Teenage Severus Snape and Lily find a room in the castle with a partially hidden staircase that leads them up to a private room at the top of a tower that even the Marauders don't know about.
Then twenty years later, Hermione Granger finds the room. Suddenly she’s confronted by Severus Snape, who’s always considered tower room to be his own private little nook, finds herself not only under the rooms spell, but must now meet the conditions of the room with the one professor that has always been her biggest enigma.

Interesting chapter - Hermione showed that she is very much affected by Severus's touch - Severus though is fighting it very much - I cannot wait to see what happens next and will it lead to them being together.

Well, that sure was one hot chapter!! I have to admit, I get chills just reading what Sevrus is doing!! OMGIt does seem like he 's manipulating Hermione, for his own pleasure. I think the room has special powers that causes those who enter to act in an amoureous way. Snape sounds so hot as he speaks to Hermione...If only it were me, instead of Hermione...Great chapter! I love this story! Keep up the great work!

Thank you very much. It does seem that he is manipulating Hermione, but in essance she is naive and he's simply 'taking control' as some men do. But even if he is manipulating her for his own pleasure believe me she isn't missing out on anything!Yes, there are spells on the barrier, the stairs and the door. There are spells on the room, bith upper and lower. I've even said what they are.
this my 1st reviw of this story but i have always loved it from 1st chapter. i'm very lazy but i need to make a comment. please forgive me. i'm sure this story hea only one you have recived the only slightly negative lthis chapter does not make weep like all the rest<lots of angst in sex> i really love this story, voted for it on D/H challenge

Thank you for another wonderful chapter. I wonder why the tower enchantments have lasted so long. I hope Hermione gets a chance to talk to the Bloody Baron!

Happy to see this updated! I only wish there was more of the Snape/Hermione storyline. Or that the Snape/Lily arc would speed up and get to where it's going. It seems that they've had the same argument for a great many chapters now.

I really liked this story..Loved it in fact! Very cute. I had to laugh at Hermione's remark...'I just kissed Professor Snape!' Actually, he kissed her. I think it's wonderful, that we get to see more of young Severus and Lily....Since 'Deathly Hallows', I've always wondered what would happen if Lily and Severus had gotten together.Anyway, great story, loved the secret room, and the tricky way to enter it, and how to get out is tricky too....Young Sev and Lily should have no problem, but Hermione and her POtions professor, that's gonna be fun to watch!

It is very puzzling that the enchantments have lasted this long. It makes me believe Severus and Hermione are meant to be together and perhaps Hogwarts itself is attempting to correct the problem of Severus's lack of a soulmate since he is somehow bonded to the Tower Room. That is my theory anyway.

He couldn't really do anything when Hermione was covered with muddbauber secretion because he couldn't touch her skin. I was going to but it didn't work out well with him using her, then taking her up to the hospital wing. But I did consider it! If you do take Sev and kiss him please return him after so I can finish the story - okay?

This chapter was very angsty. Now you've got me worried for "both" Snapes. And I have to admit, although I want things to work out for him, he doesn't do much to make good things happen for himself!!! It is typical of Snape, but it still makes me want to smack him upside the head with a Bludger myself.
By the way, great use of little details in this chapter. It really added to the overall feel. And, as usual, probably still my favorite story!

Sorry about the angst. I used the Potions book incident to set the time frame in this sttory in relation to canon, since this takes place during HBP buut in 'another part of the castle' from 'Harry's world.' I'm very gald you like this story and am flattered to be a favorite. Thank you.
Trouble is coming... chap 16 is called 'The Walls Come Crashing Down' You've been warned! chap 14 is 'The Lover's Curse.' I'm writing chap 18 currently and have to get 13 ready for my beta. Don't worry - why would I check off Romance if I don't make it work out in the end?

I do wish Snape would get his head out of his arse and see that he is most assuredly NOT repeating the past with Hermione, that Hermione seems to be much more logical and self-assured than Lily was. I'm kinda surprised Severus could contain himself with Hermione all braless in front of him. I know he took the potion but since it didn't work on her - he must jsut be able to control himself much better than she :) I guess that's a reasonable assumption as how is a girl supposed to control herself around the Potions master? LOL

Well, Severus has had to learn to control himself as a spy, but he also knew he had no choice - he couldn't tough her skin or rub on her without causing her harm. However, he could apply the ointment himself! :) and took his time doing that (If you noticed he was very thorough. snerk)
Lily is being blatantly thick in this chapter. She is just as naive as everyone calls her.

