Hermione, Ginny and Luna, sharing a girl moment, decide to cast a Pairing-Plight Troth Charm on themselves for fun. Each placed in the cauldron one yesterday-today-and-tomorrow flower with sugar and spice and everything nice, and a snip, a snail and puppy-dog tail as they each said the rhyme. For Ginny, the results are exactly what she expected, and for Luna, she was only mildly surprised. However, for Hermione, the results were disastrous! She thought she’d be paired to Ron and live happily ever after. So what happened and why is she seeing Professor Snape in her dreams? He’s dead – isn’t he?

I love to write. A dreamer, a creator and filled with wonder, imagination and life. Sometimes I get lost in the other worlds I've read and in some I create. It's all good, I’m in good company.

“Imagination does not become great until human beings, given the courage and the strength, use it to create.”― Maria Montessori
“Our imagination flies -- we are its shadow on the earth.”― Vladimir Nabokov
“Imagination is everything. It is the preview of life's coming attractions.”― Albert Einstein

“Imagination will often carry us to worlds that never were, but without it we go nowhere.” ― Carl Sagan

Convenient that great-grandfather is ill.  Perhaps Severus will end up with a modest four bedroom Georgian country home for his bride?I think this is a beautifully woven story.  Not predictable.  Not smooth sailing.I wonder if Severus will realize how bad it is for Hermione to be the thing that is obsessed over rather than a person that is cared for.  I wonder if he even realizes that he is treating her badly.Good for Hermione to stand up for herself and not accept his abuse as affection!!!!

Response from beaweasley2 (Author of The Plight-Trothed Bride)

We'll see. He is an old fart at this point - being his great-grandfather and all. I still have a way to go with their relationship (as if you can't tell) and a few more surprises. Yes, expect Hermione to stand up to Severus a bit more, although, she will have to learn how to handle him better...Thank you so much for the sweet compliments, I really appreciate them.

So glad for the update. They just can't quite seem to manage to communicate.  I can just imagine Snape's response at this one!

Response from beaweasley2 (Author of The Plight-Trothed Bride)

Thank you. Yep, they are still tugging on the rope, so to speak. at least they are still tugging. Thank you for the review.

Why do I think things are about to get even messier? Thanks for the update. What is she going to do about school and being married to the headmaster?

Response from beaweasley2 (Author of The Plight-Trothed Bride)

Because it's what I do. Student/Headmaster relations will be 'discused' and arrangements made. Actually I have a few surprises lined up. Hermione gets a shocking lunch invitation. Severus takes Hermione home and gets more than one surprise. This si what I'm cooking up - and what will happen. You are most welcome for the update. I'm glad you liked it.

A wonderful chapter. I'm so glad to see more of this story again, and hope to see more soon!

Response from beaweasley2 (Author of The Plight-Trothed Bride)

Thank you very much. I'm busy working on the next one!  So I hope to get it to my beta sometime in the week or so. Thank you for the review.

Wow.  Very original and, ahem, wow.  Only one thing - there haven't been beavers in the UK since the sixteenth century, so it would have to be a magical beaver pond. What we do have in the south of England is dew ponds, which are circular man-made ponds in dry places like downland, for watering livestock.  They're not very deep, though, and might be a bit muddy...

Response from beaweasley2 (Author of The Plight-Trothed Bride)

Oh. Oops... Can I get away with this for now? Maybe creative license or something, chalk it up to being a bit missinformed? Or maybe it's an old beaver pond - had been one centuries years ago? Dunno... But IF I have our couple in the pond again, I'll fix it...

Response from Persevero (Reviewer)

Ooh yes, more ponds please!

Response from beaweasley2 (Author of The Plight-Trothed Bride)

Sorry, a huge bed - twice, a table and a bench-like cot, a stool, a rickety old bed.... That's as far as I've typed so far...

Response from Persevero (Reviewer)

Gosh...

