Hermione, Ginny and Luna, sharing a girl moment, decide to cast a Pairing-Plight Troth Charm on themselves for fun. Each placed in the cauldron one yesterday-today-and-tomorrow flower with sugar and spice and everything nice, and a snip, a snail and puppy-dog tail as they each said the rhyme. For Ginny, the results are exactly what she expected, and for Luna, she was only mildly surprised. However, for Hermione, the results were disastrous! She thought she’d be paired to Ron and live happily ever after. So what happened and why is she seeing Professor Snape in her dreams? He’s dead – isn’t he?

I love to write. A dreamer, a creator and filled with wonder, imagination and life. Sometimes I get lost in the other worlds I've read and in some I create. It's all good, I’m in good company.
“Imagination does not become great until human beings, given the courage and the strength, use it to create.”― Maria Montessori
“Our imagination flies -- we are its shadow on the earth.”― Vladimir Nabokov
“Imagination is everything. It is the preview of life's coming attractions.”― Albert Einstein
“Imagination will often carry us to worlds that never were, but without it we go nowhere.” ― Carl Sagan
Reviews for The Plight-Trothed Bride
Well, that's some more Death Eaters down. Hopefully without any serious injuries to the good guys, especially Severus.
Response from beaweasley2 (Author of The Plight-Trothed Bride)
Yep, checking them off my list as I wrote this story. Of course, as muses go, and with Severus detective work we do find more here and there, but we're getting them. There were injuries. But things will be all right. Thank you for reading and for the review.
Nothing like a civil dinner with the Malfoys, is there? At least Hermione accorded herself well. And she finally seems to be reaching an understanding with Severus where she might actually consider being intimate with him again.
Response from beaweasley2 (Author of The Plight-Trothed Bride)
Dinner went well. I was at a very formal dinner at a wedding, and the antics I used were those I actually observed. I did try to fit the manners to the character. Of course, Hermione did well, all she'd need is a little polish, is what Lucous meant. Yes, she's finally reaching some understanding with Severus, not fully, but starting to. Thank you for reading and for the review.

