Hermione finds a mysterious piece of self-writing parchment in Weasleys' Wizard Wheezes that writes: Tell me your deepest desire. Thinking it’s a trick, she says, “I wish to see my soul mate?” and she suddenly finds herself at Severus’ feet.
This is my response to the Potter_Place Summer 2007 Prompt – #23

I love to write. A dreamer, a creator and filled with wonder, imagination and life. Sometimes I get lost in the other worlds I've read and in some I create. It's all good, I’m in good company.
“Imagination does not become great until human beings, given the courage and the strength, use it to create.”― Maria Montessori
“Our imagination flies -- we are its shadow on the earth.”― Vladimir Nabokov
“Imagination is everything. It is the preview of life's coming attractions.”― Albert Einstein
“Imagination will often carry us to worlds that never were, but without it we go nowhere.” ― Carl Sagan
Reviews for The Self-Writing Parchment
I'm so glad to see an update. This is my favorite of your WIP, although I adore the others. I'm amazed that you can keep the different stories straight. I'm sorry that I haven't left reviews until lately. I didn't realize how much you guys appreciate them. This is the first chance I've had to make amends on this story. just a couple of questions. Will Cillian's sister show up to create more trouble or is that worry in the past? Can Cillian cast a patronus? If so, what is it? I know he has someone he cares about, but does he like Ginny a little bit? Thanks for writing.
Response from beaweasley2 (Author of The Self-Writing Parchment)
Thank you very much. I'm really flattered. Yes, we love reviews, they are the chocolate and hugs that readers give us to keep going on, kinda like pats on the back and encouragement. I dont just say this for myself - but for all of us. Every review is special and gives writers warm fuzzies!questions? okay, shoot. OH Gods yes, Belinda enjoyed Severus too much to simply give him up, especially to a Mudblood! She's not given or giving him up!Yes, Cillian can cast a Patronus. It's Advanced Charms, I think Remus had told Harry. Cillian just hasn't had to yet. The shape, good question? hummmmNo, Cillian is or was nice to Ginny. Post candy trick - we'll see, but no, he loves someone else. Recheck chap 10. If you read carefully, you'll see it. He did something really brash and possibly damaging because of his love for her.Thank you very much for the review.

I really am loving this story!

Thank you.
I'm glad Wormtail is in a cage, fucker. And it looks as though both Draco and Snape are truly concerned for her.
Response from beaweasley2 (Author of The Self-Writing Parchment)
Some how I thought that having the rat in a cage, outside, would do him some good - posssibly.Yes, it would seem that Hermione is getting under their skin - a bit, maybe....
good work :)
Response from beaweasley2 (Author of The Self-Writing Parchment)
Thank you. I owe a great bit of gratitude to you, my beta - you've been both inspirational and really supportive of me and I really appreciate it.
I read all of these chapters last night. The dynamics between Snape and Hermione are so interesting. I wish we could get inside the elusive Severus Snape's mind here just a bit more, but we're undertaking Hermione's journey with her, and I'm guessing we'll figure him out when she does? I think you do a wonderful job alluding to what Snape may be thinking or feeling by describing what he does through her eyes instead of often shifting the story to be told from his perspective. We get tantalizing hints LOL, which is great.
Response from beaweasley2 (Author of The Self-Writing Parchment)
Thank you. That is exactly what I'm trying to do. I hope I don't fail in this as the story and their relationship progresses.
Ah, poor Hermione. And I have no idea what to make of Snape. Will he try to teach Hermione to Occlude better than she does? Or would that be too much of a risk, since Voldemort might happen across those memories if she doesn't get proficient enough? Or ... he says things that make him sound like he really still is on the Order's side, but then ... not so much. Good job keeping things ambiguous! Looking forward to more!
Response from beaweasley2 (Author of The Self-Writing Parchment)
Wow, Thanks! He has a less than a week to teach Hermione how to protect her mind, and the Dark Lord is really accomplished. She will get as proficient as she can - but you'll have to see how much she gets later. Sorry.
