I am a grateful fan of Ms. Rowling and of her overwhelming Byronic Character, Severus Snape! Please check out the first chapters of each fic (except for "How Can I Tell You," which is on Chapter 2) to see pictures of the Heroines.

Another spell-binding chapter. The effect on Voldemort by the potion was a bit scary. To know that someone (Ginny) will have power over him is so different that it's almost hard to believe. That must be some potion. Of course, Severus created it, so, of course it's super powerful. I was really intrigued by Severus' reactions at the end. Well, first, I loved what he told Ginny about loving more than just one part of a woman. Go, Severus! But it was even better to realize that his 'typical' behavior at being rejected was simply a test. And what a test. I'm glad Hermione passed. It's really nice to see her becoming more self assured. It's only what she deserves.

Thank you! I'm glad you saw that for what it was. What can be more sexier than a man who wants you to be a strong, independant woman? He will not have sex with her until he feels they can be equals. He respects and loves her that much. That's HOT!Thanks,Livvy

Oh, man! Somebody get me a fan before I faint dead away. Whew! Hot is right!

Well that mission went easier than I expected. Wormtail got what he deserved!

Oh, yes. That was twenty years in the making. Severus got his revenge. Thanks,Livvy

Another wonderful chapter! Ginny's strength and courage is astounding. Voldemort won't know what hit him. I particularly love Snape's line, "A man’s true love does not rest purely on one area of a woman. It is her whole being." That line melted my heart. I also LOVED the glimpse we had of the old Hermione. She's standing up for herself again. Yeah!! Can't wait for more!!

I hope you like how I work all this out. Severus knows he has to really do something drastic in PUBLIC to get Hermione to believe in his love for her because her humiliation was so public. Thanks,Livvy

I am glad that you made the murder of Wormtail especially cold and heartless. I think it's a nice counter-point for his sweetness to Hermione. I feel for Ginny - Voldemort. Randy. Urrgghhh!! Though I know it will have to have some lasting effect on her, I see her sacrifice as an interesting way of making Ginny and Harry even better suited to one another. They've both given more than practically anyone else.
Response from livvy6 (Author of Longing)
I wanted this story to show the balances between the three couples. One end of the spectrum is Severus and Hermione that started badly and now he is working his tail off to make things better and show how much he cares and will sacrifice for her.On the other end is Voldemort and Ginny which is a forced, coerced relationship where the wizard wants to dominate and control the witch, the complete opposite of Severus and Hermione. Then in the middle we have Harry and Ginny. These two were friends and then became an item and Harry loves her enough to let her do what needs to be done and is standing by her side. Theirs is a slow burning relationship that will ignite after Voldemort is gone.I hope you like the outcomes! Thanks,Livvy

That's got to be one of the best sex scene where people decide not to have sex. Wonderful chapter!

Your whole lovely chapter was reduced down to one horrible part, Severus having to morph into being Wormtail! EW!To have to consume a portion of Peter, to be in his form ... to grovel. That's one of the most disgusting things; at least Sev got to do him in and true to his name, he became a rock. Good job!
Response from livvy6 (Author of Longing)
I'm glad you liked that. Severus had 20 years of revenge to make up for and how he has a little rock to look at from time to time. A bit greusome but very satisfying! Thanks,Livvy

You have made Ginny into such a strong character that I look forward to her encounter with Voldie-- I think she will give as good as she gets. My feelings about Severus are still conflicted. There is just something... I don't know, a bit dark about him. But I guess that is just his character. I wanted to slap him around a bit when he was saying that a man should love a woman for her whole being, and then he went and pouted when Hermione turned him down sexually. Luckily, he came around! He loves her, I can feel that, it is just he doesn't have experience expressing himself. 'Tis why we love him so much, I guess. There are so many possible interpretations to his character! Thanks for the update!
Response from livvy6 (Author of Longing)
Severus wanted to test Hermione, to see how far she had come. He wants to know she is strong mentally again and that her self-esteem is healing. He really doesn't want to have sex yet and he knew she wasn't ready. Thanks for reviewing!Livvy

Oh my, poor Ginny. I am quite sure that she is woman enough to handle what lies ahead, but I think she's quite right about Harry and his ego.
Response from livvy6 (Author of Longing)
Yes, Ginny will have to be strong to do what is required of her, but Harry will also give Ginny a surprise. He understands and accepts that she has to do these things in order to stop Voldemort. Thanks,Livvy

Once again, a very powerful chapter. It takes a true genius to actually make me feel a tiny bit sorry for Voldemort.Hope Hermione will not be disappointed when she finally makes Severus hers. It's never good to have too high expectations.Thank you for sharing this jewel with us, Livvy./M

