I'm a forty-something American woman who is addicted to the SSHG pairing, relatively new to this fandom. I'm also considering starting some original fiction soon...
Check out the story I co-wrote with Remarkable -- it's called "Hidden Attractions" and (as soon as it's through the queue) it's archived under the penname remarkable_linlawless.
For those who are interested, I've got two WIPs at my website (which I will eventually post here, but not until I have a complete draft). It's easy and free to join the website, so I hope you'll visit!
I am honored that my story, Witchy Woman, has been selected as a featured story for September 2010. Better yet, this honor came with the very awesome banner at the top of this post!
Here's a couple of banners my friend Atuliel made for the two WIPs at my website:

Enough to make one nervous, isn't it? ;) Thanks for reviewing!
omg! now that i'm back in TPP, i'm glad to see one of the nc-17 stories i first fell obsessed with! i can;t remember from which website i saw this first, but i loved it so much! don't worry, I won't spoil the rest from the others. all i can say is, this fanfic is the bomb!
Response from linlawless (Author of Witchy Woman)
Thank you so much! I'm glad you enjoyed it enough to remember it, and I appreciate the review! :) And welcome back to TPP :)
Wonderful chapter! Progress, lovely progress.

Thank you! :)
Boy, Dumbledore's a sneaky one, isn't he? But, I can overlook his meddling when it is in the name of hooking these two up. I think my favorite part was Hermione's dramatic exit at dinner, and then Dumbledore's hearty approval. At least Severus didn't stay mad. This looks promising...
Response from linlawless (Author of Witchy Woman)
LOL, yes, Dumbledore is sneaky when he wants to be. I enjoyed Hermione's exit, too -- primarily because I don't like stories where Hermione lets him walk all over her. Glad you're enjoying, and as always, thank you for reviewing! :)
Ooh, that sly little old matchmaker!
Response from linlawless (Author of Witchy Woman)
LOL, he's a kick, isn't he? He does, after all, need something to plot and plan to keep himself entertained! :DThanks for commenting! :)
My, oh my. Dumbledore can be as relentless as a bloodhound when he gets a whiff of a burgeoning relationship among his staff or the students. I wonder if there is some way that he might be able to insure that Severus and Hermione do not run afoul of the rules without letting them know that he's plotting. After what Minerva had told the Headmaster what she had about "Their demeanor doesn’t suggest business…" I'm more convinced that both the Headmaster and the Head of Gryffindor would like to see Severus and Hermione make a go of this.... now how to help them without them knowing their being helped.Once again I'm looking forward to the next chapter! Beth
Response from linlawless (Author of Witchy Woman)
LOL, yes, Dumbledore likes to have his fingers in every little pie at Hogwarts. I think the next few chapters will clarify what approach he's going to take, and also what Minerva will do. Glad you're enjoying, and thanks for reviewing! :)
Now it is becoming oh so tortuous in a delicious way that Dumbledore has his sticky fingers in the pot. And involving Minerva? Oooohhhh old biddy alert LOL!
Response from linlawless (Author of Witchy Woman)
Hehehe, yep! I guess we'll see how much trouble Dumbledore stirs up, and what Minerva thinks of the whole thing. ;) Thanks for reviewing!
Actually, I think he'd think it was a very Slytherin thing to do to get him to get close to her! The one thing I was really suprised with, is that once he got into her head he didn't look for any reciprocated feelings towards himself! There's a little upstanding gentleman in him after all!
Response from linlawless (Author of Witchy Woman)
LOL, probably, except I don't think he wants to admit to himself or anyone else that he actually wants to be close to her. My take on why he didn't look for reciprocated feelings toward himself is that he assumes she doesn't have any, or if she does, they don't include attraction. Kind of dumb, I know, since she keeps sitting with him when she has other options, but he really doesn't see himself as the kind of man a smart, attractive, nice woman could ever be attracted to, let alone like or love. Thanks for reviewing!
This relationship is starting off well. She lures him with charms, he uses Legilimen on her, so... I guess that makes them even? I'm glad that Minerva didn' fly off the handle even though she thinks there is something going on between them. She may prove to be an ally to both before all is said and done. As for the dreams, if I was having those, I would have already poured that silly draught down the drain! I was pleased to see them on good terms again. Hopefully it wasn't just the calm before the storm.
Response from linlawless (Author of Witchy Woman)
Yeah, I think they're both emotionally somewhat immature, and also, neither of them is really admitting they actually like each other. Hermione's still telling herself that she's spending time with him to help her get over her attraction to him, and Severus is trying to tell himself that she's giving him no choice in the matter. I think Minerva genuinely cares about both of them, so she wants them to be happy, whether that's with each other or not. I'm with you on the dreams -- they would be more fun than not! As for whether the good terms will last or it's the calm before the storm, I'll never tell! Thanks for reviewing -- I appreciate it greatly!
Things are progressing nicely. They are becoming more, and more comfortable with one another. That is a joy to see unfold.Thank you for sharing~

