Krum? Why Krum? Did I miss something???Thanks for the happier-than-expected denoument here.
Response from ClayPotter (Author of Secret Recipe)
Snape actually has business with Krum, but more happens than he expects.Ron is a dunderhead, but he's not heartless. I'm glad you were satisfied with my resolution to their problem. Of course that cursed book is still a problem...Thanks for the review,

. Yes, Krum, but not in the way that you might think. Thanks for reading and reviewing!CP
Brilliant chapter! Everyone is growing! Molly and Harry shine, and even Ron redeems himself (with a lot of help). I'm so glad that Hermione was honest with him. I like the friendship between Harry and Severus; it feels right at this point in the story. Harry really is a hero, and he has given Severus some hope. I'm really looking forward to the next few chapters of Severus showing Hermione his kind of love. Severus' dialog is very memorable here.

Thanks so much for your vote of confidence, Merrin. One of the reasons I like to write longer stories is that it gives me a chance to develope characters in a believable way. It helps that we had seven books to get to know them but people can change over time, even though they stay the same in many ways.Severus' kind of love is about to backfire in the next couple of chapters, but he will make it right eventually. Thanks so much for all of your support, both as a reader and reviewer, and behind the scenes.CP
Response from WriterMerrin (Reviewer)
Poor Sev, but we can't say that Harry didn't warn him. I usually dislike the trope in romance stories that there must be some grand misunderstanding right before the grand reunion, but you've done so a good job in building it up that it seems like the natural progression and not some false building of tension.
Hardheaded ... idiot ... stupid male ... SLYTHERIN!!! I cannot believe that after all the hell they've been through, Severus is going to try play the 'Just Friends' game and break Hermione's heart and his own in the bargain! This kind of male stupidity can surely only be remedied by feminine common sense. I hope every single female who considers Severus or Hermione a friend gangs up on him and gives him the swift kick in the arse he needs to extricate his head from that orifice ... GRRR!!!Great chappie, BTW.
Response from ClayPotter (Author of Secret Recipe)
Severus is trying to be the wiser (and somewhat synical) older man, no longer driven by his hormones. Although they still pulse through his veins from time to time and are a cause for concern.Glad you enjoyed it, even if it did get your dander up!Thanks for reading and reviewing.
hullo^__^I really liked this new chapter and expecially the way Severus describes how Hermione makes him feel. Ron is a prat all the way and I really hope Hermione won't make the mistake to go back to him...not even for a day!!!She is too smart for that and I think every woman's pride would revolt to such tactics...I think it would be her style to try to change the law, whaterver the price she'll pay for it..and what's more, I don't think it would help at all if they were back togheter:it would simply tell Ron he's right doing what he's doing now. My family situation was a lot like poor Hugo's and my mother never divorced triyng to 'spare' us children and believe me, it was all the worse for that:knowing you're the reason one of your parents is miserable makes a child miserable too and I really hope Severus will be swayed thanks to Harry's words and stop trying to be so 'noble'...after all he is a Syltherin and even if he's not a coward and all that, I think there should be a good dose of ambition and he should be a bit more egoistic by definition: he's been such a good boy of late that we could forget he's not all vanilla (mmm...Severus and vanilla...haaaah-read in Homer's voice please hihihihi). I hope you'll update soon:I can't wait to read your next chapter!!!!Alexisp.s. I loved the way you described the relationship between Severus and the Malfoys...is quite a love-hate one, isn't it?good work^___^

