Reviews for At the Beach
Wow! This was such an awesome fic and even though you left us hanging for more details, you did this fic very well. Even with characters being as ooc as severus and hermione were, or tess and carlos, you made it work and make sense! Awesome job!! Lio
Response from chivalric (Author of At the Beach)
Sometime next year I might come up with a small sequel and give a few more details ;-)Thanks for liking Tessa and Carlos although they are not really Hermione and Secerus as we know them. I feared it wouldn't work - hugs for letting me know it did!
It was very clever how you handled this situation. Of course, there is plenty of room for disaster yet...
Response from chivalric (Author of At the Beach)
I'm awfully sorry, dear, but no more disasters. One more chapter and the epilogue, that will be it for this story. Hope you won't be disappointed! And - Thanks for reviewing!
of course! the perfect solution! i hope, tho, they will find a way to be together for always. but i trust you. thanks so much
Response from chivalric (Author of At the Beach)
*g* Thank you for trusting me. At least for this story, I think I can promise that eventually, everything will be well. Thanks for reviewing!
** Gulp** Wow! So glad Hermione has realized she can have the baby and that Snape can raise it. Perhaps she should ask George to transfer her overseas so that she and Ron will see even less of each other. Great story! Can't wait for the update.
Response from chivalric (Author of At the Beach)
Update soon, I promise. And don't worry about Ron - he's busy with silly little Quidditch groupies ;-)Thanks for reviewing!

Thanks, dear!
Wonderful story,I really enjoyed the way you tackled this chapter showing all the options for them. Of course I love the option Severus took. Many thanks
Response from chivalric (Author of At the Beach)
No choice without options, and we are not talking of innocent teenagers here who wouldn't really know why chose this before that option. Naturally, Carlos chose the baby ;-)Update soon, promise, and thanks for reviewing!
I think I missed something in a previous chapter - I'll have to go back and check it out. Last we left Carlos and Hemrione, she had went to him explaining the wine contract and that she'd be able to visit him and then she found out she was preggers. Now in this chapter is says that Snape had mentioned once "about a year ago" that he regretted not having children. ?? They've been together for a year now? Maybe I missed a whole chapter? *is confused*And I agree with the others that their problem seems easily taken care of and I'm thinking there may be a catch. I really like that you "went there" with Hermione originally deciding not to keep the baby. I have been in discussions about this topic in fanfic before and it seems the general populus of women in HP fanfic find the idea abhorent and completely wrong, but I think it's very realistic. Not every women can have a baby and that may sound selfish and wrong to some but it may be the exact right thing to do for that woman. I'm just trying to say that I'm glad you didn't shy away from Hermione - a strong, independant, intellegent woman - looking at abortion as an option along with the other options she has.
Response from chivalric (Author of At the Beach)
I can only guess that you missed the chapter "Castles built on sand", which covers about three and a half years. No more catches, dear, sorry to say. There's only one more chapter and the epilogue, so there's simply no more time to add complications. It's complicated enough to become pregnant without wanting to, I believe. Naturally, she would consider an abortion, as many women would in a similar situation. She used contraception, she is pregnant from her lover - it is only natural to wish it never happened. One might think of abortion what one wants to. but I believe that the lives of the ones already born are more important than the life of the unborn. But as she loves Carlos deeply, as she knows she will eventually divorce Ron, they figure out another solution. I always thought she's a strong woman, and I always (I think) paint her that way. So - many, many thanks for reviewing and sorry for my rambling.
I've looked evrywhere but it's seems you forget to post a part of the chapter. This is too short and I'm frustrated. *pout* Again I wonder how she will cope with this. Will she really able to get away from him and their daughter? Only to come back a few times a year. She'll miss every step or major development of this new life, at least until she can divorce Ron. I don't think I couldn't do it.I almost to forget: pass the congrat to beaweasley2 for the gorgeous banner. Lucky you.
Response from chivalric (Author of At the Beach)
Sorry for the shortness of the chapter ;-)I couldn't have done it. When my son was born, he became part of me like I wouldn't have considered possible beforehand. But I am a single mum, whereas Tessa loves Carlos deeply. She knows he'll be the perfect father, and although it will rip her heart apart, she doesn't have another choice. At least she will see the girl every now and then, maybe even more often than she thinks with Ron shagging every available skirt? Will let beaweasley2 know you liked the banner!
Sounds easy, but how will she bear leaving her new baby on the island? :)
Response from chivalric (Author of At the Beach)
Sounds easy, but isn't. It will be hard for her. Luckily, she knows that Carlos will be the perfect father. I'll update soon and you'll see for yourself. Thanks for reviewing!
Wonderful chappie, dear. I am happy that Carlos is going to raise the little one until Tessa can join him.
Response from chivalric (Author of At the Beach)
Thanks so much, dear! Carlos will do a good job, promise!
Oh, YAY!!! I just love the thought of Severus raising the child. Brilliant. Hermione will still get to see the baby and their plans can continue as they hoped.
Response from chivalric (Author of At the Beach)
What shall I say - this is what will happen ;-)Thanks for reviewing, dear!
ACK!!!!! They need to get Hermione OUT of that marriage to Ron, so TESSA can marry CARLOS, and have Rose and Hugo with them:) as well as the new baby:) What a CLIFFHANGER! And what a great story:){{hugs}}Fizzabella
Response from chivalric (Author of At the Beach)
Dreamy_Dragon promised to beta the next chapter until Wednesday, so I'll update soon. Thanks for reviewing, dear. And many hugs back!
OMG...a single father; Severus you are brillant. Oh, I'm so happy for both of them!!!!
