Then twenty years later, Hermione Granger finds the room. I love to write. A dreamer, a creator and filled with wonder, imagination and life. Sometimes I get lost in the other worlds I've read and in some I create. It's all good, I’m in good company.
“Imagination does not become great until human beings, given the courage and the strength, use it to create.”― Maria Montessori
“Our imagination flies -- we are its shadow on the earth.”― Vladimir Nabokov
“Imagination is everything. It is the preview of life's coming attractions.”― Albert Einstein
“Imagination will often carry us to worlds that never were, but without it we go nowhere.” ― Carl Sagan

Great chapter! Finally we're getting some insight in what's happening there.I've been trying to mail you regarding the Latin text, but it does not work. Will try again.

Thank you. Yep, she just couldn't leave it well enough alone, thankfully. and yep, but he's been throught this before - same reaction, same expression, same sudden release from the spells - he just didn't want to stick around for the rejection. more to come!

Aarrgg! This chapter stopped too soon! Hermione should have spoken up when Severus expressed his feelings. How could she not?
Response from beaweasley2 (Author of The Enchanted Tower Room)
Stunned, oh my gosh he loves me when she was expecting him to reject her when they (she) figured out how to break the spells. she really didn't know he was falling for her. Besides, he was out of there like a shot - expecting her reaction - expression to be like Lily's. Some hurts are deep and he couldn't bear to have her repeat it and rip his heart out again.

Poor Severus. He let the ghost of his past push him into making a hasty desicion and an ill omened statement. He didn't even give Hermione a chance to speak after she had cleared her mind, didn't give her a chance to express her feelings.Hermione is NOT Lily and he really needs to get that before it is too late. Maybe they will make some progress - he did finally listen to her in the hallway and restored the points he took in anger.Lily's actions really don't surprise me here. Your version of her matches her canon-self perfectly. I am very certain that you can use "sanctioned" charms, hexes, and jinxes to cause harm and kill a person in the same way others use "Dark Arts". In my book, the Mauraders were just as Dark as Severus in their own way. It's all in a person's intent as far as I am concerned. Picture a tripping jinx cast on someone traversing the moving staircases, a Sticking charm cast on someone as they cross a busy carriageway. It really bugs me that Lily couldn't see this side of things, or the three and a half against one gang aspect of their actions. They were a hunting pack and Severus was prey. I would have had more respect for her position if she had told the lot of them to bugger off until they ALL lived up to her expectations.I am starting to feel that if Lily had just once fully supported Severus in his assessment of Sirius and James, things would have turned out much differently for him. He might even have eventually grown enough backbone to tell Avery, Rosier, and company to take a flying leap. Young men will do things like that for the girl they love/obsess over. Severus has never had unconditional support and I really think he is the type that would have grown/thrived with it.Her position of excusing James and Sirius while holding Severus accountable for his housemates actions only served to blind them both to the wrongness of everyone's actions.I am SO sorry that I've gotten up on my soapbox here. Needless to say, your story sparks certain things in me. I am looking forward to Hermione and Severus' meeting.Great update. Happy writing!!!

Wow, aeron, I loved this review. I don’t know if I touched a nerve or just really inspired you! I hope the later!
Yep, Severus was hurt deeply by Lily’s rejection (as we know) and when Hermione reacted like she had, it brought up all the pain and insecurities, hurt and he just couldn’t face that again – so he ran. He didn’t give her a chance to express her feelings. No Hermione isn’t Lily and while the relationship followed the same pattern as his relationship with Lily, Hermione was actually responding to him far more. He just didn’t see it. He was still comparing.Yes, he did finally listen to her in the hallway, but only because he didn’t see the words above the door as he left. He remembered them from before, and he restored the points he took in anger because he knew he was wrong. See, he isn’t a total git.
I’m very flattered that my Lily matches how you see her canon character – I am really aiming for that. Lily is slightly as distrustful of the Dark Arts as Potter and Black, because she’s had 6 years of hearing them berate Severus for knowing Dark Arts. The fact is (and I point this out frequently in this story) Spells change from being ‘acceptable’ to ‘Dark Arts’ because of the misuse of the spells. Some of the ‘old spells’ used by the Baron were ‘acceptable’ until misused and became “Dark Arts’. So yes, spells like those even taught in school could hurt someone if that’s the intent. “Yes, Potter and Black are every bit as mean, vindictive and dangerous as Severus, Avery, Rosier and Mulciber. Your examples are spot on in my book. And yes, Lily could distinguish between them. Very near sighted.
I agree with what you said about her support, but also if Lupin had spoken up. Lily did make a consorted effort, but House rivalry and fear – it would have still been Lily and Severus against two houses, caught in the middle. And it was always two or four against one: Severus against Potter, Black, with Lupin and Pettigrew behind them. And even Dumbledore had chosen/decided that Potter and Black were his favorites – he stood up for them against Severus about the ‘tunnel’ incident. Anyway – that’s where I was drawing my inspirations from.
But I loved your rant. You may rant at me anytime!aeron's response: Inspired, completely inspired - no nerves touched in the writing of this review. *grins* Thank you.Response from beaweasley2 (Author of The Enchanted Tower Room)

