The need to survive is ingrained within the human psyche, but where does self-preservation end and self-destruction begin? Hermione is captured by Death Eaters and is held hostage by Snape and Pettigrew, but she comes up with a plan to escape. Not a romance.

Right. I would like to state, for the record, that I WILL finish "She Married Her Choice". I will. Assuming I am in control of my own destiny and accomplishments, that is. ;-)
Unfortunately, real life (mainly an attention craving three-year-old) and inspiration have been keeping me from creative endeavors for a while now. I do foresee a time when that shall pass, but until then, I ask for your patience.
Thank you!

I don't know how much more of wormtail I can take, I love the story, but eeww. Look forward to the next chapter I think, lol.
Response from averygoodun (Author of Traitor)
Well, 'fraid to say that Wormtail is pretty much a fixture for the rest of the story. ;-) Thanks!
Snape is so cold. It almost makes Wormtail seem nice, if he wasn't Wormtail. You need to update soon. I'm not joking. Good chapter. :)
Response from averygoodun (Author of Traitor)
Yeah, if he weren't Wormtail. ;-) Tomorrow soon enough? Thanks!
Amazing!!!!! Wow, Pettigrew is gross, but so realistic. Hermione is really smart and very in character. Great job.
Response from averygoodun (Author of Traitor)
Thank you!
oooooooohhh. Oh loved that. Him standing in the doorway, looking all snide and vague. Your Snape is fabulous. I love mean, cruel, calculated Snape-ishness.
Response from averygoodun (Author of Traitor)
Only looking? I thought he was acting quite snide as well. *pouts* ;-D Thank you!
Wow g/f you're rocking my socks! I still prefer a toxic Snape to a toxic Pettigrue, but hell tall dark and dangerous is just more appealing than short, fat and dangerous. Lol I love the rollercoster ride this story is taking the reader, and you are doing an excelent job on psycholgical warfare. See you next chapter!
Response from averygoodun (Author of Traitor)
Yeah, I suppose so. Certainly Hermione thinks so. Thanks!
I can't figure Snape out!
Response from averygoodun (Author of Traitor)
Maybe you'll have a better idea by the end? If not, the follow up piece (that isn't quite done) should answer any lingering questions.
I hope the next update is soon. I'm going crazy to know how this story is going to end up.
Response from averygoodun (Author of Traitor)
The next chapter will be up today, tonight at the latest. Cheers!
this story is like crack...i just want more and more, i love the fast updates and your portayl of snape and the lenghs he will go through to mess with her head is just, well great seems an odd word, but very interesting.
be agressive be-e agressive and give me more of my crack
Response from averygoodun (Author of Traitor)
Hmm... comparison to drugs... I'll think I'll take it as a compliment. Snape is definitely interesting, in my mind anyway. The next chapter will be up today or tonight. Thanks!
Response from athena (Reviewer)
lol yea drugs... i live in the wellness house at school so ti can only guess that i would want the next chpt as a drug addict would want drugs :)
As always I'm left with so many questions. Can't wait for the next chapter. :)
Response from averygoodun (Author of Traitor)
The next chapter may answer some of them, but hopefully it'll raise a few of its own. :-) Update should be today or tonight! Thanks.
Ohhh I just cannot wait until Snape gets wind of this. It should be quite a performance!
Response from averygoodun (Author of Traitor)
Mmm. Next chapter will be up soon.
*screams!!!*
Response from averygoodun (Author of Traitor)
Heheheh. A wee bit frustrated, are we?
I just love a thinking Hermione. Smart too, using a middle aged man's insecurities against him for her own gain. Since he holds her hostage I've no complaints!
Response from averygoodun (Author of Traitor)
Cheers!
Found a wee mistake!
At the top of the chapter you wrote: ' “Get up now!” Snape barked, prompting her back into action. She quickly got up and put on her shoes – there was nothing else for her to put on – and watched Snape. ' ... but when she's left in Wormtail's room, and Snape leaves, Hermione is unbuttoning robes... “Good,” she said, as she slipped off her shoes and started unbuttoning the robe. “Because I've been thinking of you.”
Response from averygoodun (Author of Traitor)
She sleeps in her robes. ;-)
Hmmm - is Peter becoming jealous, maybe a little possessive? Could he delude himself into thinking that HG likes or prefers his company to that of Severus? That could prove interesting.
Personally, from something in the 1st chapter, Pt. 1, I think SS is attempting to protect HG, as much as he can in the situation. Not in a romantic way, but as a member of the Order. [I'm one of those delusional people who believe in the goodness of Severus Snape.]
Response from averygoodun (Author of Traitor)
Could be, could be. You may be delusional, you might not be. You'll have to be the judge of that in the end. Thanks!
i love this story :) keep it up
Response from averygoodun (Author of Traitor)
Thanks! More soon.
As usual a superb story. I believe Hermione is showing early symptoms of Stolkholmes syndrome (sp?). I may be wrong. As a respone to 'Why Snape as apposed to Pettigrue, both are toxic' I simply like Snape better. Actually I am a certified Snapoholic. This character simply captures my imagination. I know it's not logical, what can I say? Actually I'm working on a story where he will be a prominate secondary character, maybe I should have you review lol. Three cheers for your story. I love it !!
Response from averygoodun (Author of Traitor)
Yes, Hermione is showing signs of Stockholm Syndrome.
I'm a Snapoholic as well, but in this story... well, as I said, both characters are toxic for her. Snape's psychological torture is as bad or worse than Pettigrew's skuzz and sleaze factor. But that's just my opinion. :-) Thanks!
All these intense head games have got to result in an explosion somewhere, so I can't wait to see when and where. Love the final monologue as Wormtail sweats it out.
Response from averygoodun (Author of Traitor)
Yes, it will be rather explosive. Shocking, even. Thanks!
What is Snape thinking? I keep wanting to believe that his revelation at the end of part one will mean something but I dare not hope.
Response from averygoodun (Author of Traitor)
I refuse to say. And, well, anything is possible. ;-)
This story is so well written. I want to say that I love it, but love is not what I feel when I read this. Hermione's thought process is so realistic that it's scary. In this chapter alone I feel proud, scared, saddened and disgusted all at the same time. I actually get a chill down my back every time I see an update because I know what the power of your words will do to me. However, the story is so good that I wouldn?t miss it for the world. Great job. Oh, and I have to say it, Peter.....yuck.
Response from averygoodun (Author of Traitor)
Thank you, kindly! I'm glad you're into it, and hope you are thrilled with the entire ride.
And yes, Wormtail is gross. Very, very gross. Thanks for thinking so.
OOoooooo What is Snape thinking?
Response from averygoodun (Author of Traitor)
That is the question, isn't it?
First tendrils of jealousy in Wormtail... I wonder what you're going to do with this. And I'm utterly curious of Snape's intentions, his questions were confusing. Why did he feel the need to reassert his power over her?
Response from averygoodun (Author of Traitor)
Yep. I think it's rather obvious what I'm going to do with it, but then again, I wrote it. ;-) And Snape did that for many reasons that I can't explain at this time.
Response from averygoodun (Author of Traitor)
Or rather, I won't explain at this time. ;-)
Interesting. Very interesting. I can't wait to see where this is headed.
Response from averygoodun (Author of Traitor)
Thanks!
