When Hermione discovers that an incurable Snape has been left to waste in a secret hospital ward, she sets out to do what so many have failed to do before and cure him.
This is my response to the Dictionary Drabble Challenge. The chapters have to be less than one thousand words and contain the listed words.

Reviews for For Him
So Hermione is terrified of Snape, but she is helping him because it is the right thing to do?
Response from sweetflag (Author of For Him)
Thank you for the review. On the face of it, yes. She's in a bit of a bind at the moment, and she believes that helping Snape will ultimately help her. Perhaps, she is thinking that if she can do it because it is the right thing to do, then that will make her alright...Thank you for staying with the drabble :)

Oh my the house-elves are spying now?
Response from sweetflag (Author of For Him)
Yes, but they're really only trying to be helpful--can you imagine the injuries if they had to do something that they considered to be unhelpful...
Response from beaweasley2 (Reviewer)
OMG! That would be house-elf abuse!!

Is draco nuts? That snake was killing him? Too bad Harry didn't kill it.
Response from sweetflag (Author of For Him)
You'll find out why Draco is keeping quiet later.

Oh gads Bella alive? No! and able to enter other's minds, much like Voldemort was able to use thier bodies? gods, it's like a book I can't put down...
Response from sweetflag (Author of For Him)
I know! Scary thought, and, by now, you know that Bella is really dead--her body is going through the natural process of rotting. I hope that it doesn't make you late for anything *cheeky grin*

Oh, quite well done. I liked how you used the words. Poor Severus, but at least there is hope...
Response from sweetflag (Author of For Him)
Thank you for the review :)There's always hope, but it may have a bit of an uphill struggle in this.

Wonderful twists and turns. Now I just need to get my dictionary...Snape would be one of those mysterious and compelling people that you could dread and love at the same time. He is wound so tight that you never know when he might explode, and when magic is involved, that could be seriously dangerous.
Response from sweetflag (Author of For Him)
Thank you for the review and the stars.I used to put the definitions in with the words, but for some reason, I stopped--bit daft of me really. My apologies for that. It will be remedied.Snape is just about to see how wound up he can get...Thank you for staying with the story :)

Couldn't someone just feed the Bella body with a strong dose of antipsychotic potion? But that would ruin the story, and we can't have that. It is too deliciously convuluted!
Response from sweetflag (Author of For Him)
Thank you again for the review.Yes, that would ruin her fun, and make everything far too easy for everyone else. Besides, the body is totally dead; no alimentary canal digests and absorbs, no hepatic portal vein carries... you get the idea, :) Maybe someone else will get the idea that the body is useful though... :DMany thanks for staying with the story :)

The more I read the more mysterious it becomes. I don't know where you're leading us but I'll more than gladly follow you anywhere in that path.

Thank you for the review and the stars. I have a map, so don't worry! :DThere will be a few bumps along the way yet, and I may take a wrong turning just for the fun of it.Sit back, enjoy the view, and if we get lost, just ask for directions... Thanks for staying with the story :)

Bellatrix: way too creepy. I'm considering hanging up a crucifx or something over my bed tonight ;-)Lucius and Narcissa: you captured that moment wonderfully. I had never thought that he felt actual love for her. I always saw her as kind of a trophy wife. And Hermione: poor girl. What has she gotten herself into?I have to admit that it's difficult for me to read your story, as English is not my mother tongue, but I cannot resist. the story is just to intriguing.
Response from sweetflag (Author of For Him)
Thank you for the review. I hope that you sleep well :DI thought that about Lucius and Narcissa for quite some time, but reading the scenes they shared in Deathly Hallows made me question that notion. I may be over-extending the idea, but I think that they had some deep affection for each other. In the case of this story, their affection/love is an important theme.Hermione... yes. I'm not entirely sure why I decided, quite spontaneously, to end the drabble in such a way--I'm sure that it may have killed the interest of some readers that Hermione is not encouraged by a mad passion for her Potions master (take heart though; it's not as dire or as strightforward as it appears). Wow and wow again! All I know in a foreign language is how to ask where the toilets are... a major requirement when travelling abroad while pregnant. I sympathise--my beta accuses me of being... florid and convoluted, and I am honoured that you stay with this story and my old-fashioned style of writing. If there are any queries regarding this story, then I will be more than happy to elaborate. And bear in mind, this is a Dictionary Drabble challenge using words that I have never heard of before; I agree, that the confusion may be all my own fault though... I waffle! Thank you so much for the closing compliment; I hope that this story unfolds in such a way that it continues to appeal... and that the ending is just as rewarding. Thanks :D

