Third installment in the 'Fairy God-Jarvey Chronicles.' (For the record, I, too, cringe at the pretentiousness of calling them that.) As a Master Fairy God-Jarvey, Regina Fletcher gets an apprentice. However, it's going to take more than two Fairy God-Thingies to rescue Severus' and Hermione's wedding. So, if said thingies needed reinforcements... whom would they deputize?

Mostly Harmless! Though I have to admit, I'm even stranger than I appear. ;-) There's a pile of unbeta'd stuff on my LJ (dracfic) if you're interested in Raw, Untamed, fanfic.
Believe it or not, "How Argus Filch Got Wild, Got Laid, and Got His Magic" has been rec'ed by Know It Alls! It's true! They gave me this pretty lil' ribbon and everything! And in March 2007, they saw fit to likewise reccommend (as an antidote to angst) the story that started it all, 'Courtesy of Your Fairy God-Jarvey'--just in time for the first anniversary of that story's posting! *hugs Harm*
(I also have to admit that 'mostly harmless' may not be the most apt description of a member of the Mad Chatters...)
Finally, I just have to say... Storyville. If you were there, you know what I mean.Reviews for The Fairy God-Jarvey's Apprentice
Thank you for the points, Dracontia m'dear...I'm glad to hear that Hermione's wedding to Severus hasn't been postponed by any second thoughts on either his or her account.
Yes, I figured out that Motoyoshi would have to be a kappa -- especially considering that he might find it incredibly handy (not to mention incredibly important, given his current occupation) to carry a hishaku around with him at all times in order to refill the depression in the top of his head, since it would inevitably empty itself whenever he bowed and leave him without his magical powers (possibly his life as well, if I'm not mistaken). I can almost picture him...the words "sad sack" and forlorn earnestness" say it all (poor li'l guy)! Given his appearance, it's all too clear why his wizard family doesn't want him around if they want to blend in with Muggles...but why does Motoyoshi's own family not want him?
Response from dracontia (Author of The Fairy God-Jarvey's Apprentice)
You're very welcome! Your reasoning regarding the hishaku was spot on, of course. It will also see some other interesting uses in the course of this little adventure. I hope my brother will let me borrow his scanner, so I can scan in the sketch I made of Motoyoshi and Reggie. Sad Sack and Miss Snarky ride again! As to Moto's family--well, that's a tale all its own, and we might even get to it before this story is through!
What wouldn't a Kappa be doing in a bathtub? In Harvest Moon: More Friends of Mineral Town (the girl version), you can marry a Kappa. He loves cucumbers and fish, but when you marry him, he doesn't move in with you.
Moto sounds cute...I like him! I can't remember, does Severus know that Reggie is Hermione's God-Jarvey? Anyway, I love the way this story is going so far, keep it up!
Response from dracontia (Author of The Fairy God-Jarvey's Apprentice)
Hmm. Marry a Kappa? I suppose Motoyoshi could be considered an eligible bachelor, in that case! I'll have to borrow my brother's scanner and upload my sketches of Reggie and Moto one of these days. LOLI can see where the not-moving-in-part would be an advantage, really. Saves having damp sheets and being forced to deal with a creature famous for its flatulance! Severus figured out Reggie's true status at the end of Return of the Fairy God-Jarvey. Next chapter is in the corrections phase; hopefully it's up to snuff. Thanks for reviewing!
"Besides, he was certain he’d never be quite as annoying as Alexander Granger." I laughed so hard I scared the cat when I read that line. Note to Severus: De-nile is not just a river in Egypt.
I do hope that Reggie is conjuring a backbone for Hermione. Not that I'm unsympathetic; there's nothing more horrific than the mother of the bride in full wedding-quest mode.
Great fun!
Response from dracontia (Author of The Fairy God-Jarvey's Apprentice)
I'm starting a punchline hall of fame. You've just nominated the top entry in the category, "Lines that inspire laughter loud enought to scare the cat."Poor Hermione. We'll go over her psychological problems in a little more depth later. First, however, the important stuff--like, parties! Booze! Mayhem! Wheee! Thanks for the review!
Second verse, as funny as the first.
Response from dracontia (Author of The Fairy God-Jarvey's Apprentice)
Hee hee... I just hope you'll still be able to say that seven (or is it eight?) verses from now! Thanks for reviewing!
Darling, I'm in love with you. Oh, a sequel! I gave a shout when I saw this was in the lineup, and as I read it I couldn't stop grinning. Your stories are so vibrant, fun, and so, so well written. Thank you for continuing this series. *big happy hugs*
Response from dracontia (Author of The Fairy God-Jarvey's Apprentice)
*blushes* Oh dear... In love? Whatever will Mr. Alfred say?Thank you very kindly for the review! I think I'll toddle off now, to finish tidying up Chapters 5 and 6. I don't want to leave any of Reggie's good friends hanging!