LOL! Awww, I made you feel for Voldemort. Yes, Hermione will have to remember that Severus isn't going to turn into the perfect guy just because she knows how much he loves her. Thanks!Livvy

Poor Ginny, she's in an unbearable situation, but she's a strong witch. I can't wait to see how she deals with Voldermort.
I'm glad Severus and Hermione worked things out. It's nice to see her stand up for what she wants.
Livvy, you're writing a well thought out and riveting story. I'm really looking forward to the next chapter.
Response from livvy6 (Author of Longing)
Thank you! Shellsnapeluver really held my hand throughout this process. I have to give her so much credit! Yes, Ginny will have to be very brave to do what is required of her. But she is strong and she will pull through and not fall apart. Thanks!Livvy

I want to start by saying that I had no intention of reading this whole story. I was intrigued by the summary and I thought to take a quick peek. Now I find that I've read to the end and I have no idea how long I've been sitting here. I'm sore and an emotional wreck, which if you knew me you would know that I consider that the highest compliment. To be so pulled in by your writing that I take the joys and sorrows to heart is a true talent. You deserve to be applauded.
Response from livvy6 (Author of Longing)
Thank you for your lovely comment! I'm glad it was able to reach you deep inside and cause a reaction. That is the best compliment I could ever receive :)Thanks again!Livvy
Wow. That's pretty hardcore there at the end. Bastard!Snape is such a .....well, a bastard! Can't wait to read more...and I will...right now!
Response from livvy6 (Author of Longing)
Yes, he does excel at being a bastard. But there is a reason behind all of it that will be revealed later. Thanks!Livvy
I think Hermione is slowly beginning to understand Severus' position, but she has spent so much doubting and living in such poor self-esteem that she won't accept it very easily.
Response from livvy6 (Author of Longing)
She won't. She is going to make him work hard to prove to her he is sincere. Thanks!Livvy

It's ingenious the way you have woven Ginny and Voldemort together. Brilliantly done. And Severus... I could picture him sitting there with her clearly.

Good for Ginny! I am so glad that she is pointing this out to Snape. And really, not just to Snape, but to the others.

Luckily the wizarding world can heal these scars, just as Severus is helping heal her mental scars.
Response from livvy6 (Author of Longing)
Indeed. Snape is going to have a lot of work on his hands to heal those mental scars, though. Thanks!Livvy

Ugh... the worst part is that Severus reasons for acting this way make perfect sense. It would have been okay if Hermione could have spoken of it and turned for support elsewhere, but being denied that option left her no choice.
Response from livvy6 (Author of Longing)
Another blunder on Dumbledore's part: not letting Hermione talk to the people she trusts about what happened. He seems to have a problem with mistakes like that (ie: Harry)Thanks,Livvy

Go Ginny! I am so glad she stood up for Hermione. Someone had to do something besides coddle her.
Response from livvy6 (Author of Longing)

The poor, poor thing. How awful that she feels her only recourse is to cut. And I am glad for that bit of insight into Severus' thoughts.
Response from livvy6 (Author of Longing)
Thanks. It is a very sad a desperate thing she is resorting to. I'm happy you like Snape's thoughts about feelings. Thanks!Livvy

Just what Severus wants – to spend his day figuring out why she can't even take a simple potion without causing drama.
Response from livvy6 (Author of Longing)
Well, this is rather serious, her body's reaction to it. Besides, Snape hasn't been all that drama-free when it comes to dressing Hermione down in front of other people. Thanks,Livvy

That was a great scene between Harry and Severus. And yes, the Dark Arts are seriously squicky. Hermione must feel so cut off and uncomfortable. Just as she begins to face her issues with Severus, she has to see this.
Response from livvy6 (Author of Longing)
Yeah, it's pretty hard for her since she is already so sensitive and vulnerable. I had to make sure that Snape went after her to ease her mind. Thanks!Livvy

I feel bad for the both of them. Hermione didn't intend to get caught, but she obviously wasn't being too careful. It must have been an incredibly stressful evening, having to face rape or death, then to have someone she has feelings for tell her that she isn't even worth rape. But Severus just had his life's work reduced to nothing, all because someone he didn't want around kept coming around.
Response from livvy6 (Author of Longing)
I feel badly for both of them as well. However, his refusal to accept her as an Order member didn't help matters and the fact it wasn't her choice to work with him over the summer - that was Dumbledore - really makes his comments just bad form. But of course nothing is as it seems and there are reasons as to why Snape reacted so viciously. Thanks for reviewing,Livvy
