Just another SS/HG shipper wanting to make the world a Snapey place.
Reviews for The Long Wait
I got an email from potter's place and this story was mentioned. My curiosity was aroused so I'm taking a look. So far I'm enjoying it.
I loved it!!!! It was very sweet and romantic!

Thank you. It was my first foray into the world of HP fanfic.

I just thought I would take the time to tell you... I have been reading this, and am enjoying it very much. Well written, and definately one of my favorites to date!
Response from ancientgirl (Author of The Long Wait)
Thanks! I'm glad you like it and I'm glad you have take time from your own writing to read it.
As I have told you before I love this story and it's sequel great job

Thank you. I'm glad you have taken the time to come over here and have another look at it.
I love Crooks and Osiris! :)
Response from ancientgirl (Author of The Long Wait)
Aren't they nuts? I wish I had them here with me.
I really liked Draco in this chapter I wasn't going to review until I had got to the last Chapter but I hada to say I really liked your characterisations here.
Response from ancientgirl (Author of The Long Wait)
Thanks. I tried to keep them all canon, but knew that if I was going to marry off these different pairings, there would have to be a bit of OC around. I know you are a Draco fan so I hope you continue to enjoy him in this story.
I can forgive Severus acting like a bastard given what he thinks. I can forgive Hermione acting like an idiot because she's so hurt and frightened. However, I cannot forgive you, sweet girl, for leaving me in the midst of all this angst with no more chapters to read myself out of it! :( Where's the rest?!
*giggle* Sorry, I expect you know that I'm not the most patient of Pooks! :)
Response from ancientgirl (Author of The Long Wait)
Pooka I know you are about as patient as I am, but I think we are only supposed to post a chapter or two a day of one story. I'll have to have a look at the rules one more time. Anyway I will post again in the morning and if the board rules allow it I'll post again in the evening. This story only has about 29 chapters all together including the epilogue. Soon Pooka soon.
Pregnant!Hermione is not one of my favorites of the genre, but you make make me accept it with aplomb. :)
Response from ancientgirl (Author of The Long Wait)
I didn't like doing it, but the minute I began to think about the story I knew I wanted to do this because it serves its own dramatic purposes here. It not only adds to her's and Severus' plot line but it also assists me in Osiris and Crooks plot too.
*sigh* Nothing more heartbreaking than two people breaking thier hearts over each other because they won't just talk about things. Well done, even if you are making me feel weepy. :)
Response from ancientgirl (Author of The Long Wait)
Very true unfortunately. First he heard what he heard so he's already got his mind made up. And poor Hermione just doesn't even know what happened.
Damn! I forgot about this part! I think you just won't be satisfied until you make poor Pook cry! :(
Response from ancientgirl (Author of The Long Wait)
Sorry Pook, but it has to be done.
Lol, Severus cannot help but be Severus. I'd be disappointed if he didn't get himself into some sort of trouble. I don't think it is so much that he doesn't trust hermione as it is that he doesn't trust other men. :)
Response from ancientgirl (Author of The Long Wait)
I think it is hard for him to trust. I also see him as a man who never really knew any love other than that of his mother. So I find it normal for him to be a bit worried.
*happy sigh* I can just see your Severus, a closet art lover and rather embarassed reader of poetry, trusting Hermione enough to recite such lines as he undresses her. I would not buy just anyone's Severus doing such a thing, but with yours it makes perfect sense! I am madly in love with your Severus, and completely Jealous of your Hermione! :)
Response from ancientgirl (Author of The Long Wait)
*tee hee* Can't you just see him sitting off in a corner of the library reading some poetry trying to not be seen?
I don't have a problem with Hermione learning the skill easily. I imagine that some people would just have a knack for it, much as Harry had an innate knack for flying. I also imagine that having a deep trust in the person teaching you would also be of great help, something Harry never had with Snape.
Now on a more naughty note, I am completely envious of Hermione getting to feel Severus' "telltale sign'! ;)
Response from ancientgirl (Author of The Long Wait)
I feel the same way. I think in the wizarding world there are people who pick up skills easier than others, just like in the real world. And seeing how this is Hermione we are talking about I think it makes it more believable. And I myself would love to feel Severus' "telltale sign"
Smoochies! I tell you, I think good smoochies are harder to write than all-out sex, and you do them so beautifully!
You're Draco cracks me up! "I knew it was a date!" :)
Response from ancientgirl (Author of The Long Wait)