Response from Mrs Alfred (Reviewer)
Ha! If queried, Mr. Alfred would puzzled. He'd then start listing Eros, Storge, Philia, and Agape. I *might* be able to head him off with a snog. I promise to sacrifice myself in pursuit of knowledge. Off I go...er, it may take awhile to get back to the keyboard. :-)I do adore good authors though. I am very grateful to have the opportunity to read authors like yourself. Now, I could say that I philia you, but that just sounds weird. However, I do. :-)*giggle* Take care.
Oh, I love Reggie! I can't wait to see what she gets up to this time!
Response from dracontia (Author of The Fairy God-Jarvey's Apprentice)
Reggie is up to plenty, and with a cast of dozens to babysit this time, she has her paws full! Good thing Moto is there to 'help'. Thanks for sharin' the love!!
The image of Reggie's cute little snout, pretty pink tutu and cesspool mouth always makes me grin like an idiot...very, very happy to see another Fairy God-Jarvey story launching!
Response from dracontia (Author of The Fairy God-Jarvey's Apprentice)
Funny you should use the word 'launching'... have you been spying on chapter 3 or 4? LOL Thanks very kindly for the review!
*giggle*More! More!
Response from dracontia (Author of The Fairy God-Jarvey's Apprentice)
More giggles? I think the Jarvey can oblige. Thanks for reviewing!
Oh goody! I love Reggie!
Response from dracontia (Author of The Fairy God-Jarvey's Apprentice)
Reggie is feeling the love! More Jarvey action, coming right up--thanks for stopping by!
Squeeeee! Reggies's back, You're back! Squeeeee! The creatively cursing, insanely irritated, big-hearted FG-J is back! More, more, more! Soon, please....... ~

Response from dracontia (Author of The Fairy God-Jarvey's Apprentice)
Your wish is our command. More is in the queue, including the identity of Motoyoshi, plenty of cursing, irritation, and pure insanity! Thanks for reviewing!
Hooray! A third installment! And I'm sure it will be just as hilarious as the first two. It's already off to a good start.
Response from dracontia (Author of The Fairy God-Jarvey's Apprentice)
Thank you! Third installment, rolling right along--I only hope I can maintain the standards set by the series thus far. (Depending on which standards you consider, that may not be so difficult... *snerk*)
Oh, goody...another appearance from everyone's favorite she-jarvey! I'm glad -- Reggie really is a delight. I'm a little curious, though, as to exactly what sort of creature is Motoyoshi -- or is that something you're keeping as a surprise? He's obviously not a jarvey because he's much too polite, but it sounds as though he must be a magical beastie of some sort since he mentions a wizard master and the fact that his appearance would attract unwanted attention if a Muggle saw him. So what exactly is he?
Response from dracontia (Author of The Fairy God-Jarvey's Apprentice)
Thanks kindly for the review! As to Motoyoshi's identity, that will be revealed in Chapter 1. In the meantime, feel free to brush up on Japanese Mythology and make a guess!
Response from MlleGigi (Reviewer)
Well, I did as you suggested and took a look into Japanese mythological creatures. I'm assuming that he's not a tanuki! Although I can see how a jarvey (being so rude and crude) might get a kick out of being assigned a tanuki as an apprentice, Motoyoshi doesn't appear to have the tanuki taste for mischief and jollity -- and he seems too polite to be a mooch. I have a hard time believing that Motoyoshi is a kitsune either, since most Muggles would simply assume at a casual glance that he's an ordinary fox -- I grant you that a fox with extra tails carrying a hishaku and furoshiki might attract some attention, but surely he could always shape-shift? You mention that Motoyoshi has "hands" and not paws...is he a tengu, or perhaps a kappa? Although I've read that kappas can be placated by man and are actually polite and trustworthy, it seems unlikely that Motoyoshi is one given their predilection for drowning people...
Response from dracontia (Author of The Fairy God-Jarvey's Apprentice)
I congratulate you upon your most excellent research! You have narrowed it down to two choices, one of which is 100% correct. So, for ten points to the House of your choice, which is it? The Kappa or the Tengu?
Response from MlleGigi (Reviewer)
I won't say what Motoyoshi is here, because I don't want to spoil your surprise for everyone else -- but I think that I've figured out which one he is. I'll try not to give it away -- if my guess is correct, he has a very distinctive feature which is related to one of the items which Reggie tells him to bring AND which explains how he probably became the servant of a wizard.
Oh, by the way...those points should go to Ravenclaw House (but I imagine that you figured that out already)
Ja mata, Dracontia-san!
