Hermione, Ginny and Luna, sharing a girl moment, decide to cast a Pairing-Plight Troth Charm on themselves for fun. Each placed in the cauldron one yesterday-today-and-tomorrow flower with sugar and spice and everything nice, and a snip, a snail and puppy-dog tail as they each said the rhyme. For Ginny, the results are exactly what she expected, and for Luna, she was only mildly surprised. However, for Hermione, the results were disastrous! She thought she’d be paired to Ron and live happily ever after. So what happened and why is she seeing Professor Snape in her dreams? He’s dead – isn’t he?

I love to write. A dreamer, a creator and filled with wonder, imagination and life. Sometimes I get lost in the other worlds I've read and in some I create. It's all good, I’m in good company.

Oh dear. Poor Mr. Blume. It's not his fault Hermione wouldn't stop! Well, maybe could have been more insistent.
Response from beaweasley2 (Author of The Plight-Trothed Bride)
Well, as the one sheilding he was supposed to have been paying attention to her - face/eyes... She was concentrating on the spell... I'm sure Severus will sort him out rightly. lol Thank you for reading and for the review.
Very angsty and dark. I like ansgt and darkness. This is turning out to be a really interesting fic. I'm glad you're persevering. Keep it up.

There is something about Malfoy Manor that is really sexy in spite of the fact that I despise Lucius and don't believe he would feel pity for Hermione like he did in this chapter...
Response from beaweasley2 (Author of The Plight-Trothed Bride)
Lucius is feeling pity for the girl in the bedroom. He doesn’t know it’s Hermione Granger. All he knows is that Severus brought his Bonded mate to the manor. Believe me his feelings fit just fine.
Besides Lucius’ a Slytherin, a post war ex-Death Eater and under suspicion himself, as well as his family. He’s under investigation, as are Narcissa and Draco. But I digress… that’s in another chapter… sorry. The thing is he’s a politician and a smoozer. Advantages and opportunities…

Severus was a right Bastard in this latest chapter - if I were Hermione - I would just get up and leave the manor - let him stew a little girl otherwise she will lose any hope at an equal partnership
Response from beaweasley2 (Author of The Plight-Trothed Bride)
It wasn’t what she expected no. Unfortunately, Severus is really unhappy – down right angry at being ‘caught’ and manipulated like this. He just got out from under one master forcing him to do things and now he’s forced into a relationship – magically Bonded to Hermione Granger! No he’s not happy at all. Don’t worry, her reaction was one of disbelief and ‘oh my gods what happened?’ It will be all right. I assure you.

Oh my gosh - when Severus stalked her accross the pool - it reminded me of a hungry black cat stalking a little mouse. It was so sensual and seductive. I loved the consumation. When Severus realized what she had done - oh that was a priceless scene. I am now worried for him since the auror were contacted. I hope he is not carted off to Azkaban.
Response from beaweasley2 (Author of The Plight-Trothed Bride)
Thank you. I really had a good time visualizing Severus just appearing and walking up and grabbing her in the water. It was fun to type. The whole thing. Yes, the Aurors know – that the Ministry hang up… You’ll see. Happy reading.

He keeps saying he wants to use her - that is a bad omen for the start - he is just thinking lustfully but not in love yet. Severus is going to blow a knot when he gets bonded to her by taking her to bed. This was another sensual chapter - I love the way you are writing the sex scene between them - off the charts hot

Why thank you. Yes, he’s not gonna be too happy when he realizes he’s been caught! But don’t worry, things will be all right.

