Variety Challenge first runner up. Hermione Granger is given a Time-Turner and instructions to use it. Only, using a Time-Turner can be a little tricky if not used correctly: a mistake made in counting or a slip of fingers can make the user jump irregularly and thus she could accidentally alter her time line. And when such an accident happens, Severus Snape uses Hermione’s Time-Turner in order to fix a horrific wrong. However, it’s his younger self that becomes the one who must ensure that history is not altered.

I love to write. A dreamer, a creator and filled with wonder, imagination and life. Sometimes I get lost in the other worlds I've read and in some I create. It's all good, I’m in good company.

“Our imagination flies -- we are its shadow on the earth.”― Vladimir Nabokov

So does the professor Snape in Hermione's time line remember this visit? Does he remember all three times she stayed with him or does he only read that it happened? If he remembers all three, It would be hard not to treat her like a favorite little sister or cousin until she got to be an adult. After 7th year he would be free to think of her as a woman. I am also trusting you that Severus survives the final battle so that he and Hermione can become lovers and get married. I've heard of lots of situations where an older guy waits years for a girl to get old enough to approach. My husband and I met when I was 13 and he was 21. He said he figured he let the other guys at church date me until I got old enough to become serious. He moved away when I was 16.For 3 weeks I dated one of his friends that was 26 when I was 15. I broke it off because he was looking for a wife and I wasn't looking for a husband and he creeped me out moving too fast. In 1976 My next serious boyfriend was 18, a graphic artist for an insurance company when I was 15. His mom really thought we were going to get married. His family loved me, but he ditched me for another girl. That was the first and the last time I gave 100% of my heart again.By 1977 I dated a guy who was 17 and I was 16. He was too lazy and didn't have enough ambition for me to picture ever being married to him. I was starting my junior year and needed to start thinking about which colleges I was going to apply to.But in that Jr year, on Good Friday, my old Sunday school teacher from when I was 14 asked me to marry him. We had never been on a date.(I had been in his college and careers Sunday School class because the high schoolers were still passing notes in church and giggling in the back row. Somehow I had skipped that part of my teens. I'd gone straight for drugs and alcohol in 7th grade. Now the 9th grade kids in my age group were there because their parents wanted them to come. ...Ironically, I was there seeking for God against my parent's concerns. My parents were more worried about me possibly becoming a religious fanatic than the fact that I had been a burnout & a speed freak since Jr High, and dabbled in witchcraft, the demonic kind, since I was 8 years old. I needed God. I didn't go to church to be popular, and I wasn't with my age group.)Anyway when I was 17, on Good Friday, in the spring of my junior year 1978, at a youth event between our 2 churches, my old Sunday school teacher and I took a drive in his friend's Z 28 Camero. He says he had intended to ask me, if I would ever consider going out with him if he came down to see me, but what came out of his mouth was a marriage proposal. Then, He's thinking,"Stupid, Stupid, Stupid, she'll never go out with me now!" But, it was really rather sweet, he said "Of all the women I've known, and of all the things I want to do with my life, you're the one I want to do them with. ...Wow, I guess that's a proposal. Will you marry me?"Here I am 17, I'm not at all looking for a husband, but at 15 I had prayed like girls do, and made a pact with God that I would go into the ministry if he would give me someone like that Sunday School Teascher for a husband some day, never expecting to get the real deal. And I expected to get married in my mid to late 20's after Univeristy. My mom had already asked me earlier at Christmas that year what I would do if he asked me to marry him and I thought she was loony and laughed at her. He lived 340 miles away. I had only seen him twice in 2 years and he'd phoned me now and again. AND HE IS A GROWN UP MOM! WHY WOULD HE ASK ME TO MARRY HIM, FOR CRYING OUT LOUD!What's a silly young girl going to do? I was mature for my age but not yet wise. Well the end of it is, I said yes. I wanted to wait until I was finished with college but he said he couldn't wait that long. That was 1978, we got married 15 months later in 1979, and haven't had any fun ever since. He may be a gentle, kind and Godly man, but he is the most passive aggressive, humbug, stick in the mud I've ever known. But he loves me to death. Through sickness and in health, through slender to fat and fatter, poor and poorer and bossy as hell. If I'm bossy it's less work for him to worry about. It only sounds good on paper girls. Being in charge is a real pain in the ass. O, but it gives dear little hubby plenty of opportunity to get sympathy for having a bitchy wive. He thrives on martyrdom. I think about leaving, but he'd be so pitiful and I actually do need his and my money. We couldn't live on just one of our incomes. But if I could, I would dance and travel, go back to the theater and singing and live life! Maybe I could find a gay friend to dance and travel with since I'm married. He said he'd prayed for a pastor's wife that could stick up for herself. I guess he wasn't planning on sticking up for me. Well, we aren't in the ministry anymore, which might mean he got some other Pastor's wife. But remember my concerned parents? ...They became Friends Pastors after I got married and still are 32 years later! How's that for a LOL kick in the butt! All this is to say is that I don't see any reason why Severus wouldn't wait for Hermione to grow up and they get married. Hopefully Hermione will know what she's getting into. I sure didn't."Just sit right back and you'll hear a tail, a tail of a fateful trip, that started from this tiny church with one strong minded chick. The Mate was a mighty prayin' man, that acted brave and sure, he cast his net at the little chick for a 3 hour tour, a 3 hour tour. Awkward silences were getting rough and the brave Man's words were tossed. If not for the courage of the fearless chick their meaning would be lost. Their meaning would be lost. The chick set ground on the shore of this uncharted desert isle, With Preacherman, hisweirdfamily too, no millionaires or their wives, the-couldbe-star, with no more acting and lost scholarships, here on lazy man's isle! So this is the tale of the castaways their here for a long long time, they'll have to make the best of things it's an uphill climb.I hope Hermione and Severus' story turns out perkier!Huggs!