I have to tell you ... the best part of the whole chapter (for me) was the scene with Bella. You portrayed her insanity with such perfection my skin was crawling and I was seriously afraid. Wow.
Response from sweetflag (Author of For Him)
Thank you for the review and the stars. I really enjoyed writing that scene, and I am very happy that it came across well. I have plans for her... oh, such plans! *evil cackle*

The next chapter is in the queue and that should have brought me up to date as there are three drabbles in it--I've been working hard... lol.I hope that you enjoy the next chapter, I think that it refines some of the concepts bubbling round, and it begins the process of actually curing Snape--they all really need him up and about!Thank you once again.

I am getting a little confused. Perhaps it is the vocabulary usage. Is that a requirement for this fic? I am fairly well educated and over 50 years old and I have never seen some of the words used in this fic. It makes it difficult to follow the flow of the text. However, it could just be me. I take it Bella has broken through the curse and was able to be heard by Snape in his mind. Draco's behavior is perfectly understandable, if he is laying low and trying not to draw attention to himself. I am sure he does not need Slughorn to stir things up for him.
Response from sweetflag (Author of For Him)
Thank you for the review. Some words are required as part of the Drabble challenge, and those words are listed at the start of the chapter.Possibly, the nature and restrictions of the challenge are exacerbating the confusion--so much has to be slipped in into so few words. If you have any queries, then I'd be more than happy to elaborate--perhaps the same consternations bother other readers? I hadn't heard of some of the proffered words either, and I'm having great fun/frustration trying to incorporate them into 1,000 words... lol. Spot on with regards to Bella... and she discovers that she can do more than just be heard in his mind--next chapter :D

I enjoyed this very much and it even made me forget that it was such a long time since last chapter :)

Ah! A gentle scold ;P Real life has had me in its uncaring maw, but I have escaped--the next chapter (two drabbles) is in the queue as I type (lucky number seven!), and the next two are in the process of being frantically thought-up and written. I hope to catch up with the drabble challenge over the next few weeks. I am sorry that there has been a such a gap; it couldn't be helped... I will endeavour to make the next sets of drabbles worth the wait :DThank you for the review and the stars... and your patience :)

I'm even more addicted to this after each chapter. I can't wait next week to see what will happen. I just wonder what the title of this chapter means.

Thank you for the review, the rating and the wonderful compliment :) Ouroboros is the symbol of a snake or dragon eating its own tail and signifies cycles of energy, unity, infinity, or an immortal, perfectly created creature with no needs but itself, and as it devours itself, it also nourishes itself etc...
Response from sweetflag (Author of For Him)
Real life has temporarily taken over, and normal service will be resumed as soon as possible; we apologise for the inconvenience.I hope to get back to this as soon as possible, so I will do several drabbles together in one chapter when I have the chance... sorry about the huge lull.

I must admit to being a bit confused again with Draco suddenly showing up and being strangled by a snake. Why would someone want Draco dead now and how did the snake get there? I'm also a bit alarmed that Ron would threaten Malfoy with an Unforgivable because he shot his mouth off about Hermione.

Thank you again. There are many who were disgruntled at the lack of charges levied against the Malfoys; many fathers lost sons. More will be revealed and also, I have a plan with regards to Draco and Harry :D