Severus is one hot wizards and I love him - all male and seductive - I love how he keeps thinking to himself that he is going to have her (outside the dream world of course) - oh Hermione - she is going to be a lucky witch- LOL

Oh good twist - loved the fact that they think he is dead but he really is not. The vision the Severus and Hermione had (before they knew whom they were with) was pure gold - hot and sensual. I loved this scene. I have never like Narcissa so Severus awakening to Narcissa's voice gave me the shivers.... Loved the first chapter.
Response from beaweasley2 (Author of The Plight-Trothed Bride)
Thank you. I’m very happy that you did. No Severus is alive and having him wake up to Narcissa’s voice was my way of saying how he survived. Narcissa and Lucius have him and brought him back to Malfoy manor or heal him, money and resources, and Lucius knew he was there. This story is canon DH compliant – everything but the epilogue. EWE!
I look forward to reading what you think as you go along. Happy reading.

uhhh....does this mean that the Weasleys, the Ministry et al. will be at the gates of Malfoy Manor w/torches & pitchforks?? As if any Weasely could keep them apart *humpf*
Response from beaweasley2 (Author of The Plight-Trothed Bride)
Um… no. I didn’t think of that when typing. Besides, Malfoy manor is big, I’m sure Aurors searched there already and found nothing. Lucius is good at hiding things.

Poor Hermione. I would also try to find a way out of the whole thing. I would really be angry, and hurt. Maybe I would have a fling with Lucius...hee.

Thank you for writing such an original and interesting story. I like that it is hard to predict the plot. What I find especially entertaining is how you paint the Ministry - as self-important yet incompetent gossips who lack discretion - and the Aurors - as keystone cops who can't seem to find a "wanted" man in the most obvious place to look. Do you know the scene in "Monty Python and the Holy Grail" where the knights consider going to Camelot, but as they think on it, they envision the inhabitants drunkenly dancing and singing "Spamalot," and the knights change their minds saying "It is a silly place." That is almost how I am seeing the Ministry in this story. No competence, perhaps dancing on the tables, a silly place, best to be avoided. It makes me laugh when Hermione gets their letters offering "help." I mean really, who'd want their help? I am guessing that how it looks to me is probably not the image of the Ministry you were intending to present ... sorry if my imagination has taken a wrong turn, I mean no disrespect to your story.
Response from beaweasley2 (Author of The Plight-Trothed Bride)
Well I am trying to stay a little to canon in regards to the characters and the Ministry is a bit ‘behind and inept’ at times. Also I’m quite sure Lucius is quite accomplished at hiding things, like poisons, contraband books, and Dark artifacts, what’s hiding a person? Besides, I’m sure there are secret rooms, corridors and such to hide a friend. Keep in mind everyone thought Severus was dead. Harry Potter said so. Then, only two weeks before this chapter Maggie Whitmire sends an areoplane memo saying that Severus Snape and Hermione Granger were engaged. That had to be a shock. So, the case was handed over to two Aurors already hunting Death Eaters. Then they get another areoplane memo from Maggie Whitmire two weeks (16 days actually) after the first one saying that Severus Snape and Hermione Granger were Bonded. Now they know he’s alive, he had to be in order to shag the girl and seal the Plight spell. So now the search really begins. And with a witch that would gladly assist in the capture of this criminal – right? So this is what’s been going on. It’s not really fumbling so much as a “oh my gods he’s alive,” kind of thing.Thank you so much for your comments. I really appreciate them. I hope I manage to keep up your interest as we go along.

something's burgeoning, aiiight!!! More, more, more! Would like to know, though--are the Malfoys under house arrest and how did they rescue Severus?
Response from beaweasley2 (Author of The Plight-Trothed Bride)
You know I think I’ll address this in the context of the story. But, I would think that the Malfoys are under investigation. At the end of the final battle, DWII, they were sitting together in the Great Hall, huddled at the end of the Slytherin house table and remorseful. So I see them as in ‘hot water’ and on ‘shaky social standing’… but I’ll answer this later. Sorry, but that will be more fun anyway.

Loving this!! What fun--"girl talk" and sultry rather than depressing. This is HAWT, and long on smut. Hope it's easy on the angst. Bwah!! Hermione loves. . . !!!!
Response from beaweasley2 (Author of The Plight-Trothed Bride)
I’m very glad you are enjoying this. I’ll prepare you. there is a little angst in chap 5 and 6 has a rough spot, but I’m not an angsty type writer. And this is going to be a smut romance piece. So you’ve been warned. Happy reading!

