Hermione, Ginny and Luna, sharing a girl moment, decide to cast a Pairing-Plight Troth Charm on themselves for fun. Each placed in the cauldron one yesterday-today-and-tomorrow flower with sugar and spice and everything nice, and a snip, a snail and puppy-dog tail as they each said the rhyme. For Ginny, the results are exactly what she expected, and for Luna, she was only mildly surprised. However, for Hermione, the results were disastrous! She thought she’d be paired to Ron and live happily ever after. So what happened and why is she seeing Professor Snape in her dreams? He’s dead – isn’t he?

I love to write. A dreamer, a creator and filled with wonder, imagination and life. Sometimes I get lost in the other worlds I've read and in some I create. It's all good, I’m in good company.

“Imagination does not become great until human beings, given the courage and the strength, use it to create.”― Maria Montessori
“Our imagination flies -- we are its shadow on the earth.”― Vladimir Nabokov
“Imagination is everything. It is the preview of life's coming attractions.”― Albert Einstein

“Imagination will often carry us to worlds that never were, but without it we go nowhere.” ― Carl Sagan

I know that this chapter isn’t as ‘hot’ as the first three and that Severus seems to have cooled considerably.

Oh, I don't know about that, he's still pretty hot!

I love this story!

Response from beaweasley2 (Author of The Plight-Trothed Bride)

Thank you for the compliment. No, the first three were dreams, the fourth still under the influence of the spell. Unfortunately, this is an angry, mad at the situation Snape, who is basically using Hermione in a grudge sex. I’m glad that you still enjoyed the scene though. It wasn’t pretty, but things will get better later, I promise.

First of all, thank you so much for the update. I adore this plot, it is brilliant and you do a very good job writing it:-) And now, please remember that  I differ between the story and the author, I love your writing, but your Severus? What he did in the beginning of this chapter was very borderline to rape, however much he claims that he was forced into this situation, that  she performed the charm and that he is the victem etc etc, this not only repeated what a lously lover he is, it very nearly made him a rapist. I know that in the "dark ages" there was no such thing as rape between husband and wife, just "marrital rigths", but luckely most modern countries left that view decades ago. I know he didn't use violence, and she didn't say No, but as it was presented, he wouldn't have cared if she did as long as he got what he wanted. While I doubt that we will see fluff, romance and tender feelings from Severus any time soon, if at all in this story, I would like to at least consider him somewhat honourable. At the moment he is just as  immaturely whining as Ron, making both of them just as attractive, and I assure you that it not ment as a compliment.  And, I repeat, I honestly think you do a brilliant job writing it and if I hadn't been intrigued and cougth by your writing I would have stopped reading your story and never bother to review it. Your story is great and you write it so well that you make me react to your caracters and that is just what a good story should do! In my eyes, if a story only had nice caracters who where nice all the time, it would be a rather boring story. There is a limit though and I honestly think you should, as said not fluffy, but at least making Severus less of a petulant child and more like the war-hero he is supposed to  be. I love to rant and rave, but I would never whish a happy ending for Severus and Hermione in a story where he is sexually abusing her, no matter what reasons he feels he haves. And please, don't make Rita ruin Hermiones life too. However much punishment one thinks she deserves for performing the charm, with that "husband" of hers, the whining, annoying Ron, the Ministry, all breading down her neck, are soon making Azkaban look like a tempting solution, she does not deserve Rita Skeeter and her lies too. Update again soon!!!

Response from beaweasley2 (Author of The Plight-Trothed Bride)

You are very welcome for the update. I’m having fun writing this and I’m quite flattered that you like my style. In regards to Severus and Hermione’s first coupling in the pond – yes, and no. It wasn’t rape, but still under the influence of the spell. He was enticed to find her, drawn to her and still entranced. However, he is a ‘take charge’ lover, just like in the dreams. It wasn’t rape; aggressive yes, but she wanted him as much as he wanted her. She was just nervous and her first time. As for his bellyaching, his is grumbling a bit, mostly to Lucius, who is prodding him regarding his new mate. This is not a fluff piece, but it is a romance. I just don’t see these two falling into romance, but growing into one. Hermione will be there when things get bad for Severus, and she will stand by him. The question she will ask him is if he wants to give the Bonding a go… There is going to be a rough period. He will be the hero that he is, eventually.
I really enjoyed reading your review. You put a lot of time and thought in it and I appreciate your comments. I hope that the story as it progresses, I don’t disappoint.

