Teenage Severus Snape and Lily find a room in the castle with a partially hidden staircase that leads them up to a private room at the top of a tower that even the Marauders don't know about.
Then twenty years later, Hermione Granger finds the room. Suddenly she’s confronted by Severus Snape, who’s always considered tower room to be his own private little nook, finds herself not only under the rooms spell, but must now meet the conditions of the room with the one professor that has always been her biggest enigma.

I love to write. A dreamer, a creator and filled with wonder, imagination and life. Sometimes I get lost in the other worlds I've read and in some I create. It's all good, I’m in good company.
“Imagination does not become great until human beings, given the courage and the strength, use it to create.”― Maria Montessori
“Our imagination flies -- we are its shadow on the earth.”― Vladimir Nabokov
“Imagination is everything. It is the preview of life's coming attractions.”― Albert Einstein
“Imagination will often carry us to worlds that never were, but without it we go nowhere.” ― Carl Sagan
Reviews for The Enchanted Tower Room
After all of those centuries the Bloody Baron still hadn't learned, which is sad. Obsession is a horrible thing. I am glad that everyone else involved had the fortitude to make things work in the end.I think Hermione wanted to know if Severus still loved her.You wrapped up the Tower debacle rather nicely.

Yes, well, you're right. Obsession is a hard thing to let go of. Yes, things all worked out fine. That's s good guess. Thank you very much for the compliment. I appreciate the tip you sent me as well, very much, and I'm much obliged. Thank you for reading and the review. Hugs~

P.S. Ernie is marrying Megan instead.
Yay!!! Apparently I'm 10 days behind in checking my email :o Glad you got it done, it was exciting to read the end part :) I think that I shouldn't have anything to do with fanfiction other than reading it when I have classes lol

I'm still trying sort out how to nominate as i'm computer stupid but if I can't Iv'e got a very clever daugther but I would like to do it myself
Response from beaweasley2 (Author of The Enchanted Tower Room)
Mummy, you are not being selfish at all. Wow, you're going to nominate me? That is such a compliment! Thank you. Don't worry, I'm on the computer stupid side too. I'd still be using my brother typewriter, except it's easier to fix errors on my computer. Thank you so much for the flattering review. I'm honored you think so highly of this story.

At last....together again. Have so enjoyed this fic...and have awaited expectantly for each nugget posted so eagerly.....you do not disappoint! So sad that it is coming to an end but you have pulled all the tendrils of your plot together into such a seamless way...so effortless! Brilliant :)

Wow, thank you. I hope you like the last two chapters as well. I know, it's hard to be so close to the end, but thank you so much for reading this and following along.
Wonderful chapter -- esp....the visit in the library from Sev....makes my heart and other items pound!!

I do like how you are writing Lily and Severus. I do see them both at fault. I also blame the house division, which I believe was something Dumbledore should have addressed as headmaster. And the Library scene was great. I look forward to future updates, thanks for writing such a terrific fic.

You are very welcome. I'm pleased that what I hoped to portray with Lily and Sev is coming across. You've nailed it.Yes, the library scene, apersonal Severus fantasey... hummm. Glad you liked it too.Thank you so much for the review.

Wonderful chapter. I like the idea of the party and how Voldermort recruited followers, “…his goal was simply to get Wizardkind to come out of hiding”. This makes sense. I do like how you show that Severus is choosing his friends over Lily. “I hate it that you broke our date to go hang around with them.” It just seems like an argument teenagers have. I also like that you are showing what the Dark Arts are with the blood to seal the tower. But even though something isn’t classified as the dark arts the intent behind a so call jinx can be dark. I’m thinking of Potter and Black. The idea of “entrap you and hold your soul,” I like, and also how the Baron and Snape parallel Hermione and The Grey Lady and their discovery of the tower. The back story for the Bloody Baron and Grey Lady is great, and sometimes canon just needs to be moved around for the sake of story.