You are very wecome. Thank you for the support.
Ouch! Snape doesn't know that the only memory Hermione has of Malfoy Manor is Bellatrix torturing her. Not that he'd care at this stage, but still.
I think that Hermione has learned a hard lesson about using magic indiscriminately without knowing all of the repercussions in advance. I'm wondering if Lucius will still be her advocate once he finds out who Severus is bonded to.
As for Severus, he has every right to be angry, but using sex to punish her really makes for a bad start... I hope he calms down enough to rethink his actions. I know what I'd do to him if I were in Hermione's place and he tried something like that again.
Until next time, happy writing!
Response from beaweasley2 (Author of The Plight-Trothed Bride)
I so loved your review. Yes, she doesn’t have good memories of Malfoy manor at all. Yes, I think she has learned this lesson the hard way. Lucius is going to be a good friend to Severus and unwittingly an ally for Hermione (he doesn’t know who is crying in the bedroom) and Yes, I do promise that this is a romance – once I bring Severus around.
first, i liked how you linked this curse to all those fairy tales that have princesses in towers, etc. i thought that was very creative of you. the scene at malfoy manor was hard to read, so i can see why it was hard for you to write, but i do understand how he is extremely angry and therefore not behaving very well. i mean, you had him saying he wasn't going to go to her, and then apparently he was compelled to do so anyway, which i'm sure did not make him feel any happier about things. i am looking forward to seeing what happens with the ministry, with him being back and all. it's a very good story, and i will definitely stick with it until the happy ending!
Response from beaweasley2 (Author of The Plight-Trothed Bride)
Thank you. I’m enjoying this typing this story quite a bit. I have to admit my boyfriend has been over my shoulder on this on telling me how he’d react and that has had a influence on how I have had Severus reacting to all this. But we (he and I) are several chapters ahead of you and I can say honestly it will develop into a romance. I thought it would be fun to play with the witchtales and fairytales a bit in this, it seemed to fit nicely and gave a bit of humor to the story I thought. As if the Weasleys’ even collectively could have kept Severus from getting to Hermione if he really wanted to see her!
Response from kittylefish (Reviewer)
i'm pretty sure only dumbledore would have had a change at keeping him away, and he's dead. it's funny to think about the poor weasleys trying, though!
Response from kittylefish (Reviewer)
obviously i meant chance, not change!
I feel really sorry for Hermione, but I am not sure what she expected. She probably thought the sex would be good even if other aspects of the relationship were not. Perhaps the next night she will make sure not to meet him.I am still curious how Severus is going to validate his existence without being sent to Azkaban. Even though she used a Pairing Plight-Troth charm, I wonder if the ministry will allow Hermione to break the bethrothal. If she was allowed to, I wonder what her decision would be.
Response from beaweasley2 (Author of The Plight-Trothed Bride)
Thank you for reviewing. Oh, I really wish I could answer some of this but I can’t. Yes, Hermione thought their coupling would be like it was in the dreams – Luna and Ginny assured her it would be. As for Severus… can’t say at this time sorry.
Yay, a new chapter! I am loving this story and anxiously awaiting more!
Response from beaweasley2 (Author of The Plight-Trothed Bride)
Thank you very much. If you need a peek go look at my review answers. I will tuck in a snippet to those who as for it. Hope to update soon. My beta has me next chapter already.
so ron really found out the hard way about Hermione and Snape. I actually feel a little bad for him. Well, only a little :) I wonder if Lucius will eventually have a talk with his friend. Apparently he knows that Sev knows how to treat a lady so I'd think he may step in afterall - seeing as how there's a crying female in his home and he knows she crying after shagging his friend.
Response from beaweasley2 (Author of The Plight-Trothed Bride)
Thank you for the review. Yes, I was a bit harsh to Ron, but I still cannot see Hermione and him in any long lasting relationship. He’ll be fine I promise. It will just take some adjustment. AS for Lucius, he is being a friend and yes, he will be an ally, although he has no idea who is crying in the bedroom…
Sev is being an idiot. Oh well. Poor Hermione. She didn't even want to do this. Someone should beat up Luna. I am eagerly awaiting all that you promised :-)
