Third installment in the 'Fairy God-Jarvey Chronicles.' (For the record, I, too, cringe at the pretentiousness of calling them that.) As a Master Fairy God-Jarvey, Regina Fletcher gets an apprentice. However, it's going to take more than two Fairy God-Thingies to rescue Severus' and Hermione's wedding. So, if said thingies needed reinforcements... whom would they deputize?

Mostly Harmless! Though I have to admit, I'm even stranger than I appear. ;-) There's a pile of unbeta'd stuff on my LJ (dracfic) if you're interested in Raw, Untamed, fanfic.
Believe it or not, "How Argus Filch Got Wild, Got Laid, and Got His Magic" has been rec'ed by Know It Alls! It's true! They gave me this pretty lil' ribbon and everything! And in March 2007, they saw fit to likewise reccommend (as an antidote to angst) the story that started it all, 'Courtesy of Your Fairy God-Jarvey'--just in time for the first anniversary of that story's posting! *hugs Harm*
(I also have to admit that 'mostly harmless' may not be the most apt description of a member of the Mad Chatters...)
Finally, I just have to say... Storyville. If you were there, you know what I mean.Reviews for The Fairy God-Jarvey's Apprentice
I have enjoyed the series from beginning to end. An update was always worth a "woo hoo!"and a mini happy dance on my couch. I am saddened to see it has come to an end, but thank you so much for such creative and excellent writing.
Response from dracontia (Author of The Fairy God-Jarvey's Apprentice)
Reggie and I are delighted that we are able to provide such enjoyment, and we hope to see you again in the last few installments of the series!
That was lovely. A wonderful ending to the story. Is this the last we will hear of Moto and Reggie?
Response from dracontia (Author of The Fairy God-Jarvey's Apprentice)
*shuffles feet* I could pull a JKR and say 'that would be telling', but--I don't make enough money to get away with that sort of thing. In fact, I make no money at all, so I get away with very little. LOL
There will be exactly 3 more stories about Reggie, and one about Moto, all on his own, before the series is complete. If all goes well, the next installment, about Reggie's origin, will be on its way to Tempest for beta reading by tonight. Thank you very much for reviewing!
Another wonderful endeavor!!!
Response from dracontia (Author of The Fairy God-Jarvey's Apprentice)
*bows* Thank you very much!
I'll say it again: I just love these stories. I'm so glad you wrote them and I found them to read. Thanks.
Response from dracontia (Author of The Fairy God-Jarvey's Apprentice)
Thank you, for the kind words!--I'm glad you found them, too, if they please you so. :-)
Another Reggie story comes to a close, and as always it's hard to let it go, but nobody could ask for a sweeter ending. Standing ovation to you and Tempest of Dreams for everything you do to make the snark shine.
Response from dracontia (Author of The Fairy God-Jarvey's Apprentice)
*bows* Thank you kindly. Reggie and I are absolutely chuffed to the ears that Tempest agreed to take us on--The ride is even bumpier before she sorts the punctuation!
We vow to maintain the balance of snarky and sweet through the remaining 3 installments in the series.
What a sweet epilogue to a delightful story. I'm looking forward to learning about Reggie's background (thanks for providing the information concerning why Moto isn't welcome among his kappa family in the last chapter, by the way). I notice that Moto has started referring to Snape in the Reggie manner..."the Snarky One". Hee hee hee!
By the way, if memory serves, Linda Ronstadt also recorded a version of "When I Fall In Love" on one of the three albums she recorded with the Nelson Riddle Orchestra -- not certain at the moment which one, though.
Response from dracontia (Author of The Fairy God-Jarvey's Apprentice)
LOL Yes, Motoyoshi has learned well at the paws of the Master!! He really is a noble little soul, who may even have a tale of his own mission to tell, one day.
I shouldn't wonder if the Linda Ronstadt rendition of 'When I Fall In Love' isn't amongst my parents' albums somewhere...
Thank you very kindly for stopping by to review!
Thanks for this story. The ride was bumpy, which, in a strange way, made it even more enjoyable.
Response from dracontia (Author of The Fairy God-Jarvey's Apprentice)
LOL Well, the course of true love never did run smooth... but with Reggie around, everyone's bound to reach their destination in (more or less) one piece! Thank you for reviewing.
