Here is another quick review.I enjoyed your giving us the chance to follow Hermione's thoughts and logical leaps - puts some meat on 'Brightest Witch'.Ron is hilarious-- No, His new lady G. will not love H. sleeping over... I spluttered at those lines. I adore Christmas - timed stories, Hermione's search, yes, the more one just wants to give a kiss, 'but it not quite brewed yet' , the harder a substitute for the feeling can be. Her loud pounding, Brave woman! uhmmmm, the snuggle scene , if ever any couple deserved long periods of tenderness, they do. I'll wait patiently, ........

Hi
Response from ClayPotter (Author of Secret Recipe)
,Sorry it took so long to get back with you this time. I am very busy and often can only read reviews on my phone. Unfortunately, I cannot answer them on the phone. So I must wait until I have a quiet moment at home to turn on my computer. Such is the reason that I haven't written any more. I will finish the story, I promise. Much more has been written, but it needs to be polished and some of the sections need to be connected. I write my favorite scenes first and fill in the blanks later. Bad habit, I know, but I can't help myself.I'm so glad you have enjoyed my story so far. I hope the best is yet to come. Time will tell. Thank you for taking the time to review, and especially for your patience.
The Hogs Head scene had me in stitches. Those outrageous comments. .... and it was so nice, they had their too short moment of real tenderness, at last. Love has to have something to dream about. .sighI am fighting with myself Not to read everything at breakneck speed as if trying to win the Triple Crown riding Man O'War.. You know , some one should write " SS and HG Fanfiction's Best recipes ever--- Something to enjoy while waiting for your next favourite chapter " The descriptions of the dinners, picnics are tantalising, and now Severus is getting involved in a restaurant! I adore food, too, much, and that he has a sweet tooth.Thank you for this lovely yarn.Where can one buy good peach stationery online, for everyday use, not weddings.? I've been smitten with it.
Response from ClayPotter (Author of Secret Recipe)
I have no idea where to purchase peach stationary, but it must be available somewhere. If you search for peach and come up empty, try "salmon colored" instead. I know writing paper with matching envelopes comes in a rainbow of color choices. You just have to find the right web site. Good luck. Thanks again for reading and reviewing. It means a lot to me.

Wow, this is answered,as well. Thank you , sincerely.- and for the tip with the ststionery. Sounds promising.I am off to bake small cakes called 'Maids of Honour' a reciept wriitten down by those wonderful cooks ,The Two Fat Ladies.Happy Autumn.
Very late at night. This intriguing story popped up in the random section .I'm hooked. Snape is wonderfully, darkly self-sufficient and Hermione's love for her children shines through her exhaustion.I wonder, is the chamomille and rosehip scent a real one?If so, what is it called? It sounds lovely, light, natural and quietly fragrant.I chuckled at The Potions M's decisive idea of changing her scent. From one kind of controlling to another...., but he is much more lovable. Reading on.
Response from Yolande (Reviewer)
Hello again, Thank you very, very much for replying so swiftly.I'll try that tea .Celestial Seasonings is such a good brand. I am enjoying this story a lot, and I just wrote a long reply to your second to last chapter, which this laptop ate. Drat. The ambition to write about larger issues ,than just kissing, ( although I read them , too, happily, blush)is what I am delighted by here.,and I was struck by your reply to an earlier reviewer: Death eater/Mob boss,Severus Snape is definately grey-toned, He has saved so many cihildren and adults, and taken such cruelty by both black and white, ( and ,yes he has also been awful and cruel, yes) that I applauded Hermione's decision to stand by him , Parents have hearts as well as brains, and like Hermione teach tolerance, and changability, or ought to, and your tale is wonderful in giving ideas to speak to others about. Who knows when one self , or people near and dear, aren't thrust by life into morally grey-toned areas of life ?One can't just wish to consort with saints That would be a very small circle of people to love. It is written very well. Dream Lucius is giving me quiet shivers, and the absense of Lady Mac -Malfoy is like a power offstage.. pulling strings.