Wow this is the longest review I’ve ever received. So, matching paragraph by paragraph….
Yes, we are now in the third timeline for Professor Snape. When he was a teen, he met the Snape from timeline2 who gave him the diary. In the diary that Snape (timeline2) had written down what the older Snape had told him (when he was 16) had happened in his timeline – the first one, where she died and what happened after. So, in fact the diary has all three timelines written in it.
He remembers all two and read about the others.
Yes, it would, but keep in mind, for her their friendship, the days together happened only seconds ago, in her year. For him, she was a friend and companion for a month and 3 weeks in his 6th year, and that was 17-18 years ago – a long time. Plus she’s Muggle-born and a Gryffindor. So, he can’t show favoritism, can he?
Yes, in her 7th year he could, but then she’d still be her professor – no student/teacher rule breaking. Unless…..
What a sad love story you have. I admit, I have squick reaction to older men thinking of young girls as ‘sexual partners’, but this one sounds like it all worked out and your husband was really patient, willing to wait and see if when you grew up it could happen. Of course your only 8 years apart. I’ve known others in your situation, but I have to ask, why not dance? Go in a group to a club on Friday (or fist night of your weekend.) Tell hubby – we’re going dancing, gussy up and go. Why not go back to the theatre, my flat mate and some friends I know do community theatre and they love it. I’ve seen my flat mate in productions. It looks like loads of fun. And what’s to stop you from singing? Join the choir, sing in the shower, car, heck sing in a musical in the community theatre. (I should have you talk to Frank – he is in many local-to-his-area plays as is his daughter.) and travel – I’ve only been to Mexico (big deal, it’s 3 hours away) for the day, Germany once and London once. Now I’ve done loads of camping in the US mostly in Ca. where I live, and mostly as a kid/teen/young adult, but day trips are fun. I suppose it depends on which state you’re in.
Some men, and I still am single by-the-way, like bossy women. They do. Tell him “we’re going to Carmel this summer (an example) and then go. Go with another couple. Go! Buy a trailer, or see if you can borrow one from a friend. But then my life: I wanted hubby, cat, dog, house and a kid. I prayed for it and only found heartache. I’ve been engaged 3 times, 1st one dumped me, second one same (and told me the next one was moving in that night – she wears the ring I designed) and the 3rd I buried. (He had to go to Desert Shield right after he proposed. Desert Shield became Desert Storm and he came home in a box) I tried again, and he was such a jerk, always putting me down, even to his friends, that I dumped him. It took two years and a restraining order to get rid of him. he’d even put a funeral bouquet (the kind that go on coffins) on my car. Now, I’ve had a male friend for years who won’t get serious because I’m fat (never mind we used to to it like rabbits! and I'm only 1 size bigger). I’ve given up on church – seeing happy families leaving church together makes me cry, like “see, you can’t have this," God. so I don’t go. We all have sadness in our lives.
I’ve come to accept what happened must have had its reasons and accepted it. So I type fanfic. (btw: my brother is living my dream: house, married to a great lady, kid, 2 dogs, although fish instead of cat, and a lizard in my nephew’s room.)
I still hope for some love in my life and am thankful for the wonderful friends I have. Even those in other countries.
I’m healthy for the most part. Have a job that pays the bills and allows me to dine out when I wanna. I drive a really really old car.
No pets though. No wagging tail to greet me at the door or a cat to roll on the carpet to say I missed you, pet/feed me
Oh, er… sorry. ahem. Yes, your right, there isn’t a reason Severus can't,…. oops: Voldemort, Dark Lord’s Dark Mark, Slytherin boys eager to follow in daddy’s footsteps and sign up to terrorize people/Muggles-borns and Muggles… and a teaching job he hates/likes and the school rules. Oops.
And do any of us really know what we’re getting into? I'd never have hook up with Rayne BOughman if I had. Don't know if I'd ahve hooked up with HD (the one that died) either? he really broke my heart. I'd have chosen to date Sean instead of Jay - the one that dumped me for the one moving in the same day "you have to go, she's on her way?"
Oh, gosh, sweetie! Lazyman’s isle. Fanfic tales generally do end happier and with a ever after feeling. It’s fanfic.
I hope you like how this all turns out. Thank you for reading and for the review, story and I hope not to disappoint. bea~
In the Great Hall on the morning that the Daily Prophet carried the article about recent deaths and mentioned (without naming) Hermione's injuries from Dolohov's curse, Severus noticed how upset she looked... and he noticed a package one of the school owls had delivered to her. It was wrapped in brown paper and tied in a string, possibly a package from home or the book by her plate. Would I be correct in thinking was the Christmas gift she had ordered for him— the one he opened along with his other gifts from his colleagues? And I think that her gift will play a huge role in his life before all is said and done. The chapter was especially special. Without getting to spend a lot of time together, just the two of them, Severus and Hermione still managed to see, do, and say some very telling things. The next chapter can't get here fast enough to suit me!Hugs, Beth

