Reviews for The Long Wait
I read this story (and the one or two sequals that went along with it) before you pulled them off of SH. I Just want to say that I love Osiris and Crookshanks. They are so funny. I was also cracking up at the Buffy reference (tho I think that may be in one of the sequels). Your sense of humor is great.
Response from ancientgirl (Author of The Long Wait)
I'm glad you had enjoyed this before. The Buffy scene is in Lestrange Days, and I just had to add that in. Osiris and Crooks are so much fun to write and I'm glad people enjoyed them. Thank you for your comments, I really appreciate them.
i can't wait for the sequels!
finally.. i thought he'd never get around to thinking he's wrong!
Response from ancientgirl (Author of The Long Wait)
Yeah, it took him a while, but Draco's talk helped.
yay!
Just rereading this wonderful story :)
I remember reading it before on WIKTT.
And this line made me laugh quite a bit:
'Of course it is Albus,' he thought, 'I'’m on a couch, with a beautiful woman in my arms, so why wouldn’t Albus be knocking on the door.'
I shall now continue :) Well done, by the way.

I'm happy you liked it so much to read it again. Thank you.
This was an excellent story! I actually got teary-eyed on the part where Hermione found the mirror. Now I'm off to read your sequels!
Response from ancientgirl (Author of The Long Wait)
I'm glad you enjoyed it. And I'm happy you got emotional too! LOL, its always nice to know that something you wrote had that kind of impact.
I hope you enjoy the others. Thank you for taking the time to read this one.
This story was amazing! I was listening to music while reading this and as if on cue of the final chapters the ending song of Beaty and the Beast came on. I am a softy also, so i did, in fact, tear up. I can't wait to read the sequels!! You have talent!
Response from ancientgirl (Author of The Long Wait)
Oh I'm glad you enjoyed this. I have to say, I write a good portion of my stories while listening to music. Somethings I'll hear a song that will inspire something in a chapter, or I'll have to write a certain scene and remember a song that would help me get in the right frame of mind to write it. Music is a great tool while writing.
I hope you enjoy the sequels, and thank you very much for the compliment. I began writing fanfic to practice my style of writing, to see if people liked it. It's nice to know some do.
that was very sweet, i can't wait to read all the sequels!! great job! their baby is so cute!
Response from ancientgirl (Author of The Long Wait)
Thank you. I hope you enjoy them.
yup, ron had that comming to him!
Response from ancientgirl (Author of The Long Wait)
I got a bit of grief for that from a couple of people, but he deserved it.
yesss! i could kiss those animals right now! i just love happy endings! that bit with the mirror was very good too, that he had to wait to see her as a woman was so sweet!
Response from ancientgirl (Author of The Long Wait)
Ah, you finished it. I'm glad you enjoyed it. I really loved writing Osiris and Crooks.
aww, this is soooo sad! i really hope that everthing is going to be okay, osiris is just wonderful. snape deserves to be happy!
Response from ancientgirl (Author of The Long Wait)
It all works itself out in the end. Thanks for reading this and taking time to review it as much as you have.
noooo! it was going so well! stupid ron, stupid severus, grrr...
i really hope it gets fixed fast!
Response from ancientgirl (Author of The Long Wait)
I didn't dwell on it for to long, since I can't stand too much angst in a story.
hahahaha! sneaky sneaky! i can't wait to see how this goes....
Response from ancientgirl (Author of The Long Wait)
Yeah, the old coot is a sneaky bastard.
Still such a wonderful story to read:-))
Response from ancientgirl (Author of The Long Wait)
Thank you. It's wonderful to know that people are still interested in reading these.
Poor Mrs. Norris! That stinking castle is cold! Can't Osiris fix her? Isn't she also an animagus stuck as a cat or just a cat? Or is she a kneezle like Crookshanks? It would be fun if she was an animagus like Osiris. Only, she belongs to another man. She might not think those two are as funny as another guy would. I'm very happy for Severus and Hermione, but well, I think babies and children are highly over rated. I hope they have a house elf to nanny for them. They haven't been married long enough to give up newlywed sex. I wonder what potions they could create using Hermione's magical breastmilk? Normal breastmilk has wonderful healing properties. Just think what magical breastmilk could do! Maybe it can grow hair on cats!!!! I wonder if there are magical lactation consultants? Breastlady

Not to worry, Filch took well care of his kitty. Yeah, I don't have any kids myself, not the two legged kind that is. At this point in my life, I have no interest in having any either.

All the newest research shows that women who don't have children are happier than women who do. I can vouch for that, I think. My life would have been better without kids. The only thing is they sure made me humble and much less judgmental. I think I was a very nice person before babies but my idealism when in the toilet by the time I had 2 teenage daughters. I love my dogs and kitties. I would have been just as fulfilled and had soooooo much less stress and drama. If I could do it over. I wouldn't have kids. I would have screwed up enough to get humble some other way I'm sure. Stay with pets. If you want kids, I will gladly give you mine. They are 31 and 27 but they don't seem that old. They come with wonderful grandchildren if you need toddlers in your life. My boxers just passed away 2 years and 3 months ago. The toddlers have replaced my dogs for now. They and their moms live with me. I only play with the pet toddlers and only when I feel like it. I make their moms do everything else. I've been there, done that and don't want to go back. I like to play zombies with my 4 year old grandson. He slays me, but I play dead really long until he is getting worried. When he gets really close to see if I'm really dead, I sit up and yell Arrrrggggh!!!! and he screams like a little girl, then we do it again until I'm tired.

