Hermione, Ginny and Luna, sharing a girl moment, decide to cast a Pairing-Plight Troth Charm on themselves for fun. Each placed in the cauldron one yesterday-today-and-tomorrow flower with sugar and spice and everything nice, and a snip, a snail and puppy-dog tail as they each said the rhyme. For Ginny, the results are exactly what she expected, and for Luna, she was only mildly surprised. However, for Hermione, the results were disastrous! She thought she’d be paired to Ron and live happily ever after. So what happened and why is she seeing Professor Snape in her dreams? He’s dead – isn’t he?

I love to write. A dreamer, a creator and filled with wonder, imagination and life. Sometimes I get lost in the other worlds I've read and in some I create. It's all good, I’m in good company.

Great chapter. I'm wondering how Hermione feels about being bonded for life. After-all, that part of the spell seemed as much as a surprise to her. There is going to be some trials before they both come to an acceptance, I'm guessing.

Oh you will find out exactly how she feels about being Bonded to Severus for the rest of her life. And oh yeah, there will be trials, ups, downs, plummets, climbing... you name it! Hint: I have a psy degree and I'm suing it on this piece, Sev's and 'Mione's personal therapist. Hope you enjoy the ride. Thank you for the review, happy reading.
He should have thought of his jealous nature when allowing her to attend all those balls. but it's so nice to see him possessive of her. I take the opportunity to wish all the best for this New Year.
Response from beaweasley2 (Author of The Plight-Trothed Bride)
LOL The formal parties of the Social elite there wasn't anyone to be jealous of - He knew those people would not be a 'threat' and most of the men would have had laldies or wives with them. What he hadn't forseen was Hermione knowing the Quidditch players (he might have remembered she was friendly with Krum, but that had been over years ago, right?) and that they'd still be friends with his Hermione. So, he tried his best. Plus, I think he doesn't realize that many of those who were 'betrayed' or realted to people who were, wouldn't really be social with im if they still held a grudge, they'd have politely avoided him, so you also see his self-incrimination because he is being quite contrite, isn't he. He's more accepted than he sees - Hermione has remarked on it. Yep, he is possessive though, he loves her and is still worried about losing her. Happy New Year to you as well. I hope it was nice. I do hope 2013 is a wonderful year for you and yours and full of happyiness and wonderful surprises - the good kind. Thank you for reading and for the review.

Great chapter. Very interesting conversation with VK. I was glad to see Severus talk to Hermione and get his point across with out spoiling things too much. He just needs lots of love and attention. :D

I'm delighted that you enjoyed the chapter, and Viktor's conversation with Hermione. Yes, it's good they were able to talk things out It will help with what happens once they go back to Hogwarts and she discovers what he's done. lol Yep, he needs lots of love and attention. Thank you for reading and for the review.

YOu are most welcome. I have 2 more in queue. Thank you very much. She's taking contraception potion, I just haven't shown it since earlier on in the story. The one Severus showed her. Thank you for reading and for the review.
First and foremost, I absolutely adored the description of the Hoenix nest -- and the process used to "procure" little Aideen. T was quite spellbinding. Of course, the developments in Severus and Hermiobe's relationship is heartening -- as is his growing respect for her. I didn't miss the oblque insult that she'd probably only found wht she had in an obscure reference book -- instead of possibly figuring out something on her own. Excellent update!
Response from beaweasley2 (Author of The Plight-Trothed Bride)
Thankyou, Aideen's birth was fun to research and writte. I love Talfryn, I'm glad you do too. Yes, well, she did actually, only it was his and some deductive reasoning. Thank you for reading and for the review.
This is such an in-depth story! You have put so much research and imagination into this tale. It is an amazing fic :)Livvy