Response from Sampdoria (Reviewer)

Just to correct, I wasn't thinking of their first time in the pond, that one had both of them "trapped" by the charm, I had no problems with that one. I was thinking about the beginning of this last chapter, the morning after his previous lousy go as lover. Their third time I think? That was the one I found borderline. He wanted sex and more or less took it.

Response from beaweasley2 (Author of The Plight-Trothed Bride)

Well, yes, that is what he did. Used her again for his own needs. He’s not yet at the considerate lover stage, and his actions are not really great at this point, no. Things will get better – I promise.

I love the mental picture that Snape painted for Narcissa. Grawp in the drawing room...

Response from beaweasley2 (Author of The Plight-Trothed Bride)

Yes, sweet, harmless Grawp, playing with the chandelier and poking at the portraits would be so amusing, isn’t it?

Well done, Kingsley! Very subtle - you'll be a great Minister. Poor Molly, she's so confused! But she's a Mom at the heart of it all, and will wait until she's taken care of her girl before grilling her further.

Great job - looking forward to more - lots of fun!

Response from beaweasley2 (Author of The Plight-Trothed Bride)

I like to think of Kingsley as a fairly well informed and capable wizard. Plus, he had his own reasons for doing what he did. It will come out in a later chapter. And, yes, Molly. Mum at heart and the consummate caregiver. She may be confused, but she wasn’t told everything – was she. Kind of the hard way to hear information, wasn’t it? Thank you for the compliment.

I am glad that Severus cooled down somewhat. I wonder why he still wants to see her. It's not like the bond makes them be in close contact, does it?

I am curious why Kingsley wants to meet Harry at the ministry. Is he going to use Harry's help to pardon Snape? I also wonder how much he is going to ask of Hermione. At least with Ginny and Luna having done the charm as well there should be enough proof that Hermione did the spell and not Severus.

Response from beaweasley2 (Author of The Plight-Trothed Bride)

Yes, Severus is coming to terms with is Bonding, slowly, and his actions are not yet the best, but he is accepting the union. He just doesn’t like it yet. I think he wants to see her because he can.
In regards to why Kingsley wants to see Harry, will be divulged in another chapter, so I don’t want to give it away too much here. As for the accusations, the Aurors are merely adding up charges to build a stronger case. Again, it will be sorted out later… I promise.

If a flame burns too hot for too long, it uses all its fuel and then sputters out. Best to let things gently simmer for a while if you'll pardon the mixed metaphores. Besides, I'm loving the plot element of this fic, although I was surprised at Rita being so bold when Hermione is already blackmailing her for being an unregistered animagus. Some people just can't help themselves. I can't wait for the next chapter, I hope Mrs M doesn't have an anuerism! ;)

Response from beaweasley2 (Author of The Plight-Trothed Bride)

Well, this flame is simmering, and the potion in the cauldron is still in the volatile stage, pardon my metaphors. I’m very happy you are enjoying the plot, I’m having fun typing it. Yes, I’m messing with Rita Skeeter, (Or she’s poking her nose around, which is what she does) and she’ll be back. Mrs.W. will be all right, she just got a bit of a surprise. Thank you for the nice review. I’ll update as soon as I can.

Response from beaweasley2 (Author of The Plight-Trothed Bride)

Oh, Yes, Severus will – eventually. I’ve a few curves planned first. And, Kingsley, well, he just needed to defuse the situation, and let Hermione know things are not as they seem. He he he…

Grrr. I don't like this selish with the sex Snape! Hermione should turn the tables on him and get hers and leave him wanting and see how he likes it! Ha! Bad Form, Severus!

Response from beaweasley2 (Author of The Plight-Trothed Bride)

When I started writing this my boyfriend said “oh, come on that’s not realistic, he’d be pissed off. He wouldn’t be all tender and loving, he’d be like – grudge sex at first, use her.” So I though, he’s a guy, I’ll give it a go. the selfish sex user will not last. He will soften. There are a few situations that will happen first, but he will come around. And yes, although Hermione isn’t giving ‘it to him’ she’s simply trying to do what he wants in hopes that he will come around and like her. Everyone keeps telling her that the spell matches the caster with their soul mate… So, she bottles it up a bit. Next chapter you’ll see a bit more of her feelings, Livvy.

