I live in Virginia with my husband and 2 children. I make pottery, but, thanks to Harry Potter, I have rediscovered a passion for writing.

Ooh, a mystery. I wonder if Lavender is behind it.
Response from ClayPotter (Author of Secret Recipe)
Lavender is part of the problem, but not in the way that you might think. Thanks for your comments.
Hmmm... the good professor has a point--Ron's behaviour is illogical. I wonder what he wants and what is causing his strange behaviour. Lovely chappie as always, dear. Looking forward to more! -

You will find out soon what has been spurring Ron on in such an illogical way. Thanks for the review.
Aww, what a wonderful chapter, dear! I think it is sweet that Morticia and Gomez are so affectionate with one another--so much so like the Addams couple. I wish that Sev would let go of some of that tough resolve and give in a little sometimes. He is such a great, honourable man and Hermione needs someone like that, not the "Walnut Head," Ron. -

I could not agree more. I never could understand why JKR paired the two of them up together. She must see something in Ron that she never showed us in the books! Thanks so much for reading and reviewing. I'm glad that you are enjoying it.
Very intersting line of thinking. Severus is right, it's to much anger comming from Ron. Hope to read more soon!
Response from ClayPotter (Author of Secret Recipe)
Sev is objective enough to see it. Hermione is too emotionally involved. He will get to the bottom of it, don't worry.
This story makes my heart hurt. I just imagine my ex trying to do this to me and it just kills me. And it's not even happening to me! Excellent story and I am following it closely, but I can't wait until Ron gets his and Hermione gets to see his children again.
Response from ClayPotter (Author of Secret Recipe)
I never dreamed how many people would get really emotionally involved in my story. I have most definitely struck a nerve in many of my readers. Although I have never suffered through a divorce (thank goodness) I know several people who have been through horrible situations because of their ex-spouses. So you are not alone. Thanks so much for reading, and for your touching review.
I was wondering where all this hatred Ron has for Hermione sprung from. There's something definitely going on, and I wouldn't be surprised if it was illegal. That would be just fitting, since Ron prides himself on being an Auror. I think whatever it is should land him in Azkaban. Hermione will look the innocent, and perhaps it will spur Ron into seeing reason. Then she can take the kids, and get full custody instead, since their father would be a felon himself. I know it's a long shot, and probably not even remotely close to what you have thought up. I'm sure your plan for Ron is much more intriguing than what my imagination came up with.
Response from ClayPotter (Author of Secret Recipe)
At this point I think it would be very interesting to start a new thread and have each reader finish the story. It would go in so many different directions - as different as each person who participates. I took a creative writing class once where the teacher gave us all the same introductory paragraph and had us base a short story on it. What a variety of stories! And they all originated from the same first paragraph!Ron's path in my story is not nearly so sinister, but your ideas sound intriguing. Thanks for your comments.
I've been having a diffiucult time reading this story. I went through a similiar situation and it has brought back many of my old feelings and fears.
To say that Ron's attitude and nastiness paralells my ex's is putting it mildly. I have, however been unable to NOT read it. I want to see Ron get his comeuppance as my ex did. The story is well written and emotional charged. I look forward to the next chapter.
Response from ClayPotter (Author of Secret Recipe)
As I told one of the other reviewers, I had no idea that my story would touch a nerve with so many readers. I hope you are not disappointed with the outcome. Thanks so much for taking the time to comment.
I was so glad to see an update. I can't wait to see what Snape uncovers. Have you given us a hint and I missed it?
Response from ClayPotter (Author of Secret Recipe)
The only hint is that Ron has been getting bad advice. You will soon find out what that advice is and who he got it from...
I wouldnt thing Ron could keep secret whatever the hell is bothering him so much that he is willing to put his whole family thorugh this hell. Its an interesting idea tho. I cant wait to see how this unfolds! coolness!~
Response from ClayPotter (Author of Secret Recipe)
It is not necessarily a secret, but Hermione doesn't move in the same social circles as the others involved, and since Sev is a recluse of sorts, he doesn't know either. Thanks for your comments.
Just stopping by in case you are still around to let you know that at least one person (and likely many more) would love to see this finished. No pressure, just encouragement. Hope all is well.
Response from ClayPotter (Author of Secret Recipe)
You are so sweet. I haven't forgotten. In fact, I donate to the site every year to keep it going in the hope I can find time to finish ths story. It is complete in my head, I just need to find time to type it out. If I could just strap my laptop to my bicycle handlebars... Maybe this winter when I train on the trainer indoors I can actually try that. LOL!
Response from HBAR (Reviewer)
Great idea, lol. I think you have to wait until you are ready to write, I just always envision authors considering it, but then telling themselves that no one will still be interested and then giving up.
This is a wonderful story. I enjoy reading it everytime you update. You are right, your story should have been nominated. I just found out about LJ voting and was surprised your story was not there. If I wasn't so late in finding LJ I would have nominated your story myself. Keep writting and updating you dont need a nomination. You are voted for by the number of people who read and follow your story.