Thank you very much, I try. Thank you for reading and for the review.
Well, it looks like things are getting better for the two of them. I really liked how he explained the way her mind worked. And it was great that she and Ginny contributed something other than wand cores, proving that fresh eyes and minds do help.
Response from beaweasley2 (Author of The Plight-Trothed Bride)
Yes, well, he does know her--he was her teacher for six years. Both Ginny and Hermione are bright intelligent girls, if not young, so of course they can contribute to the project. Thank you for reading and for the review.
Hehe... I can't wait to see how Hermione reacts when she realizes Severus is alive!
Great story so far. I am really enjoying it!
Response from beaweasley2 (Author of The Plight-Trothed Bride)
Shock, bewildered, and a twinge of .... but did you really expect me to answer that?I'm very happy that you are enjoying this story. My beta has the next chapter so I'll get it in once she tells me I've corrected all my comma and typo mistakes!
well that was one hellva bath! Lucky Hermione! I really enjoyed all the back story & "world building" around your spell and the rituals. Well done!
Response from beaweasley2 (Author of The Plight-Trothed Bride)
Well thank you very much. I wanted to have a little plot and story with my lemons after all.
If I had to guess, I'd say Snape is going to FREAK! One thing I really wanna know is, was the spell Dark at all or is it just girls messing with something they didn't fully understand? Don't most Dark spells require intent? (I'm really not sure there.) Like Crucio, requires hatred to cast correctly . . . just thought I'd toss my two cents in there. Wonderful and HOT!!
Response from beaweasley2 (Author of The Plight-Trothed Bride)
Very good guess, but he isn’t going to freak. He knows it’s a spell and recognizes the affect, he just hasn’t yet found the right one in the Malfoy library (or he had and disregarded it thinking Hermione wouldn’t have used it.) Either way, Snape is going to react like my boyfriend said he would…
As for the spell, it’s a binding plight betrothal enchantment, although it’s use is considered as Dark by some (the guys who get ensnared and the pureblood parents that freak when their daughters are suddenly bonded to a Muggle born or half blood.) It’s an enchantment spell, not necessarily like Crucio. However, when you wake up and realize that you’ve been seduced and ensnared by a girl you don’t know well, or don’t necessarily want to be married to (Bonded) it would seem like a curse.
Hope that clarifies.
Thank you for the review – I’m very glad you like the story.
LOL @ the idea of Lucius sitting there when Severus woke up from his hot dream. I can't wait to find out their reactions to each other when they meet. I'm loving this.
Response from beaweasley2 (Author of The Plight-Trothed Bride)
Yeah, naughty host, invading on his friend's privacy. lol Oh it will be hwat and then... well, it is Severus Snape. I'm really glad you are enjoying the story, but you're in for a bumpy, rocky, twisting, and backsliding road. hang on. Thank you very much for the review.
Your description of Malfoy Manor took my breath away. (Yes, I had to google Buckingham Palace to get an idea of what it looked like.)=====“I thought that things were going better,” Lucius said as he rolled his wedding band around on his finger casually while watching the girl and his son dance. “Rumor is that the girl wears a ring.”
Leave it to Lucius to know how to be subtle and still call attention to something.=====I felt so sorry for Severus. Ya know, I can honestly understand how he would have felt left out seeing Hermione dancing with so many men. But that's just me, and I'm an old fart so maybe I'm just being old fashioned. However, he could have cut in a few times and said he wanted to dance with his fiancé. Both of them have a lot of "relationship learning' to catch up on, don't they? I hope they have a good night together, and a better day tomorrow.=====I wonder if Hermione will tell Severus (and Ginny, Harry, and Ron) about what Viktor discovered about Tom Riddle and the two boys –Boyko Vujanović and Dimitar Mihaylov – who introduced him to Professor Lewgorski. Even though Riddle killed all three of them, there may be members of their families living in England who would love to take revenge on Severus for turning against the Dark Lord. He had to spell it out for Hermione: "Did it not occur to you that many of the people in that room are related to people that I betrayed and abandoned?” =====I'm Looking forward to the next update, and perhaps some wedding planning. Beth

Beth, Happy New Year.I'm delighted that you like the way I described the manor.I googled palaces and manors too when thinking it through and drew a sort of floor plan before typing. I'm glad that you enjoyed it - it makes the effort worth it.Lucius is so much fon in this story, and yes, he's subtle. lolI know, but it was a ball, and he was aware that she'd dance. It's good that they talked about his feelings and remained somewhat rational. It will really help with the next obsticle. (he did move her stuff remember?)I haven't written it, but it's possible. Good idea. Thank you. As for the revenge thing, there are still Death Eater's out there (I have a list) and they are being dealt with.More is coming. Thank you for your review and sticking with me on this one.

I feel bad for not reviewing more. I've spent the past 3 days engrossed in this fic. It is not at all what I expected... I'm not sure what I thought this story was about (a light hearted, smut driven romp maybe), but my opinion now versus what it was at the outset is completely different. I love character driven thrill rides and this delivers in spades.
Response from beaweasley2 (Author of The Plight-Trothed Bride)
Don't feel bad about reviewing - this one does the job quite nicely! YOu read it all in 3 days - that's amazing and quite flattering and I'm honored. I'm happy that you chose to read my fic and delighted with your comments. Thank you. Oh, there is ups and downs, and few sideways and I don't mean just the lemons! and a few limes. This is a phsychological piece and I'm 'playing' therapist with tow very different people who are in two very different staged in their lives, who happen to be magically Bonded. I know Hermione is immature at times in this - but she's only 19 and wants to finsh school, and if Severus could only be a boyfriend for a while... yeah, right, she'd be perfectly happy to shag him once in a while.(Never mind he was a complete arse in the beginning.Severus on the other hand is a 39 male and he is now (after being a royal git and abusive for the first half of the Bonding - let alone her earlier school years) is now ready to settle down and be married - er, well, Bonded. And he's so Goood at communication - NOT! Not that she's any better... but now you know what I'm doing with this story.Of, and there are Death Eaters out there, Dragen in particular, who'd like nothing more than to make Severus suffer and killing Hermione is hing on his to do list. sigh. Add in a jealous ROn, a supportive Lucius and Narcissa (who'd have thought) and Ginny and you've got a soup going! well, I do.Next chapter is in queue and should validate very soon, 1-2 days now, and I'll be adding another one in queue soon afters.
Bea, as always thanks for the update.