I was so thrilled to see this updated!  As always, can't wait for the next chapter.  As for this one, why do I suspect Hermione wasn't quite as fulfilled as Severus?  Oh, he's going to get his!

Dang!  Skeeter is one pain in the arse!  I'm glad Kingsley showed up I'm sure it's to Severus's benifit.

Response from beaweasley2 (Author of The Plight-Trothed Bride)

Yes, Rita is a pain and an annoyance. And she’s not done yet! Yes, Kingsley is a bit more involved… but you’ll see more later. Yes, it’s to Severus’ benefit, that’s what he was trying to show Hermione. That it isn’t exactly as it all seems.

I really liked this chapter.

The idea that Narcissa Malfoy might throw a party with Hagrid and all the Order members had me laughing aloud.

Response from beaweasley2 (Author of The Plight-Trothed Bride)

Thank you for the support. Please just hang in there and wait. He's just feeling trapped - again, and under someone else's control - again. It won't take long, he'll come around. It will take me a chapter or a few... but I promise a happy ending. Really!

Can a witch get preganant from hot dream sex? I thought Lucius was being a good friend pointing out where the relevant books were. giggle giggle snort

Response from beaweasley2 (Author of The Plight-Trothed Bride)

Geeze, I’m not sure if a witch could? Interesting question. I’d think no, at least not in this story. I don’t write Lucius all that often, but I wanted to type him as Severus friend, long time, close friends. So a little good hearted banter seemed to fit them. I’m glad you liked the chapter. Thank you for the nice review.

Poor Hermione. She really did not know what she was getting herself into when she cast that charm.I hope Severus works through his anger quickly, and realises how luck he is to have been bonded to his soul mate. How often can one say their soul mate brought them out of a coma? And I love the way you have brought the idea of Muggle folklore (fairytales) into Wizarding everyday life.

Response from beaweasley2 (Author of The Plight-Trothed Bride)

Nope, she didn’t. Luna and Ginny did though, so you would have thought that they would have explained things better, but Hermione allowed herself to get wrapped up in the idea of finding her soul mate, so she didn’t really seem to stop and think about it too much beforehand. I think she actually believed that she and Ron would be paired up… Surprise!

As for Severus, I’m actually have my boyfriend following this story, (and he’s been so cute about it), and he keeps telling me how he’d react to the situation. The Funny thing is, his comments have made for a rather interesting twist to my original plans for Severus that I’ve been using his remarks and they work… So, Severus is going to react like a guy would expect him to. Fun, huh?

And the use of the fairytales (or witchtales if you’re a witch) reference; I simply thought it’d add a slight twist into the story, a bit of frivolity and whimsy. I’m glad you liked it.

I'm very glad you like the story. Thank you very much for your reveiw. Hope you like what comes next...

Shadow

Very intense scene. I am glad you showed how awkward and strange the real thing was for Hermione, big difference from the dreams!

Response from beaweasley2 (Author of The Plight-Trothed Bride)

Yes, I wanted the reality to be real, to be more like a first time would be, pain, discomfort and all. Also Severus was a bit rough with her, for all that he was still unfer the influence of the spell. Unfortunately, reality isn't always as we imagine things would be in our dreams and fantasies.

0/10

Shadow

I can't wait to see Hermione's reaction when she sees Severus is very much alive and wanting her.I think he is going to blow a brain cell when he realises they will be bonded together!

Response from beaweasley2 (Author of The Plight-Trothed Bride)

Well so far all we’ve seen are magically enhanced beguiling and seductive dreams. But yes, they will come together, by the pull of the spell to consummate their union and seal their bond, however still under the effects o f the spell. Oh, she’ll be surprised but she won’t be about to fight it any more than he can. You’ll see. And yes, their individual reactions will be… intense, insecure, and exactly as you’d expect. Maybe.

Well, one can understand why he is so pissed of. Who would not be? Hopefully Lucious will help him see some sense (kind of strange to look to Lucius for sense)... Look forward to the next chapter..

Response from beaweasley2 (Author of The Plight-Trothed Bride)

Thank you. I’m not sure if Lucius is actually going to be able to talk some sense into Severus just yet… But ol’ Lucius is being rather supportive, isn’t he.
