Teenage Severus Snape and Lily find a room in the castle with a partially hidden staircase that leads them up to a private room at the top of a tower that even the Marauders don't know about.
Then twenty years later, Hermione Granger finds the room. Suddenly she’s confronted by Severus Snape, who’s always considered tower room to be his own private little nook, finds herself not only under the rooms spell, but must now meet the conditions of the room with the one professor that has always been her biggest enigma.

I love to write. A dreamer, a creator and filled with wonder, imagination and life. Sometimes I get lost in the other worlds I've read and in some I create. It's all good, I’m in good company.
“Imagination does not become great until human beings, given the courage and the strength, use it to create.”― Maria Montessori
“Our imagination flies -- we are its shadow on the earth.”― Vladimir Nabokov
“Imagination is everything. It is the preview of life's coming attractions.”― Albert Einstein
“Imagination will often carry us to worlds that never were, but without it we go nowhere.” ― Carl Sagan

Love this fic! That ws a sucky way for Severus to find out that Lily had married. Poor guy.Glad he finally wrote her. Am looking forward to their reunion.

Oh, of course you know I'll get them there, but you'll have to wait to see what happens. Thank you for the review,

, for the compliment and the review. Love the stars too.
That was one heck of a letter.
Response from beaweasley2 (Author of The Enchanted Tower Room)
Well it had to be - he was a full year late in sending one. Thank you for the review, blue.
Wonderful! I can't wait for their reunion!! Great writing on this chapter (like you could do anything less)--keep it up! ~Jen
Response from beaweasley2 (Author of The Enchanted Tower Room)
You are so sweet to say that, but now I'm blushing! I'm glad that you enjoyed this one and I hope to have the nexrt chapter out as soon as I can. Thank you for the review, I really appreciate your kind support.
Finally Snape writes to Hermione. I can see he now has "all his ducks in a row" and everything, but a year without contact was harsh. I hope she knocks his socks off at the ball.
Response from beaweasley2 (Author of The Enchanted Tower Room)
Yes, he finally has his 'new life' all set up and is ready to move forward, but yes, a year without a word is harsh. I hope to have the next chapter out really soon. Thank you for the review,