Greetings,
Response from ClayPotter (Author of Secret Recipe)
. Thank you for taking the time to review. The scent is from a couple of ingredients in an herb tea I used to drink. The chamomile has s soothing effect and the rose hips smell wonderful. It was made by Celestial Seasons. I dont' remember the name, but it was for calming down and relaxing. I know that doesn't sound very romantic, but my husband always has a calming effect on me (in a good way, like when I've had a bad day and just being near him helps me feel better), so that's what I went with. True, unconditional, lasting love isn't always about romance.I felt like, given more relaxed circumstances, Severus would mellow over time. But as you will see later, he still has a short temper and can be down-right mean if he wants to.I'm glad you are enjoying my little story.
Still really enjoying your story and eager for more. As always thanks for writing :)
Response from ClayPotter (Author of Secret Recipe)
Thanks so much. I'm still writing the next chapter, so please be patient.
19 years of pining? Well, he did pine for Lily for longer. But yeah, I don't understand the marriage of Ron and Hermione, and I never will.
Response from ClayPotter (Author of Secret Recipe)
I couldn't see Ron and Hermione together either, but I finally came up with a reason for her to end up with him. That will be revealed in the next chapter, so stay tuned.I don't think Snape pined for Hermione all this time, but I do think she was in the back of his mind, just a memory that sometimes brought on warm and fuzzy feelings, and sometimes made him angry. He wasn't angry at her so much as the circumstances he found himself in and regretful of the bad choices he had made over the years. Thanks so much,

And long may they be worse than Scorpius and Rosy! Hope they get the baddy soon so Severus can be exonerated.

That was was a very long and detailed dream. I wondered, if you wanted to end the story here?
Response from ClayPotter (Author of Secret Recipe)
Sounds like a nice place to end, doesn't it? But there is still so much to resolve. Who is the blackmailer? Will Severus be exonorated? Will he and Hermione ever get together for real?Stay tuned for all of the answers...
Ok this chapter is as wonderful as all the others, however, I must admit it does give me pause and a bit of worry. Hermione's dream is much like a detailed epilogue, so I wonder if things will not work out this well in her "real life". Like I said, it gives me pause and I hope that is all it ever does. I look forward to your next addition. Thanks for posting, JoAnne
Response from ClayPotter (Author of Secret Recipe)
Don't stress over the dreams, JoAnne. They are meant to put a smile on Hermione and Snape's faces in the morning. In fact, their dreams will probably become even more detailed as we go along. They are meant to be enjoyed. Thanks for taking the time to review. It means a lot.
If only dreams could come true. Great chapter.
Response from ClayPotter (Author of Secret Recipe)
Perhaps they can... Thanks,

I love the idea of Computer-using Snape. It fits nicely with his introverted recluse frame of mind. One thing though- the mind-controlling spell is the 'Imperius.' Imperious is the adjective; leave out the 'o' and it's the curse.Poor Hugo. As a child of divorced parents, I know I'd rather have them be separate and fairly happy than together and miserable. Interesting idea, then, that their household atmosphere could affect him so. Good start!

Hi
Response from ClayPotter (Author of Secret Recipe)
. Welcome to Secret Recipe. Thanks for catching the "Imperius" mistake. I'll go back and correct it.I'm glad you are liking it so far. Thanks for reading and reviewing.
I loved the Rose/Snape interaction. Sometimes as a parent it is easier and quicker to do something yourself than to let the kid learn how, but you have to let them try. So does Hermione know that spell?
Response from ClayPotter (Author of Secret Recipe)
I am constantly reminding myself that I must take the time to teach my kids, even though doing it myself would be easier and quicker.Hermione does not know that spell. it is not taught at Hogwarts. In the sixth HP book, Snape uses the spell on Draco in the bathroom scene. Of course, JKR doesn't go into detail, only that Snape sings to make it work. So I just built on that info and used my imagination.I'm glad you liked the chapter,