Very funny. I always enjoy your stories. Thanks for writing them.
Response from dracontia (Author of The Fairy God-Jarvey's Apprentice)
Thank you kindly for reviewing them! Fairy God Jarveys and their gag writers get paid solely in reviews, so each one is appreciated. :-)
Fabulous! Loved it! Broke out laughing at one point and nearly spit on my keyboard! You can grow as many more chapters as you want, as far as I'm concerned. I love your Fairy God-Jarvey stories.
Response from dracontia (Author of The Fairy God-Jarvey's Apprentice)
Uh-oh... better start posting the 'Don't eat or wrink while reading this' warnings again! Thank you for the praise, and I hope to come up with at least 3 more Fairy God Jarvey stories to finish the series, though this one must come to its natural conclusion very soon. :-)
I enjoyed seeing Rose make an appearance here. It was a nice touch.BTW, if the plural of mouse is mice, shouldn't the plural of spouse be spice?
Response from dracontia (Author of The Fairy God-Jarvey's Apprentice)
Thank you! I didn't want to leave her back in Knockturn Alley any more than I wanted to leave Severus and Hermione amongst the rundown houses (or are those hice?) at Spinner's End! LOL
You say sappy, I find it suitable revenge :)
Yet another wonderful chapter, I will be sad when the epilogue is posted only because it will be the last chapter. though at the same time I am looking forward to it immensely. A highly pleasurable break from the necessity of trying to find a new job.
Response from dracontia (Author of The Fairy God-Jarvey's Apprentice)
Thanks as always for the review--I suppose it can be argued that I'm walking a fine line between sappiness and poetic justice!! *grin*Reggie sends good luck with the job hunt!
Thanks for all the satisfying payback and for putting Severus and Hermione in such a cool new neighborhood. I love Rose so it was great to see her again, and to see events from the jewelry shop come full circle.
Response from dracontia (Author of The Fairy God-Jarvey's Apprentice)
*beams* You're very welcome--Thanks very much for the review! It was a pleasure doing that particular little house-hunt. And no way was I going to abandon Rose. :-)
*squee* I love the chapter.
I have to admit that I re-read "The ring on her Finger" just because I couldn't remember all that happened there. I didn't re-read "Return of the Fairy God-Jarvey" Just because it's 7AM and I'm still reading :P
As for Lucius, he's quite happy with the fate of the embezzler but not so much about the fate of his money. Although I have him distracted enough for him not to care for revenge... *winks*
Response from dracontia (Author of The Fairy God-Jarvey's Apprentice)
Thank you! Good to hear that Senor perma-tan is being looked after... *snerk* It's been great having you along for the ride. :-)
[Sings:] One is a genius, the other's insane... to show their puffy worth, they'll overthrow the earth... they're dinky, they're Pinky and the Brainbrainbrainbrainbrain. Ahem. Sorry. It comes over me at the most inconvenient times. Like whenever someone mentions taking over the earth, or what we do every night. And the Slovak vocab brought back lovely memories of a trip to the Balkans right after the war ended--I'll have you know my pronunciation is still good! Golly, I love this story.
Response from dracontia (Author of The Fairy God-Jarvey's Apprentice)
*bows* Thank you kindly! Isn't brain sludge wonderful? Pinky and the Brain may never take over the world, but they sure own a lot of otherwise reasonable human beings' gray matter....*wistfully considers seeing where the REAL Rose Mraz was born, someday. If Grandma can teach me enough Slovak and the planets align correctly*
I adored this chapter!!! I mean really who does not love Pinky and the Brain not mention Three stooges? As for Lucius the orphans home is the best place for his money. Great Job!!!!
Response from dracontia (Author of The Fairy God-Jarvey's Apprentice)
*bows* thank you very much! Since Narcissa, Draco, and Ginny were getting on so well, I figured all that money needed a nice new home. Pinky and the Brain rock! And the 3 Stooges were geniuses!
Oh, the antics which Reggie et al. get up to...I'm practically rolling on the floor here! I like the way in which you integrated "The Ring On Her Finger" into this story -- it's nice to know that Rose has finally managed to get herself out of Knockturn Alley. And I absolutely LOVE the revenge taken on Lucius!
