Third installment in the 'Fairy God-Jarvey Chronicles.' (For the record, I, too, cringe at the pretentiousness of calling them that.) As a Master Fairy God-Jarvey, Regina Fletcher gets an apprentice. However, it's going to take more than two Fairy God-Thingies to rescue Severus' and Hermione's wedding. So, if said thingies needed reinforcements... whom would they deputize?

Mostly Harmless! Though I have to admit, I'm even stranger than I appear. ;-) There's a pile of unbeta'd stuff on my LJ (dracfic) if you're interested in Raw, Untamed, fanfic.
Believe it or not, "How Argus Filch Got Wild, Got Laid, and Got His Magic" has been rec'ed by Know It Alls! It's true! They gave me this pretty lil' ribbon and everything! And in March 2007, they saw fit to likewise reccommend (as an antidote to angst) the story that started it all, 'Courtesy of Your Fairy God-Jarvey'--just in time for the first anniversary of that story's posting! *hugs Harm*
(I also have to admit that 'mostly harmless' may not be the most apt description of a member of the Mad Chatters...)
Finally, I just have to say... Storyville. If you were there, you know what I mean.Reviews for The Fairy God-Jarvey's Apprentice
I'm unsure I'm following everything going on here but I have a feeling there's a grand conflagration coming, like when all the fuses have been lit on several boxes of fireworks. All you can do is anticipate the show. Apparently one of the largest booms may come from Amsterdam.fyi, this is the first time I've ever laughed outloud over a disclaimer.
Response from dracontia (Author of The Fairy God-Jarvey's Apprentice)
The fireworks analogy is an EXCELLENT description of what just happened here! I would say everything will become clear next chapter, but that would probably be overstating things a bit. Explosions are pending, and I have grave doubts as to whether Amsterdam will ever let foreign wizards back in, after this little jaunt...I'm glad the disclaimer proved amusing! It's getting harder and harder to come up with something original to put into those. Happy reading! Thanks for the review!
OMG!!! ROFLMAO!! And, AND! You're throwing Rita Skeeter into the mix? Why do I have a sneaking suspicion all h#ll is going to break loose??? I very much, and incredibly sincerely, look forward to reading more!!!!!!
Response from dracontia (Author of The Fairy God-Jarvey's Apprentice)
Thank you very much for the review! All hell approaching in... oh, I don't know... how long does it take to get through the queue these days? *grin*Happy bug hunting!
“I wouldn’t know, Harry. I never have gotten the hang of Thursdays.”
"It must be Thursday, I've never gotten the hang of Thursdays."
*giggles* DNA is my hero. Moto is incredibly cute for reasons I can't explain. Yea...Reggie definitely should have gone with Severus, he's a lot more to handle than Hermione.
Response from dracontia (Author of The Fairy God-Jarvey's Apprentice)
My only complaint about Thursday is that I frequently mistake it for Friday, and wind up frustrated. Remus, and the inestimable Mr. Dent, however... intense Thursday issues.Reggie called that one pretty poorly. We'll find out just how poorly next chapter! I can't quite explain Moto, either. Rather like Reggie, he showed up in my head one day and refused to leave. So I'm sharing them with y'all. Have fun--and thanks for the review!
Have more fun with this, you are getting tense. Or maybe it's Reggie who is getting tense.
Response from dracontia (Author of The Fairy God-Jarvey's Apprentice)
Me? tense? I'm so laid back, I fell off. Well, not really. Maybe Reggie and I should knock over Remus and Tonks and steal their reservations at the spa. Get a massage or something. LOL! Thanks for the review!
I love these stories, but it figures, since I love Douglas Adams, too.I need to thank you for a big laugh during a very bad week. I mean, what on earth would posess a WEASLEY to give his intended an Amber stone? Given the fecundity (is that a word?) of his family, that's like begging the Fates for 5 sets of twins. Five. Sets. of. Jorge & Ricos. The laugh got even louder when I imagined Snape's reaction to that ring, if he ever got a gander at it. *drops to his knees, thanks his lucky star he's not at Hogwarts anymore* tee-hee, snerk.
Response from dracontia (Author of The Fairy God-Jarvey's Apprentice)
Thank you very, very much, for this review. I write to make my bad weeks (or days, months--pick the interval of your choice) go away, and if I can help take someone else's along with, so much the better!
