Jumped on the Harry Potter bandwagon in 2000 (when Goblet of Fire was out in hardback). Prisoner of Azkaban is my favourite in the series, followed by Order of the Phoenix. I read and write in the SS/HG corner of the Potterverse.
Reviews for Polyandry and Other Problems
A thorny problem, indeed. I don't think there's much choice but for Hermione to do her clandestine Arithmancy research, as it doesn't appear that they have much time to work with. While I can certainly understand Severus' fears, if they don't get a handle on the upcoming mutation--considering how close Hermione came to death last time--it sounds like her chances of surviving another bout with the plague aren't very good at all.
Response from ayerf (Author of Polyandry and Other Problems)
Indeed! She definitely thinks so, and deep down I'm sure Severus would admit the same. If very reluctantly.Exactly! Thanks for reviewing, and sorry for the delay in my reply!
This fic I just love! This is an brilliant story!
Response from ayerf (Author of Polyandry and Other Problems)
Thank you very much! I'm delighted to hear it and I hope you enjoy the rest of the story.
Wow I'm all caught up.I hope he is able to find a cure.the poor families.hopefully kingsley is wearing bullet proof stuff..
Response from ayerf (Author of Polyandry and Other Problems)
Hopefully he will be able to...Thanks for reading and reviewing!
I'll fetch an bedlinen and spell it in blig, red letters: This is not your fault, Severus!I suppose Umbridge is too much toad and too little human(e) to be affected by the Plague? Of course she would gladly "forget" the Muggle-born witches.
Response from ayerf (Author of Polyandry and Other Problems)
Hopefully he'll believe you! That might explain it - she'll give toads a bad name. Thanks for reviewing!
since only one commented about it yet: I absolutely loved Lucius' problem with his strutting Patronus. On the one hand he's human having such a problem conjuring one, and then the beast is as much of a proud showoff as any Malfoy. Otherwise horrible as the whole story, but excellently written!
Response from ayerf (Author of Polyandry and Other Problems)
Thank you, I'm glad Lucius's proud Patronus worked for you!Horrible in a good way, I hope!
I am so sorry about the death of your grandmother. I lost mine last year, and I know how it can be. *hug*
Response from ayerf (Author of Polyandry and Other Problems)
Thank you, and my sympathies to you. *hugs*
OOOOOOOOOOOOOoooooooooooooooooh I just want to *strangle* Umbridge! And Fudge, too!
Response from ayerf (Author of Polyandry and Other Problems)
They'd both certainly deserve it. Thanks for reviewing!
Well, Slughorn redeamed himself a bit. Umbridge continues to dismay.
Response from ayerf (Author of Polyandry and Other Problems)
Slughorn is certainly a saint in comparison to Umbridge. Thanks for reviewing!
every time you turn over a slimey rock, there's umbitch. that was an exciting chapter. thanks and mucho smoochies
Response from ayerf (Author of Polyandry and Other Problems)
It certainly seems that way with all the horrible things she does. Thanks for reviewing!
Wow!! That's a whole lot of action in this chapter. I'm glad Lucius was able to give Severus a little notice, and so glad that Kingsley and Gawain were there to help. Slughorn acquits himself a little but he better help Severus as much as he can. Umbridge... hey, wait, UMBRIDGE isn't sick! I think Dolores would make a fine guinea pig for Severus' experiments. Muahaha! Thanks for the new chapter.
Response from ayerf (Author of Polyandry and Other Problems)
Thank you! Glad you liked all the action. Hopefully Severus will get all the help he needs. Pity that Umbridge can't make herself useful that way for reasons that will soon become clear - there's an update on the way at last, to be posted as soon as my betas are finished with it.
Dolores Umbridge-Fudge is a name I never want to hear from again. Throw her into Azkaban and let her rot there. That woman in amoral. Thank you for the update my dear Ayerf you have made my week!
Response from ayerf (Author of Polyandry and Other Problems)
If anyone deserves to rot in Azkaban, it's Umbridge. Thanks for reviewing! I only wish I could update more often - the next one is finally coming soon.
I'm so glad that the law is resinded, and furious at Fudge. I expected such a hemious act from Umbridge. Imperous my arse! She loved doing... well, I digress.Another wonderful chapter.
Response from ayerf (Author of Polyandry and Other Problems)
They make quite a horrible pair! Thanks for reviewing!
aawww ya shoulda let her have at him, ya know? i mean...who would have said anything, really? ~entertains malfoy by telling him hes got a baldspot, right in the back of his head...and doesn't give him a mirror~
Response from ayerf (Author of Polyandry and Other Problems)
Fudge certainly would have deserved it...I'm sure he's got plenty of mirrors at home to check!
