bow to the challenge.... wait! I think already typed that part. Sorry, I seem to be typing faster than I'm getting these cleaned up and presentable! But I've already sent the next chap to my beta - so we are working on that one.
I think the gossip who started this whole mess for Hermione got off awfully easily. Not even a reprimand. I think her punishment should fit the crime - perhaps being struck mute for 5 years. It certainly is hard to figure out what Severus wants. Is he just extremely conflicted or is he still suffering from his injuries?
Response from beaweasley2 (Author of The Plight-Trothed Bride)
Oh, no just wait! The problem is that I'm still using her! She gets a bit more 'punishment' later. How about fired! oops. And once Snape meets her - Cockatiel - mockingbird? I mean, Hermione isn't going to let him go back to Azkaban for killing her once she gets him out, is she? TeeheheheSeverus is under the impression he's doomed to stay in Azkaban... and Darthmyer and Lerman are trying to keep him there, and Goldstein, while trying to figure out everything he'll have to defend Severus against, all his misdeeds and Death Eater cativities is giving Severus the same impression. So, he still feels that the trial is a farce. Sorry, but I only implied and didn't give the details. Sorry.

Don't be sorry. The story is better when everything is not spelled out explicitly and there are multiple motivations for the character's actions. Great story!
I continue to adore this story! A wonderful chapter!
Response from beaweasley2 (Author of The Plight-Trothed Bride)
Thank you very much.
Oh, Severus is a sneaky little thing, asking her to stay the night with no ulterior motive, but surely knowing he would win her over.I liked the scene on the Quidditch pitch. I don't specifically know why, but I guess it was nice to see her just having fun as a teenager should, for once.I have to agree with Hermione about wanting to dress alone, even if he has seen it all before. I feel the same way, LOL!Severus was really bold to ask (demand?) her to wear a corset. But it turned out for the best, so he is off the hook. And just when I start to think he is being too harsh with Hermione, he goes and tells her he is sorry she missed her friends. It may have pained him a little, but it was a nice gesture.I look forward to what the holidays bring.
Response from beaweasley2 (Author of The Plight-Trothed Bride)
Yes, he's a sneaky one. But then she can't really resist his charms. Not any more. I'm glad that you liked the Quidditch scene, I thought she needed some interactions with her freinds and some fun. I know, right. It's one thing to undress for sex - quite another to change clothes in front of someone. The corset was a strongly suggested insistance. But yes, it helped. Wonder how HE knew it would be more comfortable for her to wear it? lol He is learning to show his vulnerable side, and expose his emotions, and that's hard for him. But he is a nice guy down deep. Thank you for reading and for the review. Hugs,

Aww ... *hugs you right back*And now that you mention it, I think we're going to need a side story, complete with flashback, to see just how Severus does know the corset would be more comfortable. That story line could get out of hand quickly. *is hopeful* LOL.

can't wait for more...
Response from beaweasley2 (Author of The Plight-Trothed Bride)
Thank you. I'm working on that!
in your story's universe, has hermione been to malfoy manor before? like when she was being tortured? or did that not happen?
Response from beaweasley2 (Author of The Plight-Trothed Bride)
In this story universe the first chapter which opens with the trio shopping in Weasley’s Wizarding Wheezes and Flourish and Blotts, before returning to Grimmauld Place takes place fairly close to the end of their sixth year, approximately the end of June, giving Harry a brief stay at the Dursleys. He wasn’t seventeen yet, the seven Harry charade didn’t happen, and Hermione missed Bill and Fleur’s wedding. So no – book seven is nearly tossed out in this story. Ron is Harry’s back up, (along with someone else which may surprise you – but I haven’t revealed yet) Hermione is obviously at Hogwarts, as is Ginny, Neville, Luna and Seamus… and her circle is going to grow a bit more. (oops! shouldn’t have said that!) Yes, Lucius tortured her, but she has vague memories of that because Severus altered them for her so she wouldn’t have to remember the worst stuff.Hope that clarifies things.
