I live in Virginia with my husband and 2 children. I make pottery, but, thanks to Harry Potter, I have rediscovered a passion for writing.

I enjoyed this story. I've not been reading a lot of HP fiction lately, but this story is interesting and I want to follow it!Thank you for writing it...Oh - finally - I didn't like Ron's character after book 3 that much, and you are keeping him nicely in character - I didn't think a smart girl like Hermione would find much of interest in Ron after the teen years... snarky as he is, Snape is more of the intelligence level i'd think she'd want long term.

Hi
Response from ClayPotter (Author of Secret Recipe)
, and thanks for reading and reviewing.I couldn't agree more with your assessment of Ron, Hermione and Snape. In real life she would never have been satisfied with him, and usually men like him would be too intimidated by a woman with her intelligence to feel comfortable as her boyfriend, much less her husband. Thanks for following my little yarn. I will try to hold your interest.ClayPotter

Besides killing off Sirius, Snape and Lupin, pairing Hermione up with Ron at the end of the HP series was one of the few missteps I felt JKR made in the HP series - I was not happy with the outcome - but it's her world, and it's canon... What you said is what would have REALLY happened in the real world. Ron is not stupid, but Hermione is head and shoulders more intelligent - she needs someone equally bright, and frankly *Harry* was a better choice than Ron. Heck - *Neville* was better.I'll be watching now - don't worry.
What a great chapter! I'm glad Severus knows about Hermione's feelings now. Give Viktor some credit - at least he provided the opportunity for noble action...
Response from ClayPotter (Author of Secret Recipe)
Viktor will play an important role in more ways than one...Thanks for sticking with the story. I'm so glad you like it.
Yes!! This is what I love... more, please...
Response from ClayPotter (Author of Secret Recipe)
Glad you like it. More coming soon. :)
Oh, you sure had me for a minute but your story surprised me again...no surprise in that hihihi. I love a knight in shining armour even if Severus' is black. I think that Otto S. will give the plot another turning and maybe Rita S. is not just your usual stupid bimbo, sigh. I guess the number of chapters involved has grown a lot but it's better this way: more of your good writing for me^_^. Viktor is a bit of a pillok even if his inteligence is as low as ever...what is it with Hermione and stupid men? First Viktor and then Ron...I used to think she was clever but if so, why lower herself with those idiots? Even Malfoy is better then them (and I hate DM/HG with all my heart!). Anyway your Winky is becoming more sarcastic by the minute and I love it..an house elf with spunk!Hope you'll find her a little boyfriend so that we'll see some mini-Winky dealing with Severus ha ha ha (sorry, post-traumatic stress from my exams muhahahahasobsob). Well, that's all folks, but please update again...tomorrow?Thanks :P
Response from ClayPotter (Author of Secret Recipe)
Thanks for your insightful review. Winky is too old to create little house-elves, but she and Tolkey (the Malfoy house-elf, Dobby's brother) are rather fond of each other. And you are one of the few who has picked up on the new direction this story is about to go in... Otto S. and Rita, along with a few others, will play a vital role as we move on. Rita has a few tricks up her sleve that will surprise even Snape!I have a lot on my plate in RL right now. Will update as soon as possible. Hang in there!
Thank you so much for the update. I hope Severus really understands what an idiot he was for leaving Hermione behind? If not, please smack his head for me:-))
Response from ClayPotter (Author of Secret Recipe)
He never dreamed that Viktor would do such a thing, especially to his old friend, Hermione. But people change over time. Snape has changed for the better. Viktor perhaps went in the other direction.
awesome chapter thank you for the update.too bad victor couldn't remember hermione isn't most women.she doesn't like bragging about anything except her kids.
Response from ClayPotter (Author of Secret Recipe)
Yes, Hermione is rather humble for an "insufferable knot-it-all."Glad you liked the chapter. Thanks for all of the stars.
happy 'ren ri' (people's birthday!) from Singapore! :)) all chinese all over the world celebrate new beginnings on the 7th day of the lunar new year! so i'm here reading your story, and it's still unfinished.... i still read WIPs if they are substantial enough. at least this ain't abandoned! :)) why not use pencil or pen on a writing paper and scribble whilst having a body massage or waiting for traffic lights in a car? :))
Response from ClayPotter (Author of Secret Recipe)
. Thanks so much for reading and reviewing. I want to finish my story, but as you must have read in my review answers, I don't have much time any more for such things. A body massage sounds wonderful, but I haven't had one in almost twenty years! I am also the type of writer that needs a good couple of hours to get any writing done. I can't work in small spurts like at a traffic light. I have thought about bringing my laptop for the communte, but I get car sick. We take long curving back roads to work. It's the only way to get anywhere from where I live. Still, I might try it sometime because I can still type without looking at the screen or keyboard. I can always correct any typos later. Most of the story is in my head. I just have to type it out. Be patient with me. I promise I'll finish it some day.