Response from keske (Reviewer)
no no! no mirrors! i hid all of them, im clever!
Wow, the angst and adrenaline! From one scapegoat to another, but justifiably so! Hopefully the joint arrests will help pacify the crowd and let Severus and his team get on with reworking the cure(s).
Response from ayerf (Author of Polyandry and Other Problems)
Hopefully most of the crowd will care about why they were arrested... if anyone can pacify them, Kingsley can. Thanks for reviewing!
Oh my! So much happened in there. I'm glad they made it out of it relatively unscathed but dark days are ahead of them. I wish them luck to save everyone that can be.
Response from ayerf (Author of Polyandry and Other Problems)
Indeed those dark days are... hopefully they'll manage to save them, yes. Thanks for reviewing!
Well! That was quite exciting. Sluggy seems to always manage to come through when the chips are down, no matter how self-serving and lazy he might be on a normal day.I am extremely glad to see Fudge and Umbridge get their comeuppances, even though this will not solve the basic problem of the plague itself. So, the addendum has been appealed, but will the research team find a viable cure before the population is completely decimated?I wish you the best of holidays and happy writing as always. *waves*
Response from ayerf (Author of Polyandry and Other Problems)
Good (or goodish, anyway) old Sluggy.Fudge and Umbridge certainly deserved it. Pity it doesn't solve that, yes.We shall see if a cure can be found...Thank you! It's taken more than long enough to write the next chapter. I hope you'll be pleased to hear that it's coming soon.
Well, the slop certainly did hit the fan. I think they were luck not being killed by the angry mob. Hopefully Fudge and his wife's arrest will pacify the crowd for now.
Response from ayerf (Author of Polyandry and Other Problems)
Indeed it did, and they were very lucky.Maybe it will if enough of them care about Muggle-borns... Kingsley should be able to make himself heard. Hopefully. Thanks for reviewing!
Whew! That was action-packed! :)
Response from ayerf (Author of Polyandry and Other Problems)
Thank you! Glad you liked the action.
What a cliff hanger you leave us delicate readers at! Im going to worried about Severus getting lynched now! It would be delightful if the general population surprised Severus with an out pouring of support...yes I know Im a dreamer.
Response from ayerf (Author of Polyandry and Other Problems)
And here I thought it was a pretty minor cliffie compared to some of them...If only the general population were that understanding! Thanks for reviewing!
Oh I never even thought about muggle born children contracting the plague. You have thought out every morbid detail havent you? I mean this as a compliment you know. What next??
Response from ayerf (Author of Polyandry and Other Problems)
I've tried to think of all the details I could - definitely not a pleasant task sometimes, like in that case.Thank you!
I agree with Kinglsey completely Severus cannot waste his time with the grunt work. He must focus on the cure. Are you absolutely for sure there arent any hidden arthmancy mistresses?? Like maybe one mistress has been on a retreat to Tibet and missed the plague?? The bit about the misscarriages is horrible. You really play merry hell over the emotions dont you! Im going to have to read fluff soon. I can tell already.
Response from ayerf (Author of Polyandry and Other Problems)
I'm sure Severus agrees, too, now that he knows the cure is being handled. Unfortunately there were no hidden survivors... the magical plague doesn't seem to be contracted in quite the same way as normal ones.It was pretty horrible to write, too! *points finger of blame at plot bunny* I hope you found that much-needed fluff.
I was laughing at Lucuis and his "Pensieve porn" at the begining of the chapter and now here at the end of the chapter I have goose bumps of alarm! I never thought you would bring back the plague. This is terrible! QUICK off to the next chapter!
Response from ayerf (Author of Polyandry and Other Problems)
I hoped it would be an unexpected twist! Thanks for reviewing!
my condolences on the loss of your grandmother. it's never easy to loose the ones we love no matter how old we are. thanks for the exciting update. love the idea of hermione on the war path. thanks and mucho smoochies
Response from ayerf (Author of Polyandry and Other Problems)
Thank you. It's never easy, no...Glad you liked Hermione on the warpath, next chapter coming soon.
that's our brilliant hermione! loved the last line. faboo update. thanks muchly
Response from ayerf (Author of Polyandry and Other Problems)
Thank you! I'm very glad you liked that line!
I love all the details you put in the story. I find it humorous that Hermione's mother managed to get a 'free ride' to Hogwarts as well.
Response from ayerf (Author of Polyandry and Other Problems)
Thank you! I'm very glad to hear it. I hoped that bit would be funny!