Oh dear, Ron. What have you done? Hermione will never forgive him for this.
Response from beaweasley2 (Author of The Plight-Trothed Bride)
Teehehe Yes, he stuck his foot in it!Hermione will have other concerns for a while - she now has a campaigne!
talk about an evil cliffie!! i think you've got him quite right...after all the two masters he had to please this would seem like a form of bondage and he would be angry. but there is hope, i know! thanks so much and i look forward to more.
Response from beaweasley2 (Author of The Plight-Trothed Bride)
Yes, I had to cut somewhere! You've got the gist of him as I've deplicted it. Yes, there is hope, only we've a hurdle to get over... You are very welcome and thank you for the lovely review.
I really hope they'll work it out, because I just don't like Severus right now.But I like the overall plot you've developed for this. Keep updating!gab
Response from beaweasley2 (Author of The Plight-Trothed Bride)
I know Severus is down right a prick here. But just as things cuold have started to turn around - I get him arrested. I'm just not being fair. Next chpater will be in asap. I poromise.
Stupid fucking Ron. I'm glad he at least is smart enough to feel guilty. Again, Snape... yuck. But what's worse... is Hermione. Why does she take it and say nothing about his abuse? At least Malfoy's talking sense into the git.
Response from beaweasley2 (Author of The Plight-Trothed Bride)
Well, Ron simply mouthed off and was overheard by Darthmyer. He had to coperate. Besides, Rita was already telling the Aurors everything. Yes, Snape is still being a prick. Hermione is being told by everyone, Luna, Gin, George that things will work out - so she is just trying to make the best of the situation, hoping that they will get better. She'll start standing up to him eventually. Yes, Lucius - I wanted Severus to have a'voice of reason' from a friend and someone who could give it to him bluntly, without getting hexed. He's ready made!Thank you for the reveiw. I like that you're teling me what you think.
Response from Southern_Witch_69 (Reviewer)
I'm glad she'll start standing up to him. I wish she'd at least mouth off or something. Snerk. Oh, you know me, always honest. haha
Love Drunk Hermione. Glad she "rebelled" against him. Snape is taking some chances, isn't he? I kind of feel sorry for Ron a little. :( Heartbreaking for him.
Response from beaweasley2 (Author of The Plight-Trothed Bride)
You are the first to feel sorry for Ron. Yep, both of them drunk and sappy... Glad George intervined. Yes, Snape is taking chances - she is his witch and she didn't show up as he planned. Thank you for the reveiw.
I really dislike Snape. He's a bit childish in his anger, isn't he? I enjoyed the part at the Burrow though, but I dislike that Skeeter got off so easy. Bitch
Response from beaweasley2 (Author of The Plight-Trothed Bride)
At his point Snape is being an awful prat - yes, childish. I actually had male input about his actions/reactions and according to my boyfriend it's spot on. I mean she did entrap him in this. Skeeter will get hers... but she's some trouble to brew up first. I needed her around.
Response from Southern_Witch_69 (Reviewer)
I know other men who'd beg to differ. :) But there were are.
I liked the first part. Hahah... the truth comes out! Yuck. Snape's such an asshole in this chapter. He's not minded his nasty wet dreams and the shag the previous night, and now he acts like he can't be bothered to give his partner pleasure. Yuck. I hate that she's acting so... un-Hermione about it.
Response from beaweasley2 (Author of The Plight-Trothed Bride)
Yes, he's angry and taking his entrapment out on Hermione. Hermione is mostly confused by his behavior. She doens't know what to do about it or why he's so different, still hoping he be like in the dreams.
I liked the girls getting togehter and chatting things out like that. cute. I love the part about the Ministry lady. haha
Response from beaweasley2 (Author of The Plight-Trothed Bride)
Isn't that what gilrfriends do? Chat things out. The girl talk was fun to do. And Maggie - oh, she'll be back!Thank you for your reveiw.
I liked the part with Harry and the others in this chapter. I think his reaction was plausible.
