Variety Challenge first runner up. Hermione Granger is given a Time-Turner and instructions to use it. Only, using a Time-Turner can be a little tricky if not used correctly: a mistake made in counting or a slip of fingers can make the user jump irregularly and thus she could accidentally alter her time line. And when such an accident happens, Severus Snape uses Hermione’s Time-Turner in order to fix a horrific wrong. However, it’s his younger self that becomes the one who must ensure that history is not altered.

I love to write. A dreamer, a creator and filled with wonder, imagination and life. Sometimes I get lost in the other worlds I've read and in some I create. It's all good, I’m in good company.

LOL Now Lavender is Blooming the boys won't stand a chance! :)

Yep, she's Blooming - and considering that Lavender is one of those adverage students who spends her time on her looks - yep, the boys don't stand a chance. lol Thank you for reading and for the reivew.

*snerf* This chapter touched me on a personal level. I received, as did all my sisters, a charm bracelet upon my Confirmation. My parents gave it to me with a charm they had bought right after I was born. They added charms to it for various events in my life. Rather sad that the bracelets aren't the 'thing' anymore. I was always fond of looking at them and remembering why I had that certain charm. I also have a unicorn charm that I wore on a necklace. It was my favorite and had cuts in the gold to catch the light. *sigh* You took me on a walk down memory lane as well as a good story. You're the best! Here, have a cookie.

Oh wow that's so cool. My mom and I collected charms from all the places our family vacationed, so I'd remember the places. It s a nice tradition, abd you're right, it's sad that it's not done so much anymore. I still have both of mine! You had a unicorn charm! Wow, i suppose this was quite personal to you. I'm touched you shared this with me, and I'm quite happy that it brought you fond memories. Thank you for reading and for the review.

Uh oh, as if Lavendar wasn't bad enough without the Bloom. That fits nicely with the canon timeline. Well done. It amazes me how much attention to detail your stories have. I like the little touches that may not have anything to do with the main storyline but are what make it a real tale--sort of like the difference between a Diet Coke and the full-octane version. Can't wait for the next chapter!

Well, after all Hermione had her Bloom - so the other girs will as well. and It fittted in my mind that the Quidditch game fit so perfectly in with her birthday, and wa-la!I'm delighted that you like the little bits, and I am weaving this in and around Harry's story(the books) so that it's like it is all happening behind the books scenes. More coming. Thank you so much for reading and for the review.

Okay, you've done it again. Another wonderful chapter. In fact, I'd compare this chapter to the time-turner chapters when Hermione was with teenaged Severus. Wonderful interaction. Very much enjoyed the return of the 'friendship' sort of interaction. Gave me the warm-fuzzies.I also really liked the peek into Severus' thoughts in the tower regarding Lily. And how his thinking segued to Hermione. He's still trying to convince himself that there's nothing between him and Hermione besides a teacher/student relationship, isn't he. At what point will he begin to realize it's really more than that already? Or can/will you tell us? And when is Hermione going to realize she could be more than just Severus' project? Yes, I know, she's still young and innocent in the ways of the heart, but she's a fast learner. I have confidence she'll be able to figure it out. She's already noticing her reaction to Severus touching her hand (that was a warm fuzzy moment, btw). The whole chapter left me feeling good, know what I mean?Oh, and learning the reason for Severus' interest in the Dark Arts - counter curses. As they would say in England, 'Brilliant!' This is a great explanation for his Dark Arts facination. And an explanation that Hermione would totally understand.Wonderful, wonderful. Keep up the great work. Again, really loved the H/S time in this chapter. Also noticed that the next chapter is in queue - *squee!*Bless your little computer key-typing fingers. Tiny Tim is asking for more!

, I'm delighted that you enjoyed the chapter and I like the warm-fuzzies. Yes, there is some of the young teen in the older version and yes, it's starting to peek out more. I'm glad that you liked the reminisce about lily and how it evolved toward thinking about Hermione. I had hoped it was a bit of 'laying away' som of the 'old ghosts' but not every one got that, I'm afraid. I have no idea when they will begin to reaalize what you do, and no, it's cause I have things planned that I'm not revealing yet. sorry. There won't be too much SS/HG-ing in this year... cuz something big is going to happen that will make it SS/HG. Give me some time, I know you'll like it (I just hope it's not confusing. lol) Sorry for the innocent of the heart/teacher won't cross that line thing, but yes, the hand touching was deliberate. I'm glad you pikced up on it.I always thought the whole Dark Arts thing was for a few reasons:1)he was small, skinny and uncared for looking - he didn't want to be picked on and it was a defensive thing2) Severus had a dark side - some boys get facinated by violence and death for some reason3) the defence thing, being able to thwart the violence and break the unbreakable, being able to counteract spells and potions so he could beat/best the minds that created them...I went with #3That Hermione would be able to understand and appreciate that about him was only a bonus. I think Severus wants to be more clever than the other boys, smarter and more capable. Tell Tiny Tim, I'm working on it. lol Thankyou for reading and for the review.

