Reviews for At the Beach
Circumstances being what they are, this is the best Tessa and Carlos can do for them and their daughter. The prospect of Molly taking Hugo and Rose away from Hermione is too great to do otherwise. And Carlos will be the best father any man could be.Like Carlos and Hermione, I wish they could be together from now on, but that will come in time. In a few more years, Hugo and Rose will be at Hogwarts, and then Hermione can leave or divorce Ron and go to the island to be with Carlos and Luca... and Rose and Hugo will come to the island when they are not in school. And Molly be damned. Ron won't give up his Quidditch career, so he won't try to take the children... so no problems there. It has been a marvelous journey for me to see Hermione and Severus fall in love and become Carlos and Tessa. It's a great story, and I'm really looking forward to the Epilogue. I want to see how you see things happening in the years ahead.Thank you for sharing this with us.Beth

Thank you so much for continuous reading and reviewing! It means a lot to me to see friendly and familiar faces, so to speak. The epilogue is in queue. Not much longer to wait for the final act!
So frustrating! I can't imagine. But at least she's got the love of a good man and her children. Ron is a prize wanker!!
Great job!
Response from chivalric (Author of At the Beach)
*snigger*At least in this story he is!Thanks for reviewing!
Such sweet heartache. I am so very happy that Luca was born on the island and is safe, but I know it must make both lovers that much sadder to be apart. Your writing speaks softly but with great strength. I believe that it will work out for the family, but what will happen before their story concludes makes the wait wonderful. I look forward to your next chapter as always. Thanks for sharing, JoAnne
Response from chivalric (Author of At the Beach)
Hi, JoAnne, and thanks as always for your review. There is only the epilogue left, it is already in queue. I do hope you will like the way I end this story!
Oh the joy I have for them both, and yet. . . .
Response from chivalric (Author of At the Beach)
And yet? You would have liked this not to happen, you fear for the child, you'd rather Hermione went back to Ron?*is curious*Oh, and thanks for reviewing!
OMG, A baby! I'm so scared that even with the glamour someones going to notice, or bump into her belly that she's hiding. I was so afraid that Severus (Carlos) was going to flip out and jump to the conclusions that he did, but at least he gave her the time to explain without jumping down her throat. It was so him, and yet not. Just perfect showing how he's changed but he's still himself in ways. Seriously an amazing tale, and I'm totally looking foreward to your next update. Much Love ~ Brena
Response from chivalric (Author of At the Beach)
Thank you so very much for letting me know that I portrayed Snape still in character despite his obvious changes. That was my biggest fear, that he wouldn't be recogniseable any more. Next (last) chapter is with my beta. Thanks for reviewing!
Ok, so Thursday while I was at work I started reading this fic b/c I was out of stuff to read and I pretty much Love all your work so I figured I'd give it a try. Well, I couldn't stop reading it! OMG, it was awesome I just kept going I was driving and when I got to traffic lights I'd pick my phone back up to read just a little bit more. So this chapter was as far as I got Thursday night and I was so upset that I couldn't stay up any later to find out what happened! This was such an amazing concept and you've given yoursel so much room to work with their characters and situations and I just love it. I know I'm rambling I'm just really excited. So I'm going to go over to Chapter 11 now and post another review. Thanks for this awesome fic! Much Love ~ Brena
Response from chivalric (Author of At the Beach)
Now look, you mustn't read and drive! That's dangerous and I mean it althoug I am flattered that my story is interesting enough to make you skip traffic rules. Thank you so much for liking it, though. I had the idea last summer when I was lying at the beach and well, I must admit I'd have finished it by now. Well. One more chapter and the epilogue ;-)
Bless you, chivalric! You did find a way! Severus will make such a great father, and the island is the perfect place to raise a child, too.Hermione's mum and dad will be thrilled to have another granddaughter, and when the time is right, the little one will be told who her mother is and how much she was loved even before she was born.Who am I kidding? This is Severus and Hermione we're talking about here, and nothing goes that smoothly for Severus. Still, I know you will find a way!!!!!Thank you, dear!Beth
Response from chivalric (Author of At the Beach)
Dear Beth, as there is only one more chapter and the epilogue, there is no more room for problems ;-) I hope you will like the final solution, I really do. Thanks for your review!