Well, Severus didn't appear very upset. Apparently he had an inkling of an idea of what she might have cast. Can men cast the Pairing-Plight Betrothal Charm? It sounded like the ministry thought Severus had cast that spell. Why would they think he would do that, other than that he's supposedly evil? I wouldn't think of Severus as romantic. ;)I wonder what is going to happen now that all three couples are Bonded. Will Severus be sent to Azkaban, I wonder. Anyway, I look forward to the next chapter!

Response from beaweasley2 (Author of The Plight-Trothed Bride)

Severus wasn’t as upset because he was still under the influence of the spell’s magic. Unfortunately, expect a grudge f**king in the next chapter… sorry. But he’s going to react like a guy would.   On the second question, Ms. Maggie Whitmire is the one who stated to the Aurors that Severus cast the spell but her ledger only said that Severus Snape and Hermione Granger are Bonded. She presumed and assumed… like any old bitty might that loves gossip – you’ll see…  As so far as men casting the spell? Dunno – doesn’t seem like the kind of spell a guy would do – it’s rather girlish, don’t you think? There may be other spells – match-making spells that the guy (Ron maybe) could do.  So as far as what will happen – follow along and I’ll eventually let you know… Okay, back to typing.

yikes! I sure hope the Aurors don't try to kill him on sight.  Well, at least Maggie's note didn't accuse Severus of casting the charm - only consummating the bonding.  Thanks for updating!

Response from beaweasley2 (Author of The Plight-Trothed Bride)

You are quite welcome. No Maggie Whitmire’s letter is a modified form letter sent to anyone – or any couple – who has a Bonding. As for the Aurors – I have other plans for Severus and being killed on sight by an Auror isn’t on my list. However, I do plan on taking him on and having a bit of fun with him… the poor guy.

Response from June W (Reviewer)

Why would she think that Severus cast the spell. Nice consummation, by the way. I could think of worse things than Snape for the rest of my life.

Response from beaweasley2 (Author of The Plight-Trothed Bride)

I hope I got the characterization of Maggie Whitmire as the ‘ittle bitty who is the gossip queen of the Ministry down? If not I didn’t do a very good job of it. I’ll bring that out better later… She got her facts wrong! And obviously didn’t think Hermione would cast the spell to entrap Snape!

I’m glad you like the consummation, more consummation of the Bonding will occur… plenty of it. Hope you don’t mind?

I love it.  In this chapter you put "the same night Severus Snape had cast one on Hermione Granger...."  but I thought she cast one on him?  And will poor Ron get a girl/guy too?

Response from beaweasley2 (Author of The Plight-Trothed Bride)

AH, yes, poor Maggie Whitmire, doesn’t exactly have all the facts now does she – but she does seem to love gossip… Witches like her can cause all kinds of mischief can’t they?

And, well, Ron…. Dunno yet haven’t typed that part yet. Should I?

Response from Arabella Bloodgood (Reviewer)

oh I see what you are saying now.  I so get it.  As for Ron,  I would love to see him gay with someone like Seamus.  lol  I think that would be funny.  And definitly would shock the rest of the Weasleys.  Especially his mother.  I can just see his mother crying "But then you can't give me grandchildren.  BooWho."  lol  But its your story and you don't have to give him anybody if you don't want to.  It's cool.  Either way  I still love the story.

dun dun dun.... hee hee.. So wonder what will become of Severus now? He must have known that the consumation would be registered or recorded somehow. Hope he's ready to face the public, and Hermione as well for that matter.

Response from beaweasley2 (Author of The Plight-Trothed Bride)

Yes, Severus does know the repercussions and the extent of the spells consequences. But he’s a sly one… As for Hermione, time to face up little girl – you’ve got Severus and he’s a handful…

Response from beaweasley2 (Author of The Plight-Trothed Bride)

Is this the hurdle - or will the next one be the hurdle? He will summon her and he will want his due – won’t he? This time he was still under the effects of the spell – as the spell drove him to consummate and seal the magic. Next time – well, you’ll see.

I have good news, my beta already has the next chapter. So as soon as I get it back all circled and crossed out in red ink I can fix, revise, correct and edit – then post! So there is more to come. Just got to clean it up some frist.