. I appreciate your words of encouragement more than you will ever know.
Response from Cyra (Reviewer)
Your very welcome. Keep writting.
This was a wonderful chapter. Very thought provoking. I will stay with you and wait until you post again. This story caught my eye a while ago and now I look forward to your updates.
Response from ClayPotter (Author of Secret Recipe)
I especially had fun writing the interaction between Snape and the girl at the consolate. She wa so clueless. Thanks for your vote of confidence.
Please don't get discouraged about awards (I know, easier said than done - fought it myself this time.) It's a wonderful story, but I guess only the top 5 stories in each category get to the next level - and that can be tough to achieve. You won't know if people nominated you unless you hit the top 5. I look forward to reading more in the future, but I do understand wanting the best continuity. You are weaving a fabulous! tale (and time the completion right and maybe it will be eligible for next year! we just need the grass roots campaign!)
Response from ClayPotter (Author of Secret Recipe)
Thanks so much,
Response from ClayPotter (Author of Secret Recipe)
. I will put my best into the rest of it. If I don't get nominated, at least I will be content to know that I entertained many readers. :) That is the most important thing.
As much as I love to see your updates, I understand wanting to make sure it is fluid and not contradictory. I will bide my time and happily read when posting continues. I love this story. The intrigue is great and the romantic in me so wants a happy ending for Severus and Hermione.
Response from ClayPotter (Author of Secret Recipe)
Thanks you so much for your patience and understanding.I'm so glad you are enjoying my story, and I promise to make the last section worth the wait.
This sis a great story, and I'm glad to see an update. While I hate to think of a long wait on the rest of the story...
Response from ClayPotter (Author of Secret Recipe)
Please don't give up on me. I believe that you will feel it is worth the wait.
You've created a compelling, well-written mystery, Clay. I am disappointed that we won't see updates for a while, but I'll not abandon this story. Good luck and may the muse give you swift fingers.
Response from ClayPotter (Author of Secret Recipe)
Much of it is already rolling around in my head, but there is one critical detail that I need to work out in order for it all to make sense. I will push my fingers as fast as they will go, I promise.
I was happy to see an update. I love your story and are looking forward to the day you update again. Take your time and don't be disapointed about the missing nomination, I guess there are a lot of people out there who are enjoying this and as Cerydden state a lot of us do not nominate.
Response from ClayPotter (Author of Secret Recipe)
I've never nominated anyone either, but there are many stories out there that I love and admire. So I'm just as guilty. Thanks for the encouraging words.
I have enjoyed your story very much and have always looked forward to the next installment - I hope that it won't be too long, but if so I will be waiting :-)
Response from ClayPotter (Author of Secret Recipe)
I'll get it done as fast as I can, but I must be satisfied with it first. So your patience will be greatly appreciated.
Hey, I always get happy to see that you updated! I'm a happy ending junkie and it seemed I'd get my fix with this story. I will be very happy to see the next installment. Please don't be discouraged about the nominations. I have never nominated anyone for anything, but I know what I like and I like this story. I think exposure is a key, plus a lot of authors practically beg people to nominate them or vote for them. Advertising pays, I guess. Anyway, hang in there and make yourself satisfied ... the rest of us will be!
Response from ClayPotter (Author of Secret Recipe)
I am not one to "campaign" for a nomination, and exposure is a problem, but my main concern is producing a quality story, no matter how many (or how few) people read it. So if my readers end up satisfied, I will be, too. Thanks for sticking with me. I'll try my best to make the wait as short as possible.
Did Umbridge give Rita the mirror? This is really interesting. Take your time, dear, and give us your story when you are ready.
Response from ClayPotter (Author of Secret Recipe)
One of the many mysteries that will be solved is who gave Rita the compact. Don't worry, you will know by the end. Thanks for hanging in there with me.
Why do parents feel the need to use their children as weapons. I'm glad to see that Severus went to Molly; hopefully she beats the stuffings out of our lovely Ron *prat*. Looking forward to the next installment
Response from ClayPotter (Author of Secret Recipe)
I am glad to say that I am happily married, but I have seen many of my friends go down that road, both as parents and children as we grew up together. It is very sad. People can be so selfish. And they have no idea the toll it takes on the innocent ones. Thanks for your review. It means a lot.

I read this the other day, but just realized that I didn't leave a review. You've said in some review replies that Ron is getting bad advice. I was pondering just who might dislike Hermione that much and also have influence with Ron. Then it hit me--the 'advisor' doesn't have to dislike her--he or she simply has to be a total ass----. There are a number of those in the HP universe to choose from, but one right in Ron's own family that he might be swayed by: Percy (the prat!). If Ron is actually listening to Percy these days, he has fallen farther down the intelligence scale than I ever believed possible!!Snape had a good idea, returning Hugo to his grandmother and letting Molly know that Ron prevented Hermione from coming to Hugo's party. I hope she straightens her jerk of a son out.

Hi
Response from ClayPotter (Author of Secret Recipe)
, and thanks for your insightful review. But if I give you any hints as to the identity of Ron's advice giver, I will give too much away. You will find out soon. Don't fret.Molly will be a big help to Hermione and Severus before the story is over. I have always liked Molly. I couldn't keep my sanity with that many children. Two was enough for me!Thanks again for taking the time to leave a comment.

I am hopeful that together Snape and Hermione can find a loop hole that even lawyer Blaise didnt know about!
Response from ClayPotter (Author of Secret Recipe)
They don't need loop-holes, the laws need to be changed! Her children are just the first in a series of tall hurdles that Hermione has to get over. We have a long way to go with this story. Thanks for your review.

And just when I thought I couldnt loath Ron anymore, he sinks further down!! I like the idea of Hermione recording all her attempts to see Hugo but I doubt it will help much. Poor Rose that is going to be one hellva shock when she gets her mother's letter. I hope Hermione plans a visit to Hogsmeade as well. Go Snape go run and hide!
Response from ClayPotter (Author of Secret Recipe)
Snape may hide now and then, but never out of fear! Thanks for reading and reviewing.
