Jumped on the Harry Potter bandwagon in 2000 (when Goblet of Fire was out in hardback). Prisoner of Azkaban is my favourite in the series, followed by Order of the Phoenix. I read and write in the SS/HG corner of the Potterverse.

I hope their plan works. Looking forward to reading more.
Response from ayerf (Author of Polyandry and Other Problems)
Hopefully it will...More coming very soon: within a few minutes.
Hopefully the Ministry will be too busy to pay much attention to the coincidence of all three being infertile. :)
Response from ayerf (Author of Polyandry and Other Problems)
Hopefully... we shall see!We shall see when I've posted this reply - I'm about to upload the next chapter.
I had tears in my eyes at The Welcome Wizard (the witch had been a plague victim) I know its a throw away line but it made me remember all the women who are lost. Then Snape willing to become sterile in order to stay with Hermione. I cried ! Ayerf what you done to me???
Response from ayerf (Author of Polyandry and Other Problems)
Wow. I hoped it would be powerful, but to touch you in this way? That's quite a compliment!*hugs, offers tissue*I've started to write the next chapter. Hopefully I'll be able to get it off to my betas before March arrives.
Well I guess this is better than the governemt divorcing them. I still feel awful for Hermione. That kind of news must be heartbreaking. I hope Severus' potion works for them. Please update again soon. Cheers! ~Brena
Response from ayerf (Author of Polyandry and Other Problems)
Yes, it's certainly not a pleasant situation for them even if it's not the worst case scenario.I hope to have finished the next chapter before March, real life allowing!
Crap, I hate being right. This is so sad. My husband and I are talking about having kids and I'm so afraid something like this is going to end up happening to me. It awesome to see her go to her mum. I know I'd do the same thing. I hope she finds a way to keep Severus after all. Cheers ~ Brena
Response from ayerf (Author of Polyandry and Other Problems)
It is sad. Hopefully it won't happen! Fingers crossed.Thank you! I think it's what I'd do too.
Oh no. Oh crap. I hope this doesn't mean she's infirtile afterall! How Sad! I'm so happy to see this story updating again and I'm sorry its taken me so long to catch back up. So I'm off to read Chapter 16. Cheers ~ Brena
Response from ayerf (Author of Polyandry and Other Problems)
You're along the right lines...Thanks for reviewing!
that's our brillient potions master! great update. thanks so much
Response from ayerf (Author of Polyandry and Other Problems)
He did his best! Thank you, I'm glad to hear it!
'Polyandry AND OTHER PROBLEMS' indeed! Poor Hermione. But isn't Severus giving up too soon? Should he not at least get some more info before deciding that he can do nothing? And shouldn't Lucius be consulted about the whole thing? After all, he is her husband, too. First they are relieved that they can get rid of him because of this, and as soon as they remind themselves that this means another husband, they decide for him that he should become infertile so that he can stay with them, since he is the 'devil they do know'. Maybe he doesn't want to become infertile! They should at least be polite enough to ask his opinion.I think Hermione is rather unkind to Lucius. As her husband, her predicament does concern him. It's understandable that she wanted to talk to Severus first about this, but there was no need to reject Lucius so bluntly when he was trying to be nice to her.
Response from ayerf (Author of Polyandry and Other Problems)
I certainly had my reasons for picking the title!Severus hasn't entirely given up. But he certainly does not want to raise Hermione's hopes only to crush them later. It is highly unlikely that he will be able to help, though. As for Lucius, it will be his choice whether or not to take the potion. They're not about to force-feed him or slip it into his food.It may have been unkind, but at the moment Hermione is all too human. In the process of trying to be nice, Lucius happened to inadvertently widen a rather nasty emotional wound. Based on canon evidence, Hermione has a tendency to lash out when angry and upset. Thanks for reviewing.
I was hopeful for a moment that Severus could fix anything. Now it appears there will be three sterile people in the marriage. Lucius had an interesting thought: ". . . he had done far more than just look when Narcissa was still alive." Does this mean he and Hermione had an affair and she just cannot remember?
Response from ayerf (Author of Polyandry and Other Problems)
He's good, but he's not that good!Er. No. He was referring to the women he'd flaunted in front of Severus: his mistresses. Before the plague, Hermione was with Ron. She was possibly attracted to Severus, but did not act on it: she's faithful.
There is no words to express mu sorrow for her. Can't Severus really create any potion to help her?
Response from ayerf (Author of Polyandry and Other Problems)
Words are hard to find for such misery. He can try, but he certainly won't risk any false hopes. Thanks for reviewing!
Better the devil we know, indeed.Hermione's pain was so well-written and heart-felt - both her reaction to Lucius and Severus.Well plotted. I'm glad Severus was able to come up with a solution.
Response from ayerf (Author of Polyandry and Other Problems)
Indeed!Thank you! I did my best. Glad to hear it!
excellent chapter.hopefully the wizen what there names are will believe it.i guess they could use i was a deatheather and old voldmort curcio'd us so much that it left us old men sterile.could work.hopefully no one detects the potion.waiting for more.
Response from ayerf (Author of Polyandry and Other Problems)
Thank you!Hopefully indeed! That is an interesting theory, one I'll try to cover.More is being written, if a little more gradually than I'd like!
