Definitely a good point about the Slytherin angle.  Interaction, and close interaction at that, is definitely the key here. James is quite a character.  Personally, I think he's snotty and full of himself.  His friendship with Sirius seems to bring out the worst in him.  I wonder if they weren't as close of friends, would he be such a git?  I suppose we'll never know that one.

Fear not, I think you will like how it all ends up eventually.  (I hope that's not too forward of me, I'm not trying to imply that my story is perfect or anything.)  I'm glad Hermoine is in character.  She's a bit difficult to pull off, I think.  As for Severus, he'll be a tiny bit more in character when he's not relating to Hermione.  At least for now.

She does fear for the future.  She was reticent to discuss any of this with Severus, but Albus told her to tell him whatever she felt was relevant, so she's embraced that wholeheartedly.  I'm not exactly sure what you mean by the Cheshire Cat remark, forgive my ignorance, but this won't be a sickeningly sweet story.  Of course, Hermione has already changed the future with her appearance in the past and the things she has already told Severus.  However, everyone will not be living behind white picket fences by the time she returns to her present, I assure you.  There will be plenty of twists, turns, and danger.  That's about all I'm willing to divulge at this early stage of the game.  :)   Thanks for your input.

I have de-aged him by a little bit, but I wanted Hermione to be able to relate to both Lucius and Severus well, and the only way I saw that happening was if they were both of age.
