I'm a forty-something American woman who is addicted to the SSHG pairing, relatively new to this fandom. I'm also considering starting some original fiction soon...
Check out the story I co-wrote with Remarkable -- it's called "Hidden Attractions" and (as soon as it's through the queue) it's archived under the penname remarkable_linlawless.
For those who are interested, I've got two WIPs at my website (which I will eventually post here, but not until I have a complete draft). It's easy and free to join the website, so I hope you'll visit!
I am honored that my story, Witchy Woman, has been selected as a featured story for September 2010. Better yet, this honor came with the very awesome banner at the top of this post!
Here's a couple of banners my friend Atuliel made for the two WIPs at my website:
Reviews for Witchy Woman
Now that Severus has figured out just who Hermione was talking about, I hope he also remembers that she said she loved both of them... and I hope he understands that she loves him in a different way than she loves Harry. Plenty of room for misunderstanding here... or not. LOL!Beth
Response from linlawless (Author of Witchy Woman)
LOL, well, hopefully it won't get too messed up between them! Thanks for reviewing!
Well, that didn't take Severus long to figure out. I hope he won't be mad at her or anything for wanting the potion. Although, she did say she loved both of them, which means she loves Severus. I wonder if he realizes that part yet.
Response from linlawless (Author of Witchy Woman)
Hopefully, he'll realize that before he does or says something destructive. Thanks for commenting!
Finally figured it out, did he? Cute.
Response from linlawless (Author of Witchy Woman)
Hehe, yep. If he didn't like her so much, he'd probably have figured it out even sooner. Thanks for commenting!
Uh oh. He's figured it out. Is he going to blow up, or recognize the depth of pain it causes Hermione to have two of the people she loves destroy her with their behavior? Maybe he'll notice she said she loved him. I hope her choice to use the potion, if Severus completes it now, won't backfire on her. Lovely! I wait in a state of anticipation for your next chapter.Thank you for sharing~

Glad you're enjoying! I think the next chapter will answer all your questions, and it should be posted shortly. Thank you for reviewing!
Good for Minerva. I'm amused that Hermione is kind of the last to figure this out. I'm intrigued by Hermione's thought processes about why he borrowed the potion.
Response from linlawless (Author of Witchy Woman)
I love Minerva. Given their history, it seems Hermione might take some convincing -- and a lot of evidence -- to even consider that Severus could have strong, positive feelings for her. Thanks for commenting! :)
I was going to give Severus Hell fo being so brilliant, and not being able to figure out the story about Hermione's "friend." But I should have never doubted him. I hope that he thinks about it and recognizes that what she is saying about he and Harry is true and then makes the effort to change. I'm a bit afraid that he will be mad at her intead, or not let on that he knows and then mess things up to spite her for slipping him a potion she shouldn't be messing with. I guess I'll just have to wait and find out, won't I... sigh.
Response from linlawless (Author of Witchy Woman)
Hehehe, yes, you'll have to wait and see ... but it won't be long. I think Severus would have figured it out even quicker if he weren't so emotionally involved (not that he'd admit that, of course!).Thanks for reviewing!
LOL. I'm glad Severus figured this out. Poor Hermione. Still, she should have just tried talking to them. I guess her biggest problem is that she doesn't want to admit to Severus how much she likes him. Ohh, but he does need to know!
Response from linlawless (Author of Witchy Woman)
Yes, she's definitely having trouble admitting that. Even if she does admit it, though, it remains to be seen whether he's ready to hear it ...Thanks for reviewing!
Ooo, he's got her number all right. Or don’t they care about her enough to make her more comfortable?”Very perceptive of him.
Response from linlawless (Author of Witchy Woman)
Yeah, she's not exactly the best dissembler, is she? Hopefully, he'll realize that he does care enough to try to make her more comfortable ...Thanks for commenting!
Interesting. I am wondering what type of interfering Albus has in mind? Will he ever learn. let things take their course, naturally.Thank you for sharing~