Response from dracontia (Author of The Fairy God-Jarvey's Apprentice)
Thank you kindly! Reggie and company live to get the laugh--and there was no way I could leave poor Rose in Knockturn Alley by herself.Good to see you in the review box again!
wh00t! yes! I'm so glad this isn't finished yet. Loved Sully!!!
"You drive a hard bargain, Ginevra.” “I’m hoping you do as well, Draco,” she whispered sensuously in reply.
Wheeeeee! Thanks for the lovely, funny, chaotic update!
Response from dracontia (Author of The Fairy God-Jarvey's Apprentice)
Sully loves you too, hon--thank you very much for the review! *wink*Two more chapters of chaos and a mildly disorganized epilogue, coming right up!
Don't take this the wrong way, but you could end it here. Not that I want you to, nor am I remotely tired of it, but you've wound up the ends very nicely. That said, I'll only add: I LOVED IT! What an excellent chapter! I had my doubts about the Vegas wedding, but making it Squibtown was marvelous! I can't wait to see what happens on the honeymoon!
Response from dracontia (Author of The Fairy God-Jarvey's Apprentice)
LOL You mean, I could have saved myself all that work?Ah well, they're all written, so I might as well post them. ;-) Two more chapters and an epilogue to go--and I sincerely hope they will not disappoint. Thank you kindly for the review!
Another excellent chapter! Severus with Luna's little cousins. . . Priceless! And Sully! The wedding would have really been unforgetable if he'd made his usual opening joke . . . though I don't know if they'd be married yet. More made me laugh, too, though I won't list it all here (must remember to giggle quietly at work).
Response from dracontia (Author of The Fairy God-Jarvey's Apprentice)
Careful, I don't want this story to unleash a pink slip hex or anything!Glad you liked Luna's little cousins... my little stin-- er, darlings--wanted to visit with Reggie and 'That frustrated guy' (how my Dragon refers to Snape), so in they went-- under translations of their real names, of course. LOLThe Jarvey and her gag writer thank you kindly for taking the time to review!
Response from dracontia (Author of The Fairy God-Jarvey's Apprentice)
Thank you for the best conceivable non-verbal chapter summary!:-D
'accord in satisfaction’ --- thats great!!! no further comments your honour.
Response from dracontia (Author of The Fairy God-Jarvey's Apprentice)
Thanks very much! Here's to the rest of the story satisfying. :)
Thanks for the good laugh, as always. Luna's gesture was brillant, and I hope to hear about the Blessing's repercussions.
Response from dracontia (Author of The Fairy God-Jarvey's Apprentice)
Thanks kindly for the review--now that this story is complete (all but the beta and the posting of the final three chapters) I'm going to work on yet more Jarvey madness! *chasing plot bunnies about baby Snapelets*
Hermione-san and the Snarky One - - Does that sound like a Japanese pop band to anyone else? I kinda like it though . . . . Several rounds of applause for dracontia and Tempest of Dreams!! Wonderful! *cheers* YAY!!
Response from dracontia (Author of The Fairy God-Jarvey's Apprentice)
Hee! Jpop rears its head... can a Hello Kitty bento box be far behind?
Sorry, I'm not making much sense this time of night. But I do appreciate the review, and I'm so glad that you enjoyed the story!
I am such a sentamental old fool. I LOVE the "May rent - paid in full" when she asks about the sapphire that belonged to his mother. I have a thing about family mementos, though. I have yet to read something you've written that I don't like, (and at this rate, I don't think I will) because I love them all! And I adore Reggie!
Response from dracontia (Author of The Fairy God-Jarvey's Apprentice)
Ah, but family mementos are time machines. How else can a great-great grandchild hold hands with the woman who rocked her grandfather to sleep, save through the prized little pocket watch with which she kept the hours? It's worth more than gold.
Thank you deeply for the praise--I shall endeavor to continue writing stories that are worthy of your affection.
I don't mind the Draco/Ginny backstory, either. I think it's just as hilarious as the main story.
Response from dracontia (Author of The Fairy God-Jarvey's Apprentice)
Thank you! The main story has center stage from here on out, but Ginny and Draco will be making a few more little appearances as things progress. Enjoy!