Nothing gets by you, brayer! His gift, as I have in my outline (which changes constantly) doesn't, execpt to give him an idea.... but, yes, hers from him will play a very significent role, as will two gifts he'd given her previously. I'm delighted that you enjoyed the chapter, and yes, while their time together was limited, I tried to give you loads. Hopefully the wait won't be too bad, it's in queue. Thank you for reading and for the review. Hugs~
I just read the last couple of review responses and I want you to know how much I appreciate that you answer them. Not all authors do. You did answer my "is it going to end sadly" question. I'm sorry I sometimes ask the same question in more than one review. I forget. Your love story is very sad. Men are so lame! I love camping! We used to camp, but I had to pick a fight in January to get him to take me by August. After 34 years I don't have the energy to fight anymore. My mom and I used to camp without our husbands, but my tent trailer rotted in my driveway. The last time my husband and I used it we had to go home because of snow. It was too big for me to open and air out alone and he never got around to helping me, so it rotted. My mom and I did some tent camping after that. The last time I camped was probably 10 years ago in the tent. It was a crack up! My husband and I had two boxers that were couch dogs, Dane and Greta. They hated camping. They were afraid, and didn't know where they were allowed to poop without their grass. They didn't understand why we were still outside in the dark. It scared them to wear sweaters, and that was just for starters. It was just wrong on too many levels in their little doggy minds. So, we took them home the next morning then went back up for 3 more days. But I was terrified of bears and couldn't sleep. Without a dog is the only time I'd ever experienced bears. It was with my mom a couple of years earlier, and here we were in the very same camp site again without a dog. We always go late in August when there are only about 5 people in the whole campground and we are all spread out far apart. Having bears was the most scared I've been in my whole adult life! Bears are so much bigger 10 feet from your tent trailer than they are on TV and they even breath loud! Looking back, me and my mom were a hoot and it's a fond memory! We had 3 bears. Somehow, we actually got cell phone service, which was miraculous, and we called the game rangers. They must have been laughing their asses off at us. They were like, "No, we are not going to come scare the bears away. Die camper scum!" "But we have an ice chest full of meat under one of the beds!" "Then go outside and pull it away from the tent trailer." My mom says, "Would you like me to pull it closer to the bears?" I had a crappy 38 5 shot pistol and a 22 magnum that would have just pissed the bears off. The rangers said, "If you have to shoot one of our bears there's a lot of paperwork you'll have to fill out, so don't piss them off." My mom said "Thank you soooo much for all your help." I'm like, "Mom, what if they come in to get the skittles?" She's like, "If the bears try to come in, I'll hold them off and you go out the back." We are whispering by the way, as if the bears didn't know we were in there. It's like squatting with your skirt over your head. I'm like, "I am not leaving you here with 3 bears, mother!" She says, "I. am. your. mother. and you will do what I say!" In the end the bears stayed for an hour and 20 minutes, then ran off when it started to become dawn. We could have used some repelling spells. I'm very glad we agree on the idea that generally fanfiction should be happy at the end. I thank you from the bottom of my heart!

I answer every review I get. If you’re going to take the time to not only tell me your thoughts about my chapter, in essence encouraging me to continue, then I should respond in kind. I don’t normally respond to my responses, though.
I don’t mind that you asked the question more than once. I probably answered it both times. Lol
I have to admit, I loved the dog story, cute. And the bears! Oh gosh, hilarious now, after the fact, huh?
Too bad wands only work on paper at my house.
Yep, read some of my one shots – I think I mentioned a few. I like happy Hermione and Severus.
Thank you for reading, and sharing your story with me and for the review.

