The need to survive is ingrained within the human psyche, but where does self-preservation end and self-destruction begin? Hermione is captured by Death Eaters and is held hostage by Snape and Pettigrew, but she comes up with a plan to escape. Not a romance.

Right. I would like to state, for the record, that I WILL finish "She Married Her Choice". I will. Assuming I am in control of my own destiny and accomplishments, that is. ;-)
Unfortunately, real life (mainly an attention craving three-year-old) and inspiration have been keeping me from creative endeavors for a while now. I do foresee a time when that shall pass, but until then, I ask for your patience.
Thank you!
Reviews for Traitor
As I first started reading this I thought that I'd have to stop because of certain *ahem* parts, but you managed to write it so well from Hermione's POV that I continued till the very end.I also liked the small sections of introspection from Snape and Wormtail, they added that little extra. It's just what I was looking for to feed the not-so-light side of me very nicely. Thanks.~lux~

Thank you for the wonderful compliment!
Aw, that's it? I loved your Snape, but that ending was so sad. Great story.
Response from averygoodun (Author of Traitor)
Yep, that's it. I think of it as rather tragic, myself. :-| Thank you!
Fantastic job. I?d written a review for you before but it seems to have gone away...it was all about Snape being the anti-Dumbledore...or something like that. I just wanted to leave a review for the records. You have written a story that takes three characters who seem so black and white, and managed to evolve them into complicated shades of gray. Thank you so very much.

Thank you for rereviwing! I was really quite bummed to lose the thoughtful reviews such as yours.
Cheers!
I really liked this story. Your writing is concise and still carries a punch. Wonderful.
Response from averygoodun (Author of Traitor)
Thank you!
Go Hermione! I'm so glad she learned how to intimidate him. Congrats on part one too.
Response from averygoodun (Author of Traitor)
Well, all it takes is confidence... although that is hard to come by in such circumstances.
Thank you!
I see Hermione is finally starting to use her head in this situation. I hope it doesn't backfire on her.
I'm worried about Snape and how he is going to react when he awakens.
You really do an amazing job with the characters. They are each distinct from each other, and exactly in the right ways. I've always been extremely impressed with your ability to write Snape, and I see you are doing an equally good job with Wormtail as well.
I look forward to the next update, although I'm a little scared about what's going to be in it!
Response from averygoodun (Author of Traitor)
Yes, and one can only hope it doesn't get her into serious trouble.
Thank you! You know I had trouble writing Wormtail, so thank you, thank you, thank you!
Next update will be tonight (or tomorrow morning), and... don't be scared. It's not so very bad. ;-)
Ew... I wonder if he thinks she is one of his "belongings"?
Response from averygoodun (Author of Traitor)
Probably, although I'll leave that up to you. ;-)
Yeaaa a longer chapter! I'm so enjoying this and love that we get a new update every other day or so! (and if you wanna know looonnng chapters, you should see what I write and what poor Southern Witch has to wade through, LOL!) Can't wait for more from you!
Response from averygoodun (Author of Traitor)
Hehheheh. If this were a chapter from "She Married Her Choice," one of my other stories, it would be microscopic. For this piece, however, it's monstrous.
Thanks and I'll update in a couple of days!
Well now I feel bad for my review of the last chapter complaining about the length, how exciting it was to come back and find a new chapter. Can't wait for more.
Response from averygoodun (Author of Traitor)
Don't. The previous chapter was terribly short. This one just happens to be quite long (might be the longest, actually).
Next update won't be for a couple days, I'm afraid.
Wow two chapters in one day. I feel so much better. I see Hermione is starting to take control, of course she's only warming up with Pettigrue. As usual you chapters entrance me. Keep up the great work! ~Carla~
Response from averygoodun (Author of Traitor)
Downside being that the next update won't be for a coupleofdays. :-(
Thank you!
Interesting shift of perspective, though the part about Snape being a light sleeper have me worried.
Response from averygoodun (Author of Traitor)
Yes, that is worrisome, isn't it?
Hmmmmm. Now we get to see a bit of Peter's true colors. I hope he's as fun to hate as Snape, but somehow I don't think so. I like the way you've portrayed him--very different from Snape, and it seems really accurate. He lacks the subtlety and finesse that Snape drips with. But that untamed bluntness (Gryffindorishness?) makes him even more scary--a loose cannon if I ever saw one. Yikes, yikes, yikes.
Response from averygoodun (Author of Traitor)
I don't know if it'll be fun to hate Wormtail (or should I call him Peter?), but it should be easy enough. Thanks!
*rubs hands gleefully* I hope that nice dollop of insight gives you some serious heartburn, you big fink!
Response from averygoodun (Author of Traitor)
You know, I think it might. But that would just make his disposition even worse, so maybe we should hope he accepts it with grace.
Very well done! So, will we see part 2 start tomorrow?
Response from averygoodun (Author of Traitor)
Thanks and yes! I got the next chapter back tonight, so I'll put it up tomorrow!
Yay for quick updates. Another great chapter. Goodbye part one, hello part two.
Response from averygoodun (Author of Traitor)
Yes, although the updates are going to slow down for a bit. One every other day or so. Thanks!
Keep the chapters coming. I think the suspense is almost as bad as the tension you create with every new installment.
Response from averygoodun (Author of Traitor)
The updating pace is going to slow up for a bit, but only a little. I hope it maintains its tension throughout. :-) Thanks!
Ok, now THAT was a short chapter!
Well, Hermione had a lapse in judgement. Hmm, I wonder what will happen when when she comes to.
Response from averygoodun (Author of Traitor)
Yes, it was, but it packed a whollop, didn't it?
AAAAHHHHH! How could you stop it there! SOBS! SHUDDERS, CRIES & KICKES FEET AND POUNDS ON FLOOR! Are you sure you aren't a sadist? I love your story even if its an evil Snape. Ok I'm in for the long haul since this chapter was short can I beg a quick update? Lots of love & I hope you get lots of reviews. Carla
Response from averygoodun (Author of Traitor)
LOL. No, not sure at all. Cheers, dear.
Aaaargh! It is so way too short have mercy on us you give us these snippits you call chapters and we are left desperate for more......have pity on us and upload faster!
Response from averygoodun (Author of Traitor)
Unfortunately for you, my beta comes first, which is why I have been so... erm, restrained? when it comes to updating. The next few chapters are going to be a bit slower coming, but not much.
Thank you!
Well, I'm rotten at suspense and since you've made it clear this is "not a romance", I've been very twitchy reading this.? You've made your characters with a lot of depth so it's not so simple to predict what they'll do next.? I do think Hermione would be smart enough to back Snape over Wormtail, though, and I can't quite see her actually believing that consorting with Wormtail would actually get her anywhere good.? Perhaps that realization occurs in Part II.? I appreciate the regular updates (did I mention I'm poor at suspense? ;)) and am still hoping for a relatively happy ending.? [As in, free Snape and dead Wormtail.]? ?But, I'll enjoy the ride you're providing here.? Thanks for your work!
Response from averygoodun (Author of Traitor)
What can I say besides thanks? Hermione had to force herself to relax around Wormtail, and, well, didn't get her guard up again fast enough when Snape came back.
I hope you'll enjoy the ending, although it's not what I would call 'happy.'
Love the updates! Great chapters (Snape is a bit more kind - if you can say that!) with lots of snark and tension. I look forward to more (I sure hope Harmione doesn't have to actually let Wormtail touch her....ugh...I might not eat all day after reading it!)
Response from averygoodun (Author of Traitor)
Thanks! Um, yeah, might want to prepare yourself for a fast.