NOW, you've really got me wondering. Are you going to take us through the whole rest of the school year (or beyond) before getting to the 'something big' part? Anticipation! I'm glad you picked #3 reason - that fits in better with the Severus I always wanted him to be.Thanks again.

I like that you've shown why Hermione feels so negatively about the Prince's book; as a prefect she would, of course, have seen how these harmless prank spells could be used maliciously (never mind her experiences with them in the past).

There are so many things in this chapter that made me smile:
I was tickled to find out that Severus' choice for Hermione's own password for the Prefect's bath was "Snow Angels." What a nice way to let her know that he still remembered their "adventures" together when he was a student.
“You win, you’re better than me.” I loved that Severus had to drag this admission out of Hermione.Hermione's opinion about the Half-Blood Prince cracked me up. "No, Hermione didn’t much care for this Half-Blood Prince. He was mean, cruel and dodgy if anyone bothered to listen to her. Which, when it came to that book, neither Harry nor Ron did." I wonder how she will react when she finds out that Harry has been using Severus' old Potions book?
“What are you working on?” he asked as he approached her, stopping to peer over her shoulder at her book. This part warmed my heart. I think both of them thoroughly enjoyed that "return to old times." I know I did!
Your description of Caractacus Burke was chilling, and I was a little disturbed as I realized how some of the basic traits also made me think of Severus. Not the part about liking to hurt and manipulate people or "collecting objects," but the part about his being a loner did remind me of Severus. I can't make the connection between this Caractacus Burke and the name of a barkeeper. Still, this characterization was very well done.
“Miss Granger,” Professor Snape said, closing his drawer with unnecessary force. I always love how Hermione's (and Severus') minds are like steel traps. Her memorry of seeing this ring in Snape's office is the quintessential Hermione Granger.
Thank you for another fabulous chapter, bea. I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving.Beth

I"m glad you liked Severus' choice of password, and yes, it was a reminder. Yep, he got her to admit it. Oh, when she finally does figure it out, I hope you like how I handle it. Oh, no, no, no - I was summerizing the memories rather than typing them out! Harry told Hermione what Burke said in the memory Dumbledore showed him of Tom working with Burke... remember, then Harry told her what he'd seen in Dumbledore's memory - all about Tom Riddle! and how Tom hated having the same name as the barkeeper in the Leaky! Sorry that was confusing. Tom was a bit of a loner and didn't have friends - he had followers. I didn't want to rehash it all out. Took a short cutt and blew it. I'm impressed that you caught on to the minds like steel traps thing - very good.I"m utterly delighte that you liked my chapter and I hope you enjoy what comes next. Thank you for a fun review and your insightfullness. Hugs, doll.

Hi Bea. Thank you for another wonderful chapter. Enjoyed reading this one very much. I like watching Hermione mature and Severus struggling with his emotional tie to Hermione. His conversations with himself are almost funny - he's trying very hard to convince himself that he can avoid Hermione's Allure since he's not apparently had a problem with any of the other girls at Hogwarts over the years. Of course, he knows Hermione is not just another girl at Hogwarts! Wonder when he'll admit that to himself. Yes, I know, student/teacher and all that (not that I'm advocating that) but he's a Slytherin after all. How much more torture are you going to put him through?I'm looking forward to what you have in store for this sixth year. Draco and his task, the boys all stumbling all over Hermione, Dumbledore's cursed arm, Harry's obsession with Draco - you have a lot to work with. But as interesting as all of that is, let's get back to our favorite couple :-)Thank you again for the chapter. Eagerly awaiting the next...and the next...and the next....Have a wonderful Thanksgiving

You are most welcome, I'm glad that you enjoyed it. Yes, I wnated hermione to mature, both physically and mentally, otherwize pairing her with Severus won't work, not in the long run. And Yes, I'm putting our guy through angst, but he's not willing or ready to cross the student/teacher line. How much more of it... a bit. but don't fret, they will come together eventually. Yes, HBP year is frought with more angst, Draco's task, Harry's obsession with Draco (although I don't focus on that, we all know he is), Hermione/Ron fiasco and Ron/Lavender, Hrmione's guest to discover who the HBP is, wandless magic, as well as Severus' Slytherin group - he's still keeping them going ... you'll see. There is a lot going on, and oh yes, Dumbledore's cursed hand. But there will be Severus/Hermione interaction moments, I promise. More coming... it's in the comma laundry and should be aaired dried, then I'll post it. Thank you for readign and for the review.