I've done many formal dinners (we actually learned how to behave in a formal meal at the Naval Academy) because it's a Naval Tradition. For enlisted being commissioned, they have 'Knife and Fork' school to teach them proper table ettiquette. And honestly, onboard most ships it's formal dinner every night from a manners standpoint, though periodically you have even more formal dinners on the ship in addition to super formal ones out in town where you dress to the nines. It's always interesting to watch folks who aren't educated on formal dining attempt it.
Nice to see Hermione learning to be more civil towards the Malfoys, who really are making an effort. Whether sincere or not is beside the point, they are putting on a good show. Nice to see her apologize to Draco once she realized what had happened. Severus is doing a better job holding his tongue given her propensity towards carelessness.
Response from beaweasley2 (Author of The Plight-Trothed Bride)
There is an unwritten code of conduct and social ettiquet toward Bonded mates: magical alliances are or can be unpredictable, and therefore the new Bonded mate is given all the status and curtsies granted to the pure-blood/half-blood witch or wizard. (Some necessary coaching maybe be necessary is also taken into account by the family) So this is not an act: Severus is like family to the Malfoys in this story, Draco's godfather, Lucius' friend, and he has a mutual respect and a 'helped out the other' relationship with Narcissa. Yes, Hermione apologizing was big, it will be a step in mending their past, and will help with her new status in the wizarding world. Severus is learning her, and he does know how to behave in formal company - I see him as being really good at blending in. Thank you for reading and for the review.
Response from phoenix (Reviewer)
Yeah, Severus has to be really good at blending in to have pulled off what he did. As to act or not from the Malfoy's, I was considering how Hermione sees it. I know Lucius tried to explain it to her, how her status has changed, but I know she has to be very sceptical given their past and her ignorance of the wizarding world (something I'm having fun with myself).
Oh my goodness! It's 'cats and dogs living together, mass hysteria!' (sorry just saw Ghostbusters the other day) Nice to see so many moving on from the ugliness of the past. Harry really seems to accept that old wounds must be cleaned and not allowed to fester. And love how he's reaching out to Severus by asking about Lily and understanding how his father was a prat rather than playing ostrich in the sand over that. Sniff. Our little Harry is growing up.
Response from beaweasley2 (Author of The Plight-Trothed Bride)
Love the quote! Yes, Harry is trying and he's so desperiate to know what his mum was like, he is willing to give Severus a break. and be nice. Harry is growing up, still a young man, but also facing being an adult too. And we all know that he knowns his dad was a prat to Severus. Severus was good to recognize the gesture for what it was, too. Thank you for reading and for the review.
Interesting on Severus' great-grandfather being poisoned. Seems logical the uncle would be involved. Can't wait to see the 'healer's' reaction when this all goes down. And it seems like Hermione is finally starting to take the rogue death eater threat seriously.
Response from beaweasley2 (Author of The Plight-Trothed Bride)
I know, its almost as bad as 'the butler did it' but then agian, this is one of those side threads that needed to be easy to decipher. Oh, the healer is a piece, let me tell you. Yes, she's starting to see that she has to be more careful. Thank you for reading,
Response from beaweasley2 (Author of The Plight-Trothed Bride)
, and for the review. I'm looking forward to your next chap as well.
Baby steps are good. It is interesting that they seem to be after Hermione, though I can understand since she was the 'brains' of the operation so to speak. She just needs to wise up on constant vigilence.
Response from beaweasley2 (Author of The Plight-Trothed Bride)
yep, little steps at a time. He's trying and she's trying to get to know him. Yes, the DE's are after her, and its because of her part in the war as well as her Bonding to Sevrus - but she's not the only one. We are only seeing her side of things. and Severus'. You'll see. Thank you for reading and for the review.
Very nice look at Severus' past and Hermione's attempt to understand him after he got rather rude about her interest in the Spell. I can definitely see her being in shock about killing someone. Hard thing for her to process, even if it was accidental
Response from beaweasley2 (Author of The Plight-Trothed Bride)
They are still trying to get to know each other. it was fun trying to make up a past for him, thinking what would be likely. Yeah, she's not a killer and although in a kill-or-be-killed situation she'll defend herself, she's not a killer. Thankyou,
Response from beaweasley2 (Author of The Plight-Trothed Bride)
, for taking the time to give my story a read, I'm delighted that you are enjoying it. Thank you also for the review. Hugs.
I was wondering when we'd hear more from 'dear' Maggie. Looking forward to more!
Response from beaweasley2 (Author of The Plight-Trothed Bride)
More coming. So Rita lost her daily column and Maggie has been reallocated at work – not the comeuppance most expected, but quite a slap on the wrist for both; they lost what was most important to them. Thank you for reading and for the review.
And the Nobel Prize for Common Sense goes to Ginny Potter!!! So glad she set Hermione straight. Good chappie.
Response from beaweasley2 (Author of The Plight-Trothed Bride)
I'm sure she'll be delighted to know. Bout time she did, right?Thank you for reading and for your review.
My feet hurt from all that dancing. But good times were had by all. Nice to see some mending of fences since they all need to get along.
Response from beaweasley2 (Author of The Plight-Trothed Bride)
I know, but it was a formal ball and even Severus knew they'd be dancing. well, minus the rain. Yep, mending fences - check. Getting along - check. Thank you for reading and for the review.
On the upside Severus is being more understanding and less pushy. And on the downside, Hermione has learned the true nature of the spell/curse. Interesting how it's described differently based on who is telling the tale. At least they aren't snipping at each other anymore. I do wonder how Severus will respond to Lucius 'meddling'
Response from beaweasley2 (Author of The Plight-Trothed Bride)
Yes, she's learning a lot about the spell - a triad spell and a strong unbreakable one. Nope, snipping is giving way and that's a good thing. One can forgive a friend. lol Thank you for reading and for the review.
How funny the best advice is coming from the person she trusts the least. Hopefully she will read through the books and realize that Lucius is speaking the truth. Props to Lucius for trying to get both sides to be adults and work this out.
Response from beaweasley2 (Author of The Plight-Trothed Bride)
Yes, it works out that way sometimes. lol She'll read the books - she loves books and these are new to her. I'm glad you like Lucius' tactics. Thank you for reading and for the review.
Well, he's getting closer to an understanding. Hopefully he'll be bright enough to pick up groceries. He may not want to date his wife, but until she gets to know him, afraid he does. At least he's asking questions and listening to answers rather than just flying off the handle.
Response from beaweasley2 (Author of The Plight-Trothed Bride)
A little closer and, no, he's not flying off the handle. Groceries, well, not much point if you're living in the castle eating elf cooked meals. He, or she will eventually. Thank you for reading and for the review.
I feel for both of them. I look forward to seeing how they sort out their feelings! Thanks!
Response from beaweasley2 (Author of The Plight-Trothed Bride)
Thank you very much. Don't worry, I'm not done with them yet?

