I live in Virginia with my husband and 2 children. I make pottery, but, thanks to Harry Potter, I have rediscovered a passion for writing.

I HATE RON!!! Not really, but great job making him the world's biggest git! In all seriousness, as a mother it did bring tears to my eyes when she found out she might lose her kids. I think that's got to be everyone's biggest fear. Can't wait for more...also missing Severus!
Response from ClayPotter (Author of Secret Recipe)
You will see more of Severus in upcoming chapters. I, too, cannot imagine losing my children. Luckily, my husband and I are very happy together. The readers seem to be very emotionally invested in this story so far. I expected a lot of comments for this chapter, but the response has been overwhelming! Thanks for reading and reviewing.

that good for nothing piece of SHITE! I can't believe he would do something like that! Ok, I can believe it because he's a heartless bastard, but people like him need to be drug out into the street and beat to death with a large stick! BASTARD! GAH! I HATE Ron... anyways, I can't wait to read the next chapter. Those wizards are so skewed in their thinking... purebloods getting the kids because they are purer... Ludocris! Ron is nothing more than a dunderhead who neglects his responsibilities. he is a cheater and a bastard and needs to die... I could go on and on about him but i'm going to stop. I can't wait to read the next chapter and see what the next dumb thing he does is. I hope Hugo goes bananas and Ron is shown to be neglectful, it would serve him right, the bastard. the rest of the weasleys should be shot too... oh, and ron should be castrated for having an affair in the first place.
Response from ClayPotter (Author of Secret Recipe)
Sorry to disappoint you, but Ron lives through the end of this tale. He will have some regrets, however, and a certain woman will get her revenge! Thanks for the very intense comments. I like it when my readers get emotionally involved in the story.
Response from snapefan2007 (Reviewer)
it's impossible for me to not get emotionally involved in stories i am reading that I find to be of good quality and entertaining. They inspire me to want to write more and break through my writers block. too bad about him living, but i suppose i'll live because he'll have regrets and someone gets revenge... mwa ha ha... anyways, can't wait for more!

Well, it seems that Ron's refusal to give Hugo the potion maybe what saves Hermione her children.I wonder if Severus was really considered about tolerating her company or if he was afraid to spend too much time in her company for other reasons?
Response from ClayPotter (Author of Secret Recipe)
This particulare time, Snape was truly concerned that he would tire of her company. But that attitude will soon change. Thanks for the review.

God, Ron's an ass. Can you make something really bad happen to him? Stray Death Eater and a perfect alibi for Hermione? Great chapter.

Great new chapter! Things are developing not surprisingly, but quite fittingly...
Author's Response: I don't like a story to be too predictable, so I will try to throw a twist or two in there along the way.
Thanks for reading and reviewing.
good for hermione! I love it when ron turns out to be such an arse! :)
Keep it coming!

Yes, she will finally be rid of him, but it will not be the bed of roses that she imagines. At least not at first. Thanks for the review. I will try not to disappoint you.

Oh man, I do feel for Hermione. I agree, knowing that something is over and seeing someone you once loved break the vows made to you is something very different.I look forward to seeing how Hermione handles this.
Response from ClayPotter (Author of Secret Recipe)
Hermione is tough, but Ron has a few tricks up his sleeve that she doesn't know about yet. Thankfully, she will find a friend in both Harry and Snape. They will help her through it, but many trying times lay ahead. Thanks for the comments. Reviews make my day!

i think he could give her good counsel. excellent update. thanks so much and i look forward to the next chapter.
Response from ClayPotter (Author of Secret Recipe)
Snape will give good counsel eventually, but at the moment, he doesn't know much about wizarding divorce law, since he has always been single and his parents stayed together in spite of their problems. The next one is in the queue. Thanks so much for your comments.

What a smart letter (or was it the letter writer who feared the fire?).
Response from ClayPotter (Author of Secret Recipe)
The letter wasn't under a self preservation spell, but that's a great idea for the future! Snape just didn't aim very well when he threw it at the fire. Thanks so much for reading and reviewing.

I personally can't wait until Hermione lets Ron know that she knows about Lavendar. I hope she confronts him either in public in front of Lavendar, or in front of his family. I hope she mentions the book too. That would be perfect for his humiliation. Or she could hex him as well. Either way, I'm looking forward to reading the next chapter.
Response from ClayPotter (Author of Secret Recipe)
Hermione will definitely show her temper in the next chapter. And Ron will get his in a very public way much farther down the road. But lots will happen before then. And it gets worse before it gets better for our favorite know-it-all.The next chapter is in the queue. Thanks so much for the review.

Judge, it was justifiable, Rita had it coming. I don't recall hexing Ron into oblivion but I can't deny what witnesses have said. LOL. It's all about Ron in his own little world. He always came across as wanting the best of everything regardless of whether it was the right thing. He never had enough money/possessions, was over shadowed by his family and friends and felt generally overlooked. I really never saw where he made much of an effort except playing chess or quidditch. Hermione is a bright capable witch with a future but that's not what he wanted her for. But the big question for me is what did Hermione want with Ron? He was her friend and she had feelings for him, which is a good start, but why him and not some discerning ravenclaw or better yet a slightly younger *gasps* (or older) slytherin later? Do you think their relationship would have progressed as far as it did with out his magic witches book? Severus was right in his decision to pull back and let them work things out. Great chapter, I'm enjoying your story, can't wait for the next one.