Hello
Of course you end it there! Darn cliffhangers!Well, I'm also glad that Snape didn't bring her along with him to try and get her together with Victor. I'm not sure I understand why he brought her along in the first place unless he was trying to see if she'd take off with the first man she saw. It would certainly tell Snape what he needed to know about himself and Hermione!Looking forward to the next update!
Response from ClayPotter (Author of Secret Recipe)
He brought her along for several reasons. He wanted to spend time with her away from her children. He wanted to expand her circle of friends to include someone else who had suffered a divorce (a rarity in the wizarding world), and he wanted to see if there were any burning embers left in her heart for Viktor. But he got more than he bargained for. Now he knows that she only wants to be with him (Snape), he was torn up inside at the thought of her with another man, and Viktor is an egotistical moron who can't be trusted alone with a woman.Viktor is still the best literary agent in the business, however, and Snape needs him. So Winky wouldn't let Snape do him bodily harm. Wise little elf, indeed.Just a warning. I like to write cliffhangers, and I LOVE UST.
Winky should have let him remove his testicles!I hope what Winky told Severus sinks in and he realizes that Hermione already knows her own mind and heart.
Response from ClayPotter (Author of Secret Recipe)
Ah yes, but we will have to put up with Snape's desire to be noble for a while longer, I'm afraid...Thanks for reading and reviewing. I love the reviews.
Winky is my hero! :)
Response from ClayPotter (Author of Secret Recipe)
Isn't Winky awesome!? As you know, she's quite the life saver in my other story too.
Viktor deserved worse than that.
Response from ClayPotter (Author of Secret Recipe)
Excessive alcohol + big ego = stupid. Actually, excessive alcohol + anything (or nothing at all) usually = stupid. Viktor is not so bad, as you will see in due time. Thanks for the review, and all of those pretty stars!
Nicely done:)I'm thoroughly enjoying this story:)Warm regards,Fizzabella

i love winky! victor is just a total neanderthal "Unibrow!" at first i thot severus was trying to set them up...but apparently no. great update. you rock! this story rocks! thanks so much (me blowing kisses)
Response from ClayPotter (Author of Secret Recipe)
I love Winky, too! Viktor has spent too many years in the lime-light. Alan Rickman has succeeded at remaining humble, but most people don't. It's a shame, but fame effects people, and usually not for the better.I'm so glad you like my story. Thanks.
I'm glad Viktor was an agent for his book... At the end of last chapter I was afraid that Severus, since he didn't feel worthy of her, was going to make a matchmaking attempt. Glad he wasn't trying to set her up with Mr. Unibrow, but hope his threatening Krum standing up for her doesn't interfere with his business plans. Viktor seems to have forgotten that Hermione never was impressed by his "Quidditch Star" status. Really enjoying this! Looking forward to the next.
Response from ClayPotter (Author of Secret Recipe)
Snape wanted to expand her circle of friends. He had seen Viktor's marriage woes dragged through the papers and knew that they had things in common that he had no clue about. Snape also knew that it was a gamble, that they might rekindle the old flame, but he felt that that would have been better for her, too. He would have hated it but tolerated it for her sake.
Silly Victor!I'm glad Severus know's how Hermione feels now, and I do hope she lets him in. Look forward to more.

Response from ClayPotter (Author of Secret Recipe)
Ah, but letting him in would be too easy...
Response from Nessa (Reviewer)
Hmm. Perhaps your right, nice bulid of tension would go down a treat..
Oh, Snape is coming to her rescue again!
Response from ClayPotter (Author of Secret Recipe)
And again, and again...
Damn, Viktor has definitely changed and not for the better. He's quite lucky that Hermione didn't hex his testicles off herself, nevermind Severus! Yeowch. And he can safely bet that Severus will permit Viktor to be anywhere near Hermione after that. The only positive thing here is that now Severus knows in no uncertain terms that Hermione wants him and no one else. Although I don't doubt she's pretty unhappy with him right now. I hope he's well ready to be explaining himself, that's the only way he'll stand a decent chance of fixing the mess he did a fine job of creating in the first place.Great update, I look forward to the next!