It is fascinating that they cannot hear each other. However, then it would be much easier to discover whether the other person was residing. I wonder whether Luna and Neville have been having the same sort of sexual dreams. Obviously they haven't had sex for real yet. Anyway, I am extremely anxious to read the next chapter and see if Severus does find Hermione.
Response from beaweasley2 (Author of The Plight-Trothed Bride)
Thanks. It's dreams - so I took a few liberities. Yes, Luna and Neville, and Ginny and Harry are likewise having the same dreams... well, you'll see.Thank you for the compliment.
Hermione, if you love a man, you don’t try to re-make him by nagging at him about how to dress and telling him he has to be casual when he’d rather be formal. If you actually love Severus Snape instead of some creature of your imagination, you love a formal man who dresses in black, doesn’t like big, noisy family parties, and will NEVER be fond of that cheeky brat Harry Potter. Let Snape be Snape, and he’ll let you be you.
And Harry is certainly generous, but he might want to discuss with Arthur and Molly first whether they really want to move from rural Devon to the middle of London. Maybe they’re prefer to re-build the Burrow.
Response from beaweasley2 (Author of The Plight-Trothed Bride)
LOL some wives do all the time, and they love their husbands. She only wanted him to be comfrotable and relaxed around her friends, and stiff clothing isn't being relaxed. The Burrow was destroyed and the house would remain empty - besides it's now a nice house. And if they want to stay in Devon (is that really where Aunt Muriel lived?) they still can. It's just a gift to people who Harry consideres family. Thankyou for reading and for the review.
Response from Very Small Prophet (Reviewer)
Severus were trying to force Hermione to be serious and solitary and wear nothing but black, he’d be a tyrannical git, and not loving no matter what he imagines. Instead, it’s Hermione who is being the tyrant. Is Herms so lacking in imagination she can’t see that something that makes her relaxed and comfortable might be extremely UNcomfortable for someone else? Or does Severus’s comfort simply not matter to her?
Response from beaweasley2 (Author of The Plight-Trothed Bride)
hmmm touché, we see it differently

I enjoyed the chapter! I liked that they worked through Severus's jealousy before it overtook him. I'm a total language geek, and you picked languages close to languages I've studied. I speak Spanish pretty well for a gringa (Spanish and Portuguese are quite similar) and I took a year of Russian in college, which is similar to Bulgarian. In Russian, dobry vecher specifically means "good evening." Not sure if that's a similar corollary in Bulgarian. In Portuguese, if you're a man, you say "obrigado." If you're a woman, you say "obrigada."

I'm sso glad that you liked the chapter. Yep, they actually talked about the jealously and her dancing, which is a good thing. They are getting better at communication. I used a site that had the translations to get my words, so any errors is my fault. I'm glad I only biffed the one. Thank you for reading and for the review.

Her dream at the beginning is sure packed full of info. It is a wonder she gets any rest at all.Rita skeeter should be sent to the bug zapper in this story and every other that features her. Or maybe it would be easier if someone just stepped on her.I hope that Hermione takes what Ginny and the other girls were saying about she and Severus to heart. And maybe this incident at the end will bring them closer together. There is something there between them, if only every outside force would leave them be. Perhaps the info that Hermione uncovered about Severus' family will get things rolling. There is so much going on here, and nothing getting resolved. My favorite kind of story! Just keep the updates coming please.
Response from beaweasley2 (Author of The Plight-Trothed Bride)
Yeah, well, it was a bit of a 'reminder' as to her state of mind and why she's so reluctant. Yep, Rita is really annoying, and when I'm read to 'zap' her, it will be a good one. There is a huge occurrence in the next chapter that helps too (won't say what now, but it will) Basically, you have a young girl who really wants to finish school, and all the normal schoolgirl things that go with it, until she faces being married. And she really just needs three little reassuring words to be admitted... Although that's proving problematic since my Severus-muse is uncooperative. But yes, things Ginny and the girls say are sinking in through her thick head. More updates on the way - as soon as I get them cleaned up enough to pass admin inspection. lol Thank you for the review.
Wow! That was a bit spicy at the end! The developing plot line is keeping things moving along nicely. I wonder what the reaction will be when the happy couple end up bonded. I doubt Sev will be pleased.
Response from beaweasley2 (Author of The Plight-Trothed Bride)
Thank you. I'm glad that you liked this. I hope I don't disappoint in the next chapter... I had some really good suggestions from my boyfriend and too a ___ appraoch. It's with my beta already. So hopefully I'll be posting again soon.