Response from chivalric (Author of At the Beach)
I don't read that much, I admit, but I think a single father is seen quite rarely in fandom ;-) I liked the thought, though. Update soon - and thanks for reviewing!
Oh, I knew that they would come up with a solution... I hope everything works out fine: she will be unable to keep her children from hugging her for months, will she?
Response from chivalric (Author of At the Beach)
No, she won't, and wouldn't want to, either, but they are small and wouldn't make the right conclusion. To them, she's Mummy, no matter that she might feel a bit more podgy than she looks ;-)Thanks so much for reviewing, dear!
*grinning, clapping, and cheering* Oh what a brilliant solution. But how sad that she cannot live with them. Though, I suppose it's the best alternative, isn't it? Lovely, and sweet. But so sad when they each thought they's lost the other. Please update soon!!! *hugs*
Response from chivalric (Author of At the Beach)
Next chapter will go into queue tonight. True, it's sad she has to leave; but then, otherwise she would lose Rose and Hugo, and she wouldn't do that to them. Hard decision, but at least she knows the little girl will be save with Daddy. Thanks for reviewing!
Oh, what a relief. It sounds like a good plan. Couldn't she have sent an owl to say she was detained? Poor guy.
Response from chivalric (Author of At the Beach)
She could have, but truly, she was too shocked and needed to calm down first. Emotions took over - happens every now and then. Thanks for reviewing!
You scared me! I understand why you did that, but it was not very nice. I know these are big decisions and all avenues must be reviewed but that was just too scary. I am glad to see it may work out yet. I think Carlos will be a wonderful single father who enjoys each day spent with this child. I just hope it goes as smoothly as they both hope it will. I love your story and am looking forward to the next chapter. Thanks for sharing, JoAnne
Response from chivalric (Author of At the Beach)
Hi, there! As there is only one chapter left, which will go into queue tonight, and an epilogue to round up things, there is not much space for more complications, to say the least. Sorry for having scared you (the possible abortion? The pregnancy?). Won't do it again. At least, not in this story ;-)Thanks a lot for reviewing!
Response from JoKK2 (Reviewer)
The possible abortion was the scary thought -- I know their lives are complicated and this child will only add to that complication. But I also know that with the way you have written them that they would make a wonderful child together and both would hurt horribly each day if that option was selected. I shouldn't have worried now that I think about it. That option may have been a bit too much angst for this story. Thanks again, JoAnne
Wow, well, I'm very anxious to find out how long that "solution" will last... Great chapter!!gab
Response from chivalric (Author of At the Beach)
About one more chapter and an epilogue ;-)Thanks for reviewing!
i rather like this fic. But the end of this chapter has me wanting to smack Hermione. She's so quick to give up her child. And says her other children will never know. That is B*ll Sh*t.I am a bit touchy on this one..lol I know a guy who hid another child away from his teenage son. (he was divorced)
Response from chivalric (Author of At the Beach)
Ah, but she won't give up her child. She won't raise it, but the little girl will know her mum, she will see her regularly, and eventually, she will tell Rose and Hugo. Frankly, in this situation, there is no other choice if she don't want to lose her children to Molly. She's not only responsible for this new life, but for Rose and Hugo, too. I mean, would you like to have your chilren rose by the Molly I painted in this fic? Thanks for reviewing, dear!
That seems too easy. So what's the catch?
Response from chivalric (Author of At the Beach)
*snigger* No catch. Not this time. Thanks for reviewing!
Oh boy! Someone wasn't careful! Maybe Hermione and her children will have to dissapear until time for Hogwarts. Ron would probably not be able to find them. I am really enjoying this! Thanks!
Response from chivalric (Author of At the Beach)
Ron probably wouldn't even notice *grin* Haven't thought about that solutiuon yet!Next chapter is in queue, and I think I will able to bring this to an end fairly quickly. Thanks for reviewing, dear!
Yay, Hermione! way to go! You did a great job depicitng Snape's thoughts, made me feel very sorry for him.
Response from chivalric (Author of At the Beach)
Although that wasn't my intention - he's at peace with his past - I am glad you liked the chapter nevertheless. Hugs from Germany, dear!
LOVE THIS STORY, I HAVE READ IT SEVERAL TIMES AND IT STILL GIVES ME A (GOOD) CHILL WHEN THINGS TURN OUT AS THEY SHOULD. KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK, JIM
Response from chivalric (Author of At the Beach)
Thank you, dear! I love readers who read my stories several times! Right now, I am posting older stories. Hopefully, I will find the time to also finish the occasional WIP...
I don't know why, but I was afraid that one or the otherof them would be angry when the truth came out, andI'm so relieved that's not the case. I'm glad to seeHermione taking charge of her life again, but I have afeeling that this half-in, half-out plan won't last very long. It's too long to wait for the children to grow up, and Ithink something will give before then.
Response from chivalric (Author of At the Beach)
I guess you wasn't the only one, but I thought that to being too easy - one gets angry, runs away, and then I would have been frustrated and most of my readers and those two, too. After all, they are adults, capable of talking and solving problems. And yes - definitely too long to wait until the children are both at Hogwarts. One will give in, and it will only take about a month. Thanks for reviewing!
Two chapters in one go - I just had to find out if one ofthem recognised the other. I thought Carlos would puttwo and two together without outside help, but how ironicthat he made his discovery because of a call from Ron!So - will he tell her he knows, or let it drift a little longer?I loved the bedroom scene, by the way - it was verytender.
Response from chivalric (Author of At the Beach)
It was about time that he recognised her, although I used Ron to finally open up his eyes. And I really think he's too shocked to keep his knowledge quiet. She just has to look at him to know sth is wrong ;-)Thanks for reviewing!