I'm very fond of this Severus. If Professor Snape remembers all of this, he can't help but have a very special place in his heart for Hermione Granger. He isn't that close to very many people. He channels his feelings for her into protectiveness. That's very gallant of him. But he must once in a while wonder what the future could be like if he were to survive the war and after Hermione grew up. He probably thinks she would be repulsed by him now. I bet he has another think coming, if he does believe that. He might not remember that Hermione isn't a shallow fickle girl and she has the same problems fitting in that he has. I wonder how you will make sure Severus survives the war. Please tell me before I read any further that you do change that time line. I can't read sad stories. I get too involved in the characters. I seldom read a WIP because I always look at the last chapter before I decide to read a story. I can't read them if they end sadly, and I want very very much to continue reading this story. Even though it is serious, you keep it light hearted and fun! I don't know why people read books that bring you down. They must be just too happy or something and feel guilty if they don't make themselves sad on purpose. Real life is already more than enough for me. Reading is my escape from reality. Thank you for the great weekend I've had. On Saturday night, I didn't go to bed until 5 am this morning because I was reading and responding. It took forever to write the Gilligan's Isle song over. I better go to bed early tonight.
Response from beaweasley2 (Author of Consequences of Meddling with Time)
I’m delighted that you like how I am typing Severus. Yes, as said before, he has the diary and has read it several times, warren in it and remembers the time she stayed with him when he was 16. Your assessment is really perceptive. No, she’s not fickle, and yes, before she befriended Harry and Ron she was an outcast, too. This is a Time-Turner fic, and where does it say he died? There was no body recovered at the end of Deathly Hallows, and to have a Potions master die from one bite to the neck by a snake? “Put a stopper in death,” he said first day of class. Antivenom. Fanfic. ME~! Okay, you’ll be disappointed and then relieved. That’s all I’m going to say.
And unlike JKR, I love Severus.
I like happy endings, too! I’ve only written one sad ending story, and even its hopeful. It was a one shot, and has a picture with it. Taking Farewell. And my oneshot From the Shack to Quiescence might be considered sad, but it’s not really. Okay, Kwik Work On A Broken Heart was sad, I’ll give you that—it’s about Emmeline Vance and a love interest.
Severus—I don’t kill Severus, and he didn’t die. He was taken away from the shack by a friend so he could recover in piece. Who depends on my story.
I’m delighted that you’ve had a good weekend. Thank you for your review and for giving my complicated story a try.
My question has been answered. He remembers himself fixing this problem when he was at school. This little stay of Hermionie's can't help but affect the way they feel about one another when she eventually gets back to her own time. I am falling in love with the plot, I can tell. I had to wait until the chapters were far enough ahead of me before I started the story so that I'm hoping I won't catch up until you are finished. If you weren't a girl I 'd ask you to go steady. HEEE HEEE Keep up the great story telling my dear!
Response from beaweasley2 (Author of Consequences of Meddling with Time)
I'm so glad that you are enjoying the story so far. Yep, I've kept track of may little bits as I've gone along, and pieces, places and things from previous chapter will spring up agian in later ones. Oh, you're right in one, and I hope you enjoy the interactions between them as the story progresses. I'm currently typing the DH year and what happenes then due to what went on before. I hope you enjoy the rest of the story. Thank you for reading and for the review. Hugs~
Fascinating story! However, I'm not sure I understand why Severus didn't tell anyone; Dumbledore or Harry and Ron, for example, that it was all a terrible mistake due to Hermione's accident using the time turner? If Harry and Ron knew it might have stopped a lot of false accusations. Dumbledore could have done damage control, making up a lie to tell the student body that someone outside of Hogwarts had done this, or that an accident had occurred, she got splinched or even a troll had gotten into the dungeons again. LOL! Certainly Dumbledore is in on the fact that Hermione was using a time turner. Dumbledore may have been able to go back and stop the beating, using it himself. I have a feeling that is what Severus intends to do. But if Dumbledore had done his usual spin on the truth, some kids wouldn't have pledged to Voldemort. Could you help me understand why Severus kept this information to himself? Once again, fascinating story!Dag-nabit!! I forgot to check the "contact me if the author replies" box.
Response from beaweasley2 (Author of Consequences of Meddling with Time)
Thank you very much. It’s really makes my day to read such supportive remarks. In regards to Severus’ actions, I’ll shed some light on the matter, that will greatly explain some of his actions farther in the story I’ve concocted. What if we lived multiple lives? Or what if you relived a period of your life—as in time loops? How or would it affect you? change you? This is one of the questions I had going in. If you pay attention, you’ll see how my mind answered these questions.
Severus in the beginning is very canon. He would tell Dumbledore what he needed to know. However, in this, he does keeps things to himself because of the improbability that telling Dumbledore would fix the problem, or if Dumbledore’s meddling would fix the circumstances. Even if Dumbledore made up a story, told a lie, or something like that – the truth has a way of coming out eventually. If DD had gone back himself, who’s to say that he’d have any more success that Severus does.
Besides, Severus knows when what and why and decided to handle it himself. Quietly. That may seem OC to some, but the given prompt said he goes back in time to see his younger self. So this is how I had him handle it and why.
Hopefully as you read on, you’ll see what I mean. I do hope you like the rest of the story. (and I hope you’ve checked back here for your answer.) Thank you for reading and for the review.
Dear Severus. He loves her in a way. This Professor Snape responded the way I would have expected, telling Dumbledore off for putting Hermione in danger. I can't believe they let her do this. What does Harry think when she disappears for a week or two? Does he ask where she is? Does Dumbledore tell him she has made a time turner mistake and must be hidden for now, or something else? Harry isn't supposed to know about the time turner. This Professor Snape Smiles more than I would expect from him, but only at Hermione it seems. That makes sense. He is fond of her. I am very offended on his behalf regarding the questions Dumbledore was asking Hermione about him before he arrived. He still doesn't trust Severus does he? Or is it that he truly believed Severus was a bad kid back in school and Dumbledore was headmaster?I know he played favorites, but I felt he knew his Gryffindors were lying about Severus and chose to take their side because Severus was from Slytherin. Now, about that order from Dumbledore for Hermione to come to him or Minerva if she needs to be hidden, does he mean that if she goes backward to the 70's again, or if she comes back to this timeline and needs to be hidden? She shouldn't trust Dumbledore and I think Professor Snape was trying to tell her so when he gave her that look when Dumbledore told her to come to him or Minerva. I don't trust him not to try to change the timeline to suit himself. I'm confident Hermione will let Severus hide her when she goes back again. If Dumbledore took the time turner back 20 years, hid out until it cooled and then went back further to when Tom Riddle was a student; Tom could have a nasty accident and a lot of people would be saved. I wonder what would happen to Severus if there was no Voldemort and Lily was never killed. The purpose for his life would be completely different. I doubt he would have become a professor at Hogwarts. But with his intelligence and skill, he would have made something of himself. He would never have had the opportunity to become a death eater. And we can see from teenSeverus that he was never a bad person. I'm off to read the chapter again in case I missed any subtle hints. What fun!
Response from beaweasley2 (Author of Consequences of Meddling with Time)
Yes, he has come to have feelings for her, although he’d deny them to the moon before admitting to even harboring the teeniest feelings for the girl. How exactly do you tell your boss off? Especially one that stood up for you during your trial, accepted supervision of your probation and gave you a job?
Harry is as unaware of the Time-Turner and her ‘disappearances’ as he is in the books. She shows up for lessons on time, even if she hadn’t been walking with them, and everything appears normal from his perspective (just as in the books and the movie)
Yes, this Professor Snape, now that she is back in the normal sense, does smile occasionally. He would not smile around Harry, but around Hermione he does. It is because of fondness, and his memories of her. Dumbledore would have wanted to know – a young girl alone with a boy for days, and a bed, in a room no teacher goes in, and he’s making sure that there is nothing to question. Any parent would ask the same questions, and Dumbledore is responsible for all the students in the castle. He wanted to make sure that he can still trust Severus, (his useful spy) and yes, Dumbledore has favorites. Even when he was a student, Dumbledore sided with his Gryffindors.
That order, do you really think she’s going to do that? Turn to Dumbledore when she has a mishap? Severus, teen Severus protected her, cared for her and gave her books so she’d not be totally bored. Severus kept her safe and shared things with her… Yes, that look, believe me, she got it.
Don’t think that this hasn’t crossed Dumbledore’s mind that with this Time-Turner he could do that. But keep in mind – Severus is using a diary to keep track of where Hermione arrives, date, time, place, circumstances and so he knows what’s going to happen. It plays a big role in the jumps and in the future. Dumbledore would be guessing and relying on his memory – such as it is, and it’s not infallible.
Teen Severus is Professor Snape untainted by the swirl of events that shaped who he became: Lily smirking at his embarrassment by the lake, Lily’s turning from him, Lily not forgiving him or understanding that he had to get along with his dorm mates, Lily marrying his nemesis James, bearing James son. Becoming a Death Eater, possibly killing people, raiding homes and places under the Dark Lord’s orders, causing mayhem, fear and terrors in public places… things Death Eaters do. If any of it had gone better, he might have been had a booming business selling Potions and Elixirs, IMHO. But I was not setting out to change the Harry Potter story – this is a warping of events behind the scenes and developing a slightly altered version of the same.
Good night, sweetie. Hope you enjoy the rest of the story. Thank you for reading and for the review.
Oh, Sev, Sev, Sev! Your doe patronus isn’t Lily any longer. Haven’t you noticed how often Bea describes Hermione gazing at you with “doe-like eyes”?
Response from beaweasley2 (Author of Consequences of Meddling with Time)
Apparetnly not... lol More so, I'm so glad that you have. It's important to the .. well, later on. Thank you for reading and for the review.
I could feel it in my bones and the thought had crossed my mind just this morning that it was time for an update from you. Thanks as always.
Response from beaweasley2 (Author of Consequences of Meddling with Time)
In your bones? wowzers. lol You are most welcome. Here's good news, I added the next chapter in the queue! Hopefully, it will post soon. Thank you for reading, well, for sticking with me and for the review. Hugs
Please say he goes to visit check on her safety at New year...:)
Response from beaweasley2 (Author of Consequences of Meddling with Time)
lol well, humm. What I can say is that I put the next chapter in the queue. Hopefully you'll have it soon. Thank for sticking with me and for the review, too.
And wouldn't he just love to be a fly on the wall while she swam! :)
Response from beaweasley2 (Author of Consequences of Meddling with Time)
Only he'd have his inner deamons to deal with. I don't think he'd be able to handle himself, keeping himself in such control, if he did I mean she does swim in bikinis! and that's hard on a guy. lol Sunny, thank you for reading and for the review. The next one is in queue! Hugs
Thanks for writing such an amazing story. You get these characters in a way most writers can't even touch. You have an incredible plot that blends in so nicely with the cannon storyline. I can't wait for more!!
Response from beaweasley2 (Author of Consequences of Meddling with Time)
Thank you very much. I enjoy writing and it is its own reward when some enjoys reading my stuff. Thank you for your kind words and I hope you enjoy the rest of the story.
Hehehe, they are both figuring out that they like the other, but when will they figure out it's reciprocated? That's when things will get interesting. My guess is this won't happen before he has to kill Dumbledore, unless you are making some big changes to the canon timeline in that regards. Love the story so far, will be anxiously awaiting updates, please don't keep us hanging too long!