Its both of them actually. Lily sees Avery, Mulciber and Rosier as bullies and real jerks that pick on her - hense they are bad. Sev sees Potter and Black as bullies and they pick on him - hense they are bad. Lupin is a werewolf - hense he is bad, and Sev sees Pettigrew as pathetic. (althugh I don't show Pettigrew all that much in the story)Lily thinks that the school would never let in a werewolf - hense Sev must just not like Lupin. Potter and Black are bullies, but they stick up for her - so while they are jerks and bullies they are still okay guys, somewhat. She doesn't like Potter and Black but they are in her house and they do seem to care about her...Avery, Mulciber and Rosier stand up for Sev and are his friends. He may think they are narrow minded, and a bit prejudiced, but they accept him and treat him like an equal. They are (mostly if not pureblood) come from long established wizarding families and are Slytherin.It's perspectives.
Sev is too hard headed to do things normally.

Hard headed, stubborn, wary, been hurt terribly, disappointed in the past, turned against... there is a long list of what he is and isn't.
tunnel incident took place before Severus called lily a mudblood, she mentioned it in the memory right before the one where he's trying to apologize to her in HPDH but you can put it wereever you want.

Yes, Lily isn't the lily-white princess in this story. I'm not showing her from Remus' fond reminiscing as we get in canon. This is Sev's pov and in real time with all her short comings out on display. and I'm showing bits of her friendship with Remus and why he'd see her as he did in his PoA talk with Harry. In a sense both Lily and Severus are being thick. Avery, Mulcubier and Rosier are mean and pick on her - hense they are bad / Potter and Black are bullies and pick on him - hense they are bad. Lupin is a werewolf hense he is bad and Pettigrew is pathetic. = So both are clinging to the ones that stand up for them as being friends, not sticking together.The thoughts Hermione has in this chapter relate to a question I get asked = Hermine was not with Severus when she first leaned into/breached the charmed barrier. She was with Harry and Ron. Harry was almost put in Slytherin, and Hermione was nearly put in Ravenclaw. Why? This and Your question are the same and the answer has been implied to in this story. But I can't say what it is now. sorry.Thank you very much for the review.

I started reading this fic this afternoon, and LOVE it! I had planned to just wait till I reached the last chapter to tell you what a FABULOUS story this is, but had to stop and do that now. I like that you mentioned it seemed like Severus was being manipulative, and how you dealt with that, as it was making me a bit uneasy at first. (Obviously not enough to stop reading though, LOL.) This is such an interesting and imaginative premise. Plus I really like all the drawings that accompany the story (I may have cheated and looked ahead at them a little). All in all, I'm really enjoying this fic - thanks for a great story!

I know that the way Professor Snape takes 'advantage' of Hermione is a bit uneasy, but he had been through this all before and so knows, somewhat, what's going on. I am glad that Severus is now more willing to have a relationship with Hermione. However, I'm afraid that they're going to get caught if he continues kissing her between classes. I hope that Slughorn didn't realize what had happened. Hopefully he only saw Hermione and not Severus as well.

Yes, he's giving into his feelings but still keeping his wits enough to set wards. And if Slughorn saw Sanpe leave first, he'd have thought Snape was scolding Hermione, since he asked if she was all right. But yes, if Snape isn't more careful...

Wow, I really hate the short summaries here at TPP, because I had always thought that this was "just" a SS/LE fic, so I was quite surprised to see the full summary over at Ashwinder, which made me decide to read the whole story. So I have just spent my whole freetime today reading this story and found the it was one of the best fics I have started to read in quite some time. Actually this story is about Sverus and Lily, Severus and Hermione, and the Grey Lady and the Bloody Baron! I think I even have two more couples who were ensnared by the room in the story as well? But yes, it's time tranverseant in a way, and it covers years of 'unrequitted love stories!' I'm so flattered you are reading this, and hope you enjoy the rest! Thank you for the reveiw.