Response from beaweasley2 (Author of The Plight-Trothed Bride)
Thank you very much.
Hermione comes across as very naive. I'm enjoying the story and the lemons are okay, but there are just so many of them. I've always found too many many makes for sour lemonade. Haha.. Spread them out, add a bit of sugar and water with them. :)
Response from beaweasley2 (Author of The Plight-Trothed Bride)
Yes, Hermione while bookish isn't really up on the reality of it all. As for the lemons - You'll probably like the later chapters better. (I hope) Thank you for reviewing
good start. i enjoy this prompt
Response from beaweasley2 (Author of The Plight-Trothed Bride)
Thank you very much, SW. I thought it had potential.
Corsets! I can understand why Hermione's response to seeing Severus holding the corset would have been, “You expect me to wear that?” At least wearing it helped her remain upright in her chair during the concert at the Burke's boring Christmas party. I liked the way Hermione worked her way through why she shouldn't be upset that Severus had her clothes moved to the Headmaster's quarters. Sometimes we become so used to "defending" our decisions that we immediately react a certain way. I'm glad she has learned to examine her thoughts and consider that perhaps her initial reactions don't always apply to every situation.I can't wait to find out what Hermione discovers in the library. With all the ingreadients available to create potions, I'm sure that there are a couple that might have slipped through Severus and Reginald's "memory" fingers. Or maybe there's a little known way of preparing or mixing a combination of seeds that creates a unique effect.Great chapter, Bea. And thank for your interesting and informative Author's Notes.Beth
Response from beaweasley2 (Author of The Plight-Trothed Bride)
Yep, he wanted her to wear a corset! I agree, u=but propperly fitted they can be comfortable (in a stiff rigid sort of way) Yes, this time she stopped to think. and yes, it's good that she did. Oh that one last elusive ingredient. It will be solved, it's a matter of who will discover it. lol I hope that why it's eluded them tickles your funny bone, in a sort of way. You are most welcome, my friend. Thank you for reading and for the review.
hummm still writing this i see, how many chapters long is this? i liked the party, is this story going on 2 yrs? ive lost track.
Response from beaweasley2 (Author of The Plight-Trothed Bride)
LOL dunno. Thank you for reading and for the review.
Oh! Evil cliffie! More?
Response from beaweasley2 (Author of The Plight-Trothed Bride)
Sorry, but I had to stop somewhere. Yes, there is more...
i loved this chapter!and I think that the Ministry will barely be left standing after Hermione is through with them. i'm sure the Malfiys won't be too happy with the Aurors and Ron for landing their friend in custody
Response from beaweasley2 (Author of The Plight-Trothed Bride)
Thank you very much.I expect that the 'what's hapening at thte ministry' will then really surprise you. The Malfoy's will have thier own troubles, will feel sorry but they are Death Eaters too.
Ron is in for a world of hurt when Hermione and/or Sev get their hands on him! The irony is that Sev will probably blame Herminoe for getting him arrested, and then they'll be back at square one vis-a-vis their nascent relationship.
Response from beaweasley2 (Author of The Plight-Trothed Bride)
Yes, an angry Hermione is to be feared, but Harry, Gin and Luna they...Yes, Severus does believe that she did - at first...
argh!!! wicked cliffhanger!! and I am so mad that they let Rita go in the first place without casting a solid Obliviate to erase her memories of their conversation about Snape. Ron is still a git and deserves to be hexed. I'm glad Lucius and Cissa are still trying to be friends. thanks for the new chapter - now please update soon so we can be relieved of this cliffie!
Response from beaweasley2 (Author of The Plight-Trothed Bride)
Er, thank you. Well, yes, Rita overheard teh Aurors, and spied under Ginny's window - but she also must have been on the garden gate, but she was hanging around the Burrow as a bug. So even if someone cast an Oblivate when she entered the Burrow when Gin caught her, there were times no one knew she was around. So, Yes, Ron is acting like a spurned imature prat, I'll fix him. I hope to update soon.