Thank you very much. I have taken a lot of statements about 'early Voldemort' and tried to 'reason them out' and explain how it might have been. I mean, he had to gain everyone's support, right. and about Lily's and Sev's relationship, I borrowed from a few of my own/girlfriends diasterous relationships that broke up with heart ache.I used the idea from DH 'The Cave' and the fact that the castle moves, grows and changes almost as if alive. Add a Blood Bonding to the spells and they take on a whole new meaning. Thus they've lasted far longer than they should have. The 'entrap you soul,' isn't really so, but to the wizzard who is spell-bound because his love refutes him, leaving him in eternally repinning for his lady love - it would seem that way, wouldn't it?The idea of the backstory for the Grey Lady and Baron was based upon - if you died in Albania, why are you both haunting Hogwarts? Easy answer: the Grey Lady only told Harry part of her story in DH. Then everything fit in nicely. No real tweaking involved. It's canon. Ok, I tried.Thank you for the wonderful review. I really loved reading it.

Aww...they both admitted their feelings!! Yay! I loved the library scene...wonderful job! I feel so bad for the upcoming chapter when Snape will have to kill Dumbledore and Hermione's love will be put to the ultimate test. Can't wait for more...great job. ~Jen

Thank you. Yep, the upcoming chapter will be a tough one. and they will be seperated for a chapteror two. and there will be character deaths (don't worry, I don't kill Severus) Yes, there will be much that is tested. so hang on.

Love this story. It is so wonderful that they have a chance to grab some happiness - even if it is in the Library, but then again I think you could class it as a natural habitat for those two! I have thoughts of David Attenborough springing their little mating ritual! (*Hits head on desk*).Re. The baby weight.Britain is like Australia in that it originally had the Imperial system (What else would expect with a name like 'Imperial'? Plus we were a British Colony - and still have 'The Queen') but Britain officially converted to the metric system in 1995. I have found the use of Metric or Imperial varies on what people feel comfortable in using, but as time progresses more people have leant towards the metric. In official documents or retail weights and measures it is mandated by Parliament to be metric (except for a select few). I have worked in a hospital and babies details/health records are officially recorded in metric, but nearly everyone wants a conversion to the Imperial for the weight so they can compare it to what they know. For a comprehensive summary search Wikipedia with the search terms 'Imperial units'.So considering the changeover date compared to Severus's birthdate the Imperial mesurements stated in this story would be correct.Sorry for the lesson (Do I sound too much like Hermione? I wish!)Cheers.

Thhank you actually for the information. I actually asked Ladyinthecloak and a RN at the hops I work at (from the UK as well) and they said that using pounds was fine. But thank you. Someone drew a picture of Severus and Hermione in a library and I love the idea/imagery and it seems like something he'd do. Thank you for the review.

Muddauber? Did you make that up, because if you did that was a pretty good. I’m still wondering about the tower spells, and why they didn’t go away when the caster died. I also like how you are showing that Lily is having pressure from her house about her friendship with Severus. I believe that both houses gave their friendship a lot of hardship.
Response from beaweasley2 (Author of The Enchanted Tower Room)
Yes, in fact I use Muddauber in a few of my stories. It just sounds like a huge disgusting grub, doesn't it?I will explain more about the spells on the tower, what they are, who put them there and why. I will also explain why they are still in effect and haven't disappated, but all in due time. And, yes, Lily is getting flack from not only Severus' housemates but her own. But then we are talking about Potter and Black, and I see them as bullies-jerk-gits in canon. They might have grown out of it, but at school they were gits. So, it seemed to stand to reason that they'd pick on Lily to get her to leave off Seveus too.Thank you so much for the review.

I like how you use canon and give us another “what might have happen when Harry wasn’t around.” ;) I take it the werewolf incident hasn’t happen, and I’m not going to say it is canon that it should have happen before Snape’s worse memory (which I personally don’t think would be his worse memory). We are never told in canon if the memories came out in order. If the werewolf incident happens after Snape’s worse memory, I think it works out better for James. I also like the characterization of both Lily and Snape. This is one of the best characterizations of Lily I have read (and I’ve read a lot).
Response from beaweasley2 (Author of The Enchanted Tower Room)
Wow, thank you. I am typing it as 'when Harry isn't around/behind the Harry scenes. I think I do make mention of the werewolf thing, but as Severus was sworn not to talk about it, he's too much of a honorable guy to not talk about it. He was sworn to keep quiet, but James was bragging about saving Severus' life... something like that. I'm really glad you like my Lily and young Sev. Wriring Lily is easy, I remember when I was that age and was thrown over. (and at one thime had to throw someone over) It sucked, but of course it's Severus' view we see. Writing him as 17 and again as 37 is a challenge because I have to keep putting myself in the right mind set when I type. In the 1977 timeline he can't sound all mature, confident and aloof like he is in the 1997 timeline. But I'm having fun with this regardless. I'm glad you are enjoying the story. Thank you so much for the review.

