Just another SS/HG shipper wanting to make the world a Snapey place.
Reviews for The Long Wait
Snape and "Animal House" = two things I never thought I would read in the same sentence. Your Snape really does have a lot hiding under his exterior. It would be very amusing to see them out and about muggle London together.
Response from ancientgirl (Author of The Long Wait)
I wanted my Snape to be different than the Snape I'd read about both in canon and fanfiction. I still tried to keep some of what makes him Snape, but I added a bit of my own ideas about what he might be like if he were to fall in love.
Oh nice set up. I am guessing Snape saw Hermione in the Mirror of Erised. But will she see him? Guess I must read to find out. And I don't believe for a minute Dumbledore made a mistake either.
Response from ancientgirl (Author of The Long Wait)
Yes, he did see her, many years ago. LOL, Dumbledore's mistakes are well planned out by him. I hope you enjoy this if you decide to keep reading.
Thanks for leaving a review.
*pout* She totally let him off the hook waaaaay too easily! Yes, yes I understand the traumatic childhood, wah wah wah, but come on...he treated her like a bloody whore and in less then 10 minutes she's bawling just letting the matter drop...fuck that! I know she loves him and all that jazz but to just go "oh it's okay" is utter claptrap. She's supposed to be a strong, dominate person and yet she just steamrolls over all the horrible things he said. *pouts some more*
Other than that this was well written and entertaining. Good job!
Response from ancientgirl (Author of The Long Wait)
Thanks for the review. She may by "strong and dominant" in her years in school, but she's been out of school. I felt I wanted to write a different Hermione. We don't know what kind of a person she will be after she graduates. This story is set several years after and she's older now. I wasn't the same person I was in high school in my early 20's and I"m not the same person I was in my early 20's now.
While he treated her like a whore, he also believed she'd been playing a dirty trick on him along with her friends, so it was well deserved treatment based on what he heard. After having spoken to Harry, she realized what happened and understood why Severus had been the way he'd been with her. She's smart, and she realized that had it not been for his feelings that she betrayed him he would not have been like that towards her. That's the way I saw it.
I appreciate you taking the time to read this and leaving me a review. Thanks again.
it's okay! I cried too!!!
Response from ancientgirl (Author of The Long Wait)
Yep, I just read it again and I'm crying, again!
very wonderfull story about my favorit HP character pairing i love the long wait in the begging it was hard to read because i am french but now i speak and read english very well as you can see so see ya later
Response from ancientgirl (Author of The Long Wait)
Thank you so much for taking the time to read it. I'm glad you enjoyed it. This was actually my first long SS/HG fic. I'd written two one-shots before this, called There They Were, and that got my feet wet. Thanks again for reading and leaving me a review.
AWWWW! that is such a sweet story. I <3 it!
Response from ancientgirl (Author of The Long Wait)
Thank you! I'm glad you enjoyed it.
Lovely story. I like it a lot.
And you made me remember that in PoA, Crooks was able to comunicate with Padfoot, what brought me the idea of Severus finding out that Crooks helped Sirius once. *giggles* Sorry, nothing to do with the story, but I thought it was funny.
Like I said, I like the story a lot. ;)
Response from ancientgirl (Author of The Long Wait)
I've got to say I didn't like Sirius at all! He was just as big a bully as James, and not the best influence on Harry.I'm glad you liked the story. Thanks for taking the time to read it.
That was a great story, i loved reading it and can't wait to read the sequel, i am off to find it now.
Response from ancientgirl (Author of The Long Wait)
I'm glad you enjoyed it. I've got two short sequels - A Small Addition and Caught in the Act, then I've got the longer sequel called Lestrange Days.I hope you enjoy those as well.Let me know what you think. Thanks for reading this.
I loved this story! Severus' reaction to what he heard was believable and I felt so bad for him and Hermione. And I adored Crooks and Osiris. I would probably read a story just about their exploits. Osiris' sacrifice was heartbreaking. And I was very excited to see that there are sequels.
Response from ancientgirl (Author of The Long Wait)
Thank you. I'm very happy that you enjoyed this. I loved writing it, and Osiris and Crooks were fun to write. I've been thinking about writing something with just the both of them, perhaps just a short story. If I manage to come up with something sufficiently devious for them, I'll surely post it here. Thanks for reading this and taking the time to review it. I really appreciate that.
So there I was having worked late the night before until after 2 a.m. trying to make sense of some client’s finances for the new tax year.Tired, fed up, went to bed. Got up early this morning determined to have some down time. Found a fav author had updated a new story. Same author had also remembered me, which brought a smile, then told me about another site.Dually signed up. Went back to work to try to save pennies from the grabbing taxman. Then went to the new site. Found new writer and read a story up to the last updated chapter, feeling good about this new site. Found one of her fav writers, read a one shot.Hubby brings nibbles and a fine Chardonnay and orders me to relax and read a story, drink the wine.herefore, I pressed Random. And simply smiled.Second? Third time around, still brilliant. Thank you, Eileen,

