Hermione, Ginny and Luna, sharing a girl moment, decide to cast a Pairing-Plight Troth Charm on themselves for fun. Each placed in the cauldron one yesterday-today-and-tomorrow flower with sugar and spice and everything nice, and a snip, a snail and puppy-dog tail as they each said the rhyme. For Ginny, the results are exactly what she expected, and for Luna, she was only mildly surprised. However, for Hermione, the results were disastrous! She thought she’d be paired to Ron and live happily ever after. So what happened and why is she seeing Professor Snape in her dreams? He’s dead – isn’t he?

I love to write. A dreamer, a creator and filled with wonder, imagination and life. Sometimes I get lost in the other worlds I've read and in some I create. It's all good, I’m in good company.

Thank you. I'm working on it today! Thank you for the supportive review.
They really do seem to be going in circles. But that's realsim, isn't it?
Response from beaweasley2 (Author of The Plight-Trothed Bride)
Thank you! I could hug you for this! Yes, it is a bit real. Relationships don't go from bad to great quickly. Things are about to be revealed to her, and he will start relaxing aound her - a little...
Thank you for the supportive review.
Is anyone else getting tired of Hermione who won't make a decision? You can't avoid it forever. Make up your mind already. Okay, now that I've vented, I can also say that other than being annoyed with Hermione by this point, I do like your story.
Response from beaweasley2 (Author of The Plight-Trothed Bride)
I'm so sorry. But in real time ( according to the daily planner I'm using to write my outline on) - we are in early August! Kinda shocking... but there you go. So in reality, she is going along as I know I would. Plus, Hermione doesn't want to make a decision until she can get to the library - that's where all the answers are (like who is telling her the truth about breaking her Bonding) Severus is starting to soften and relax and she is in for another eye opener! From a very unexpected source.Thank you for the review.
This is a great one. Boy, they are stubborn aren't they ? Keep 'em comin'. Just out of curiosity, any idea how many more chapters we can expect to this wonderful story ?? Just curious. Keep writing.
Response from beaweasley2 (Author of The Plight-Trothed Bride)
Thank you. I have three more done to refine and send to my beta and I'm cleaning up my next chapter which should post soon. Thank you for the review.
Oooh, things aren't going too well. And Hermione, tsk for lying! Admit your fears/worries!
Response from beaweasley2 (Author of The Plight-Trothed Bride)
Things are still in a rough stage and she is still hoping to put off Severus until seh can get to school and spend the day in the library, looking up Bondings, specifically who's right, can they be reversed or not. That's her problem - she's hoping she can. HE knows she cannot. But things are about to happen to open her eyes.Thank you for the review.
Why are they both so difficult?!?!?I hope she does move in.. *winks*

He is coming around and trying, but isn't the type to open up easily. She is still hoping to find a way to get them out of this mess. It's only August, and she hopes to stall Severus until she can get answeres in the only place she knows to find them. The Hogwarts library. Does that help?Thank you for the review.
He handled things better than I expected, given the day he had experienced. He had to know she was lying about the wedding plans. Does he know about her parents? I would think he would pick up on their absence. Thanks for the update. This story is just too good.
Response from beaweasley2 (Author of The Plight-Trothed Bride)
Severus is trying to have a relationship with her, but he's not the open up type. He probably knows some - but not all. You're welcome for the update, the next one will be posted soon. Hugs~
I just reread this before moving onto the next chapter. I love what you're doing here, and some of the details you add are really wonderful. But having Ginny defend Spinner's End was compelling and fits canon in a very unexpected way. (Have I already said that? I don't know.)I do have a question. In the last scene, why is Hermione Mrs. Granger-Snape, but Ginny is Miss Potter? (Miss, in particular.)This may have been explained earlier and I've forgotten.
