Dolores is such a toad! Go get her, H&H! :)
Response from ClayPotter (Author of Secret Recipe)
Dolores will get what she deserves in the end. She is one character from the books that I really wanted to see die! She was right up there with Wormtail and Voldemort. I don't plan to kill her off, but something befitting her crime will happen.
Give into temptation damn it! Maybe once Umbridge is out the loop, they could give Severus a re-trial.
Response from ClayPotter (Author of Secret Recipe)
That is where I am headed with this, but it will take some time and effort to get there.
Happy to see the update. I can't imagine what she wants to discuss that she hasn't already talked to him about. He seems resolved they will never have a relationship. Just how persuasive can Hermione be? Hmm?
Response from ClayPotter (Author of Secret Recipe)
She wants to talk with him about helping her to build a case against Umbridge. Now that he has finished with his text book project, he has time on his hands. The idea of playing spy again will not be unpalatable to him...Thanks for sticking with me. I know when the chapters come so far apart, I will lose people along the way.
Response from Clairvoyant (Reviewer)
You will never lose this reader. I'm a sucker for a well-written SS/HG love story.
Can't wait to see what is in store for dear Delores. I can imagine a lot of people would be glad to get her.
Response from ClayPotter (Author of Secret Recipe)
Umbridge is such an obvious villan, but the fun will be in how they prove it, right?
I completly agree with the A/N for this chapter. Your story is really taken on wings and I am so happy to have found it!!! Waiting with bated breath for the next chapter!! Thank you for squeezing in some wonderful writing in your busy life,it is VERY appreciated! ~dee

Dang it Severus is right, but I hate it!!!
Response from ClayPotter (Author of Secret Recipe)
Severus is usually right, almost always in fact. The voice of reason - to the point I want to smack him sometimes. Hope this doesn't make you crazy, but more angst and URST to come.

My stomach actually lurched during this chapter....Ron and Lavender remind me so much of my ex-husband and my ex-best friend, gag!! Very well written!
Response from ClayPotter (Author of Secret Recipe)
Sorry to hear that this chapter hit so close to the mark. I am happily married, but I see what many of my friends have suffered through. So hard. And the children get caught up in the middle of it all and usually tend to blame themselves even if they have nothing to do with it.

Great chapter!! Love your Snape, knowing that he is still snarky but able to control it and then let it loose when needed is awesome!
Response from ClayPotter (Author of Secret Recipe)
JK Rowling would probably say I write him too nice, but I like to think he has mellowed over the years, esp. without the pressure he had been under before.

They don't call her the brightest witch of her age for nothing. Although since this Snape doesn't realize that Harry had the book, I can see where he'd be surprised that Hermione picked up on it as quickly as she did.Looking forward to the next chapter. =)
Response from ClayPotter (Author of Secret Recipe)
Actually, this Snape does realize that Harry had the book. He just didn't realize that, after over 20 years, anyone would remember what whad been written in its margins, esp. Hermione, since it wasn't even her book.I'm glad you are enjoying my story. Thanks so much for leaving a review. :)
Response from RhiannonAvon (Reviewer)
Ah, thanks for the clarification, didn't read that closely enough.
Someone is USING the toad, hoping for exactly the research Hermione is doing to frame her... quaint. Of course, there will be several groups not wanting her for Minister. They didn't expect Severus' more sneaky approach, though. Serves them right. Did we already meet those who pull the strings? Would it help me if I started reading from the start? It's great that Hermione can have such a reasonable conversation and relationship with Ron. Sadly, most divorced couples would probably find your approach overly optimistic.
Response from ClayPotter (Author of Secret Recipe)
I commend you for being so perceptive,
Response from ClayPotter (Author of Secret Recipe)
. Someone may very well be pulling the toad's strings - or jerking her chain! You will simply have to keep reading to find out for sure. I can't say anything more for fear of exposing too much. Please excuse the tardiness of this reply. If you read my response to just harry, you'll understand my predicament. Thanks for sticking with me.

Juggling two jobs, that's nasty indeed. Just post whenever you have time and the muse kicks you. We'll be around! If people really leave your story because of H talking to Ron in a civilised way, well ... it's their loss.

Glad to see a new chapter in this story! I do hope that when (not if, when!) Severus is fully exonerated and has his very own Order of Merlin, First Class that he can tell the world the truth and place his own name on that new Potions textbook. Although Draco would probably want some of his money back if he did...Poor Ron... despite the fact that he was a total prat to Hermione, I really feel for the pickle he's gotten himself into with Lavender. He's not a bad person, just immature. Perhaps he can pose for a centerfold in Witch Weekly and prove to the wizarding world that he doesn't have a teeny weenie! Enjoyed, as usual-- and I hope the next chapter will be soon. Thanks for such a great story!
Response from ClayPotter (Author of Secret Recipe)
You're right - Draco would most definitely want his ten thousand Galleons back! But Snape will take that secret to his grave. He has his reasons for that decision, as you will find out in a later chapter.Poor Ron indeed. I had so many comments about what should happen to Ron for his behaviour, but I thought that this was the best way for him to learn his lesson. He was hurt and humiliated in public, just as he did to Hermione.Ron will find someone someday who will love him for "him" no matter what size his weenie is. Imagine her pleasant surprise when she finds out the truth!
You are right they should be friends , for everyones sake. Loved the dream it was very informative about what Sev & Hermione see for themselves in the futher.