Wow! What an indepth review. Thank you so much,
Response from ClayPotter (Author of Secret Recipe)
, for taking the time to ellaborate. I have friends who suffered, as you did, from parents who did not get along but stayed together for the sake of their children. My own parents almost got a divorce when I was in second grade. They managed to stay together "for our sake," but we were lucky. After about one rough year, they got along pretty well and we didn't end up dysfunctional after all.But your situation is more the norm, I think. Severus' love for Hermione runs deep, but it is an unselfish love. You will find in future chapters that Severus is still Slytherin through and through where business is concerned, but when it comes to true, unconditional love, he is much more a Gryffindor. As Dumbledore once said, "Sometimes I think we sort too soon."ClayPotter
that was a wonderful chapter. I loved Severus's description to Ron and how he then got angry at him. I loved it. can't wait to read more.
Response from ClayPotter (Author of Secret Recipe)
The next one is in the queue, so hopefully, you won't have long to wait.Glad you like it. Thanks.
I can't wait to see how the conversation goes without the heated emotions. You have me curious as to how Severus is going to arrange all of this.
Response from ClayPotter (Author of Secret Recipe)
I really enjoyed writing the next chapter. I hope you enjoy reading it. Please be patient, this time of year is so crazy for everyone. I haven't even sent it to my beta yet.Happy Holidays.
I loved it. I can't wait to read more! I hope they do the computer thing!
Response from ClayPotter (Author of Secret Recipe)
The computer saves the day...Thanks for leaving a comment. Happy Holidays!
brilliant! our sev is so smart. i hope ron gets it in the pants and he deserves lav-lav *gag, puke* i'm definately with severus on this one! thanks so much for the lovely update.
Response from ClayPotter (Author of Secret Recipe)
Ron deserves Lav-Lav -- and what she dishes out...Happy Holidays!
Hmmmm...cyber-wizarding saves the day? Completely original concept. Very good! I am glad that there's some resolution on the horizon for them all. But I'm anxious for Severus and Hermione to get together!!! I know, I know. I'll just have to be patient.
Response from ClayPotter (Author of Secret Recipe)
Ron and Hermione will soon iron out their troubles, but Hermione and Snape have a long way to go. Sorry.Try to have a happy holiday anyway.

Great chapter! The Malfoy part is simply brilliant - so very fitting how the purebloods talk and act. Of course, it's only partly fanon, but quite refreshingly so - and realistically so, too. The Harry part is really sweet - him realising some things about Snape... *grins*.
And do you have anything in store for Winky, too, probably? ;o)
Author's Response: Winky and Tolky are quite fond of each other, but I'm not sure just how much their relationship will blossom during this story. The Malfoys don't give him much time off like she gets. When she visits, she usually just helps him with his chores.
Alcina vom Steinsberg's response: I'm quite fascinated - and interested - in anything about house-elves. On the one hand, there would be the time-problem, of course. But on the other hand - the purebloods do need house-elves and are, in my mind, always eager to have them reproducing. So perhaps even Tolky gets some chance, even if his owner just see it from a practical and duty point of view? ;o)
So good of you to work and give us this story, when the season has everyone short of time. You did great.
Response from ClayPotter (Author of Secret Recipe)
Thanks so much for taking the time during this busy season to read and review. I really appreciate it.Happy Holidays!
Your story refelects so many aspects of RL that it reaches out and makes me want to cry right along with Hermione, divorce is such a emotional situation, and can be very unfair when kids are involved. I greatly dislike Ronald, he is letting the opinions of other 'purebloods' rule his head then the opinions he had when he was younger and great friends with Hermione. The book is something that if it were real, I would take great pleasure in burning. The charms seems to be very similar to the Imperus curse, and I'm thinking, wouldn't that therefor make them illegal charms, as they are taking away the free will of the victim, like the Imperus curse does?I like how the rest of the Weasly's are not against Hermione, as they sometimes are in other FF's when Ronald and Hermione fight. Its a nice change and also refelects how different Ronald is acting and how un-reasonable he is being.I very much like how you have let the relationship between Severus and Hermione develop slowly instead of having them become a couple right away. And I especially like Winky, she is obviously so loving and trusting of Severus and would do anything to keep him happy.Excelet story and I hope you update soon as I am very much looking forward to reading about what happens next