You know, one of the best things about these fanfics is being able to 'discuss' the story with the author. I really like to read what other readers have to say about your story and your response. It makes me feel like more than 'just a reader.' I haven't been as faithful lately to review your chapters as I read them, but please know they are read and thought about and pondered over, etc.Keep up the good work. As for the comma laundry, well, what are commas for if not to use them?!?
Response from beaweasley2 (Author of Consequences of Meddling with Time)
That's what I used to think! I mean, I know where to put comas, we learn that in school, right? Oh gosh NO! Each chapter goes through four washes: my alpha/continuity reader, then my Britpicker/first set of eyes, then my beta (Plight nad Parchment have two!) then submitted through the queue and the Admins go over it, and they still find loads!(Not downing on the admins -they are awsome!) It's a process. and sometimes my beta gets busy, and... so I'm a few chapters ahead of everyone, and each time I get a chatper 'back' from one of my help, I go over it and send it to the next...or I frequently have people who review saying they don't comment often, but heck you just did and each review makes my day! even the little "wonderful update, thankyou," "That was fun" ones make me smile. And I do answer every review. (it may take me a day or two..) I also get emails... But I agree the contact does make it seem richer in a way for both of us. I also love questions. lol But this isn't a plea for more, it's just saying. I appreciate all of them, even the readers who silently follow along. (Hit counts! lol)I appreciate that you took the time to type with me. Have a wonderful week and Happy reading!

Ooh, I like this conversation. I was just reading over the chapter again and I realized something about Hermione. If she was interested in any particular boy, the Bloom would not be nearly so irritating. Rather it would be quite fun. However, since she's not interested in a 'boy,' it is all rather bothersome. She really doesn't see herself as attractive, does she. That could be good and bad. In the prefect bath, she seems to have no idea how any male would struggle to maintan his composure when seeing her in her present state. Again, poor Severus. Do we get to be in on the conversation when Severus escorts Hermione back to her dorm? And how much more H/S time will we be gifted with in the next few chapters? How is Severus going to be able to control his feelings since they are genuine, exacerbated by the Bloom? Gettin' better n better!

Okay, I read chapter 36 last night while on my phone, and there is no way I was going to the trouble of typing on that thing. I don't have crazy thumb action like the teenagers do. So, rest assured, I loved it just like all the others before. But, now that I've moved on, I have no idea what happened in the chapter as I am consumed by this one, LOL.It actually makes me cringe a bit at the way all of the boys are ogling Hermione. I know it is normal for them to be attracted, and even more so with this coming of age thing you've introduced into the Wizarding world (which I find fascinating, by the way) but they are so into her it is almost comical. And you've described it so well, I can truly picture the classroom scene where no one is paying attention. I love the vast differences in the way Professors Snape and McGonagall teach their students about the changes they can expect this year. They've both done things exactly as I think they would. Poor Severus is drawn to her just like her classmates but is much more couth in his interactions. And he is being so respectable towards her, which I think is wonderful. Until she is a little older, then he can go crazy with it, and I will be cheering him on. Right? RIGHT? Okay, I'll be patient; there's a first for everything.

Yep, having all the boys (and Sev) attracted to her is a bit, er, cringe worthy, but it will pass. I'm delighted that you found it comical. I'm really pleased that you like the ways I described how each head of house handles the coming of age responsibility. and I'm so glad that you think it fits them and their personalities. Although - okay, right. lol yes. He is so much more couth about his draw to her because of the bloom, the thing is, will it ensnare him? or not? How I play this out, I'm going to let you find out with everyone else, sorry. Don't want to spoil the fun. Thank you for reading and for the review.

I loved Severus's approach to the Coming-of-Age chats. Very in-character. (Minerva's chats were also very in-character.) Severus's points deductions in class were fun. Nice chapter!

I have run out of new chapters to read and this makes me sad. But I am certain you are hard at work on the next one, and the next one and the next (pppppplease?).Very curious to see the outcome of the Blooming.A few questions. Will there be more about the integration of the brain personalities or is that a dropped storyline? Also, I notice that the warning says character death and you mention a lot about staying canon. Um, you aren't going to kill Severus are you??? I love this story and would be quite heartbroken.
Response from beaweasley2 (Author of Consequences of Meddling with Time)
Yes, there is more coming. I'm working on chapter 41 and starting 42 presently. all the way through HBP and Dh and so... but yes, sticking with canon. and I will type some bits of the war from Hermione's and possibly Severus' POV. so yes, DD dies, he is dying actually, and there will be others. Did Severus die in the books? - I don't remember that. I know he got bit and slunk away, but no body was found and he moved away in canon, didn't he? I'm pretty sure he had...? (read At The Beach by chivalric, it's adorable)more on the Bloom coming, I assure you. Oh and Lavender ... you'll see. Explains a bit, and adds drama, don't you think?Yes, you'll see more about the brains personalities coming out.Yes, you'll see the effect when Hermione does. Does that help any?
I hope you enjoy the rest of the story. Thank you for reading and for the review