I expect this is one more mystery to be revealed?I am enjoying this story, and hoping for a happy ending for the tower's visitors. The mystery and intrigue are wonderful.

Oh yes. But simply, Hermione found the door from inside the Tower, looking for a way out. The same as Lily had the first time. This was the room with the flying keys.Thankyou very much for your compliments.

Kittlefish, Of course she will. I wouldn't have it any other way. As if I'd have them go through all of this and have her marry Ron.

livvy, would I disappoint and end up having her marry someone else? like Ron? Nah... but we do have the end of HBP and DH to shuffle through. (DH will be breezed over - sorry)

I'm really enjoying the story. A very interesting storyline with 1977 and 1997 Snape. Great way to develop his character with how life shaped him from the past to present. Every chapter has made me look forward to the next.

Thank you very much. That was exactly what I was going for the comparision of the relationships, thier simularities and how they made his what he is.

Thank you very much. You'll have one more chapter to go before I have that - but I hope it's worth the wait. We're almost there! Thank you for sticking with me on this and all the reviews, Jen. Hugs~
Love all the people that knew about Dumbeldore's illness and the plans he had to have Severus kill him. Never thought about Harry having poisoned Dumbeldore making him so sick that night that it wasn't all the curse. Good observations.
I must have blocked out the Carrows. I barely remember ever reading about them..I really have to go back and read Deathly Hallows
I like that she didn't say She loved him...maybe she will realize that she does love him and the curse has been broken, only her heart is breaking for a loved one she doesn't think she can have, good work!
Ruddy or, more accurately, the barn owl had taken the name Ruddynuisance what fun!
I like that Minerva gave her the necklace for protection and help.
I thought Severus intended to contact Hermione to write to her. If he saw how supportive she was at the trial why has he not been willing to get a hold of her?
Excellent chapter can't wait for the next one :)

Hiya, doll. I just assumed that since Dumbledore knew he was dying (cursed hand) that he'd have made provisions for his 'plans' and all his hard work be passed on to the right people to ensure Harry's victory - and that all his plans are carried through - that others would start to know things. and Alber was his brother after all, family. So many people forget the goblet after goblet of potion Dumbledore drank to get the fake locket, and that it may have had side effects - just before Severus killed him. The man couldn't even stand up on the top of the tower for pity's sake! He kept sliding down the wall! The Carrows are mentioned only through Neville at the end when he tells Harry how he got his scar, while leading them into the castle. i have all the Carrow quotes on file for Self-Writing Parchment. Not much to get - but Neville paints them clearly enough to know what they were like.Hermione was in shock. Her reaction appeared to Severus as how he remembered Lily's reaction when the 'curse broke' and rejected him. He thought he'd seen the same thing in her eyes. She would have told him if he'd bothered to get dressed before running out.I figured if Ginny could name 'Pig' and the name stuck - imagine Severus yelling, "You ruddy nuisance!" and the owl, choosing to serve Severus even if he didn't want responsibility for an owl, taking the name thinking to please his new master/owner!Severus wanted to write her, but keep in mind - he feels like he has nothing to offer her now. No job, no money=not rich, ex this and that, and not worthy. Things change - you'll see.Hope to have the next one beta'd in a few days. It's almost ready to go to my beta!Thank you so much for the fun review. Hugs~
Perhaps Hermione will make some progress in her research at Malfoy's and run into Severus while there. One can only hope.
Response from beaweasley2 (Author of The Enchanted Tower Room)
Hermione willfind answers. That's all I'll admit to. I've been carefully planning Severus and Hermione's reuniting for months now. Thank you for still following this story.
I love that you had other people aware of aspects of Dumbledore's plan-- it makes sense he would trust Alberforth. That's the way sibling relationships work if both people are big enough to put aside childish behavior. It was a delight to read, as always.