. Thanks for taking the time to review.
What a lovely dream. And I like the way Severus won Rose over.
Response from ClayPotter (Author of Secret Recipe)
Thanks. I wanted something suspenseful where she really had to prove herself under pressure, and he would somehow come through for her at the same time. This scenareo came to mind, and I thought it worked well. Glad you agree. Thanks for reading and reviewing.
Wow, what a great chapter! I thoght the scene with Severus and Rose was beautifully done and realistic to boot. I wondered how they were going to bond without getting mushy and out of character. This was fabulous! I hope her dream is at least somewhat indicative of the future...things turned out so well. Guess I'll have to stay tuned to find out.
Response from ClayPotter (Author of Secret Recipe)
His rocky road with Rose is not over, but they did get through one major hurdle. They at least like each other and respect each other now.So glad you liked it. Thanks for all the lovely stars.
Well, her fantasies are very detailed LOL!:)
Response from ClayPotter (Author of Secret Recipe)
Her fantasies continued on into her dream. I have some pretty realistic dreams once in a while, but usually they are bizzare and make no sense to me. Thanks for reading and reviewing.
Whoa--what a way to mend fences between Rose and Severus! I can certainly understand Hermione and Ron coming apart at the seams at the sight of Hugo's wound, though, and I'm sure Rose will understand too when one of her own children get injured someday. Nevertheless, Sev's ability to keep a somewhat more objective view allowed him to encourage Rose into success. Sneering all the way, of course! Will we ever get to see just how much of Hermione's dream of the future comes to pass? Maybe she's had a natural talent for Divination all these years and just never knew! There's a scary thought...Looking forward to see what happens with the Invisibility Cloak, and perhaps more House Elf shenanigans.
Response from ClayPotter (Author of Secret Recipe)
Ah, you must be prophetic as well. The Invisibility Cloak is actually for Winky as she helps Severus in his plot. That chapter will be coming up next, if all else goes as planned.I share your opinion of Ron and Hermione's reaction to the scary situation. I would have wigged out too, just like most parents. Snape's objective viewpoint, and his sense that she really did have the power to do it, kept him cool and in control.I will explain the dreams some day, but you have a while to wait, sorry. Just remember that the two are connected on a spiritual lever, although they don't realize it yet. Thanks so much for that wonderful review and all the lovely stars. :)
I love the way Snape made friends with Rose: scary but cool. I'm dreaming with Hermione about the day he won't have to leave.
Response from ClayPotter (Author of Secret Recipe)
The dream is not a steamy as some of the others, but it shows what the future may have in store for our favorite couple. This way I can also show what happens to other people in the future as well. Thanks for taking the time to review. :)
A very interesting first chapter. I usually prefer stories where Hermione never showed such lack of jugdement that she married Ron (totally hating that pairing), but at least you gave me the hope that she now, and for some time, have realised what a mistake it was and intend to dump him asap. (Please no scenes with skin-contact between Hermione and Ron, that would be so offputting:-)).I look forward to read more!
Response from ClayPotter (Author of Secret Recipe)
Thanks so much for your comments. We think alike. I never could see what she supposedly saw in Ron. But you will find out why she married him in the next chapter. And yes, she wants very much to be rid of him at this point.

what a delightful and fun update. loved severus' explaination of his patronus. by the by, would the plural of patronus be patroni? just wondering. thanks muchly

Hi
Response from ClayPotter (Author of Secret Recipe)
. I thought I had responded to this days ago, but there is no reply here, so...I'm glad you enjoyed the update. And I have no idea what the plural of patronus would be, but patroni rolls off the tongue much easier than patronuses, so I like your idea.
This story popped into my mind last night, and I thought I'd drop you a note to let you know that at least one reader is still thinking of it. I hope you are having success; I can't imagine how difficult it must be to write a mystery.
Response from ClayPotter (Author of Secret Recipe)
Hi Merrin! I have so much going on in RL right now that I have not been able to type much. But it has been on my mind. I have finished an outline to the end, so I know I won't contradict myself or write myself into a corner that I can't get out of. That in itself was very satisfying. But I've only managed to write two more of the estimated 10 chapters that I will need to finish the darn thing. Also, my big desk-top comupter with all my email addresses went down about a month ago. I can't load Outlook Express on my new lap-top, so I can't retrieve all those addresses. Could you please email me so I can have your email address again? That way, when I do have the story finished, I can send it to you for a look-over if you still have time. Thanks, ClayPotter