Response from beaweasley2 (Author of The Plight-Trothed Bride)
Thank you for the lovely review. I just thought that Ginny would understand what's it like living in a 'less than desirable' home than most. I mean, com'on, a pigsty? I simply needed to give Hermione a kick in the arse. This worked, brought her down a peg to reality. In regards to Hermione, no one is quite sure how to address her since she is being granted an annulment - and her strife is being splashed in the papaer so much. As for Ginny being called, Miss - mostly because until she finishes school, she is not technically able to move in with Harry and be his wife. In a way she is in that 'engaged phase' of the Bonding. Doesn't help that those who want to be rude would simply use Mrs. anyway. Luna is in the same situation actually, but since Hermione is over the leagl age and is only returning to school because she wants to - she is a Mrs. Does that help or make it more baffling?Thank you for the review. I enjoyed the question.
Response from mia madwyn (Reviewer)
Nope, very clear. Thanks for the explanation!
I'm so glad I didn't have to wait very long to read this chapter. I'm so glad I found it.
Response from beaweasley2 (Author of The Plight-Trothed Bride)
Thank you. There is another in queue, but it's #42 in queue and so it will take a while. Thank you for reading and for the review.
ginny's advice and observations were spot on. and now severus has more understanding about her feelings re: malfoy manor. can't wait to see what happens between sev and his ggf! thanks so much
Response from beaweasley2 (Author of The Plight-Trothed Bride)
Yes, Ginny was the voice of reason. Yes, Severus saw the connection. What's ggf? But what happens next - I'm working on that!Thank you for the review.
Response from kimjo2 (Reviewer)
great grand father!
Oh wow, I bet hell is going to break loose in the next chapter... Thank you for the update!
Response from beaweasley2 (Author of The Plight-Trothed Bride)
LOL you'll see. You are most welcome for the update. Thank you for the review.
Sill love Narcissa and Ok - I concede here...Poor Snape, as always. Given Hermione's feelings on the sex matter I suppose it's not as bad as I made it sound. At this point, I think I am just as confused about what I want for them as they are. LOL
Response from beaweasley2 (Author of The Plight-Trothed Bride)
Yes, Narcissa is a true pureblood upper class lady, and let Severus know that a lady can make anyone feel welcome in her home. The sex between them isn't the problem, it's wanting to be nice to each other that is tough, especially with all the hurt, confusion, miscommunication, and clebrity of their relationship. Don't worry, I ddo keep checking Romance - I'll get there (*if these two will just start to cooperate with me!*)Thank you very much for the review.
Response from snapesphoenix (Reviewer)
Thanks for responding to my reviews! You've done a great job with the character development and I am really enjoying getting to know them and see the deeper aspects of their personas. I love the plot as well - it's a different take on SSHG and I always love to read something new and different about them. I can't wait to read more. YAY!
Um - everyone will probably hate me for this but...Go Hermione! Stand up to that ass! Thought she would have been a lot tougher about him using her for sex. I would've kicked him in the balls a long time ago, even if he was my husband. Although, it was technically consensual, it was definitly coersion and manipulation. Not that I don't love Snape - I do. And not that I think she should give him an annulment - I don't. I just think she would've stood up to him more - she's a little feisty and bossy. I think this just makes here look like she's a stupid little girl - which she's not. Please don't get me wrong I love the story - I just don't like seeing Hermione not standing up for herself, it seems a bit OOC for her. I do feel bad for Snape also - as do most of us or we wouldn't be writing/reading all the HGSS fanfics out there. So I'm glad she fought for his freedom and has put making the decision to annul the bonding on hold, it's definitely something she would do. If that doesn't speak about her character and how she cares for him I don't if anything will - except, maybe Narcissa and Lucius. I really like how you've made the Malfoys...Who ever thought they could be a good influence on Snape?! LOLCan't wait to see what happens next! Please be assured that I do love the story. I just feel bad for Hermione, well and Snape, but mostly for Hermione. I can relate to feeling like someone's call girl - and it's not fun, well unless that's how we were playing it but she wasn't.
Response from beaweasley2 (Author of The Plight-Trothed Bride)
No, no one will hate you! LOLYes, you'll see Hermione stand up to him a bit more. She's no longer intimidated by him and isn't going to just 'take it' any longer.I enjoy Snape as well, but he is being a jerk, demanding, abusive and manipulative. Hermione will be coming out of the little girl bit. She' jsut wasn't comfortable being bossy and feisty with Snape before. As for Snape he's realized at least one thing, possibly two in teh last few chapters. Hope it sticks. He also has to let go of the feling of being trapped and realize that they were matched. The Malfoys are fun, and yes they are the friends on Severus' side, since Hermione has so many on hers. Balance.I am bust typig away. As soon as I get the chapter how I want it - it's off to the beta. Thank you so much for following along. I appreciate the fun review.