Woohoo! The professor is back! This chapter was excellent, and Reggie is forever cute.*refrains from begging for more*
Response from dracontia (Author of The Fairy God-Jarvey's Apprentice)
*professor looks for her glasses*Ah! There you are, Professor! Good to hear from you again. More is on the way. Hopefully it's amusing enough that you won't have to resort to begging for less! (That will be a bit of a trick, as each subsequent chapter is about six times as long as this one...)Thanks for reviewing!
A sequel. I'm already ROFL with that firs chapter. If Reggie ever found out whose fault: priceless.
Response from dracontia (Author of The Fairy God-Jarvey's Apprentice)
*bows* Thank you. Reggie's always glad to help tidy up--we'll see your floors clean, even if we have to roll you on them to do it! (It's all good, clean fun but for the Jarvey's mouth.) Cheers!
Yay! Reggie's back! Dracontia's computer is back!Hang on, you still haven't told us what Motoyoshi is. I've got a good mind not to rate you for that (only kidding)
Response from dracontia (Author of The Fairy God-Jarvey's Apprentice)
*looking very sheepish* I promise I'll tell you in Chapter 1 (which will be about 7 times longer than this one to make up for it.) I want to save some jokes for later chapters, after all!Reggie and I are thrilled for the rating and just plain thrilled to be back in action! Thanks!
Oh I love you...no, seriously...I really do!
I love Reggie, I love the characterisation of Hermione and Snape and I found this and actually squealed.
Response from dracontia (Author of The Fairy God-Jarvey's Apprentice)
Oh, my... a declaration of love? That's a new wrinkle. Thank you! *blushes*I anticipate the next chapter entering the queue soon after the echoes of the squeal fade. Thank you kindly for reviewing! :-)
Woohoo! Eagerly awaiting the next chapter.
Response from dracontia (Author of The Fairy God-Jarvey's Apprentice)
Thank you! Next chapter is in the queue. :-)
If only those drink mixers were real. *sigh* Lovely chapter, dear. Very very funny. (But if I were Ginny, I would have high-tailed it out of there as soon as my mom walked in; Tonks and Hermione be damned! *lol*)
Response from dracontia (Author of The Fairy God-Jarvey's Apprentice)
I sure could use those nifty little vials myself... definitely makes "I'll have what she's having" a lot more meaningful! And I'm with you on the mom thing. Blech! Thanks for the review!
So far, I think that this is very bit as amusing as the other Fairy God-Jarvey stories; looking forward to the next chapter. Well done.
Response from dracontia (Author of The Fairy God-Jarvey's Apprentice)
Thank you! Reggie and I are firm believers in quality control, so maintaining amusement levels is job one. Well, we definitely believe in quality--control, maybe not so much...;)
I particularly enjoyed the episode with Rita Skeeter, and the flight of the men from the club. And everything else as well. Actually, I liked the whole chapter.
Response from dracontia (Author of The Fairy God-Jarvey's Apprentice)
Thanks! I shall endeavor to ensure that all subsequent chapters are likeable as well! :)
“I wouldn’t mention piano wire just now, if I were you.” LOL! Loved Moto and Skeeter, the bubble bikini and the twins' drink mixers. And the young man hitting on Minerva! And the evil cliffie! Can't wait to read more.
Response from dracontia (Author of The Fairy God-Jarvey's Apprentice)
Thank you very much! Once upon a time, this chapter was not an evil cliffie--it just got so huge, it either had to be split or cause my very nice beta reader and the very nice admins very nasty headaches.I do hope chapter 4 (almost up) will prove equally satisfactory!(And hopefully, piano tuners everywhere are keeping a close eye on their supplies...)
That was the funniest chapter yet. Makes me want to get in the 'spirit'...
Response from dracontia (Author of The Fairy God-Jarvey's Apprentice)
I'll drink to that--here's to the remaining chapters being even funnier! Thank you kindly for the review!
"I have a checkered past, mijo." May I use that phrase as my motto? Please?
Response from dracontia (Author of The Fairy God-Jarvey's Apprentice)
LOL! I'm sure Reggie wouldn't mind, as long as you add a little silver-and-pink 'TM' after it, in ackowledgement of its origins. :-)
All of this plotting is bound to have bad consequences. You're leading the action like a good "pièce de boulevard" (a play in which quidproquos provokes very funny situations).
Response from dracontia (Author of The Fairy God-Jarvey's Apprentice)
Well... I guess your definition of 'bad consequences' depends on whether you're reading it or experiencing it. Because on the reading end, I can pretty well promise the consequences will be quite amusing!I love the term 'piece de boulevard'... it fits so well with the title of the chapter. Thanks ever so much for an enlightening review!
Loved it. Too darn funny! Can't wait for more!
Response from dracontia (Author of The Fairy God-Jarvey's Apprentice)
Your wait is over! More, and hopefully funnier, has posted--and the rest is nearing completion. Thanks for reviewing!