Yep, they are, aren't they? Hum, dunno when that will happen, but it should. Keep in mind that this story, I'm goign with the stern Severus that likes the rules, and the school rules as well as the school charter says teachers are not to seduce students - and so does teh MLE. So, to keep his job (he as to prepare her and keep her safe for as long as he can) he has to stay at school. teaching. And no, even though there are minor changes, the major things that happened in the book are goign to happen in the story. However, yes, she'll find out - remember the diary? hint - spoiler - sorry. Hugs I'm delighted that you are enjoying the story, that's so awesome to know, and I hopefully will not delay too long in posting - as soon as I get chapters back from betas I share them, I promise. Thankyou for reading and for the review.
So, I notice that he is slowly reverting back to his more relaxed attitude regarding hermione.. Calling her his little Gryffindor, ect. So will he eventually slip and say something regarding her he shouldn't? Hmm.. I'm waiting ("patiently") for those naughty bits you promised! Lol
Response from beaweasley2 (Author of Consequences of Meddling with Time)
He is, isn't he? Oh, He might. lol I promise you there will be sex and naughty bits, there will. I thank you for being patient, but it's coming. Thank you also for reading and for the review.
Aww, wondering how (if it's even possible) this story will have a happy ending. Maybe, of you follow her timeline, a healing potion they make from the unicorn saves him at the shack? Or.. I don't know. I just hope it's happy at the end!!
Response from beaweasley2 (Author of Consequences of Meddling with Time)
Oh wait and see. There will be a bit of heartache, then loads of sex and happiness, abandonment, waiting... and well, I'll get you there. I promise. Thank you for reading and for the review.
Ok, I was halfway following the time jumps myself till I read your explanation (which totally confused me!! Lol), but I'm just not worrying about keeping them too clear. Anyways, I like the story do far, so I'll keep reading now. :)
Response from beaweasley2 (Author of Consequences of Meddling with Time)
You're thinking will be fine, don't worry so much about the timelines: some readers did and got confused. Basically she makes 3 jumps in her third year - and it's how htey turn out that makes Severus do what he does. I hope you enjoy the rest of the story. I'm busily happily typing away... Thank you for reading and for the review.
Aww, poor Ron, all twitterpated by the girls. LOL, does Bulstrode affect him too? ;) hermione doesn't want Ron anyways, she wants some snark in her men. Lol
Response from beaweasley2 (Author of Consequences of Meddling with Time)
You feel sorry for Ron – He knows about the Bloom and the Allure and he’s still falling for Lavender’s entrapment! Harry, Neville, Seamus and Dean have been able to ‘maintain’ but Ron hasn’t. Consider this.
Believe it or not, during the old days, girls would be introduced, a coming out ball, at the beginning of their Bloom, (as best as parents could time it) and this would ensure a 'match' made for marriage. Barbaric, I know, but then some witches, like Bulstrode, this would be advantageous, right? I mean, money only does so much for a good match. lol
Nope, Hermione thought she was attracted to Ron, but then we’ve all had those dumb little crushes that later we grow up to think ‘what was I thinking?’
Thank you for reading and for the review.

