Reviews for At the Beach
God...if this was book I would stay up all night and read it so I could finish and know the ending! Well done. Please, please hurry with the next chapter
Response from chivalric (Author of At the Beach)
The next chapters are written and only need the caring hand of my betas. And a bit of rework, as my friend Dreamy_Dragon complained they feel a little rushed ;-) The next chapter will go into queue before Christmas, though, promise! Thanks so much for your review!
Excellent! I wondered what your promise of "finding another way" might encompass, and this is great. I liked that magical children stay in custody of a parent with magical background (pure-bloody law), and I loved how Hermione grew a back bone.
Response from chivalric (Author of At the Beach)
It was about time she woke up. Carlos triggered the change, but now it is up to her to make her life better, even if she can't get divorced. Thanks so much for your review!
Were you worried that following chapters wouldn't live up to the previous? You shouldn't have worried. I think this chapter is perfect. it gives us hope, not only that Hermione will see Severus/Carlos again but that her life will finally turn into something she wants it to be (whether it is with him or without him). I think it is an important message. She doesn't need to rely on a man for her happiness. He was the impetus for her to discover that she can have happiness.
Response from chivalric (Author of At the Beach)
Oh, yes, I was, dear. It is such a slow story, and both Snape and Hermione are OOC. In this chapter, there is not a black hair to be seen, be it long or short. A chapter without one of the main characters - hmmm, how would my readers take it, I wondered. And what will you (especially you) think about my solution for the whole dilemma, if there is a solution at all? Thanks for still reading. Thanks for your support. And no, Hermione doesn't need a man to take her life in her own hands again. Men, IMO, only make things complicated ;-)Hugs from Germany, and the next chapter will go into queue before Christmas.
Heartbreaking and quite, quite wonderful.
Response from chivalric (Author of At the Beach)
Oh, dear, you just made me shiver. Heartbreaking... yes, in a way, it is. Thanks for reviewing!
Well...if you want people coming back this was a good way to leave it. Beautiful story...can we kill Ron off so Hermione can keep her kids and get the guy? lol ;-)
Response from chivalric (Author of At the Beach)
Don't you think killing him would be a tiny bit harsh? Although... he could fall off the broom *g* Didn't even think about that solution! Thanks a lot for reviewing!
Darn it all. I hope that the two of them can come up with something. After all, Ron is an idiot and Hermione and Severus are very much not idiots.
Response from chivalric (Author of At the Beach)
She's got a plan, that much I can tell. Next chapter is in queue. Thanks for reviewing!
OOOOooo. The moment of shock! Exciting. Will he tell her that he recognizes her or what? Can't waaaiiit.
Response from chivalric (Author of At the Beach)
Definitely shocking, for him and, in the next chapter, for her. Thanks for reviewing, dear!
She really blossomed in this chapter! I liked it a huge amount.
Response from chivalric (Author of At the Beach)
Thanks! It was about time she became her own self again.
I hope that Hermione will be willing to do something to about their relationship. Maybe she can talk about a divorce with Ron and see how things go. Maybe if she gets married again she will be able to keep custody of her children. Since Ron is almost never at home, I hope she could get custody. Your depictions of Rose and Hugo are adorable. I just want to snuggle with them!
Response from chivalric (Author of At the Beach)
Oh, she's very willing, but on the flight back home, she can't see a way how to do it. A divorce is not an option (will explain later), although I did not think about the point of her marrying again. It's simple, really: she leaves means the children stay with Ron. Thanks as well for your words on Rose and Hugo. I like them a lot, too, I must admit ;-)
This was gorgeous. Even better than I might have expected.I'm curious about why you decided to skip their last ten days and jump to Hermione's departure. Not complaining, mind you. Just curious.

Honestly? I didn't want to write more sex scenes, as this is not supposed to become a PWP story. Naturally, there was a lot of sex (as soon as the kids were in bed). I had the feeling that I wrote everything I could write about the beach and them and their relationship up to that point. Now a new part starts - in a way, this story just begins. Thanks so much for reviewing!

Is this the end? It seems kind of sad.
Response from chivalric (Author of At the Beach)
It would be sad if it was the end, but it isn't next chapter should go into queue at the weekend. Thanks for reviewing!

Hermione seems so real in some ways. She's quite a character.
Response from chivalric (Author of At the Beach)
Thanks for this review, dear - I wanted her to be real although she's sort of OOC.