Response from firefly124 (Reviewer)
Oh, I wasn't expecting you to answer any of those questions! I wouldn't want to be spoiled. Just sort of musing aloud and sharing the questions that are running around in my head. :-)
Response from beaweasley2 (Author of The Self-Writing Parchment)
I promise - I won't give anymore spoilers!
Response from firefly124 (Reviewer)
Heh, just a case of I should be careful what I ask for. *g*
Your Snape isn't a nice man, though he showed a nice side when she was in pain. Of course, Hermione didn't see how she was important to him the way the Healer could see.
So, now they're to be wedded... probably. I wonder how Ron will take the news.
Response from beaweasley2 (Author of The Self-Writing Parchment)
I wanted Severus to be very close to canon, so there is a hard, cold side to him. He isn't always nice, but he does do kind things...As for Ron, well, probably as you'd expect...
I love this story so far. It is very well-written. Okay, off to read chapter 2!
Response from beaweasley2 (Author of The Self-Writing Parchment)
Thank you, I appreciate the compliment.
This story rocks! Can't wait for more.
Response from beaweasley2 (Author of The Self-Writing Parchment)
Thank you. I owe a great deal of gratitude to Southern_Witch_69, for really helping me clean up this story and for acting like a sounding board when I've needed it. There is more - lots more - and I'll get it out as soon as I can...
Wow...I am really loving this story. I hope you update soon!
Response from beaweasley2 (Author of The Self-Writing Parchment)
Thank you very much. I promise to, the next chapter is with my beta now!
How absolutely disturbing. Poor Hermione. And Severus, well, I'm not sure he knows exactly what he wants.
Response from beaweasley2 (Author of The Self-Writing Parchment)
Thank you for the review. It may take him a while to figure it out for himself...
You have my vote for the challenge....but please, keep going! Its great!
Response from beaweasley2 (Author of The Self-Writing Parchment)
Oh, my gosh! Thank you! I have up to chap 7 done waiting to beta, 8 written and 9 rough drafted - and more on outline..... charter 4 will post really soon!
Response from tonkatrish (Reviewer)
Awesome! I read daily---due to the fact I am an at-home mom with insomnia is a big factor to my reading non-stop. I'll be waiting!!! Thanks!
Really great story. I'm glad that there is still more to come. Keep up the good work! :)
Response from beaweasley2 (Author of The Self-Writing Parchment)
Thank you for the compliment. Yes, much more....
OMG. There is so much riding on timing here. A few minutes either way and Hermione could have been caught. I do hope Hermione will call Peren or Harry will call Dobby after they're settled in the Forest of Dean.I can't wait to find out what happens to Alecto, Mordaunt, Bellatrix, and Belinda. I hope the Dark Lord throws the book at them. MacCavish should be grateful that he had already gone back to Hogwarts... maybe the Dark Lord will have cooled down a bit before he sees him again. Now I'm off to read the update of CMWT.Beth
Response from beaweasley2 (Author of The Self-Writing Parchment)
Yep, it coul dhave been so close! Hit and miss all the way. They get theirs. You may only see a bit of it, but the ones who did this will be punished. LOL Happy reading. Thank you for reading and for the review.

My absolute favorite of yours. I do hope that you update soon! (:
Response from beaweasley2 (Author of The Self-Writing Parchment)
Just waiting on my beta to do the final check. But yes, I'll be updating as soon as I can. Thank you for the poke and gentle nudge.