Thanks for the great review,

. I'm glad you are enjoying my little jaunt into Fanfiction. Yes, Viktor is lucky that Hermione only hit him with a "Jelly-Legs Jinx!" She would have been justified, IMO, to harm him greatly. But after being married to Ron, she knows what jerks men can be when the wine flows too freely. You'll find out later that Viktor is not all that bad. Sorry I can't say more. Don't want to spoil anything.
I thought for sure SEverus had included Hermione in the trip to Bulgaria because he wanted to show her that she could have any man she wanted. You know kind of a selfless move on his part. I can certainly see how the situation looked to Hermione. No wonder the poor girl was confused. Men! I adore Winky!!
Response from ClayPotter (Author of Secret Recipe)
Snape was being selfless. He also wanted to help her find a new/old friend. I think, deep down, he didn't want her to get romantically involved with Viktor, but he didn't realized just how bad that would feel until he was presented with the very real possibility that it was happening! He knows better than to play match-maker for her now!
So are these two going to get back on the same page? And the part about the blackmailer, I'm looking forward to more on that.
Response from ClayPotter (Author of Secret Recipe)
Thanks for all the stars,
Response from ClayPotter (Author of Secret Recipe)
. The blackmail subplot will come into the forefront in the coming chapters. It is an integral part of our story. And Snape and Hermione do eventually end up on the same page, but it does take a while. Sorry for all the frustration.
That was brilliant. I nearly laughed myself off the chair at Snape's threats to Krum. "Say good-bye to the boys downstairs" usually insures cooperation. I want Severus and Hermione to work things out and get together but then the story will be over. I don't suppose you'd keep writing until we know who their grandchildren marry, and what careers they all choose? *grins hopefully* I'm kidding, but I do love this story!
Response from ClayPotter (Author of Secret Recipe)
You'll be glad to know that the story is far from over! Our duo has quite a bit of "working out" to do.So glad you love the story. Thanks so much for reading and reviewing.
oooh, that nasty umbridge. BLEH. Have to admit, during the Harry Potter Exhibition one of my favorite things was seeing all the umbridge stuff from the movies. The costumes! LOL. Of course I had to take a VERY close look at all the Snape stuff. Beautiful.
Response from ClayPotter (Author of Secret Recipe)
I read in an interview once with Daniel Radcliff that during the filming of HP#5, he and Emelda Stanton got along really well. She took him under her wing and gave him all kinds of acting advice. He said she was really nice - not at all like the character she played. Somewhere along the line I recall him saying that Alan Rickman was very much UNlike Snape as well. Laid back, easy going, very nice. Where was the HP Exhibition?
Response from mimmom (Reviewer)
The HP Exibition is a traveling exhibition. It was in Boston when I saw it. All the costumes and some of the props and a statue of that Creevy kid who got frozen by the basilisk. There's a full sized hippogriff figure/statue thing. Lucius Malfoy's costume for the big Quidditch thing in Goblet of Fire is BEAUTIFUL. The costumes are close enough to touch, but you're not supposed to touch them. So I didn't but that didn't stop me from examining Snape's buttons from inches away. ROFL I don't think I can put links in my reviews but you can google harry potter exhibition and probably find it. I loved it so much!

Is Ron just thick, or completely emotionally insensitive? He completely missed why Severus described hermione so eloquently. Someone needs to shake him!
Response from ClayPotter (Author of Secret Recipe)
I believe that in one of the books (and for sure in one of the movies) Hermione accused Ron of having the sensitivity of a teaspoon. I don't think that shaking him would do any good. He's hopeless.
An absolutely excellent story. I really can't see a way out of this problem apart from engineering a convenient accident for the penultimate Weasley.
Response from ClayPotter (Author of Secret Recipe)
Let us hope that the clueless git comes to his senses so I don't have to kill him off. I hate violence. Thanks for your kind words of praise.
Oooh, that Umbridge...I hope they can make a case!
Response from ClayPotter (Author of Secret Recipe)
Umbridge is as infuriating as Rita Skeeter!