As for everyone's favorite potions master, there is a good chance he will be yearning for the 'peace and quiet' of Hogwarts--even during the Weasley twins years--before the next sequel is over...
Fecundity is definitely a word. A very apt word, under the circumstances.

You are an evil, evil tease.
thanks for the fabulous ride. will go again in future ;P
Response from dracontia (Author of The Fairy God-Jarvey's Apprentice)
*bows* You are most welcome! Thanks for the fabulous reviews! :D
I find it very interesting that you named mrs trapp Leocadia. do I sense a reference? will we Ever find out why reggie speaks spanish? is there a connection?
and I'm glad you included dewey cheatham and howe :)
Response from dracontia (Author of The Fairy God-Jarvey's Apprentice)
Everything you might have wanted to know about Reggie appears, quasi-fairytale-style, in 'Before the Fairy God-Jarvey.' *sigh* I'd hoped to make something of the Leocadia Slade character, but so far, it's just a couple of brief references and finally getting to use the name, which I've always thought very cool. Can't wrap a comedy like this without a reference to the three most famous wise guys! :D
wow. I actually like narcissa in this chapter. cool!
Response from dracontia (Author of The Fairy God-Jarvey's Apprentice)
*grin* She has her moments!
this is one of the most fabulous chapters so far. elvis impersonater: check. luna's relatives: check. blessing of three children: check. weasley's wizarding wheezes: check. and so many other supercool things! and just by the way, I love the draco/ginny banter.
Response from dracontia (Author of The Fairy God-Jarvey's Apprentice)
We had to hit the highlights as long as we were in Vegas! Thanks for reviewing!
nice job with the texas accent bit. and I can't wait to see what happens! sounds like mayhem, dracontia style. :)
Response from dracontia (Author of The Fairy God-Jarvey's Apprentice)
Thank you! We promise chaos, and we shall deliver. :D
oh....my...god. I can't believe motoyoshi is a kappa. I laughed for a good five minutes. you do like Fantastic Beasts et al, don't you? :)
Response from dracontia (Author of The Fairy God-Jarvey's Apprentice)
Believe it, luv! LOL! Any day you can work in a fantastic beast is a good day. Luna and I are very much in agreement on this. :)
So much goodness to comment on! I'll focus on your use of NL - it was perfect. HP somehat mollified, SS in a snit, DM admiring the muscles - perfect. I also loved:
"Briefly, Neville wondered what passed for domestic tranquility in a house with two people who always needed to be right. Hermione had never taken kindly to events not going precisely her way, either."
Response from dracontia (Author of The Fairy God-Jarvey's Apprentice)
Thanks very much for the review! I'm glad you liked how Neville came across.Neville is a good friend. You know, of course, that the definition of a good friend is someone who comes out in the middle of the night to bail you out of jail.Ron, on the other hand, is a great friend. The definition of a great friend is someone who is sitting next to you in the cell saying, 'Damn, that was fun!'Here's to good and great friends everywhere--can't do without either of them. :-)
Thank you. It was splendid. I'm mad about Rose, by the way. (As in, I adore her. Not that I'm ticked off. British mad, not American mad.) (Ahem.) Good job, dracontia!
Response from dracontia (Author of The Fairy God-Jarvey's Apprentice)
Thank you kindly! I'm pretty fond of Rose myself; I just couldn't leave her in Knockturn Alley. Even if she doesn't have a Fairy God-thingy... or rather, her Fairy Godfather turned out to be a rather unlikely big black bat of a fellow. ;-)
The nightclub scenes were hilarious. I especially enjoyed the SS / RL interactions and giving MMcG some action - she's not that old and she deserves it!
Response from dracontia (Author of The Fairy God-Jarvey's Apprentice)
It's almost a mantra for me... HP characters+copious amounts of alcohol (preferably magical)=comedy. And Minerva and I are of the opinion that there's plenty of time to be old once you're dead. :-)Thanks for reviewing!
What a lovely ending! And I'm glad to see you will be writing more in Reggie's universe. Perhaps after you've written her story, I think it would be nice if Rose Mraz found someone to love (hint!) Kudos to both you and your beta for a lovely story (and series)
Response from dracontia (Author of The Fairy God-Jarvey's Apprentice)
LOL well, there will certainly be more to Reggie's universe; I can't promise that all prior characters will make appearances, but Reggie and I will never back down from our firm commitment to Happily Ever After. Thanks for reviewing!