I'm ashamed, I haven't reviewed up till now. just had to read on.I'm so interested in what this 7th year is going to be like under the circumstances you invented. Now she is seperated from H. and R., who stumbel through the Horokux-chase on their own, she is in Hogwarts, the only muggleborn, has no privacy at all, is a prisoner of the Lord, who wants to be called "My Lord" by her. That was devillish. Is married to Headmaster Snape and they both do still not know how magically their magical connection is. will we ever find or meet the parchment again? we have to.I'm glad this Cillian is around. Nice of you, to give Severus a friend, and Hermione a decent protector. And Dracos behaviour is still not readable for me. Just following orders? Am I to believe this? But I'm glad, that he is searching distance from his parens.waiting for more.salva
Response from beaweasley2 (Author of The Self-Writing Parchment)
I don't mind at all. I love this reveiw nad it makes up for it. So far, yes, H & R are on their own on the hunt - actually in hiding and we don't know where. Dean is not at school either. Yes, Hermione is at Hogwarts still under Dark Lord arrest and Severus is her husband, Cillian is her bodyguard and Draco is under orders from Volde to 'befriend' her. Nope, no, so far no privacy. The Parchment, can't tell you yet. That usually means yes, but I don't want to tell you yet.Cillian - we have seen his good side, he has a dark side much like Severus. He is very much like Severus, only he grew up in a $well off$ household, with a big pureblood(and mixed) family. You'll learn more about him later. Cillian was in his 6th year when Sev started teaching been friends ever since. Nope, Cillian is not going to fall for Hermione - he loves someone else.Yep, Draco is following orders. It was so much easier to get her to do what he wanted when they were all in SEverus' house, but now at Hogwars, Draco has lost some of his control and he doesn't know how to reassert it. Yes, He's going to be around a lot and nope, Dad isn't gonna be there.Hope you don't mind my babbling, but I think I answered your questions.

Unlike other authors who've abandoned promising stories,.. you are a great author with an awesome track record for us readers to grow in faith of. Thanks so much for your stamina. :D You are awesome! And yes, yet another awesome chapter! ^_^
Response from beaweasley2 (Author of The Self-Writing Parchment)
Thank you. I know I've been stuck on this one (mostly because it's hard for me to write child abuse - the Carrows) and it's getting darker on me. Sooo, well, I'm working on it, and all, still. Thank you for sticking with me and for the encouragement.
Sorry for the delayed review but I just got to read this chapter.
Wow, seems things are moving in the right direction, but I'm still on pins and needles when I read this.
Thanks for the update.
Response from beaweasley2 (Author of The Self-Writing Parchment)
Delayed means you came back to let me know, right - that's a huge compliment! Thank you. You're msot welcome for the update and I hope to do so again soon.
I loveeeeeeeee this story. Another great chapter...
Response from beaweasley2 (Author of The Self-Writing Parchment)
Thank you. Warms my heart to read comments like this. Thank you for the warm fuzzy.
Great chappie! Love your fics! Found it interesting that the Slytherin girls were discussing The Quibbler over tea... Also, was such a guy thing for Cillian to do to hand her a transparent dress to model for them (after she'd tried so many on that she probably wasn't even looking at them anymore before showing them to Severus). It'll be interesting to see where this goes with the Malfoys. Looking forward to the next!
Response from beaweasley2 (Author of The Self-Writing Parchment)
Thank you very much.Yes, well, The Quibbler had been publishing real news among its noranl articles. And it might be seen as entertaining - and Luna is Hermione's friend. The girls might assume that Hermione gets the publication from her friend. It would be polite to talk about things you think your guest is into.As for the dress. It was a bad play on the "Looked so different on the hanger" adage. Cillian's shocked expression was real - the dress wasn't see-through on the hanger only when on a body. I suppose I could have made it plainer. sorry.Oh, I have plans. Boy do I have plans for Malfoys. LOLThank you and I hope to have the next done faily soon. Thank you for the review.
I'm glad to see Severus relax ever so slightly with Hermione when he realised she was blocking him for some time on searches for Harry.Nice touch with the swamp / tree and Hermione's "illness!"Looking forward to seeing what happens next!
