Oh dear, those poor complicated beings buggered it again... if I didn't know all to well from personal experience how to achieve similar things, I'd ask how on earth someone could be standing so much in one's way. Well... *sigh* ;-) - it's good to know that they are in good hands with you and do have some chance!
Author's Response: Both Snape and Hermione can be their own worst enemy sometimes. Sooner or later they will figure this out, but we have quite a bit of UST to suffer through before they get to the other side. Hope you don't mind.
Thanks for your comments.
Alcina vom Steinsberg's response: Sorry for asking, but as a non-native speaker, I don't know what UST means. I don't mind letting FF characters suffer, though ;-) - provided they do get some comfort or even happiness in the end and are not left to suffer when the story ends *g*.
Author's Response: Sorry for using an abbreviation. I also didn't know what UST meant until someone else explained it to me, and English is my first language. UST = Unresolved Sexual Tension. I have also seen it refered to as URT (Unresolved Romantic Tension). Take your pick.
Hope this helps. :)
Alcina vom Steinsberg's response: Thanks a lot!
absolutely amazing. I love Snape and Hermione. Snape is adorable whether he wants to be or not. I can't wait to read more and see what happens next.

So glad you are enjoying the angst in my tale. The last thing Snape would want to be is adorable, but i agree with your assessment. LOL.

Oh brilliant! I love the Hogwarts idea, and it's so sweet that he's concerned their relationship will have on her custody issue. Good one!
Response from ClayPotter (Author of Secret Recipe)
He has good reason to be concerned, as you will soon see. Thanks for reading and leaving me a note. The comments mean a lot.

Well, that sucked! I hate it when he gets all down on himself! Poor Hermione, now she thinks he doesn't like her. I hope this will sort itself out soon.Excellent chapter!Livvy
Response from ClayPotter (Author of Secret Recipe)
There's a lot of sorting out to do yet. First they have to sort out Ron! But that will come to pass soon enough. Thanks for reading and leaving your comments.

poor duo. that was hard for both of them but it was the right thing. thanks so much for the delicious update and i await the next chapter semi-patiently.
Response from ClayPotter (Author of Secret Recipe)
The next chapter is with my beta, so it will depend on her RL commitments as to when I post it here. Thanks for your semi-patience. I love the little smiley singing in the rain. Wouldn't it be nice if we could always turn life's adversities into something fun like that?

I hate it when Snape tries to be honourable.
Response from ClayPotter (Author of Secret Recipe)
I read all that is posted so far of "The Godfather" yesterday, and he is not very honorable there in some ways, but in other ways he is. I love that story, as I said in my review. But my Snape is a bit of a prude. He selflessly gave his life to the cause for years, and I feel that he would continue to be selfless, but "the Godfather's" version is probably more accurate. For anyone who hasn't read it yet, I highly recommend it!Thanks,

Oh, I hope she manages to resolve her divorce soon. Ron needs to be dealt with. As do the other Weasley men, actually.
Response from ClayPotter (Author of Secret Recipe)
I'm not sure at the moment what might happen to the other Weasley men, but Ron will most certainly get what's coming to him. Thanks for leaving a note.

Well, this night didn't go exactly as planned. I did have the feeling that Hermione and Severus will be running circles around each other until one of them gives up. I hope things go well for Hermione in her divorce. I myself am divorced, and thankfully didn't have the same problems regarding custody since my ex was living in a different state and was unemployed. He also screwed himself when he wrote on paper that I could have custody of our daughter. So in a way I do understand Hermiones' troubles.
Response from ClayPotter (Author of Secret Recipe)
Hermione's troubles with regard to Ron will not last much longer, but her troubles as a Muggle-born are just beginning. And running circles around each other is a good analogy.Sorry that you can relate to Hermione's predicament, but I'm glad that it worked out in your favor.