Response from braye27 (Reviewer)
This is your story, and however you choose to end it, I will like it. I'll be so sorry when the last is posted... it's become like an old friend.
I think she needs to speak to George about the situation.Maybe he could put her on a sabaticle to many places and have her take her children with her.Maybe between George and Hermione's parents they can help her with Rose and Hugo.Hopefully Molly did not put a tracking charm on Hermione or the kids. That would could get very nebby
Response from chivalric (Author of At the Beach)
Huh, tracking charm? Didn't think of that one, I must admit ;-) Thanks for reviewing. I promise to post the next chapter soon.
for a smart witch, hermione can be a little slow on the uptake. you handled this chapter and all its emotions beautifully, my dear! i'm so happy carlos gets to be a daddy. :)
Response from chivalric (Author of At the Beach)
Well, a live without kids is a life less advanterous than life with kids, to say the least ;-) One more chapter and the epilogue. And I'll update soon, dear!
oh my god. I can't believe she won't be raising her daughter.... seriously, she just has to be up front, divorce Ron and MARYY CARLOS! sheesh!!!
Response from chivalric (Author of At the Beach)
You know, I didn't even think about a marriage yet ;-) I am unmarried myself (with kid), and I love it...Thanks for reviewing. I'll update soon - not much more to tell.
Terrific update! And look what happens when two clever people put their mind to a big problem. (Although I wonder if their solution will proceed as smoothly as they hope.)
Response from chivalric (Author of At the Beach)
Thank you so much, dear! They are clever, both of them, and their daughter will inherit both looks and brains ;-)
I love this fic!! Just a complete awww moment!!ohhh I cannot wait for the next chapter!! I will wait anxiously and without patience!! Keep it up!! -Lio-
Response from chivalric (Author of At the Beach)
Hi, there! The next (and last) chapter is with my beta, after that only the epilogue has to be told. Hope you'll like it!
Well, that solves everything, doesn't it? Will it really be that easy, or will Molly or Ron find out?I'm glad abortion was only a passing thought for her. After having two kids already, I'm not sure how she could have even let the thought enter her mind, but I do understand she was distraught.Seeing Severus' happiness and his desire to raise the baby was quite sweet.
Response from chivalric (Author of At the Beach)
Well, this is a story without much action and without angst at all. A summer story, with sweet moments and all. No Ron will interfere, nor Molly. Thanks for reviewing!
For two such intelligent people, they do complicate matters, don't they? Each with their fears and doubts and longings and uncertainties . . . and they still need to learn to trust each other and to think just for themselves, rather than to assume they know what the other is thinking. If she can indeed conceal her pregnancy from the rest of the world, what a perfect solution otherwise! Give him the child he never thought he would have, let him raise her and keep her safe, let Tessa visit as often as she can, and one day they will be able to be together as a family.Another exquisite chapter!
Response from chivalric (Author of At the Beach)
Well, wherever emotions are involved, people tend to switch off their brains ;-) Solution is found, and I promise to post the next chapter soon. And then only the epilogue to be read - hope you'll like it. Thanks for reviewing!
Ah the joy of magic and glamours. How sweet! Severus will have a daughter! I am also gald to hear that Hermione was using contraception. Our fanfiction heroes need to set a good example!thanks for this update! I am sure it cannot all go that smoothly, but they will work it out together.
Response from chivalric (Author of At the Beach)
Hi, dear!Of course she used contraception - she's an adult woman, she's bright, and she's a responsible person. Not using contraception would be massively OOC for her, and I didn't want her to be more OOC than she already is. Hugs and thenka for reviewing!
You are very welcome for the banner. I'm so glad that you like it!
Response from chivalric (Author of At the Beach)
I love it, and will make it bigger - now that I have seen it on a proper screen, it comes up too small. Sigh. Well, Photoshop will fix that. Thanks again for making it! *hugs you*
You did this so well! the ups and downs, the regret turned worry turned happy turned fear that women with an unexpected pregnancy go through! I really loved how you handled Sevrus/Carlos' reactions! Well done indeed!