Very good start of the story. You wrote smoothly from Harry's tale to the girls moment. Luna's character is canon and its good thing because I like her not-so-concerned-but-so-insightful-character (pardon me so long word).

I liked also Hermione's character, she's doubtful and thoughtful but decide to give a try for the soul mate test.

I admit that I expected from the girls' reaction going to be "Snape! But that's horrid!" etc when they realized that Hermione's soul mate is Severus.

And of course I liked your hot-steaming intercourse scenes of both parties. You wrote them artfully and it was good thing to wrote what Severus and Hermione experienced. Now I'm waiting for face-to-face scene anxiously.

About the Ministry: is it going to announce the engagement news in the Prophet? If that's going to happen then I can't wait for Molly's reaction for the news that Hermione won't end up with her little Ronniekins!

Response from beaweasley2 (Author of The Plight-Trothed Bride)

Thank you for the nice review. I am trying to keep everyone in canon as much as possible and your compliment was nice to read.

With the girl’s reactions, they believe in the Moon-Song spell and thus their reactions are more like – ‘Well, if it matched her to him, then they are meant to be.’ This gets explained later – I promise. And all reactions will follow… Happy reading!

That's an interesting twist, with the Ministry thinking he cast the charm, and not the other way around. I haven't reviewed before, but know that I am waiting anxiously for each new chapter.

Well, thank you for typing in. I appreciate each and every review very much.

Yes, I have Ms. Maggie Whitmire as the ‘ittle-bitty gossip gal of the Ministry (or one of) and no she didn’t get her facts straight did she? She assumed! (ass-u-me-d)

Well, Severus doesn't seem that upset with Hermione's action, though having sex can help in bending a man's mind ;) What will make things difficult will be the Aurors tracking him down, I think. And of course, there's the suspicion that it's Severus who cast the Charm on her, and not the other way around. Prejudices...

Response from beaweasley2 (Author of The Plight-Trothed Bride)

Thank you for the review. Do keep in mind that this joining is still under the magic of the Moon-Song spell. Yes it’s for real, and yes, he’s not as mad, yet, as he could be… Yes, the Ministry, and Ron and – well, you’ll see.

Interesting to know the Osgood connections. I am ready to smack Hermione upside the head for putting her mate on the back burner and being so carefree with her male classmates. Especially after Lucius explained the nuiances of Wizarding Society. I understand her fear and Severus is certainly to blame for treating her shabbily. However,

Response from beaweasley2 (Author of The Plight-Trothed Bride)

I know, but at times my Hermione-muse isn't cooperating anymore than my Severus-muse was before. But I'm working with them! However, the incident in the Entrance Hall was innocent--they just went outside to talk, that's all, really. Tow of the boys are her homework partners. Blume putting his hand on her back- a polite gesture, nothing more. The same when she leaned on him as he helped her to the hospital wing, he was only helping her. But yes, Hermione behaves like a Muggle when it comes to boys, not a pure-blood elite. Thank you for reading and for the reviews. I hope you like what comes next. lol

I adore your explanation for how a baby phoenix is made and born! Aideen is the perfect name.  But I have difficulty imagining Dumbedore crying to make enough tears for a phoenix.  Still not sure about those 1,000 seeds, but now all four of them understand more about how to uncover the secrets.Glad Severus planned in advance to have the others fend off Rita, Brilhilda, and Maggie.  His helpers - and Fang - all deserve something nice.Thank you for the new chapter!!

Response from beaweasley2 (Author of The Plight-Trothed Bride)

Thank you. I read somewhere that Fawkes stayed with DD because he carried such deep sadness and guilt over his sister's death. So I played on that. I"m certian that alone and when he let his guard down, DD did cry over the anguish he felt over the thought he killed his sister.   The seeds, coming up in a while, but the reason it alludes them will make you snicker.  He's a protector at heart. Thank you for reading and for the review. Fang got a nice steak from Mispy.