Can we always call Ron "walnut brain"? I very much like that nickname.
Response from ClayPotter (Author of Secret Recipe)
Actually, in the next chapter, you will have some additional nicknames to pick from. But I'm rather fond of "walnut brain" as well. LOLThanks for readiing and leaving a comment.

That was a very decent thing for you to have Snape do, but I hope her situation with Ron improves or Snape abandons the high road. I think he would be good for her. Wonderful chapter.
Response from ClayPotter (Author of Secret Recipe)
Snape will indeed be good for Hermione, but only when the time is right. Thanks for reading and reviewing.

Silly, noble man. tell him to get a grip!
Response from ClayPotter (Author of Secret Recipe)
Have you ever seen the movie "Sense and Sensibility"? I have always pictured Snape to be just as uptight and prim and proper as the British society folks of that period. It is against his nature to throw caution to the wind and follow his heart, even if he really wants to. But take heart and be patient. You will get your wish... eventually.

Oh my! I've just spent the evening reading this, and it's fantastic! Totally getting emotional, especially with the pureblood getting custody! Totally messed up, but then it's definitely not surprising in the wizarding world! I'm really looking forward to the next chapter! Well done!Pyro

Tee hee... Gomez and Morticia? Did you get the names from The Addam's Family?I didn't put it past Ron to put a tracer on the stuffed Lizard... it is right up his alley. I do hope that Molly ends up helping Hermione, but I know that I have to wait and see. You have written such an excellent story that I will be anxiously awaiting to see where you go with it.
Response from ClayPotter (Author of Secret Recipe)
I'm so glad that you are reading and enthusiastically reviewing. The reviews like yours really encourage me to keep going.I did get the idea for the owls' names from the Addams Family. I thought it would be a nice touch, esp. since they are so affectionate towards each other and their owners. They will play a significant part as time goes by.And your wish will again come true about Molly. With a little persuasion, she will see reason long before her son does. Thanks for reading and reviewing.

Ron is such a bastard! He was the one who cheated and yet he expects the Hermione is just going to let him have her babies without a fight. He is delusional if he believes that. I knew that their marriage was going to shatter, but I don't think the worst is over yet. He is going to make things as bad for her as he can. With the way that Ron is behaving, I sincerely hope that he gets his in the end.
Response from ClayPotter (Author of Secret Recipe)
He will get his, but not the way you might think. And you right about another thing, the worst is not over yet.

*mini wave in celebration of you* Rita's going to get it, yes! I just knew Ron was cheating, the sleeze bag.

Rita will be miserable before this story is over.

I agree with Sev on this one, Ron and Hermione's marriage is going to go up in smoke. Ron and Hermione might have been ok early on, but she definately made a mistake when she took his name. I got to thinking... Ron seems awfully upset about Hermione having lunch with Sev, could it be that he overreacted because he has a guilty conscious?
Response from ClayPotter (Author of Secret Recipe)

*mouth hanging open in shock* Arthur has some nerve to encourage Ron to cheat! Geez. I understand why Hermione and Ron's relationship is on the rocks... interferring parents, manipulative husband. If I were Hermione, I would have left already. I also think that if Hermione and Ron split, he will do something evil... his little outburst at her parents home proved that. Great job on the chapter as always!
Response from ClayPotter (Author of Secret Recipe)
In my HP world, pure-bloods are a bit like the old aristocracy. They believe it is their right to have such extramarital affairs. Arthur never had the money to do it, but that doesn't mean that he never had the desire.

I hate that the public is raking him over the coals. Yeah, he may have killed Dumbledore and was a spy, but he did it for the right reasons. I think that those people refuse to see who he really is... but then again, that is normal; we see it everyday. I love how you put the message in the story: People see exactly what they want to see. Great job as always, dear!

People always grasp at anything to justify a wrong conclusion. It really is not fair, but in my story, Pensieve memories viewed by someone other than one of the original participants is considered hearsay and not admissable as evidence. Snape's conviction was a compromise. Some people felt that he should have been locked away forever, others thought he should have been set free. Thanks for the comments,