I totally agree. Ron had it coming! He could have completely ruined 3 people's lives with his hateful words. I would not have liked Hermione as much as I do now if she hadn't kept her word. He won't die or anything. Fred and George will be a great comfort to him, I'm sure. I wish someone would make a picture of it. Maybe I'll try sometime. Do you think TPP would post that kind of a picture?
Git! He's lucky she loves him so much. Thank the stars for Osiris, Crooks and Harry. And as I said once before...fuck Ronnald. How much needless pain and heartbreak has been caused throughout the ages with thoughtless words and the speaker goes on with their life never knowing that some mean thing they don't even remember saying, destroyed or irreparably altered another human being's life?
Crookshanks is remarkably loquacious. He must be lonely if the is that intelligent and has no one to talk to. Does he talk to Miss. Morris? Does he talk to any other animals? Osiris should teach him ligilimency so that he can talk to Hermione. Please, I hope this doesn't drag out too long. I was really enjoying the happy part.
I know I'm not Severus and haven't had all the bad things happen to me that he has, but I would have told Hermione how I came upon her supposed scheme. I would have asked her what she had to say for herself. He knows Ronnald Weasely is a little dick.
Response from ancientgirl (Author of The Long Wait)
That is what a rational person would do. But, seeing as he was shafted as a young man, I doubt someone like him would have thought that. He saw what he saw and heard what he heard and for him, there's no reason to think there is a better explanation.

Well, I just knew Ron was going to screw things up! Hermione doesn't even know what's coming up. Severus should have stayed around to hear the rest if he was going to spy. Hermione won't be able to defend herself because she won't know what happened.
He isn't worried she will stray. He just can't imagine that every other male in Hogsmead won't find her as absolutely gorgeous as he does and won't be able to keep their grubby fingers off of her. If I was young I would be offended, I suppose. But in my hag years I would think it was humorous. Severus can't be perfect. He's only human after all. You don't get Coldridge in bed without some other quirk to balance it out. I got nice husband. The one that would never boss me around husband. You know why he never bosses me around? It's too much damn trouble. So with nice husband I got lazy and indecisive husband. If I make all the decisions, nothing can be his fault and that's less for him to do. And if he does me little favors, I won't make him talk to me. It's been 33 years, but I had him pegged in the first 10. Maked me look like a real bitch to those who don't know what he's really thinking. He's like a dog I used to have that weighed 172 lbs. If he didn't want to do something, he would just lay down and go limp. I hope she doesn't over react. Oh, and...fuck Ronnald! I'm sure he'll have a fit of some kind. I hope not though.

Nobody is perfect, most of all men! Look, my brother hs the nicest guy in the world, but he's also one of those guys that wants to exert the least amount of energy to do anything. Not the romantic type at all, from what his wives have told me. And yeah, growing up with him I knew he wasn't the most emotional person. Me, I'm TOO emotional, and being pre-menopausal and dealing with anxiety issues aren't helping. So, I write. LOL

OMG! I would love a man to make love to me that way! I'm inclined to think it never happens except after I see all of the elaborate flash mob proposals that I would never think a male mind could conceive, I am happy and sad to say I must be wrong. Happy to know those men exist. Sad that I will never ever have anyone do anything so romantic as quote poetry to me as we make love. I can't get dinner and a movie out of the stick in the mud. He's tired...and the little stick broke years ago. Damn! Quote all the Coleridge you like, dear. This is the only place I'm ever going to get to hear it.

Girl, I know I don't know ANYONE who has ever been made love to like that! LOL, and seriously, I doubt I ever will. LOL, you have me laughing my ass off over here. Don't fret though, you are not the only one. I don't even have anyone at the moment. Actually, I haven't for several years, too many to even remember how many!

Being a remarkable witch is one of the reasons she is able to capture Severus' heart, when no other woman ever has since that Evans girl. Of course Hermione could master ligilemency in a week. I can't wait to see what happens in the next chapter. I hope you give details. We're probably in for a rough patch at the beginning of school as Hermione learns to master authority over teenagers. She might be too nice at first.
That hand on the back is very special considering who's hand it is. My tummy would be doing flips. Severus must be very sure of Hermione to put himself out like that. He has left no question that he is interested in her as more than a friend. I'm sure she has never seen him touch the other teachers. I wonder how he will behave around the rest of them. Teaching her ligilimency is a risky proposition. He may be a skill Occlomence but she is not. Will he continue his gentlemanly ways and not look for her secrets? I wonder what Osiris found in her head. She isn't as simple as he thinks. She knew he was in there. She was very polite not to be offended by it. Did he learn anything to tell Severus? Well, I suppose if he did, he can't tell Severus if he doesn't want to be blasted for doing so. On with lunch!

He is letting his guard down with her and that to me is a large indication as to how he feels toward her.

So he didn't actually see Hermione in the Mirror. He isn't sure who he saw is he? He didn't waste any time getting down to business. The kiss was a wonderful surprise. I'm glad she was able to calm him quickly with that poetry business. If he is so grateful for her understanding all the time, I hope she learns more of his most embarrassing secrets if she gets a kiss every time she puts him at ease. Hermione is playing this perfectly by letting him set the pace. Good girl.
