Hermione, Ginny and Luna, sharing a girl moment, decide to cast a Pairing-Plight Troth Charm on themselves for fun. Each placed in the cauldron one yesterday-today-and-tomorrow flower with sugar and spice and everything nice, and a snip, a snail and puppy-dog tail as they each said the rhyme. For Ginny, the results are exactly what she expected, and for Luna, she was only mildly surprised. However, for Hermione, the results were disastrous! I love to write. A dreamer, a creator and filled with wonder, imagination and life. Sometimes I get lost in the other worlds I've read and in some I create. It's all good, I’m in good company.

“Imagination does not become great until human beings, given the courage and the strength, use it to create.”― Maria Montessori
“Our imagination flies -- we are its shadow on the earth.”― Vladimir Nabokov
“Imagination is everything. It is the preview of life's coming attractions.”― Albert Einstein

“Imagination will often carry us to worlds that never were, but without it we go nowhere.” ― Carl Sagan

I believe Talfryn Prince will be touched by his Christmas gift of the quaiche. It conveys great meaning without being ostentatious in the least.Hermione's début at the Moncrieff’s ball went well and we again meet Mr. Byron Ingoldsby. I have a feeling we haven't seen the last of this gentleman.I hope the peace that was made between Lucius and Hermione will lead to more amiable relations. Not only for Severus' sake but for Draco's as well. The attack that happened in Hogsmeade was a real surprise. Thank goodness that everything turned out okay. Miss Maggie's tragic past and her reaction to the attack made me wonder about her behavior at the Ministry. I think I better understand how she might have sought to align herself with people who might be able to provide her with a bit of cover and influence. I don't agree with her behavior toward Hermione and Severus, but such a horrible childhood would be bound to leave it's mark.I wonder if Mr. Ingoldsby was "the one that got away?"And last but certainly not least, I highly approve of the direction Hermione's and Severus' relationship is taking. I liked that she initiated that moment of romance before he had to tear himself away to finish his parchmentwork (I love that term). Beth

Yes will be, you’re right: nice thought, nice sentiment and not over the top or flashy.

Yes, the début went well. Mr Ingoldsby – yes you did and yes you will see him agian. No, he’s not a Death Eater, but he’s posh.

The attack on Hogsmeade – did you forget that not all the Death Eaters have been apprehended? Well, okay, this was a reminder that there are a few out there and some have a grudge against Severus and Hermione.

I’m really pleased that you like the way the relationship is headed. It sure took a lot to get them here.

Thank you for reading and for the review, Beth. Hugs, sweetie.

Why is Severus bwing so insenstive about Malfoy Manor? While I do believe that the Malfoys' mean her no harm, she was tortured there....

Response from beaweasley2 (Author of The Plight-Trothed Bride)

I think he believes that if she goes and the Malfoys are nice to her she will let the past go and accept his friends. (And he has so few friends) But then she is pushy in regards to Harry, so in a way it's even. Facing ones fears, getting over the past and realizing that they(the Malfoys) have changed will be a big step for Hermione. Thank you for reading and for the review.

How can people eat that much on a dinner? And they're getting married!! *happy dance*

Response from beaweasley2 (Author of The Plight-Trothed Bride)

I bet Severus was thinking the same thing! But I got the menues off the internet and it was what some place were serving for Christmas dinners. Loads of food, I know! Yes, he asked and she said yes. Thank you for reading and for the review.

Response from snitchette (Reviewer)

You call that asking? “You are going to marry the witch, aren’t you?”Severus shrugged. “Eventually,” he said, and Hermione turned to him open-mouthed as he added, “When she finishes school.”I expect nothing but one bended knee and a proper engagement ring (maybe on New Year since he lost his occasion on Christmas morning) I'm warning you *most threatening stare I possess*

Response from beaweasley2 (Author of The Plight-Trothed Bride)

Oh gosh, this Severus? Really? Like he's done it 'right' in this story. Sure he's been better at interacting and trying to engage in the relationship - but really? I think you'll get a giggle, maybe roll your eyes and sigh first... I bet you get frustrated at , oops, er... um, yeah. but it's coming up. oops.Ummm, forget that spoiler, all right?

Phew, I'm glad Hermione didn't do a nastier hex on Auror Raphael Sparks; she owes him an explanation, but he should have been wearing his uniform. Maggie... just when I'm ready to glare at her, you reveal her traumatic past. The third Death Eater who got away.... I wonder if he was at the Malfoy event. And why did you tell us Ingolsby's name, as if he has a significant role later....Aideen is so cute! Such a sweet phoenix, and I love her relationship with Severus and Hermione. Interesting that Fawkes could not heal Dumbledore's hand; I wonder what the limits are to phoenix tears' healing abilities.Thank you for the new chapter!

Response from beaweasley2 (Author of The Plight-Trothed Bride)

Yes, and an appology!Yep, poor Maggie was a tramatized witch, and yes, she has a sad past. BUt then even the baddies had a childhood. Yes, one got away... Ingolsby will show up, and at a party, he's among the elite, but how of when I will have to remain mute. I'm glad that you like the phoenix. I'm sure like all things, there are limits, but phoenix tears are really potient and can cure a lot of things. YOu're welcome for the chapter, thank you for reading and for the review, June.