HOLY WOW.WOW.
Response from ayerf (Author of Polyandry and Other Problems)
Thank you very much!
Absolutely worth waiting for. While I am glad that Lucius does develope feelings for Hermione, no matter if he wants to admit it fully or not, I am most pleased to what lengths Severus are willing to go to keep them together. And, he is completely rigth, they could easily get someone a lot worse to deal with than Lucius with regards to being a threesome. I look forward to read more!!
Response from ayerf (Author of Polyandry and Other Problems)
Thank you! I'm very glad to hear it. More is gradually being written - I wish I could write faster!
This chapter was definitely worth waiting for. Great twist!
Response from ayerf (Author of Polyandry and Other Problems)
Thank you! I'm very glad to hear it!
Interesting solution. I hope they pull it off.
Response from ayerf (Author of Polyandry and Other Problems)
Thank you! Hopefully they will...
Sneaky. But good thinking! :)
Response from ayerf (Author of Polyandry and Other Problems)
Thank you! Hopefully it'll be sneaky enough.
WOW!!!! What a chappie! I can not wait for the next one! Will Lucius take this, will Severus reverse his when he has had his time and children with Hermione?????? these questions and many more, like will the Potters accept Draco, will be answreed in one of the further episodes?thanks ever so much for writing,Huanita
Response from ayerf (Author of Polyandry and Other Problems)
Thank you! I'm delighted to hear it!I certainly hope to answer those questions in time...
Hmmm I wonder how Lucius is going to feel about the drowning of his "little swimmers"... but he does have Draco so perhaps he will not mind. As Severus said, "better the devil you know"
Response from ayerf (Author of Polyandry and Other Problems)
He certainly shouldn't mind as much as he would if he had no heir... but as this is Lucius, taking it with no fuss is unlikely to be an option!Thank you for reviewing!
ah! but our two there will do away with lucius and run off to jamaica, where they're safe and lucius free ^.^hmm......LETS LOCK LUCI IN A BOX! and feed him to scarab beetles...because he's wicked and needs taught a good lesson in morality and ethics and...and...table waiting! o.o in a texas diner...o.o
Response from ayerf (Author of Polyandry and Other Problems)
Unfortunately Lucius comes as part of the package. He has his uses, especially when it comes to financing things. Thanks for commenting.
Response from keske (Reviewer)
yeeeah...money is kinda important....maybe hermione can slap him and tell him he's a cad and then ignore him for a month...and leave twinkies in his bed....or just generally be irritated with him?i feel summery...lets be summery!
Great update! I'm sad for Hermione not being able to have a baby. Maybe Severus will be able to do something in the future? Hope we don't have to wait long for an update.
Response from ayerf (Author of Polyandry and Other Problems)
Thank you! He might try, but he certainly doesn't want to raise any false hopes. I have started writing the next chapter, but unfortunately real life does get in the way! I hope to post it within a month. Hopefully sooner.
meeps! will they tell Lucius, or just give him the potion? no such thing as a surrogate witch in the wizarding world? what was the 'malicious glint' that Lucius gave Severus? wicked git! well, Hermione is still living proof that her mother overcame her own problems once, so I wonder that they don't try a little harder, maybe give Hermione the Muggle injections to cause her body to be more receptive to a pregnancy. I will be waiting eagerly for your next chapter - I know you'll surprise us all!
Response from June W (Reviewer)
PS - Quick, a compliment to get him out of hot water, it had always worked with Narcissa … “A body like yours is made for breeding.”snert! oh, such a charmer... with 'compliments' like that, no wonder Lucius failed to marry again without a law.
Response from ayerf (Author of Polyandry and Other Problems)
We shall see!As for that malicious glint, either Severus was seeing things, or Lucius was up to no good. I suspect a bit of both.Heh! Yes, Lucius could do with polishing his tact.
I did NOT see that one coming at all. Oh and poor Lucius. There's a sentence I'd didn't think would ever come from me. I really hope that the MoM doesn't muck up their marriage! Wonderful as always.
Response from ayerf (Author of Polyandry and Other Problems)
Glad to hear it! It's good to know that I can still surprise readers.Hopefully... Thank you!
How sad, Hermione may not to have wanted children at this time but to be told she can never have children must have been a blow. Of course my Dr. told me I was infertile and I have two boys. Go figure.
Response from ayerf (Author of Polyandry and Other Problems)
Indeed, poor Hermione. I'm glad to hear it was different for you!
I think that the three of them could all justify sterility, especially Severus and Lucius - damage done by repeat exposure to the Cruciatus comes to mind.It would be nice if Hermione were able to beat the odds and produce a child eventually, when she was ready to, instead of on Ministry orders.I'm curious. Will many of the women that suffered the plague also find their reproductive systems damaged as well, making the marrige law useless? It seems like this would be a likely outcome - diseases like that rarely have just one nasty side-effect.Nice update. Sitting on the edge of my seat waiting to see where you take this.
Response from ayerf (Author of Polyandry and Other Problems)
It's an interesting theory, one I intend to touch on.Absolutely...That is a scary scenario!Thank you! The next chapter is in progress.