That was another great chapter. What a fabulous letter for Hermione to receive from Severus. He did take the safe way out, commenting on her brilliance and his earlier dismissal of her talent, rather than his true feelings.Should be an event-filled ball, eh?
Response from beaweasley2 (Author of The Enchanted Tower Room)
Thank you very much. Since he hadn't written in so long, he had to make it a good one, or he'd be in hot water! LOL He gave her exactly what she'd always wanted from him, praise. If anything, that in its self would mean more to her - the 'opening up' well, that will come later face-to-face. I hope you enjoy the ball, and thank you so much for the review.
That should be an interesting conversation. And you are going to have her enter on Harry's arm? That conversation may never take place then. So will he be jealous or skulk off to lick his wounds?
Response from beaweasley2 (Author of The Enchanted Tower Room)
Oh, doll, you'll have to wait a bit to find out. Yes, she's going to arrive on Harry's arm, and Ginny on his other. That's all I tell you. sorry. Thank you for the review, I hope to have the next chapter to you soon.
I was very glad to see Severus cleared and free - now it's just to wait and see when/how he and Hermione, both clearly still in love with the other, will actually get together again!I loved the description of the Malfoy library, and was pleasantly surprised to see Draco act so civilly.
Response from beaweasley2 (Author of The Enchanted Tower Room)
Yes, they are - but I have to get her through school first. I have plans set for the reunion. teeheheheheWell, we all grow up and Draco should too. So, I thought since he switched sides in this, he'd finally grow up some and put old hates aside. He might still 'prefer' pure-bloods, but he knows who the shakers and movers will be in the future, right?Thank you very much for the review.
Great story. More! More! It's been a while...
Response from beaweasley2 (Author of The Enchanted Tower Room)
LOL I just sent my chapter to my beta. Then I need to do my picture banner. I hope to have it to you soon. Thank you for asking and the support.
it's always such a treat to get an update to this story! love the way you depicted draco. faboo update. thanks so much
Response from beaweasley2 (Author of The Enchanted Tower Room)
Thank you very much. I'm so glad that you are enjoying this one. Draco's reaction was a fun bit to write. Hugs~
Wonderful story. Sorry I didn't know about it when you began posting, to be able to give you reviews as each chapter came out... BUT I'm glad I didn't have to wait to see how you'd handle Nagini's bite! I agree with the other reviewers, that I enjoy how you've followed canon quite far, giving conversations and scenes your own interpretation, but then changed the events at the end for this fic. I love the depth you've given to the events in 1977-78. I think you've captured the angst of a love-sick teen very well. Being a SSHG shipper, though, I love even more the relationship you're building between Hermione and Severus in 1997-98. Looking forward to the next chapter. :)
Response from beaweasley2 (Author of The Enchanted Tower Room)
Thank you very much. I'm delighted that you found this story and have enjoyed so far. I always thought that Hermione would have had a level head and would have done something to help Professor Snape - SO I had her do it! Pretty much I have followed canon as a timeline and then diverged at the end because I really didn't like the end of DH too much. It has been fun showing a parallel from Sev's time in the tower with Lily nad Severus' time with Hermione, purposefully making them start out the same, then becoming diferent, although he doesn't see it at first. But yes, he actually has a better relationship started with Hermione. Curse we knew how his relationship with Lily went, right? Sour.I hope to have the next one up soon. Thank you so much for your nice compliments.
this chapter was so sad, knowing what was coming. :( i am interested to see what you do next.
Response from beaweasley2 (Author of The Enchanted Tower Room)
Thank you. I hope you liked it anyway. Well, lets see... there is some camping. and more camping... Severus in the Headmaster's office... Hermione in the snow... and, er, a sword, mushrooms, and a tent! So now you know!
Response from kittylefish (Reviewer)
gee, now i guess i don't have to read the rest of the story! ;) i think the stars should give you a hint as to whether i liked it or not. :D
Response from beaweasley2 (Author of The Enchanted Tower Room)
Sorry, Kittlefish, being sassy doesn't translate on the page well. I suppose it depends on how close I follow DH. A book I think was rushed, sloppy and has too many holes in it.

Ohh, I'm really looking forward to seeing the year of DH from this angle now! I feel for Hermione - it's hard for Severus too, but at least he is aware of what is going on, while Hermione cannot really even trust her own feelings now.
Response from beaweasley2 (Author of The Enchanted Tower Room)
Thank you. Although, I'm not planning on haveing c h a p t e r s of camping, only a little of it. and some Headmaster scenes. Hope you like it.This war has torn them apart - as in seperated physically, but not emotionally. But things are at a strain now. Hope you hang in there as I move this story along.

I've should have reviewed this earlier, but seeing a new chapter up made me go and read the whole story again. I think this is one of the best ss/hg stories i have read. I love the use of the ghosts, it's a shame JKR didn't make such good use of them. Am glad the camping won't feature too much in your next chapters - look forward to reading more soon - please
Response from beaweasley2 (Author of The Enchanted Tower Room)
Thank you. What a sweet compliment. I really loved the story of the Grey Lady, and she fit in so well with this. As for the camping... there will be some, but also some Headmaster office scenes too. Hope you can get through some camping. Thanks for the inspirational emoticon.

I think one of the best parts of this story is how you are able to lead the reader to draw his or her own conclusions about the commonalities of Severus' early life with Lily and his later life with Hermione. Well done!

Thank you. Yes, I have given enough and then jerked the chain alittle in the relationships. We know how one ended, and the other is ... well, strained right now is a good way of puting it. Thank you for the review.

Thank goodness Hermione is analytical and is putting all the facts together to figure out what really is happening with her lover. Please do not let her turn to Ron!Severus's past and current life is hell. How he remains sane is a miracle. That is, of course, just one of the reasons Severus Snape is such a fascinating character.
Response from beaweasley2 (Author of The Enchanted Tower Room)
Thank you very much for the review. Yes, as a bright witch, she is not discounting what she knows she saw, and is trying to piece together what happened. Nope, sorry, i don't do Ron/Hermione it's like mixing bleach and ajax to me! (Don't try it if you don't know what I mean - it'll kill you!)Yes, well, that is what happens in canon. At least he has... Dobby! Ok, not the same. But there is a tip. Hugs, and thank you.