. I know Dumbledore was all about secrets, but he knew he was dying - so he'd want to asure that his plans (after all he was the one who had planned everything) would be followed through. And Alber was the only family he had.
Great chapter, I enjoyed it a lot!!! Great work!

Thank you, gabi.
I like the way she and Draco interacted.
Response from beaweasley2 (Author of The Enchanted Tower Room)
We all grow up and have to realize that the kid in school you hated could end up the big-wig in real life. I think both Narcissa and Draco learned that (or I'd like to think so.) So, I had Draco grow up. Because he made an effort - so did she. Thank you for reviewing and the pretty stars. I like sparkles.
It's nice to see how Hermione is going to such extent to pursue her research. I wonder what her experience at Malfoy Manor will be. Although the war is over, this doesn't alter the fact that she's muggle-born and they are pure-bloods. On the other hand, Narcissa is grateful to Snape, and if she knows what's going on she may help. The story on the first war, on the other hand, is quite interesting by itself. I look forward to read how it develops.Concerning the drawings, the pose of Emma you chose for your Hermione is one of my favourites.
Response from beaweasley2 (Author of The Enchanted Tower Room)
IF you think she is now - wait until chapter 24! I think you'll like what happens at Malfoy Manor. Severus' teen years - yes, it's not pretty and he's getting in deeper. BUt we know he turns out okay. Thank you on the compliment on the drawing. I have had a lot of fun doing them for the chapters.Thank you for reading and the review. I hope you like the last few chapters.
Why doesn't Hermione send Severus a Patronus?
Response from beaweasley2 (Author of The Enchanted Tower Room)
If he was in a coma he wouldn't have responded. He was rather out of it when he first woke up anyway - and the second time as well. When Severus finally woke and was alert, he didn't ask Narcissa about Hermione, being a private man. I suppose he wasn't comfortable talking to her about his 'love life.' Hermione obviously didn't think about using her Patronus. Sometimes the simple thing/answer eludes us.Thank you for the question.
Great chapter really enjoyed all the differences fromt he real cannon chapters to your. I much refer your where Severus walked away alive. Excellent chapter...but where is 21...off to discover it's secrets. Thanks so much.
Response from beaweasley2 (Author of The Enchanted Tower Room)
Thank you. Yes, I swayed away from the books a bit, but I really wanted a new life for him, and it'll take a few steps. 21 is in queue adn should post soon. Take care, doll. Thank you for the review.
I've read 14-18 tonight they are excellent. The writing is extremelly well done, but that's no suprise :) I love your version of what we already knew. very good, very entertaining it's nearly 2 am :)
Response from beaweasley2 (Author of The Enchanted Tower Room)
Thank you very much for the compliments. Wow.
I do feel for the young Severus, but I want to smack him for being so stubborn and hard-headed. Can't he see how his narrow mindedness is what is driving Lily away from him?
Response from beaweasley2 (Author of The Enchanted Tower Room)
Well, we all know how that relationship ends up, don't we? WE also know he didn't make the best choices as a youngster.

Oh no! I'm so sorry... Do you need essance of Dittany? Unfortunately things are going to get a bit worse, the end of HBP and DH before I can work my magical touch and make things all better. Hang in there - it won't be too painful. I hope.
Great chapter! More, please??gab
Response from beaweasley2 (Author of The Enchanted Tower Room)
Thank you very much. I'm working on the more part!
I feel someone bad for Severus, but I feel like he deserves what he's getting at the same time for being so darn stubborn. I'm still wondering if it's the enchantments on the tower or their actual feelings that are getting Hermione and Severus together...hmm. Good job!
Response from beaweasley2 (Author of The Enchanted Tower Room)
Ooh, could be a lot of both! Thank you very much for the reveiw.