"You can put lipstick on a pig, but it's still a pig." Lol.
Response from beaweasley2 (Author of Consequences of Meddling with Time)
I know as readers we often take what little description we have of a character and form our own ‘image’ of what they look like. True, to Harry, Ron and Hermione, Millicent is not a nice person. Harry describes her as pig nosed and pudgy, but one must realize that Harry is not always kind in his assessment of people – look at how he describes Hermione: bucked toothed and bushy haired and bossy. If she’d been a student in Slytherin and mean to him, we’d have hated her, too. And you know how he describes Severus. Hardly flattering. in fact he's hardly flattering to any but Cho Chang.
Harry isn’t really one of the kindest people when it comes to his views of people. Sure he doesn’t have the ‘cool’ friends (in his opinion) but each one ends up being heroes of the War in the end. That said, let’s consider another view of Millicent.
Now, pug noses are not ugly horrible noses. It is a derogatory way to say it’s turned up a little at the tip. Millicent is not a skinny girl, she’s beefy or buff. She can wrestle. I wish I could post pictures in a review, so I will have to give you links of what I mean. On Harry Potter lexicon, she described as square build, heavy jawed, and she’s quite strong. (POV from Harry's perspective, btw). But they didn’t put a pic of her there. But on the site Cosplay (http://www.cosplay.com/costume/107806/) they picture a girl that matches the description, she’s beefy, brown hair in braids, and looks strong, but she’s not an ugly girl. Now, picture this girl smiling happily at something. she'd be all right in my book.
On wikia, she’s a pudgy girl in Slytherin robes (http://harrypotter.wikia.com/wiki/Millicent_Bulstrode) but on (http://strodes.insanejournal.com/ )we see a completely different girl on a bed listening to music and doing homework. That girl also kinda matches the description, but in a way she’s cute. Tough, no-nonsense and loves music. On Polyvore, she looks unkind, but if this girl was smiling and happy she’d look like a fun girl: http://www.polyvore.com/millicent_bulstrode/thing?id=9579082
Thing is, in almost all the images posted as Millicent the girl is not smiling - she's sneering. Every time we see Millicent in canon, she’s scowling at Harry or Hermione, both of whom she dislikes. But Millicent has friends: Pansy, Daphne Greengrass, Tracy Davis and she gets on well with the Slytherin boys in her year. But we don’t see a ‘good side to her’ from Harry’s perspective.
That said, Millicent might not be a georgous beauty, but she’s from a respected family (or was before Voldemort drug them down) and possibly has money. Who knows who might find her attractive, or funny or likable? Just because she’s not a nice girl to Hermione, doesn’t mean she’s not nice to somebody.
On other fanfic sites I've read on, Millicent ends up being a descent girl - post war. Alone, no family and having to make ends meet, or she's on probation and working in shops. I've seen her paired with Harry, and others, and she (as we sometimes do) grows up to be a respectable woman. Sometimes that which was so important in school, seems less so when we grow up and get on with our lives. That girl we hated might end up working on our office or be the clerk we have to ask for help or be the office client we are to do business with.
So in regards to Millicent, its fine to not like her, and to go along with Harry and call her pug nose or fat, but keep in mind, there are those like her who were teased inschool for similar reasons, me included.
However you're right in one aspect, I'd find it really funny to see guys drulling over Millicent during her Bloom.
Hi, Bea. Yes, I'm finally leaving a review even though it's been forever since I first read this chapter. Loved it. The scene when Hermione runs into Severus in her escape from Ron and Lavender is great. Hermione doesn't even realize where she heads when troubled - down towards the dungeons and Severus. And the monologue she has in the bathroom when Severus follows her.... Has she never experienced legilimacy before? Her thought "Gods, she missed that Severus Snape" had to have rocked Severus back on his heels. Wonderful. And only watching her, noticing the fit of her jeans, because she was in his line of sight was precious.Great chapter, Bea. Very much looking forward to more, as always. Keep 'em comin' dear.