Tell her to get up her gumption, and get to the Burrow. She may even get there in time for some bath play, if she's quick!
Response from beaweasley2 (Author of The Plight-Trothed Bride)
Teehehehe well bath play - hadn't thought about that - this round around.
Response from beaweasley2 (Author of The Plight-Trothed Bride)
Teehehehe well bath play - hadn't thought about that - this round around.
wait, is Molly expecting Hermione to come for lunch? well, if Hermione never shows up at the Burrow, I'm going to hope that Molly gives a good talking-to to Severus about how he needs to settle down and focus on his marriage to Hermione. Molly is up to the task. poor Kreacher and those Howlers! thank you for the new chapter.
Response from beaweasley2 (Author of The Plight-Trothed Bride)
Well, she was. Don't worry, Sev gets 'spoken to' by a wizard with more to say...

She's being an idiot, but he hasn't given her any reason to believe any differently.
Response from beaweasley2 (Author of The Plight-Trothed Bride)
Exactly.

Still as blunt as a 2x4 between the eyes. Someone get him an issue of Cosmo. LOL
Response from beaweasley2 (Author of The Plight-Trothed Bride)
Oh my gods, rothl! Severus reading Cosmo!Loved this one, thank you! and thank you for reading and for this hilarious review.
Oh, Severus is not going to be a happy camper. First of all about her being out and about without him for protection and secondly for spending time with Ron, especially since Severus won't ask questions first. I see another bit row, especially once Rita's involvedl
Response from beaweasley2 (Author of The Plight-Trothed Bride)
Nope, and he'll let her know, unfortunately. Hope you like how it's handled. Thank you for reading and for the review.
It's so difficult because you are being a bloody arse, Severus! At least they managed to have a pleasant afternoon, even if he did use Legilimency on her, which wasn't cricket, but he's about a socially inept as Ron when it comes to girls.
Response from beaweasley2 (Author of The Plight-Trothed Bride)
Yes, he's still being an arse. It won't help him later when she's... you'll see. But they did have a nice afternoon. He will learn. he will. Eventually. Thank you for reading and for the review.
Love the Muggle vacation for Harry's birthday and great to see Severus doing his part to help capture Death Eaters. Both of them still need to learn a lot about communication.
Response from beaweasley2 (Author of The Plight-Trothed Bride)
I'm delighted that you enjoyed Harry's birthday adventure. Yep, Severus is helping round up the bad guys. Yep, communicatin is still a difficulty for them, that will take time. Thank you for reading and for the review.
It was almost going well there. Severus has got to find a more pleasant way to deliver news. And he has got to learn to take her feelings into account. Probably best if he stays away from the spell he's thinking about, but he's stubborn and likely won't.
Response from beaweasley2 (Author of The Plight-Trothed Bride)
Almost. Yeah, he does, but so far he's being stubborn and difficult - it will make things tough later on... Thank you for reading and for the review.
Good on Kingsley trying to plug the leak and could our two protagonists finally be thinking of acting like mature adults?
Response from beaweasley2 (Author of The Plight-Trothed Bride)
Yep, had to be done. Besides, it was tollerated for far too long by the previous administrations and hed to be curbed. Thank you for reading and for the review. Hugs,
Response from beaweasley2 (Author of The Plight-Trothed Bride)

Severus really ought to sit down and have a talk with Lucius about how to treat a woman. Of course that isn't who he is, but if he really wants to talk to Hermione he could probably use a little advice.
Response from beaweasley2 (Author of The Plight-Trothed Bride)
Yes, he certainly should. Nope, he's a man's wizard and it's like stopping to ask for directions for him. Thank you for reading and for the review.
Response from phoenix (Reviewer)
LOL I loved the bit about directions. I am married to that man who won't ask directions and if there is possibility of something being wrong will send me to check it out.