Hi
Response from ClayPotter (Author of Secret Recipe)
, and thanks for the insightful review.I have never been very impressed with Ron, so I kind of made him the bad guy for part of this story. But the charms in the book are just as you suspect, watered down versions of the Imperious Curse. They have been watered down just enough to let them pass for legal. They are not powerful enough for someone to put her life or someone else's life in danger, and I imagine that, on a subconscious level, the woman being charmed must at least like the man doing the charming. It just intensifies the persuasive ability of the man. Hermione is Ron's friend and she didn't want to hurt his feelings, so it was easy for Ron to charm her into going along with the marriage thing and all that goes with it.And although blood is thicker than water in most cases, my own in-laws come to my defense at times, and I have seen my own parents do the same for my husband or my brothers' wives if they think we have stepped out of line. So that happens in the real world too.Luckily, I don't have marriage problems like Hermione and Ron. But I know plenty of people who have lived through such nightmarish scenarios that it makes me cringe.Don't worry, this one turns out for the best eventually. Thanks for reading and reviewing.Happy Holidays!
I just descovered this story Its pure brilliance. Really, it is.
Response from ClayPotter (Author of Secret Recipe)
Glad you like it so far. I hope it will hold your interest.Happy Holidays.
This is an awesome chapter. I loved watching Snape interact with both the Malfoy's and Harry in one sitting. He's really got it bad for Hermione and it's nice to see him work on solving her problems. Thanks for the nice break from the holiday rush!
Response from ClayPotter (Author of Secret Recipe)
Snape does have it bad for Hermione, but he has her best interests at heart, even if he gets hurt in the process.Hope the rush calms down and you enjoy your holidays.
Oh my, now they have to teach Ron how to use a computer... Thanks for the update!
Response from ClayPotter (Author of Secret Recipe)
Yes, Ron does find computers fascinating, but he's not as into it as his dad would be.Happy Holidays!
I think with Rose and Scorpius being friends, Hermione and Draco's wife should join forces and open their own publishing company. Imagine radical feminism combined with creative spell-work inflicted on those pompous husbands! The revolt of the mistresses alone wouls be worthwhile not to mention the transfer of funds (equaling power) changing the Wizarding World to matriarchal. Hee, Hee.Ron is folding to peer pressure and illusions of grandeur at this stage of life? He's always been a very lacking individual.
Response from ClayPotter (Author of Secret Recipe)
Don't men go through a mid-life crisis at about 40? My story line takes place with the "kids" at about 38 - 39, so I guess he's close enough.I like your idea about Hermione and Draco's wife with their own publishing company, but I am already set in a different direction. Hope I don't disappoint you.Happy Holidays!
Me thinks They ought to get an 'uncharmed' copy of the pure-blood males' pet book and Hermione's counter-curses and make them public somehow. Maybe Hermione can offer an interview (and a countercurse) to Rita in exchange for her telling the truth, or they can take what they know to all the influencial women they know in some way... Glad that Harry and Severus are able to put aside their differences and work together. Trully an excellent sory! Looking forward to the next!
Response from ClayPotter (Author of Secret Recipe)
So glad that you are enjoying it,
Response from ClayPotter (Author of Secret Recipe)
.Rita will play a pivotol role, but not the way you think. And the book will be dealt with in a sufficient manner.Happy Holidays!
One way or another, Ron has to go, big time.Spineless jack@$$ needs to be out of the picture. Tired of all this nonsense going on in this universe. After everything they fought for, for it to still be this way? We need a major revolution in the Wizarding World and if that doesn't work. Off with Weasley's head.At least Molly would grant Hermione visiting priviledges.
Response from ClayPotter (Author of Secret Recipe)
Changes that significant don't happen quickly. Laws can be passed for equality, but as we know here in the USA, people can still harbour prejudice and find subtle ways to express it.But take heart. A revolution is not out of the question...
Great chapter. I love Snape and Harry working together for Hermione's benefit. Looking forward to the next bit.
Response from ClayPotter (Author of Secret Recipe)
Thanks,
Response from ClayPotter (Author of Secret Recipe)
, glad you like it. I have always felt that Harry and Snape could work together if they could have wiped the slate clean and forgotten all of the inter-generational history between them.
Great chapter, but still not sure what Ron's reasoning behind being such a prat. Should be interesting when they "talk" it out. Looking forward to an update.
Response from ClayPotter (Author of Secret Recipe)
Ron is letting his hormones rule his head. Simple as that. Thanks for leaving a note.
woo hoo great update well better wake up hubby. he is to take the kids shopping today.
Response from ClayPotter (Author of Secret Recipe)
If hubby is taking kids shopping, I hope that you get some cool gifts! Happy Holidays!
Response from pickles (Reviewer)
We shall see tomorrow. Now its time to get the kids to bed and get wrapping
First off, that was an excellent chapter. Is Ron getting advice from more than one person? Or is Nott the source of this? How about Lav-Lav? Anyway, it seems that Snape and Harry make a perfect team. They should be able to fix this. Then someone needs to write a book to counter that awful one.
Response from ClayPotter (Author of Secret Recipe)
Nott is not the only one who is driving Ron in the wrong direction. And something will be done about the book before the end of the story. Thanks for your review. Happy Holidays!
Ooh. Good idea!
Response from ClayPotter (Author of Secret Recipe)
I think about how anonymus that type of communication feels when I use it. And if CAPSLOCK can be avoided, even ugly phrases can lose some of their sting. It seemed a logical choice, one that Snape would make.