Oh dear. The Fourth Estate (and its hanger-on) is about to throw a spanner in the works again. I don't know whether to feel sorrier for Hermione or Severus, and I hope you're planning something thoroughly unpleasant for Rita Skeeter.
Response from beaweasley2 (Author of The Plight-Trothed Bride)
The Fourth Estate? You mean great-grandfather Prince? Don't worry, things are jsut a bit rough right now, what with the clebrity attention, misscommunication, hurtful feelings, feeling trapped and all. It'll work out.Thank you for the review.
Response from Persevero (Reviewer)
I meant the Press. JKR's extremely negative view of journalists gives us a wonderful baddy!
I really saddens me that according to many people one cannot be good friends with an ex-. And yay Ginny for actually being helpful and even encouraging when Hermione is explaining things.
Response from beaweasley2 (Author of The Plight-Trothed Bride)
Well, I for one am friends with two ex's actually. So keep that in mind, it's something Severus will have to come to terms with. Harry and Ron. Yep, throughout Ginny has been a bright supportive friend. Hermione just needed a bit of perspective.Thank you very much for the review.
I think Hermione should dump Severus already. Seriously, he's become so awful in this story that I wouldn't touch him with a ten-foot pole.
Response from beaweasley2 (Author of The Plight-Trothed Bride)
LOL. He was never warm and fuzy in canon either. BUt he is trying, he just isn't too good with lovey, huggy, but he is good with the affectionate - sort of in certain circs! Give him a bit of time, he is trying. This last date (the after part) did open his eyes a bit. Hense he even went to seek out his great-grandfather. That will also have a play later on.Thank you for the review. Hang in there. I did check Romance!
Response from JunoMagic (Reviewer)
Well, warm and fuzzy is one thing. A complete and utter arse is another matter. And where and how is he trying? As far as I can see he's only abusing and manipulating Hermione right now. And she just allows it! What happened to her backbone?I can see that they have a lot to overcome, given how the situation they are currently in in your story developed. But right now I doubt they will ever be able to get over everything that happened. :-(*hanging in there*
Lovely chapter, and I agree that the banner is smashing! The best part for me was Hermione's conversation with Ginny. I think she did a great job pointing out Severus's view to Hermione.
Response from beaweasley2 (Author of The Plight-Trothed Bride)
Thank you very much. Yes, I looove my banner. *hugs SW*Yes, Ginny is giving Hermione a bit to think about. Thank you for the review.
welcome back! thank you for updating. I'm glad Severus and Hermione finally cleared the air about why she doesn't want to go to Malfoy Manor, and I hope Severus can reconcile with his great-grandfather; surely, him being Hogwarts Headmaster will impress the man a little. I really hope that Hermione tells Severus everything she learned from Ron - about the Death Eaters and their hit-list, the attacks, the Aurors following them - so that he doesn't have to read the newspaper to see a photo of Hermione with Ron. Hermione needs to think about what things look like to Severus. thanks also for having Ginny be a voice of reason to Hermione!
Response from beaweasley2 (Author of The Plight-Trothed Bride)
Thank you. it's good to be back - although I didn't go anywhere, I just got busy and RL turned upside down.Yep, Hermione and Severus did have some thing aired out. Her standing up to him made him seek out his great-grandfather. He will have an impact lateron too.BTW - who do you think has been helping the Aurors? hum? In exchange for leniency? I'll give you a hint - blond and black. Yes, Hermione does need to think about how things appear, porprietary. She'll get a bit of advice on that from an unexpected source.Thank you for the review.
Response from June W (Reviewer)
blond and black?? whoa, are they also helping to catch the 10 known DE's and trying to identify the five others? cool! wait.... so 'black' should be telling this to Hermione?? ouch, my brain is freezing - I should wait for your next chapter!