Oh and Lavender ... you'll see. I'm curious to see what's up with this Bloom--and how Severus handles Hermione's when she's in 'full-bloom'.
Response from beaweasley2 (Author of Consequences of Meddling with Time)
It will be amusing, if not a bit problamatic for him. I hope you how I deal with it. Thank you for reading and for the review

Glad to see a reappearance of Snape's Slytherins but sad to see all is not going well (but hey, where's the story if there aren't challenges).Going strong and still enjoying tremendously.

Yes, well, they have a tough time ahead of them. You'll see more of them, I assure you. I hope you enjoy the rest of the story. Thank you for reading and for the review

Especially one like this one. Oh, and a bit more - she's not super-witch. There is something else going on, but you'll find out what when she does. remember the bursts, okay? I hope you enjoy the rest of the story. Thank you for reading and for the review

ONe hundred points to your House for excellence in describing the technical aspects of Snape's DADA class and instruction. And thanks for the tip for tearless onion-cutting!

Awesome update, can't wait for the next one! I like the "Surge" idea, definitely gives more to the story. Just wish there was more Hermione/Severus action!!!
Response from beaweasley2 (Author of Consequences of Meddling with Time)
There will be more Severus/Hermione interaction. lol I'm glad you like that Surge idea; it was my answer to Lucius' taunt, "Did you really think that childern stood a chance against us..." that made sense. Especially when those same kids stood against the Death Eaters in the end and won. Thank you for reading and for the review.
Response from LioSaoirse (Reviewer)
Yay! Been reading this since it was in single digit chapters, and usually one my phone so I couldn't review because my phone sux! But this fic is really good and has a lot of depth! I loved the teen Severus and Hermione and how she's still trying to emulate him in a way, but also find him in the The Professor!!! Can't wait!

The Surge is a clever concept, and makes a lot of sense. So is your theory that most witches' and wizards' magical power lessen in old age?
Response from beaweasley2 (Author of Consequences of Meddling with Time)
magical power could lessen as they get old, or at least by the age of 150? Who knows? I'm not taking this story so far as to show Hermione at that age. I'm glad that you like the concept of the Surge - Lucius Malfoy gave me the idea when he sneered "do you honestly think that children stood a chance against us?" So I thought, okay, why? You're magic comes of age - and ta-da! Thank you for reading and for the review.

Oooh, this is a fun chapter. It hadn't occurred to me that without changing the entire story, you'd have to address the fact that both Harry and Hermione know the potions secrets of the Half Bood Prince. I look forward to the point what that hits the fan.And yay for three times a week lessons with Professor Snape. It will give them more time together which there can never be too much of. I hope that as we go into the end of sixth year (I know, getting ahead of myself) that maybe somehow she will know about him, and/or be able to support him. I always feel bad that he is so alone once he puts Dumbledore's plan in motion. She thinks that he is disappointed in her for not being able to control her magic, but I suspect it is more worry for her wellbeing as well as her fellow castlemates. I do hope he can help her understand how to control her magic. Love, love, loved this chapter.

Yes, well, of course it was a small consideration easily solved - Hermione's hasn't seen Harry's(Snape's) Potions book. problem solved... on with the show. Yep, lessons with our snarky professor and loads of fun to come. I thinkyou are right about her Surges, well thought you! Thankyou for reading and for the review.

So, Hermione has a 'reaction' both times Severus touches her hands. Wonder how long it will take her to realize why she is reacting this way. And you have Hermione getting Felix Felicis as well as Harry. Interesting. What circumstance(s) will she consider using it? Any time soon? And swimming: exercise, stress relief, preparation for an upcoming unforeseen event? I'm trying to figure out what you may have coming up in the next chapter or so. Enjoyed this chapter. Also like the 3 times a week sessions Hermione is having with Severus. Thanks for the update, Bea. Looking forward to more soon (I hope).

Noticed that little 'reaction' did you? lol Time and events will tell - and the FF potion - yep, she has on too. Yes, it will come up. But that's not to say that she can't brew her own someday either. She brewed Polujuice Potion in 2nd year.Enjoy guessing on what I have planned next. Will update as soon as the chapters of P-TB and S-WP clear queue, I'll submit another CoMWT! Thank you for reading and for the review.