Let me tell you I have such a hard time writing smoochies and sex. I'm not a prude by any means, I just don't think I have the knack for it like other people do. I'm glad you liked this. And I am especially glad I was able to make Draco likable.
I think Severus' hand is finding a home on Hermione's back! They are adorable. And I am fast being reminded just how much I adore Osiris. He truly is an amazing character! :)
Response from ancientgirl (Author of The Long Wait)
I have to say that is my favorite gesture. A mans hand on the small of a woman's back to me is such a beautiful gesture. It is intimate, loving, protective and possessive. I can see him doing this to a woman he cares about without even realizing he is going it. I am so happy with Osiris. I wish I had one of my own. Through him and soon Crooks I can be as sarcastic as I want to be. And it is so much fun reading what comes out of his mouth and thinking of him as a raven.
"he hadn?t wanted to let himself get sucked into caring for her." Silly, clueless man! It's obviously already far too late! ;)
*sigh* Now they both know what they want, what are they going to do about it! :)
Response from ancientgirl (Author of The Long Wait)
Officially sucked in. Men really are clueless aren't they? Even a man as intelligent as our Severus.
*sigh* One smile from her and he completely loses his train of thought! Fabulous! :)
Response from ancientgirl (Author of The Long Wait)
That's all he really need from her you know.
It is very difficult to write "girl talk" between two intelligent young women without it becoming completely insipid. You, my dear, have managed it beautifully! Well done! :)
Response from ancientgirl (Author of The Long Wait)
Thank you, I take this as a grand compliment coming from you. I truly respect your writing and for another writer to say something like this is wonderful. I wanted to make them still girlish but not too much. I put a bit of myself and my friends in them. I had hoped to keep them in character and I'm glad you enjoyed this chapter.
Only Severus could ask someone out to dinner without actually asking! Sneaky Slytherin! I forgot all about Osiris! I love Osiris! :)
Response from ancientgirl (Author of The Long Wait)
I figured that would be the only way of getting them out of the castle and not having to make him like some doofy teenager asking a girl out. I love Osiris too. I hated to finish the story just because In enjoyed writing him and Crooks so much.
*giggle* It looks as though Hermione will not have to be quite a patient as she assumed! I must say, I am quite taken with a Severus who is curious enough to want to see what Muggles are like for himself, as well as strong enough to put aside prejudices and admit there is much about what he discovers to enjoy. :)
Response from ancientgirl (Author of The Long Wait)
I'm glad you like my take on him. I see him as a very intelligent and curious man. A man who would not just take the word of some nut and decide on his own if the Muggle world was worthless or not. And I could not help allowing him to enjoy some of the things I enjoy as well.
Poor Severus! Such intense planning on his part, yet he has already spoiled it all by smiling at her! I suppose the only thing sweeter that Hermione having a secret crush is that the surly Potions master has one as well! :)
Response from ancientgirl (Author of The Long Wait)
LOL, hey he just caught the culprit who robbed from him, I figured that deserved a smile.
I think I know what Severus' other dream is! Delightful chapter! Severus seems to have thrown Hermione for a loop by being somewhat civil. I think she'd be surprised just how civil the man could be given half a chance! ;)
Response from ancientgirl (Author of The Long Wait)
Very true she will be very surprised by some of the things she finds out.
?Mistake? Yes, well, I?ll believe that when Voldemort rises from the grave wearing a pink tutu while singing Danny Boy.? *gigglegiggle* Oh my! I can just hear Minerva saying that! Hmmm....and the mysterious Potions master doesn't seem particularly infuriated, does he? ;)
Response from ancientgirl (Author of The Long Wait)
I'm glad you feel like that. When I write I try to play it in my head like a movie, so I was imagining Maggie Smith saying just this line. I'm glad you liked it.
Nothing better than a quietly scheming Albus! He is such a naughty man! :)
Response from ancientgirl (Author of The Long Wait)
I love Albus when he is all scheming, but in a good way. I know it drives Severus nuts in some stories but its cute too when he's a bit nuts.
I know I've read this before, but I've decided to re-read it in hopes that you will soon post it's sequel here at the PP! I love this story and the beginning is immediately intriguing! There is nothing so delicious as a SS/HG fic where Hermione tenders a secret crush! :)
Response from ancientgirl (Author of The Long Wait)
Yes, I'm just reposting this here. I've already posted all of my other stories. Hopefully I will finish the reposting soon and you can read theh other 3 sequels. Severus actually has more than a crush. He's got a big secret.