Response from beaweasley2 (Author of The Plight-Trothed Bride)
LOL Thank you. And I intend to deliver!
This was a powerful chapter, and believable and important. I'm glad you wrote it the way you did. He's definitely bitter, and as much as we'd prefer it to be different, the happy ever after that comes too easily is far less rewarding. Great job!
Response from beaweasley2 (Author of The Plight-Trothed Bride)
As I’ve indicated in other review answers, I’ve a guy reading this story over my shoulder as I type it. He has been telling me how he’d have reacted if this happened to him, and he’s a nice guy, not snarky and snarly. So I’ve been using his reactions for Severus and in truth I think it makes what happens later more believable, realistic and romantic. I’ve very glad you like this so far.
Thank you so much for the update! I am, of course, going to rant about Severus behaviour, but be assured that I love your story, I just love it so much that I want to tell some of the caracters to use their "assumed to have" brains:-)So, while I can understand that he is upset about being bonded to someone without his acceptance in advance, have the snake poision removed whatever braincells he was supposed to have? He seems to know a whole lot about the usen spell (or curse), has it not accured to him that Hermione had no way of knowing who the spell would pick for her in advance, and that he probably not even could claim to be the last on her list of possibilities, due to the fact that he would never have been on the list in the first place? Most likely his poor male ego clings to the illusion that she habors all kind of hot feelings for him and desperately sougth a way to trap him.... While I do sincerely hope for a happy ending for them, it is my favourite pairing after all, I do think you should allow Hermione some backboone too. Yes, she used a spell she didn't know the full consequenses off, oh my, nobody has done that before. Maybe Severus should take a good long lookl on the mark on his left arm and think about if he ever made bad choices, not to mention that he once did so with the intent of hurting others, quite opposite to what Hermione did. When she goes back to the Burrow, let her tell him that he should brew some deep dreamless sleep potion for him self, for his performance in bed left her with no need to repeat the performance, so he should avoid comming back for her. That should hurt his male, Slytherin pride quite a bit, maybe even enough to make him consider if that is the impresson he want to leave about him self. As I said, I do want my happy ending, and I know that Severus is trapped into a situation he didn't want, but please don't make Hermione a doormat in the prosess towards a happy ending, and please meke him use his brain enough to start thinking about WHY the spell picked him. I loved your Lucius, maybe he can talk some sence into Severus thick brain? At the moment Severus and Ron would do marvellously in a pissing contest for immaturity and who is the biggest fool. Update agian soon, for I do love and adore this story, there is nothing better than being so intrigued by a story than being compelled to write reviews like this:-)
Response from beaweasley2 (Author of The Plight-Trothed Bride)
First to say I really loved your rant. You may rant at me anytime. You’ve given me some very good criticism and in such a nice way. In regards to Severus, when I was trying the ‘dreams’ my boyfriend was really curious and was reading over my shoulder. (I know but it was fun watching him squirm) and when I typed the real coupling in the pond he was like “wait a minute that’s not how a guy would react!” So I listened to him. Yes, Severus knows that Hermione wouldn’t have known who the spell would have matched her with. No, he isn’t thinking “Geese, why did this connect her to me?” as much as “Shite, why me?” I don’t’ think he harbors any delusion that she has infatuations for him or that she intended to catch her ex-professor he’s just pissed off that it did. And there isn’t a way out, unless the Ministry gets involved. He doesn’t want to go to the ministry. As for Hermione and her backbone, she’s trying to make this work. Trying to make the best of the situation and this was their first night together as Bonded mates without the influence of the spell. This was real and not how she expected it to be at all. She is mentally recoiling from a rough night and unsure of the situation. Believe me she has a backbone, she just isn’t angry so much as hurt and confused. You will definitely see the backbone coming out later as she will stand up to him, but give her a break the honeymoon was all thornless roses.