Glad you're enjoying the progression and the developing relationship! Thank you for reviewing!
Oh, that went well :) I'm with Hermione--the togetherness was sweet. Shame on Severus for his Legilimency. I guess they both have guilty secrets. I wonder who will be forced to spill first...
Response from linlawless (Author of Witchy Woman)
Hehehe ... I'll never tell, but it'll be interesting either way, won't it? Thanks very much for reviewing!
Mmm hmmm. That was lovely. I will pateintly look forward to the next installment.Thank you for sharing~

Oh, very good!
Response from linlawless (Author of Witchy Woman)
Glad you like, so far! Thanks for the review!
Well, even though I don't review every chapter, I liked the story. I loved that he finally told her he loves her at their wedding, before he's supposed to formally for vows or anything. Cute story. :)
Minerva with her keen insight will certainly be the first to know when they get naked cough begin their relationship.
Response from linlawless (Author of Witchy Woman)
LOL, you can't put much past Minerva. Thanks for reviewing! :)
Its amusing as all hell how paranoid Severus is. His feelings of attraction for Granger cannot possibly be his own therefore its a curse. Ha!
Response from linlawless (Author of Witchy Woman)
Yep, he can't fathom that he might actually be attracted to the 'insufferable know-it-all'! :)
yeah, keep saying that, honey. You'll believe it one day. XDloooooooved the chapter!! very well written ^^
Response from linlawless (Author of Witchy Woman)
Thank you! I'm so glad you enjoyed it! :D
*Snort!* (Reviewer Sings): I'm not in love, so don't forget, it's just a silly phase I'm going through... Doofus! I liked his internal thought about Obliviating himself though!
Response from linlawless (Author of Witchy Woman)
LMAO! I absolutely LOVE that song! I suspect it may have been in the back of my mind when I was writing this chapter. ;) Glad you enjoyed it, and thanks for reviewing! :D
Yes, yes he is a fool.
Response from linlawless (Author of Witchy Woman)
Shhhhh! Don't tell him that, lest he hex you! ;)Thanks for reviewing! :D
Oh what a SILLY boy he is. I love the way this is going. Hermione is completely confident and he's all wrong-footed and it makes me smile.
Response from linlawless (Author of Witchy Woman)
Hehehe, that *is* unusual and fun, isn't it? Glad you're enjoying it, and thanks for reviewing! :D
oh My!! Severus going for the straightforward option?! that's unusual...Nice chap, want more!!
Response from linlawless (Author of Witchy Woman)
Thank you! I have the sense that he's so completely bewildered that he's not even able to come up with a good Slytherin plot at this point. ;)Thanks for reviewing! :D
Goodf or Hermione. It would appear her plan has worked. Perhaps now is the time to come clean about everything. Especially the charm. I'm so looking forward tos eeing what happens next.
Response from linlawless (Author of Witchy Woman)
Yes, I think everything will be out in the open shortly. Thanks for reviewing! :D
Hummmmm. This could go either way, couldn't it? I wasn't really comfortable with Ginny's idea to send Hermione presents "from Harry," and now I'm afraid this will all blow up in Hermione's face. However, I have enjoyed seeing Severus try to wrap his mind around Hermione's change in mood. Now I can't wait to see what happens when Severus finds her... will he find her in her quarters? Or will he find her somewhere else? What will she tell him when he asks her about Harry? Thanks for another fun chapter!Beth
Response from linlawless (Author of Witchy Woman)
Thank you! So glad you enjoyed this part of the story. Ginny's plan could have backfired spectacularly, and I think the only reason it didn't is because Severus already knew that in Hermione's mind, Harry is more a brother than anything, so he felt just a bit less threatened. Thanks for reviewing! :D
Yay for progress. I'm so glad that Hermione didn't have to fool herself at all. Severus is finally being smart ;)
Response from linlawless (Author of Witchy Woman)
Yes, he had to get around to being smart eventually, didn't he?! Thanks for reviewing! :D
Good for Severus for thinking clearly enough to go and search her out for a conversation, rather than jump to too many conclusions and retract further out of anger. I hope things go as planned. I found myself wishing that Hermione had talked Ginny out of part two. We'll see what happens ...
Response from linlawless (Author of Witchy Woman)
LOL, well, it's probably a really good thing that he remembers realizing that Hermione thinks of Harry and Ron as siblings -- otherwise, he'd probably have totally freaked. Thanks for the review! :D