I'm delighted that you enjoyed the chapter. Thankyou for reading and for the review.

Hermione is being rather magnanimous towards Ron and Lavender, even if it was his "choice." I'm starting to wonder if there's an expression for girls who trap boys whilst Blooming. I'm glad Ginny reached out to Hermione -- so that Hermione doesn't think Ginny's friendship is dependent on the outcome of Hermione's relationship with Ron. Nice chapter!
Response from beaweasley2 (Author of Consequences of Meddling with Time)
I'm sure that there is an expression for girls who do trap a guy during their Bloom. I don't think that Ginny's friendship is contingent on H/R working out, Ginny has so many brothers and I'm sure she choses frinds based on the person - she is friends with Luna afterall. Thank you for reading and for the review.

I'm wondering why Hermione and Draco don't bump into each other, the way they both keep using the Room of Requirement. No paintings or ghosts outside the RoR? Poor Hermione, having to wtch Lavender with Ron and feeling insecure despite her brilliance. Thanks for updating!
Response from beaweasley2 (Author of Consequences of Meddling with Time)
Sheer luck - or the fact that most of the time he was inther he had a look out. Nope, that part of the corridor, as far as I know from canon, didn't have any paintings, and the ghosts aren't hanging around in that part of the castle. Yes, well, teenage is one of those times when hurts and crushed feelings seem all the more 'life ending' than they are as you get older. But she'll be fine. Thank you for reading and for the review.

Nevertheless, her Muggle jeans do hug her hips all too provocatively, he mused with a sly grin... It wasn’t that he was staring at her, she was simply in his line of sight.
Riiiiight. Just keep telling yourself that, Professor. Still, Severus' unsuccessful attempts to connect with Draco are beginning to have bad effects on his sense of self-control.
His feelings of impotence and fear increased; he’d made an Unbreakable Vow. If Severus couldn’t gain the boy’s trust, if somehow the boy failed and Severus was not there to help him, then he’d die—all for not knowing what he should and doing what he had vowed to do. Reading that really brought home to me how terrible it must be for him trying to deal with Dumbledore's cursed hand and trying to find out what Draco was up to.
The ingredients that Severus and Dilys are using to strengthen the Headmaster's potion are interesting. I googled several of them to note their medicinal qualities and came away with admiration for the research you put into your writing. You work hard at telling a good story and it shows!
When Hermione went to visit Severus I was hoping he would have a project for her to work on so she'd have something to occupy her mind, but he was too busy at the moment. I did note that she had passed Draco on her way to the dungeons, and once in Severus' office she saw Altheda Crockford’s frame. Perhaps wherever Altheda was at the time she will have noticed Draco being out and about and will mention it to Severus.
I don't know where Draco was going, but it couldn't have been the Room of Requirement because it let Hermione and Ginny go in to the DA sparing room. Where is Draco and what is he doing? And who is the second-year Slytherin boy that was with him? You have a clever way of leaving clues around like bread crumbs for birds, and I never know when something is going to make an appearance later in the story.
Thanks for giving me more fodder to feed my active imagination, Bea! You keep me busy.
Beth

Brayer, hello.
I know, he’s in such denial, isn’t he. Yes, his attempts at trying to connect with Draco are frustrating him, but he also knows that Bellatrix got her claws into Draco before school started, so it’s her poisonous mouth that he’s fighting against as well. I’m sure she’s writing t Draco and offering advice. Yes, you are so right, he’s feeling impotent and ineffective where Draco is concerned and the pressure of the Vow is weighing heavily on his, as are his obligations and promises to Dumbledore.
As for the research, yes, I do look everything up, and I try to get the medicinal herbs right, as well as all the other bits I weave in. Of course, I make mistakes, and some of my maths stuff is not—I’m not any better at maths than JKR. I use a calculator and pencil and paper! But I really try to make it as believable as possible for you. I smiled when I read that you looked them up – that’s so cool of you. Keep in mind, I do make up herbs/plants as well, especially magical ones or potion ingredients.
No, unfortunately he was too busy, but the important thing is that he still took the time to talk to her, and didn’t just send her on her way. Yes, she passed Draco on the way. The boy? Cant’ you guess? (hint – it’s canon, the little boy is one of Draco’s helpers – either Crabbe or Goyle under Polyjuice. I don’t mind telling you that because JKR had that in her book.) Yes, the serene but lonely background is one of Altheda’s frames, the one that she uses to talk to Severus, but she’s shy. She is either ducked out of sight, or off at her other frame. Altheda leaves when Severus has company, especially a student. She doesn’t like being in his office when there is a student in there.
No this time he wasn’t in the RoR. But you know he was up to something.
You are most welcome, brayer. Thank you for reading and for another fun review. Hope your weekend is wonderful. hugs