Hi
Response from ClayPotter (Author of Secret Recipe)
. So sorry it took this long to respond. I am currently working two part time jobs, so I'm either working or driving to and from one of the two. It's crazy! And I check my email with my phone, but I can't answer reviews from it.I'm glad you are OK with Hermione and Ron as friends. I haven't gotten many reviews for this chapter. I have a feeling that most people do not share your sentiment. Oh well... You can't please all of the people all of the time. I chose to stay true to what I thought should happen. It's my story after all. I just hope I don't lose too many readers because of my choice. Thanks for sticking with me.

Clever, clever Hermione! I can imagine the fear of Severus going with this discovery only too well, though.
Poor Ron, by the way. I don't know - wouldn't his being treated this way perhaps make him change his intentions towards Hermione? If he can't have another woman, why not try it again with her?
And that dream.... lovely! :o)
Author's Response: I'm glad you liked the dream sequence. It was fun to write.
As for Ron, he knows he blew it with Hermione. He might make a couple of feeble attempts to get her back, but he will no longer have the advantage of the spells from the "Twelve Fail-Safe Ways to Charm Witches" book, so he knows deep down that he doesn't really stand a chance. He does lover her, though. So he won't stand in the way of her happiness.
ahh... lovely and heartbreaking all at the same time! Now... Hermione should leave her job and help Severus with the potions and they can both live together on the proceeds of his book!
Response from ClayPotter (Author of Secret Recipe)
If the book sells and becomes a success, I'm sure that idea will cross both of their minds. But that would be too easy. I want him totally exonorated with an Order of Merlin, 1st class! It's what he deserves, after all.
Oh, I hope that the problematic situation will be resolved, soon...
Response from ClayPotter (Author of Secret Recipe)
The problems multiply before they are resolved. Sorry. But be patient, this is a romance, and I love happy endings.
I like where Severus's dreams led him. Lets hope in this case that dreams do come true.
Response from ClayPotter (Author of Secret Recipe)
Dreams can be prophetic (hint, hint). Thanks for taking the time to review.
Ha, Ron probably does have a teeny weenie... Can't wait for the next chapter! loved this one!
Response from ClayPotter (Author of Secret Recipe)
Hermione tells Snape as she is leaving that the rumor is not true, but you can believe what you like, since we will never find out for sure (at least not in this story).I'm so glad you enjoyed it. Thanks for reviewing.
I feel so bad for them. I want them together. Good for Lavender, by the way. Ron is an idiot.
Response from ClayPotter (Author of Secret Recipe)
Take heart, eventually they will end up together. The fun is in the journey.
I adored Hermione eves dropping on Draco. He thinks he is so superior! ha! Tricking the young Malfoy is such fun isnt it?
Response from ClayPotter (Author of Secret Recipe)
Two of my favorite scenes from the movies are Malfoy as a ferret in GoF and when Hermione punches him in the face in PoA. He's such an easy target. LOLThanks for reading and reviewing.
great that you're back, and with such a nice chapter, too!!
Response from ClayPotter (Author of Secret Recipe)
Thanks so much. I'm glad you enjoyed it. :)
Won't someone else connect Snape to the book? What about the other potions masters? Are you ever going to let them get together? I don't see them being able to resist for long, but maybe.
Response from ClayPotter (Author of Secret Recipe)
Since Ron's memory isn't good enough to remember something that he hasn't seen in 20 years, and he probably didn't pay that much attention to Harry's "Half-Blood Prince" book in the first place, only Harry and Hermione would be in a position of recognizing the changes in the new books.Snape was so secretive that he probably never shared his tweeking methods with anyone but Lily, and she died long ago. And Slughorn may have seen the results of his changes, but he probably didn't pay enough attention to know what he actually did. Then there's the fact that the book was destroyed during the final battle...As for the two of them getting together... Be patient, it will eventually happen. I promise. Just a few more hurdles to go.
I am so in love with this story! I love Lavender's revenge against "Walnut-Brain"! And I'm also glad that Hermione is in on the secret. So glad that the HBP's clever modifications will be able to see the light of day.I am eager for the next update, but I do understand about RL "getting in the way". Cheers.
Response from ClayPotter (Author of Secret Recipe)
So glad you are enjoying my story,
Response from ClayPotter (Author of Secret Recipe)
. I feel that Snape's skill at Potions so vastly improved the results that it was only a matter of time before he wrote his own version of the textbooks.I will do my best to post a bit faster next time, but I still can't make any promises.
Well thanks for the lemony-dream, at least!!! =] I love Lavender's revenge. Rather fitting. I'm pleased that she's now in on the author game, that will make things better. I love the story, but look forward to the day when they're really snogging on their honeymoon!!!!
Response from ClayPotter (Author of Secret Recipe)
They will snogg themselves silly for real someday, but that day is still pretty far off. Sorry.