Well, it's over. Ya done good, kid. Sniff.
Response from dracontia (Author of The Fairy God-Jarvey's Apprentice)
Aw, shucks... thanks! Just don't get too sentimental on me & Reg, OK? We need to meet the RDA of snark in our diets. :-)
Please! It's por supuesto, and neither time is it spelled right in this chapter! I wanted to poke my eyes out after reading the Detention scene, but then, I wouldn't see the last chapter, would I?Just watch it--don't write anything you wouldn't let your mother see (assuming she has some taste and class). Or your fussy reader here.
Response from dracontia (Author of The Fairy God-Jarvey's Apprentice)
Honestly, how was I supposed to resist the temptation to sendup the HG/SS genre staple (read: literary equivalent of hardtack) 'Detention Fantasy'?My mother has no clue I do this. Guess she'll catch on when I bleach my hair, don gray contanct lenses, and go to Phoenix Rising dressed in male drag as Draco, though... (Can't for the life of my figure out why hubby gives me odd looks for planning that.)*scratches head, wondering where taste and class come into play for any reader of a story featuring a Jarvey in a tutu*
I admire how you keep so many characters interacting at once - you make it seem effortless, but it's very difficult. Nice weaving of NT, RL, GW, and DM into the plot!
Response from dracontia (Author of The Fairy God-Jarvey's Apprentice)
Thank you! Reggie helps a great deal keeping the juggling act afloat--no doubt yet one more skill she acquired in her checkered past...
So many wonderful things here, but I suppose your characterization of SS stood out for me. I love where HG thinks about how me is unable to react well when stressed, etc. Perfect!
Response from dracontia (Author of The Fairy God-Jarvey's Apprentice)
Those two are a pair to draw to, aren't they? LOL Thanks very much for the review!
I'm going to take this opportunity to say that I love everthing you'vre written. I commend your for you inventiveness and humor! Reggie is an amazing character (in more ways than one).
Response from dracontia (Author of The Fairy God-Jarvey's Apprentice)
Thank you very much! Reggie is definitely feeling the love. :-)
I feel like Molly Weasley viewing her twin sons' shop for the first time, and reading "U No Poo" with soundless, moving lips. Invisible Threstral poop? You aren't invited to any future wedding of mine, either. Sorry.
Response from dracontia (Author of The Fairy God-Jarvey's Apprentice)
And somehow, I imagine that if my mother were to ever discover these stories, her reaction would be remarkably similar; ah, to feel a sense of kinship with the Weasley twins...I take great pride in that.If Reggie and I aren't invited to the ceremony, can we send a gift? *raises eyebrows innocently*Thanks very much for the review!
Lovely as usual.
And tell Reggie she deserves a good rest and vacation for dealing with all that trouble with Severus, Hermione and company... though, tell her to remember to come back, I'll miss her deaply and I want to read more about her. :D
Response from dracontia (Author of The Fairy God-Jarvey's Apprentice)
Will relay the message to Reg, and we promise, there will be at least three more FGJ stories before the series is over! Thank you for hanging on with us through another adventure. :-)
Loved your story, every bit of it.? Surely the baby needs some sort of do-gooding magical being to watch over her ....? Thanks for your work!
Response from dracontia (Author of The Fairy God-Jarvey's Apprentice)
Thank you for the kind words! Ah, the little blessing-baby... but she has two magical beings who love her dearly watching over her--at least, until they give her away at her wedding someday. And, even then....Though of course, Reggie will always keep up with her dear godchildren. And their children. (And maybe even their children's friends.) :-)
I can not only give both you and Tempest a round of applause, but shed a happy tear to think I was there when you both got together.
The fluff was well balanced and I will look forward to more to come. Will Rose be suffering the attentions of the Fairy God Whatevers, I wonder?
Response from dracontia (Author of The Fairy God-Jarvey's Apprentice)
Fluff is an important part of a balanced diet. Reggie is always pleased to help provide the recommended daily allowance!Like all good Slovaks, Rose gets by on hard work, the grace of God, and knowing to hang on to a good thing when she sees it. Which, come to think of it, gives her a good bit in common with Reggie. :-)Take care!!

*stuck with image of Jarvey fur-balls*
The story was very funny and much fun
Response from dracontia (Author of The Fairy God-Jarvey's Apprentice)
Thank you! We Fairy God-critters aim for both fun and funny, and are delighted to know when the goal is met. :-)