This is my favorite scene in this chapter:He smiled at the question. He wasn’t surprised she was familiar with both. “I suppose the Death Eater version would be inappropriate,” he said with a smirk. “If we do Death Eater rules—or lack thereof—shouldn’t we be in the larger room?” she asked, grinning at him.Shocked my sock off! Ah, enjoyed that chapter a lot. So, Severus is running out of 'reasons' to put Hermione in detention. But, seeing as he's the consumate Slytherin, I'm confident he'll continue to come up with something. So, Severus and Albus discuss Hermione's training, do they? Interesting. How is this going to play into end of school year events, assuming you stay with canon in Albus' 'treatment' of the cursed hand? You mentioned in your review answer from the last chapter that a "big event" would lead to SS/HG. Can I guess this will be at the end of her sixth year with the events on the Astronomy tower? Or will you have something else happen in this school year to be the trigger? Or will it even be in this year? Like you'll answer any of this - you're going to leave us questioning and wondering, aren't you.Really enjoyed the training Hermione received on the hand movements for spell casting. Severus seems to be using any excuse he can use to touch Hermione, no matter how innocent the touching is. Yes, he's a well trained spy, but I wonder when he'll slip and do more than think about touching her hair or maybe let his hand linger on hers as he's correcting her hand positions. And enjoying seeing her blush? Oh, he's got it bad. Will we get a glimpse of the dueling practice in a flashback or memory? Loved that he dueled in rolled up shirt sleeves, flashing his Dark Mark, looking for a negative reaction, like Hermione would be repulsed by that *smirks*Will you write about the Slughorn Christmas party? Would Hermione be able to talk with Severus in 'public' without arousing suspicion? Will Hermione ever discuss Draco with Severus? Don't know how that could come up but I just wonder.Wonderful work as always. Thank you so much for this story. It's still my favorite.Merry Christmas, Bea

, hello. Now you know I can’t answer all these questions, right?
Do you really think he’s run out of reasons? Severus? The most dreaded teacher in Hogwarts? Of course he can! He’s Slytherin after all. lol
I doubt that there is very little that goes on with Hermione, Harry and Ron that the Headmaster isn’t aware of. And we already know that some of the DA is going to take dueling as seriously as they took Yoga – some of them are still doing it (remember Luna said so) Yes, there will be a big event, and I’m actually planning a little befuddling one before that… but I’m going to have to play mum on that. Sorry. Astronomy Tower - Good guess, but you’ll have to wait and see. And yes, there could be something else as a trigger… again… I do have a nice surprise even before the big event!
One surprise is in this year… one in next year… and then there is the summer thing… but that’s gonna be a bit complicated. We will see Severus swim – well dive. You’ll enjoy that.
Yes, he’s finding ways to touch her, and getting away with it! Yep, he’s a self taught spy – but please, I don’t buy into the ‘years of spying’ – He’s just very clever. He graduated in 1979 – joined Voldemort sometime between June of 1979 to 1980 (probably the summer of 1979) Now he heard the prophecy before July 1980 when Harry was born, because the prophecy says the boy WILL be born then – and he either turned to Dumbledore before Harry was born or shortly after. That’s about 1 ½ years spying…. Then Voldemort was vanquished (or so everyone except Dumbledore and Severus thought) then there is about 14 years of peace, prosperity and a teaching job Severus doesn’t really care for. Then Voldemort comes back in 1995 (the end of Harry’s 4th year) and Severus is spying again. More or less, around his teaching duties – mostly over the summer and Christmas holidays. So at this point, he’s been a spy again from the end of May 1995 to present which is roughly the middle of October 1996! So I really think it’s his cleverness, intelligence, cunning guile, Occlumency skills and self-preservation abilities keeping his hide intact.
– But yes, sorry to rant, he will slip, and he will berate himself, and he will still do those things he shouldn’t just to spend stolen moments with her. Poor sod. However, at present, she’s not looking at the possibility of having a relationship with him – she sees him as her teacher, a beloved teacher, one she loves talking to, is attracted to his scent and who blushes easily around him.
Yes, I will write about the Slughorn’s Christmas party. However, I found a slant to it that may surprise you.
Yes, she will be able to, why not, most of what they talk about is academic or related to magic/potions/theory.
As of now, Hermione doesn’t believe Harry that Draco is up to no good, but in time she’ll realize he’s right. I don’t know If I’ll work in a discussion between Severus and Hermione about Draco… But I’m on chapter 46 and it ends with the Apparition testing. Ohhhh, you’ll like that part! Well the after the exam part! Sorry. don’t mean to tease. But you will!