You certainly gave Hermione a very sad life, but I'm starting to see why she is so different.
Response from chivalric (Author of At the Beach)
Good to hear. I know I painted her OOC, and am glad I managed to give a satisfactory explanation. And I think her life is not that bad, compared with the lives of many others. It's just not what she expected - she certainly never considered the possibility that her love for Ron wouldn't last long.

I see Severus is already thinking into the future a bit. I love the description of the beach. It sort of reminds me of home.
Response from chivalric (Author of At the Beach)
:-) Now where are you from, dear??
Response from sinbad (Reviewer)
I currently live in Ohio, but I was born and raised on the East Coast. My dad was in the military so I was up and down the coast...but I sort of remember the southern beaches.

I'm having a hard time picturing Hermione so lost. She is usually strong willed and decisive. Although, you certainly caught my attention.
Response from chivalric (Author of At the Beach)
I'm with you - in my world, she's always strong and free and does what she wants. So I wanted to write something new, and I wanted to paint the picture of what would happen if she really married Ron. They are not made for each other (IMO) and I believe she would be sad after ten years in a marriage she can't get out. Glad I caught your attention ;-)

Nice start. I like the way he searches out his lady friends.
Response from chivalric (Author of At the Beach)
He's changed, and he knows what he wants. Occasionally, he wants someone to warm his bed - who can blame him? Thanks for reviewing!

I love this story so much. Tears in my eyes.... perfect!

Huh, making people cry always sends a cold shiver down my back ;-) I hope I will manage to make you smile as well, and - Thanks for reviewing!

"Everything comes to him who waits." I heard that countless times from my very wise mother as a teenager.
I eventually added "...as long as he worketh like the devil while he's waiting."
I noticed that his greatest concerns are for Hermione and her life and not for his own and the horrors that might arise if he makes himself known in the WW again. So now he lives with the new hope and torture of his life: "He was certain she wouldn't forget him."
Response from chivalric (Author of At the Beach)
She'd have a hard time forgetting him, as she's in love and very much wants to go back. Naturally, she can't do that because of the custody problem. And he can't go after her because... well, I gave the reasons, and mentioned horrors would add to them. NNext chapter will be up soon. Thanks so much for reviewing!

Wow....I'm speechless! It was very good, and please please tell me this isn't the end...more!!!
Response from chivalric (Author of At the Beach)
Thank you! I like leaving people speachless, as long as they can still review ;-))Of course this is not the end. I will update soon, promise!

This is a great story, but I kind of wish there would've been a little more from the ten days left on the island. Hope you update soon, I hope it doesnt end this way .. I cant wait for a happy reunion :)
Response from chivalric (Author of At the Beach)
Ah, you know, I didn't want to write more sex scenes - the one had to do, showing the tenderness between them and the love they feel for each other. I promise to update soon, though. It certainly won't end here! Thanks so much for reviewing!

I liked the story, and I'm always a sucker for happy endings too, so you get bonus points there. I just wonder why the tattoo was of a sunflower? Any reason for that choice?
Response from chivalric (Author of At the Beach)
*lol* Basically, because I like sunflowers and because I once saw a really good tattoo. So I stole it and put it on Snape's shoulder. There is usually an easy answer for nearly anything I do. Thanks for reading and liking and reviewing!
Aww, they finally get to meet up again.. Now lets see about a happy ending to the story, shall we? :)
Response from chivalric (Author of At the Beach)
*g* You found the happy ending by now. Glad you liked the story!
Wow. That was a truly amazing story. You really took the characters in a new direction, but it was completely believable from the way they lives had played out since the end of the "real" story. Congrats on making them so convincing, and on conveying the deep emotions contained in all the situations they went through.
Response from chivalric (Author of At the Beach)
Thank you for reading the story despite the unusual setting, and thank you more for leaving a review. I do not write fanfic at the moment, but that I still get feedback for my old stories makes me really happy.
What a fabulous chapter! You demonstrate such vulnerability and tenderness in Severus and Hermione. It makes me want to cry; their pain and joy is so palpable. You have outdone yourself this time. I can't wait to see what's in store for the star-crossed lovers. How many more chapters do you have planned?
Response from chivalric (Author of At the Beach)
Around five more chapters, I'd say. I don't have it in me to write a thousand pages, I fear. I will update soon, definitely this week. Thank you so much for your lovely review *hugs you*