Hi FlitterKat. I'm so glad that you see the underprivaledged, underappreciated Ron the way I do. And, no, I don't believe that Hermione would ever have married him if Fred and George had not given him the book. Later in the story, you will see who else Hermione was interested in, and just how big a part the book played in her decision to marry Ron.Thanks so much for your wonderful review!

I'm really glad you showed Harry and Hermione laughing about the whole situation. I think you did a great job on showing her side of things, angry, hurt, relieved, etc. Anxious for more with Hermione and Severus though. And I'm glad she's getting ready to leave...Hermione has too much backbone to just keeping taking it!Great job!

I have only been married once, and I am still very happy after over 17 years. But I hear about people in miserable relationships and they stay together. In a way it baffles the mind, but in another way, I can understand their predicament. Humans are afraid of the unknown. A miserable marriage is at least familiar and predictable. And when you invest years into something as important as a marriage, it would be hard to admit that you have failed to make it work. It would be hard to let go. I am pleased that you feel I conveyed those emotions correctly. I wasn't sure, since I have never lived through it myself (and hope I never have to). Thanks for leaving a review. The reviews mean a lot.

Hermione: Dump Ron NOW!! The jerk! It might be hard on the children, but it is much harder to live in a broken home-- with parents who fight all the time. I look forward to the sshg relationship progressing-- as I still love your Snape!

Oh nice one! Purebloods regard it as a right to take a lover! Strangely reminiscent of the reported spat between Prince Charles and Lady/Princess Diana-(taken from CNN Transcripts):She confronted Charles and said, "well, why is this woman always around?" She said that Charles came back to her with, "do you expect me to be the only prince of Wales who doesn't have a mistress?" You have done so well to bring up this difference of background between Hermione and Ron. It will be interesting to see how Hermione deals with it. But from they way you have portrayed Ron (and Molly), I fear he will stop at nothing to try and gain the higher ground...including manipulating innocent interactions. I look forward to see what you do with this.Poor Hugo - my heart goes out to him.Cheers.

Many societies have men with mistresses and it is begrugingly accepted by their wives as the norm. And then there are some Arab countries that allow one man to have 4 wives! But that is a whole different ball game with a hornet's nest of women's rights abuses... for another thread.JKR never goes into it very deeply, but the whole blood purety thing can equal the racial supremecy thing in today's western society (especially where I am from in the southeastern U.S.A.) Race is a real concern for Obama supporters. Many whites will not admit it, but there are some who will not vote for Obama simply because of his skin color. That is a sad reality here. Other countries have different kinds of prejudices, some from race, others from class or social standing. I guess I should get off my soapbox. I am writing this mainly to entertain, but the underlying social issues seem to be winding their way into it anyway. Seems I cannot escape from the social issues that surround us in real life. I tend to write about what I know. Thanks so much for reading, and for your insighful comments.CP

I just have to tell you, my car license plates say: "SNAPE FN" LOL I couldn't spell out the word "fan" because my state doesn't allow as many letters as some of the others. Thanks so much for the favorable review. The next chapter is in the queue.
Response from snapefan2007 (Reviewer)
wow, i would love to have a license plate that says that, but my hubby hates Harry Potter and dislikes my infatuation with Snape. lol. if he were a real person i would want to marry him and not because he was a hero at the end of the 7th book... i love his snark... I can easily say he is the best character in the series. And i also knew from the beginning that i hated harry's dad. now i hate him even more. anyways, i'm waiting anxiously for more!

God, Ron is a piece of shit. I hate cheaters. More than anything, really. I hope she did get Zabini to take him for all he's worth.
Response from ClayPotter (Author of Secret Recipe)
In my version of JRK's wizarding world, pureblood cheaters are commonplace. That doesn't make it right, but perhaps one can afford Ron a tiny bit of sympathy if he has been advised that it's "the thing to do" by several of his friends and relatives. Thanks so much for your enthusiasm for my story. I will try not to disappoint you.

I have to think that Snape will advise Hermione to leave that cheating manipulating piece of shit Ron. I want Hugo to be well I really do!

Lovely chapter! It's nice to see using him a computer without making a fool of himself, what seems to be so funny for some authors, and his entire being and living as you describe it seems rather lonely, on the one hand, but content and self-suficcient, too. He seems to have found his peace.
Author's Response: I would like to think that after years of doing what everyone else demanded of him, he would be happy doing things for himself for a change.
He does have Winky, and he speaks to the Muggle neighbors, so he is not a complete hermit. But some people need time to themselves to recharge their internal batteries. Others draw their energy from the people around them. Snape is the former.
Thanks for reading, and especially reviewing. The reviews keep me going.

Great story! Really enjoying it so far. Interesting touch to have Mr. Weasley suggest Ron find an 'outside interest'. It's refreshing to see him painted as something other than perfect. Very good Severus too. I love the conflict he's got over his feelings for Hermione. Hope you update soon.

The next chapter is in the queue, so you won't have to wait too long.I don't think Arthur would be the type to cheat on Molly even if he could have, because they always seemed to keep their love fires burning. But he also wouldn't begrudge his son a little fling on the side if the marriage had gone cold.I'm glad you like my version of Severus. I think time either turns people bitter or mellows them, depending on their circumstances and personality. I like to think that he would have mellowed. Thanks for reading and reviewing.