Another great chapter. I like how you are showing things coming together for Severus and Hermione and the things falling apart with him and Lily. I also like your drawing and noticed that Lily is wearing pants, which I like because it is different. Usually she is wearing a skirt.
Response from beaweasley2 (Author of The Enchanted Tower Room)
Thank you very much, both for the compliment on my drawing and the story. I hadn't thought about the pants thing, I just liked the pose (I draw from pictures) and I though the body language worked. Yep, things for Severus and Hermione are looking up, and I'm typing away at a bad break up with him and Lily. Such has to happen - it's canon. Thank you agian for the compliment, it means a lot.

Love this fic! I *squeed* so loud when I saw it had updated. Lily really gets on my nerves! She never did deserve Severus anyway. She has such double standards (his House is the only one that has bullies, yeah right). I just feel bad for Severus that he had to wait so long for someone to trully love him back; and once he found her, because of the machinations of his 'Masters' she's going to have the whole Wizarding World telling her that he's a murderer and betrayed them (her). Looking forward to the next!

Thank you very much. I'm so glad I made you so happy. I love the icons.I'm just following canon, and I'm also making the break up ugly. There is always someone whos dumped. I know it's hard on Severus, wich will make his relationship with Hermione mean more - it's real and he knows it.You'll see, the spells are still on one of them. Yes, they will be torn apart, but ... You'll see. My beta is having storm problems and will gt a little behind. It may be a while before I can post. sorry.

I love the passion between Hermione and Severus. Thank goodness Hermione was able to let Severus know that she reciprocates his feelings. Although he says he is not long for this world. I gather this has to do with killing Dumbledore.Lily officially sucks.
Response from beaweasley2 (Author of The Enchanted Tower Room)
Thank you. Considering what comes - I thought it best. Yes, in I have a chapter coming up with a 'character death' warning. It's not Severus. Or Lily. and I will have another one later with the same warning. In Lily's defense, she is fed up, and Potter is being charming, everything she wants. Plus, we know that they break up and in break ups there is always a 'bad guy' in this case it's Lily. She throws Sev over for James. sucks, but he'll be fine.Thank you for the review.

A lovely chapter! I hope Snape looks back on that argument with Lily and sees how she is being hypocritical. She is ertainly not an angel or innocent.
Response from beaweasley2 (Author of The Enchanted Tower Room)
Thank you. Nope, Lily isn't an angel. She is no lily white flower of virture and certainly not innocent. She's just a girl with her own way of looking at things, and she's very judgemental.

Bea, you have really taken this story to another level. I love the plotline you've devised here. It's so fresh and unique. I absolutely love it! I can't wait to see how they work this one through and what the implications are for our favorite Potion's Master and Resident Know-it-All. :)

That was so tragic, actually. But I'm glad that Hermione told him how she felt. Maybe they can break the curse.

Yes, the confession breaks teh curse, but only of the one being told 'I love you' It's why (one reason) Severus was pinning for Lily so long...

You are very welcome. I'd never abandon a story. A few more chapters to go, =:)Thank you for the review.
This really is a brilliant story! I love all the detail, and how we get to see how alike Severus and Hermione are in trying to research the spells and finding out from the ghosts what happened to begin with. It isn't until the perspectives of all those involved get shown that we see what's really going on...Hope since Hermione wasn't rejecting him, that he only thought she was, that they'll be alright in the end (not that I think you'd ever really doom them to misery). Maybe if they break this repeating cycle that the Room seems to have with their relationship the curse will be broken for good, and not trap anymore couples with the promise of "everlasting sorrow."
Response from beaweasley2 (Author of The Enchanted Tower Room)
Thankyou veru much *blushes* I love adding detail to my stories, even side stuff and this gives me plenty of opportunity to addin made up history, canon historical characters and new ones, it's so much fun. I'm glad you like it. In regards to Hermione, the spells broke in a way. Just as the spells broke on Lily and she had perfect clarity - so did Hermione. Unfortunately, Lily did reject Severus, and Hermione had the same reactions, expresion and stunned disbelief. He just didn't wait around for the 'rejectiion' that wasn't forth coming.I have two chapters of woe's, but since I'm following HBP (from Hermione's POV) and we know what happens - I will have to get through DH and well, bear with me. Okay?
