I'd seriously like to believe what Hermione said here. That he wouldn't have go through with it if he wasn't forced. At least I hope she's right. This turned out better than I thought it would. At least theres a tiny bit of hope for their future. At least he knows the truth now. Thanks for the update. And keep those chapters coming! ~Brena

It's a start, but he will need to be very careful.

Obviously, this went better than he would have expected in his wildest dreams. I am amazed about Hermione, though. I don't think that there are many women who would be able to react like this in a similar situation.
Response from Red Writing Hood (Author of A Secret Worth Keeping)
There aren't many women like our Hermione. Of course, she's had nine months to puzzle it all out, Severus just discovered it. Lets just hope that everything goes well from now on.Eh?Red
Response from Muggline (Reviewer)
Sorry to disappoint you, but I already know how everything goes from now on since I read the whole thing months ago on Ashwinder. I am doing this second round just to appreciate the wonderful changes you have added.

Phew ... for some terrifying moments I was afraid that all of this would go right down the drain. But now there is hope for the two still. :-)Thanks for sharing. /M

I've been thinking... Will we ever find out whether he was under the Imperius or not? I can't remember.Lovely chapter!gab

What a relief. I wasn't sure what Hermione's thoughts would be. I think our couple will work it out and then pay back to Lucius. I hope its' good :-)
Response from Red Writing Hood (Author of A Secret Worth Keeping)
Ohhhh, payback is a bitch and Hermione and Severus does get theirs. Its worth the wait.

OMG! I really want him to have been under the curse! I understand why you've put in the possiblity, b/c it's so interesting...but I hope it isn't so! This will be one hell of a hole to dig out of, but when they do, it'll make their relationship even stronger. Cheers!
Response from Red Writing Hood (Author of A Secret Worth Keeping)
relationships are difficult as it is, and I agree...these two have tons of difficulties to get through.

This is a really good story. I am not usually drawn to stories of rape and angst but this is so well done. She is far more forgiving than others may have been but then she is also Hermione who analizes everything before she makes a decision. Snape is a bit out of context for canon but this is your story and he works for me. I look forward to more.
Response from Red Writing Hood (Author of A Secret Worth Keeping)
I kow Snape is a bit OOC, but what man, in his right mind, could turn a woman out who had no one but his own child? Not any decent man...and in my book Severus is a honerable person. He would take on the responsibility of them both...which he has, just like any hero out there.Red

I imagine this was difficult to write. I thought you did a good job with a tremendously hard subject. Now, how do they move past this?
Response from Red Writing Hood (Author of A Secret Worth Keeping)
Well, they do work through this eventually. It is...after all...a love story. Please keep reading.Red

Oh yeah, total butt kicking. I wanted to cry at the end of this chapter. Simply because he actually told her he loved her... And just the idea of Lucius taking the damn crucio off him before he did it... thats awful. I hope they can work through this. ~Brena

He really did rape her? Or was that Lucius playing with his mind? Anyway, yes, it was really disturbing, but he obviously wasn't happy about doing that to her. I could see why she Obliviated him.
Response from Red Writing Hood (Author of A Secret Worth Keeping)
Mind games are a huge part of who Lucius is, I think. Please keep reading and see what happens.Red

Very well done. I'm frightened, and sickened, but rape should be that way. I also like the spin of him wanting her on his own, and not realizing he was no longer under the curse. Very interesting.
Response from Red Writing Hood (Author of A Secret Worth Keeping)
Thank you, writing that scene was difficult, but I'm glad that I did it well enough. Red

Congratulations on a great chapter. Reape chapters can get out off hands, but you handled it great.I always knew Lucius wasn't really healthy in his head, but this? Wow!And the line that hurt most was: You raped your love. All on your own.
Response from Red Writing Hood (Author of A Secret Worth Keeping)
Well, I hated to write that chapter, but I had to get it out there. Lucius is a bad egg...a very, very bad egg.Red

Tough stuff – but necessary for the rest of the story... I still don't understand where his love came from, though.
Response from Red Writing Hood (Author of A Secret Worth Keeping)
Well, I never really addressed where his love for Hermione came from. I pretty much left that out. I prefer to let others use their imagination on that...was it her beauty? Her brains? Her cunning? Or was it everything or nothing...you decide on that.Red

Lucius was a prick. A sick one. He should be dragged out into the street and shot to death. I can't believe he did that to severus and i don't understand how people can be so cruel. anyways, I can't wait to read the next chapter.
Response from Red Writing Hood (Author of A Secret Worth Keeping)
Unfortunately, there are all types out there, even his type. At least, I think there is. I have yet to meet one myself...thank the Goddess. Thank you for reviewing.Red
Response from snapefan2007 (Reviewer)
unfortunately i have met a man of his type, if you can call him that. He's a sickminded creature who happens to be my son's biological father but I have nothing to do with him. only he wasn't under the imperious curse and never showed any remorse.
Response from Red Writing Hood (Author of A Secret Worth Keeping)
I'm soooo sorry for that. I hope he is paying for his crimes.Red
Response from snapefan2007 (Reviewer)
unfortunately he's not because by the time i went forward it was too late for evidence, but i consider it payment that he doesn't get to know his child and that i can sleep at night without nightmares anymore. it has been five years. one more year and I can be totally rid of him by having his rights to my son severed permenantly.

Did Lucius really remove the Imperio, or is he just tormenting Severus further?