Response from beaweasley2 (Author of The Self-Writing Parchment)
Thank you,
Response from beaweasley2 (Author of The Self-Writing Parchment)
. How re you, doll? I hope all is well with you and yours. Severus got mad, mostly because she is blocking him and he's just realized it, but it's more that she'd keep secrets from him than anything. So, now he's going to have to get her to talk to him and confide everything he thinks he needs to know. That means actually having conversations and trusting her enough to let her “IN” so to speak – that’s hard for him to do. lol I’m glad that you like the swamp and tree. Did you figure out who is responsible? I know, tricky me. Thank you for reading and for the review. Hugs
Response from Jinxie (Reviewer)
Ayup babe! :* We're good, and you?Yes, understandable on his part. Well, trust goes two ways to exchange confidences. Hopefully this will lead to greater avenues for the pair.He he, yes, I know who's responsible. And, if I might say so, he's setting the Carrows up brilliantly.Keep well! x
Response from beaweasley2 (Author of The Self-Writing Parchment)
I had surgery yesterday, hysterectomy, but I'm doing well. It hurts to move around or lay down, or sit up or get up off the sofa, but I'm doing really well considering. lol So who did you think did the tree and swamp? It wasn't Severus, although HE did take the poison from Amycus' stores. lol
Response from Jinxie (Reviewer)
Gah, I don't know how you can be so (seemingly) blase about it! Hope you heal fast and feel better soon! I would say you've now got time on your hands, but I'd imagine you're also on pain killers, which could lead to some interesting fic writing. ;)Oooh, if it's not him, then I wonder if it's Dobby acting on someone else's orders. However, Hermione did have two canisters of Instant Swamp, but you've given no mention of her possessing a Beech tree... Should prove entertaining regardless. lolI knew about the potion and that was genius on his part. He must've been waiting for the perfect opportunity to use it, but will it be enough to remove the Carrows from Hogwarts?
Response from beaweasley2 (Author of The Self-Writing Parchment)
Okay on the who done it regarding the swamp and the tree - All the Gryffindor, Hufflepuff and Ravenclaw students were accounted for and sealed in their common rooms/dorms. “Not possible,” Severus said coolly. “Mr. Longbottom was escorted to Gryffindor tower by Professor McGonagall after his detention last night before curfew. After the students were all accounted for, the entrance to the Gryffindor common room was sealed closed by Professor McGonagall, and it couldn’t be opened until morning by except by Professor McGonagall or myself, unless there was a dire emergency. Mr. Longbottom’s name is on MacCavish’s list. Hufflepuff and Ravenclaw common rooms were sealed closed as well after a similar check had been made.”Those who were in the hospital were sealed in for the night by Madam Pomfrey.“Not possible. Miss Weasley, Miss Wang, and Miss Waithe spent the night in the hospital after they had been questioned by MacCavish, Rowle, and Travers yesterday for an infraction,” Severus stated, staring down his nose at him. “Madam Pomfrey assured me they would be locked in for the night,” Severus added smoothly.Hermione didn't do it.And it wasn't Severus.Or Cillian. Or obviously Filch. So who were not accounted for or sealed in their rooms?need a hint? "There is not a witch or wizard who didn't go bad who wasn't in Slytherin." wanna bet? Then you weren't paying attention. lol and this one has already done something twice to thwart the Carrows intents.
Response from Jinxie (Reviewer)
D'oh! What a thicko I am! He he, glad to see he's being Slytherin about his turn of heart, well, turning heart... :)
Okay so Peren belongs to HErmione, couldnt she have her pass notes to Harry? I hope Peren remembered to pack the galleon. Funny how Hermione has not attempted so send any messages of late...
Response from beaweasley2 (Author of The Self-Writing Parchment)
Yep, Peren is Hermione's wedding gift. The Galleon - it will come up. Yes, but she's been dealing with a bit, and Hermione isn't carryin git in her pocket. Hmmm. she sould. Thanks!