First - I just realized now that you are the author of both The Enchanted Tower Room and Plight-Trothed Bride. Two multi-chaptered fics during one challenge! You go!! Noting the above (albeit very very slowly lol) I also noticed how differently the two stories are written. Usually people have basically one writing style and you can decifer their work from that, but your stories are each truly unique unto themselves in your style of story-telling. I think that's pretty impressive. Anyway... onto the review :) I really like having this canon time line to follow. It makes it much easier to go back and forth and understand what was happening in each time period when you have a known event to relate things to. I also like the mirroring of Severus' emotions - Lily with James and then Hermione with Ron - in both eras. I too am wondering how he is going to get word to Hermione while she is off Horcruz hunting. Poor Sev, his job just gets harder and harder. On another note (and please, take this with the understanding that I have no where near the writing experience and ability that you do), I did find the last section - June 1997 - a little confusing as far as Severus' aches and pains. In the end I got it - he's disguised with polyjuice as an old man - but for the first several paragraphs I didn't know who the 'old man' was supposed to be. I thought maybe the speaker at the funeral, or a school governer, etc. I think (and again, take it as you will with the understanding of my limited expereince) a little clarifier at the beginning of that first paragraph would make that part easier to understand the rest of the 'old man' references being made. Of course, as alwasy I am thoroughly enjoying this tale (and PTB too!!) and look forward to seeing how Severus works this mess all out.

Actually,
Response from beaweasley2 (Author of The Enchanted Tower Room)
, I wrote six stories for the Summer Challenge, 3 of them chaptered fic, and all three still in progress. The Self-Writing Parchment was the third, and the art in chapter 4 of Plight and in the chapters of Tower are mine as well. *I know shameless self pimpage.* And a Potions Master’s Amalthea is another one of mine with a different feel. You might have read it, dunno. I’m extremely flattered by your compliment. I do try to have a perspective and a ‘where are they coming from’ or their ‘attitudes upon this happening’ when writing each story and stick to it. I also like to give you, the readier, something worth your time to read.
Considering that I bounce between 1977 and 1997, paralleling both relationships and mirroring how they evolved, and also mirror teenage Severus to adult Professor Snape, having something to anchor the story was necessary, or I’d get lost! Let alone confuse everyone else. I thank you for noticing. I really appreciate the review and the compliment, and the critical comment was taken the right way. (I went in and made a fix.) Thank you. Bea

Response from beaweasley2 (Author of The Enchanted Tower Room)
Yep, an update for you! Well, I am following the books, mostly. How it will end - not as you'd expect if you think I loved book 7. And I'm not going to have pages of camping... well, pages, but not chapters of it! YOu are quite welcome and thank you for the review.

Wow! What a chapter! Always worth the wait...fantastic job. I love how you make these events seem so plausible within the scenes of the book. Are you going to follow Deathly Hallows now that you've finished the storyline in Half-Blood Prince? Can't wait to see what your brilliant mind comes up with next!! Update again soon.~Jen

Thank you very much. I really appreciate the compliment. *gives warm fuzzy feelings* Yes, the next chapter is from book 7 and I am planning on breezing over the book, especially the camping parts. I'll try and get posted as soon as I can.

Love your stories!!! Glad Hermione noticed that Severus was helping their side in the battle, and that his actions towards her in particular were trying to protect her. It's good that she still has faith in him even if she's confused. Hope Severus finds some way of communicating with her. They both could use the support. Looking forward to the next!
Response from beaweasley2 (Author of The Enchanted Tower Room)
Thank you. If you think she's confused here, wait until next chapter. Yes, she saw him save and defend her firends, and knows he was trying to protect her. Her faith will get a boost soon. The next chapter is almost finished. then beta time - then posting. Soon, I hope, soon.Thank you for the review.

Well, we just ended book 6 and we have book 7, which I will be skimming through sort of, so it will be a chapter or 2. Thank you so much for the compliment, I really appreciate it.