Aha, so sounds like this is a busy time of year for you. Are you an accountant?I'm so happy you came over. This is a wonderfu site and if you are a writer you will find that the site owner and admins are lovely and friendly people. If you are a reader, you will also not be disappointed. There have been some fantastic writers migrating over here and you'll find some really good reading material.I'm so happy you enjoyed this story so much that you have read it often. I can't thank you enough for your support and the lovely reviews you give me.Take care and have a relaxing day. That's an order.
Ancient Girl~I just wanted to take the opportunity to tell you how much I enjoyed this story. I read it a little while ago on Ashwinder and just loved it. It brought me to tears. ;-) In a good way, though. Very well written and thought out. ~Ginny
Response from ancientgirl (Author of The Long Wait)
Thank you so very much. I'm happy you enjoyed it so much. And I'm sorry I brought you to tears, but I'm happy too since I wanted it to be an emotional story. I'll be bringing all of my stories here little by little. Thanks again for your kind words.
Thank you for this cute story. It actually made me tear up, especially HG's anguish at the mirror and Osirus' sacrifice. I'm looking forward to reading the sequels.
Response from ancientgirl (Author of The Long Wait)
Thank you so much for taking the time to read the entire story and leave me a review. I'm always thrilled when I read that people get emotional from what I've read. I find it the most amazing compliment! Thank you!

gets me every time.
I've read this story before. It's really good and I'm enjoying it a second time. This chapter hurts SO much. Poor Severus. I think it seems totally in character for him to react without getting all the facts.
Response from ancientgirl (Author of The Long Wait)
I'm glad your finding it enjoyable the second time around.I've always thought he might be the kind of person to act first and ask questions later. I mean if something looks odd he might assume that's the way things are and go with his first impression.

One of my favorite stories! Just did another 're-read. The " we aren't here" cracks me up every time! Missy aka LovesRickman
Oh, ancientgirl, I quite agree. I can EASILY see Hermione hexing Ron with absolutely no regrets whatsoever if he pissed her off badly enough. Wonderful story! I have truly enjoyed it.
Response from ancientgirl (Author of The Long Wait)
Thanks. I got some flak for that, but in my opinion she would have done it in a heartbeat. She knew Ron's animosity towards Severus and because of his comments that were overheard she almost lost something very dear to her. Hell, I would have hexed him. I'm glad you enjoyed this.
Response from Satai Delenn (Reviewer)
I too would have reacted in the same manner. We protect what is ours. It's just that simple. And when someone threatens us, we react. Or, at least, we should.
Response from ancientgirl (Author of The Long Wait)
Exactly. She considered her relationship with Severus something very important at that point, and to have realized she could have lost it all due to some stupid comment, she flipped.
Well, I figured that Osiris would be a bridge between them, but I assumed it would be to initially get them together, not to fix the damage done by that idiot Ron! Well, I really hope that Osiris can fix things and fix them soon!!!!
Response from ancientgirl (Author of The Long Wait)
Ah, Osiris still has a very large role in getting them together.
LMAO! Draco is still a prat, albeit a funny one and in a nice way now! lol. Very cute!
Response from ancientgirl (Author of The Long Wait)
LOL, yeah, I've always liked the idea of him and Ginny together, but I never liked the idea of this fluffy cuddly Draco. I wanted him to be sort of a prat, as you said, but a nice one and a bit of a joker.
OH! My stomach turned in knots at the fact that they both want each other and yet both deny themselves and each other! So sad.
Response from ancientgirl (Author of The Long Wait)
Yeah, I always feel like they might be two people who are afraid to make the first move for fear of rejection.
Response from Satai Delenn (Reviewer)
Yeah. And I know exactly how that feels. Maybe that's why it's been 11 years since I've been on a date. Maybe that's also why I feel like I identify so much with both of these characters. I feel like I'm a combination of the two of them.
Response from ancientgirl (Author of The Long Wait)
11 years? It's been about 6 for me. I tried to write them putting myself in their place and using my own expierences. I didn't want to make him to mushy, nor her too fiesty, since I don't see either of them like that either.
Response from Satai Delenn (Reviewer)
Well, you are doing a most excellent job!!!
Response from ancientgirl (Author of The Long Wait)
Thank you.
Just the two sequels A Small Addition and Lestrange days or have you done more? hint hint? Have I bothered you yet about signing up for the new round of the HG/SS exchange?
Response from ancientgirl (Author of The Long Wait)
The order is: The Long wait, A small addition, Caught in the act and then Lestrange Days.LOL, I only did one exchange. I think I used Fancy Meeting You here. I haven't been inspired to write anything HP related since just before the last book. I was super disappointed and it sort of just killed my drive to write any more.
Response from MollysSister (Reviewer)
I can certainly understand that. In my world DH does not exist. Do me a favor and hop over to the community and read some of the prompts. If your muse remains dormant I promise to leave you alone...Deal?sshg_exchange on LJ

I'll have a look and see if anything inspires me. Thanks!

“Harry, you don’t understand. I don’t want to, I have to.” Draco was finally handed some ammo on a silver plate, he had to take it! I wonder if this is where I first thought about HP/PP? Its a secret love of mine. On to the sequels!
So can Hermione and Severus hear Crooks now too or only Orisis?
Response from ancientgirl (Author of The Long Wait)
Eventually they do hear him. I've got 3 sequals and they hear him in those.

Ahhhhh and so the title of our story is made! Hermione is a forgiving soul to be sure!
Response from ancientgirl (Author of The Long Wait)
My first HP related fanfic was a drabble for I believe The Mirror of Erised challenge, a long time ago. That little drabble gave me the idea for this story. I don't even know if I still have it. For some reason I never posted it here. I should look for it.

I have tears in my eyes AGAIN!
I inhaled part of my orange laughing at this line :“I can’t believe this is the same guy who defeated Voldemort,” said Osiris.
Response from ancientgirl (Author of The Long Wait)
LOL, I liked writing that part. Harry is so clueless.