Good to see another chapter at last--I had almost given up...So many interesting possibilities from this point. They are still miscomunicating, but still trying too. She needs to act a bit more maturely and he needs to stop tying to dominate every interaction. I hope they can strike a balance-they need to come to a place where they have enough peace to develop an emotional connection and eventually a relationship!
Response from beaweasley2 (Author of The Plight-Trothed Bride)
Sorry about that. RL turned upside down and things got really busy. But I'm back to my desk typing!Your comments hit it right on the head. Given a bit of time, they should. Thank you for the review.
I'm glad that Ginny and Ron both made Hermione take a step back and see events around her in a more mature fashion. Perception really is the key here.It was good to see Hermione speak up for herself in regard to her feelings about Malfoy Manor. At least Severus is thinking now instead of demanding. It gives me hope for their continued relationship.I still say that if Maggie and Rita keep it up, they are going to end up helping unite the couple and will have to deal with that united front. Granger and Snape both focused on revenge would be a very scary concept.Great update. Happy new year and happy writing!
Response from beaweasley2 (Author of The Plight-Trothed Bride)
Yes, well, she might be the brightest witch, but she's being rather inmature lately. TIme that she face it a little. You'll be seeing her standing up to Severus from now on. Mostly she was intimidated by him, a bit afraid, and she's been putting up with a lot from him - but that's going to change. And Yes, Severus got a kick in the but from that outburst of hers. It did get him thinking. Yes, well, Maggie thought she'd seen a bit of dirt. Of course Rita will get it - and it will be in print. I'm glad you liked the update. I hope to have another real soon.
OOHH Very interesting! a brave new world.Freedom of speech? WHat's that? tagging freindly giants like dogs. I'm glad Hermione is mature enough to see that, deplorable as that may be, it is at least for Grawp's safety, under the circs. I enjoyed reading about the shopping expedition. a taste of fame. and oh my, more fodder for rita! This grows better and better!
Response from beaweasley2 (Author of The Plight-Trothed Bride)
Since when did the Ministry care about a little thing called 'rights'? Eh? Don't worry that will sort out, eventually. I played with the idea of tagging Grawp only to assure his safety, that's right. Besides, to Grawp it's nothing more than a big shiny metal he can wear, looks pretty. LOL Yep, shopping with the fame flame going on, and Maggie catching up on some dirt - or so she thinks. Besides, You know I still have those two around and I haven't let __ squish the bug yet! I'm glad you enjoyed this. Hope to update soon.
So happy to see this update. All my ongoing favourites seem to be on hiatus lately. Glad to hear a new chapter is coming soon.
Response from beaweasley2 (Author of The Plight-Trothed Bride)
Thank you so very much. I'm flattered. Yes, I'm already typing on the next chapter. I'm not going on hiatus any time soon (I hope) Thank you for the support and the review.
Great chapter! Stupid Maggie though; she always has to make things more complicated. Severus is sure to be mad about this development, especially if Rita gets a hold of it. Can't wait for more!! ~Jen
Response from beaweasley2 (Author of The Plight-Trothed Bride)
Oh you can bet Rita will get hold of it - and more. oops. How Severus reacts - I can't tell you yet. But he will need to sit down and talk to Hermione. spoilers:Hermione will get a suprise luch invitation.Hermione and George will be seen in public.Severus will take Hermione to Spinner's End - and get two surprises. We will see the restrictions set for the student?Headmaster realtions guidelines....So I better get busy...Thank you for the review.
Severus will surely understand that it was a simple, platonic lunch between old friends? not bloody likely. I really like the way the Severus begins to see her side. I enjoy the termoil, but I do look forward to the two of them getting together.
Response from beaweasley2 (Author of The Plight-Trothed Bride)
How Severus sees this - well, lets say they will have to sit down and talk.Severus did get a kick in the pants this chapter, and it did open his eyes some. I will have them together again real soon. Thank you for the review.
Great ! Keep them coming. Just one little thing. You misnumbered the chapter. You wrote 19 instead of 20. Keep on writing. Hurry, can't wait to see what's next !
Response from beaweasley2 (Author of The Plight-Trothed Bride)
Thnak you so much. I went in and fixed that! Thank you for the review. I've been typing away here and working on the next chapter. I hope to have it out soon.