Response from chivalric (Author of At the Beach)
Thanks, dear. I never had an unwanted pregnancy, but a friend did and I suffered with her, in a way. And Carlos, of course, has changed - and he wants that child!I'll update soon. Thanks for reviewing!
Severus as a single dad! Now this I have to see. I can't help but hope that Ron will fall off the face of the earth, thereby rendering that plan unnecessary...
Response from chivalric (Author of At the Beach)
What, don't you think he'll be a good dad? Ron might fall off his broom, though ;-)Thanks for reviewing!
Response from Kailin (Reviewer)
I think this new Severus would be a FABULOUS dad, but I can't imagine poor Hermione having to leave him and the new baby and go back to - blech - Ron. And if he doesn't fall off his broom, I can only hope that Ronniekins will get a massive splinter.
Oh! Oh, oh oh..... I'm freaking crying! Severus, a daddy! A 21st century single-father daddy! How impossibly wonderful :) I'm miffed at Hermione for even thinking abortion or foster parents or not just going to Severus to begin with, she should have known better *sounding stern*But still, her pain and uncertainty were real, too.All in all, a wonderful chapter!!! Hurray!!!
Response from chivalric (Author of At the Beach)
Wherever emotions are involved, people stop thinking, at least permanently. She was scared, she didn't expact to become pregnant, she worried she'd lose him - of course she considered abortion. Not for long though.Next chapter will go into queue soon. Thanks for reviewing!
Good idea, the glamour and Carlos raising the little girl. Boy, it's gonna be hard for Tessa to leave them. Once again, this is really one of the best stories I've ever read, well done. So what is up with Ron lately? Can't wait to see what happens next.
Response from chivalric (Author of At the Beach)
Ron's shagging around, not having a clue what happens behind his back ;-) Leaving her newborn child will be hard for her, I agree. I couldn't imagine doing it, but then, I'm a single mum whereas Tessa loves Carlos deeply and knows her baby will be fine. I'll update soon (towards weekend) - Thank you so very much for reviewing!
OMG! She's pregnant--that will definately throw a hitch in her plans. I am glad that she and Carlos have fallen in love and that she is actually happy.
Response from chivalric (Author of At the Beach)
Well, at the moment she's confused, trying to figure out why she's pregnant ;-)Thanks for reviewing!
OMG what is she going to do? She has to keep the baby.
Response from chivalric (Author of At the Beach)
That, dear, is precisely the problem. How to tell Carlos? How to get out of the mess? An abortion would be the logical way to take. Thanks for reviewing!
Love this story. The chapter title felt a bit ominous, so I do wonder what will happen next; I can't imagine things will run smoothly, no matter what plans occur. I hope Hermione and Severus can last through the storm and despite any seemingly insurmountable obstacle that they're love will only be reinforced in the end (unless this is a tragic tale /cry). I look forward to the next part.
Response from chivalric (Author of At the Beach)
This is not a tragic tale ;-)There plans just crumbled like a sand-castle - she didn't plan to get pregnant and currently doesn't even know how it could happen.More soon. And thanks for reviewing!
I'm assuming it's Snape's baby. How old are Hugo and Rose now? Update soon -- this story is just wonderful and gets better and better. Your writing it so well developed and such a good read.
Response from chivalric (Author of At the Beach)
They are about six and eight years old, and at the moment, Hermione doesn't even know how she got pregnant ;-)I will update soon. Thanks for reviewing!
Hermione Pregnant? Best laid plans of mice and men.....I hope she and Carlos can find a way to keep everything together in spite of the howling that is going to ensue when Molly finds out from Ron that there hasn't been any marital bliss in their home for quite a long time.I love Carlos and Tessa. And they just have to find a way to be together with Rose and Hugo! They just have to!Great chapter, dear.Beth
Response from chivalric (Author of At the Beach)
Hi, Beth, and thanks for still reading the stories I produce! And then - do you really think Ron would confess sth like that to his mom?I'll update soon, promise.
Response from braye27 (Reviewer)
Do you really think Ron would confess sth like that to his mom?So you have found a way... sort of...! I can't wait to see how this all works out!!!