Response from linlawless (Author of Witchy Woman)
LOL. I doubt he will ever learn. My theory is he's bored without the intrigue of plotting a war. ;)Thanks for commenting!
Aww, short and sweet.
Response from linlawless (Author of Witchy Woman)
Hehe, yep. Thanks for reviewing! :D
I think those comments by dumbledore have made him a little up tight.
I love the poster.
Response from linlawless (Author of Witchy Woman)
Yes, Severus really doesn't like other people knowing his business. Thanks for commenting! :)
I somehow don't think that was the last of Dumbledore prying. Severus and Hermione's relationship is progressing at a nice pace. I do hope they are able to stay angst free for the most part. Looking forward to more.
Response from linlawless (Author of Witchy Woman)
Hehehe ... I'm quite certain that's not the last of Dumbledore prying -- after all, with the war over, he doesn't all that intrigue to keep him happy, so he has to create his own. ;) There'll be some ups and downs coming, but I don't think anything too extreme. Thanks for reviewing! :)
Oh, dear! Good thing Hermione said something, and Severus took her seriously. I hope Minerva recovers quickly. Nothing gets past Dumbledore, does it? I hope he goes easy on Severus with the questioning that is no doubt coming his way. Great chapter!
Response from linlawless (Author of Witchy Woman)
Yes, I guess we'll see if Dumbledore manages to be discreet and not irritate Severus too much ... ;) Thanks!
I'm glad that Hermione has decided to take all of the magic out ot things. If he found out accidentally down the road, he might not have taken it as well. Off to read more... yay!
Response from linlawless (Author of Witchy Woman)
Hehe, yes, Severus doesn't usually take well to feeling tricked, does he? I guess we'll see if Hermione sticks to her resolve. ;)Glad you're enjoying it. Thanks for reviewing! :)
I like the progression of their relationship, and now Dumbledore is in on the plot. Things that make you go hmmmmm......
Response from linlawless (Author of Witchy Woman)
Hehehe, exactly! Glad you're enjoying it, and thanks for commenting!
Yes, I think Minerva and Albus are onto Severus and Hermione, and I think they highly approve. Just like I do!Beth
Response from linlawless (Author of Witchy Woman)
LOL! Glad you're liking it! And yes, I do think Minerva and Albus are right on top of things between Severus and Hermione! Thanks for commenting! :)
I think Dumbledore and Minerva have pretty much got this Snape thing all figured out. LOL.
Response from linlawless (Author of Witchy Woman)
It's tough to put one over on them, isn't it? Thanks for commenting! :)
Finally I found the time to start reading this story. I have wanted to ever since it got featured. And the feature is well deserved!Entertaining, funny and sexy. *applauds*
Response from linlawless (Author of Witchy Woman)
Thank you! I'm so glad you're enjoying it, and I hope you're able to find time to keep up with it as it unfolds! Thanks for the review! :)
Glad to see an update. Keep up the good work
Response from linlawless (Author of Witchy Woman)
Thank you for commenting! :) I hope you'll continue to enjoy it!
Oh noes! I'm glad Hermione told Severus about her concerns for Minerva. Hopefully Severus' potions will bring a healthy bloom back to her cheeks instead of the fevered countenance she has now. And of course Dumbledore will have questions for Severus about his relationship with Hermione. I'm sure that fact that the two of them have been sitting together in the Great Hall hasn't escaped the Headmaster's notice.Beth
Response from linlawless (Author of Witchy Woman)
Yes, it's good that Hermione was willing to share her concerns, and that Severus was willing to take her seriously. Hopefully, Minerva will be back to her usual indefatigable self soon enough. Dumbledore pretty much never misses a trick, so yes, I'm sure he's been noticing the increased frequency of Severus and Hermione's interactions.
Hermione has good instincts.
Response from linlawless (Author of Witchy Woman)
Yes, she does, doesn't she? Thanks for reviewing! :)
oh no, poor Minerva. Hermione's instincts should be trusted. I'm glad Severus responded the way he did. Of course he may end up having to answer questions later
Response from linlawless (Author of Witchy Woman)
Hehehe ... yes, Severus must come to trust Hermione's instincts and judgment, and he's taking some baby steps in that direction. He may indeed have to answer questions -- although he may also find ways to avoid answering questions -- but Dumbledore certainly wouldn't fail to notice that Severus is behaving a bit differently where Hermione is concerned!Thank you for reviewing!
Woman's intuition is a great thing! And I'm happy to see how much Severus trusts Hermione. It's so rare of him to trust anybody, and for him to trust Hermione as deeply as he does shows his feelings for her
Response from linlawless (Author of Witchy Woman)
Yes, I'm a strong believer in intuition, even in those of us who have no actual magical powers! ;) I think poor Severus has really needed someone he could safely trust, so I like when Hermione proves herself trustworthy. Thanks, as always, for commenting (it never gets old!). :)
I thought it was amusing how Severus kept reverting back almost to an adolescent attitude while he was watching Hermione eat her chocolate. I read this story, in its original context on AFF and I actually had it saved as one of my favorites. I'm glad you're revising it because grammatically it seems to flow much better now, and I can see complete thoughts where once there was none. Good idea!
Response from linlawless (Author of Witchy Woman)
Hmm, I sincerely hope you didn't see it on AFF, since I haven't posted anything there. Maybe on ff.net or Ashwinder? I have to credit the mods here at TPP for a lot of the grammatical tweaking -- they have very strict rules! As I've been adjusting the grammar to account for that, I occasionally find other things that seem to call for revision or clarification, so I do that, too ... It's not really changing all that much, but it's nice to know that it's improving the flow and quality of the story.Anyway, I'm glad you're enjoying the story and finding it worth a second read. That scene with the chocolate is a particular favorite of mine, as well -- I think food brings out the male primitive side, especially when they're watching a female they find attractive who is obviously enjoying food they themselves provided for her. Thanks for reviewing!

FanFic.net. Yeah, that's what I meant! LOL! Brain is atrophying....Need... more...Snapefix!!!
I love the softer Severus.
Response from linlawless (Author of Witchy Woman)
Me, too! As long as I'm not taking him too far OOC, that is! Thanks for reviewing! :)