I'm working on the next one! Yep, the Malfoy party - Severus will have a whole diferent bits and ticks to deal with, and it's going to be a fun party. I loved the discussion on women healers and the problems they faced in antiquity. I also liked it when the boys let slip how protective Severus is. Not to mention how he helped her dress in the corset and the dinner party at the Burkes'. I *really* liked how she talked herself down from a full strop about the clothes -- and am looking forward to the hols. Excellent update!

Response from beaweasley2 (Author of The Plight-Trothed Bride)

I'm not sure how I missed reviewing this. My memory is a little fuzzy, but I remember being amused by Talfryn, and I look forward to time spent with him.And poor Severus. Not one, but two women taking over his house. He grumbles, but I think that he likes the idea of Hermione feeling comfortable in his home. And his past ... it can't be changed, but maybe he and Hermione can make some new memories to replace the old, bad ones.

Response from beaweasley2 (Author of The Plight-Trothed Bride)

Is okay. I love typing Talfryn and his blunt honesty - I hope you enjoy the visit with him on Christmas Eve. Yep, Ginny got her way and now his bookshelves have figurenes, his bed has ruffles, tiny flowers and sham pillows! + But here's the rule: If she likes the bed, if she gets to make it hers, yep, she'll sleep in it. Good thing for guys to know. Yes, the past can't be changed, it where you go from here (if you can let the past go and leave it behind) Thank you for reading and for the review.

Loved Talfryn's second letter. :) And I was wondering if Severus had some kind of warning if someone entered his home (actually, I expected it). Hermione kind of stepped on some toes, didn't she? Wonder how he'll react long-term to the things he revealed to her today? Will he resent the fact that she knows about the miscarriages, for example? Great update!

Response from beaweasley2 (Author of The Plight-Trothed Bride)

I"m glad that you liked his letter. Yep, a small warning stone. lol Not really, and not unexpected actually, but if she makes it hers as well, she'll be happier there. So he relented. So far Hermione hasn't thrown any of his 'revelations' in his face or scorned him because of them, so he's finding he can confide in her. That's important, and it helps her understand him a bit more. Thank you for reading and for the review.

I love Talfryn Prince, and I'm glad it's settled that Hermone and Severus will spend Christmas with him. I'd love to spend some time with the old gentleman myself and learn all about "how things were back then" in the wizarding world. I imagine that the day will come when he had Severus will be able to talk about things that haven't come up yet. It's great that Hermione is putting her decorating touch on Severus' - err, their home in Spinners End. I can only imagine how Severus had to bite his tongue more than once when Hermione and Ginny were choosing all those pillows. But from your description, I think the room would be lovely without driving him to distraction. LOL!You've tweaked my curiosity about the box that contained Severus' mementos from his childhood... and I can understand why he wouldn't want to discuss it then, and perhaps never. But if he does decided to go back by himself and remove those things before he and Hermione have a chance to talk about them, and if she were to find out, I think she wouold be really outdone with him. I hope the day will come when he can tell her about all those sad memories and dispell some of the bitterness about them that seems to lurk just under the surface for him. Thanks for this update to one of my favorite WIPs!!!Beth

Response from beaweasley2 (Author of The Plight-Trothed Bride)

I’m so glad that you like the old guy, he’s a hoot to type and I love that I can have him totally brutally honest and that he doesn’t care if they like him or not ( but that’s not true, he’s really glad to have Severus back visiting and I think he likes Hermione a lot) Talking may come, if I can get it in. lol

Yep, the ‘making it hers’ that all couples go through. I’m glad that you like how he handled himself. All those pillows, dust ruffle, bed skirt, shams - boggled his mind – but it made her happy. Him distracted? – if she’ll be happy in the bed, so will he.

Humm that box – shhhh secret… it’s not stuff from his childhood. It’s stuff of his mum’s, the baby pic was the hint, and stuff that reminds him he wouldn’t have been an only child if his father hadn’t hurt his mum. Sad that he’d keep it all, but he is sentimental in a way.

Thank you for the review, Beth. As always, I love your take and thoughts in the story. Hugs.

Thank you and I appreciate the well wishes. You are most welcome for the update. Yes, you're right, since he went along, he can't complain about the color - but then all that really mattered to him at the end was that she'd sleep in the bed, now. lol men. It is important for them to act like a couple, and this day with Talfryn and then his being 'nice' with her frineds will be a nice move in the right direction. I'm glad that you like Talfryn, me too. Thank you for reading and for the reivew.

I suspect Hermione is growing on Talfryn, the crusty fellow. Fingers crossed that he and the house-elves will have a lovely menu for Christmas.I'm impressed Severus let Ginny and Hermione drag him to M&S for shopping. Sounds like the right choice -- not too feminine, no school colors, and new curtains. Where does Severus keep the magical photograph of him and his mother? That would be nice to display somewhere. If they give the old clothes to a Muggle secondhand store, they'd be valued as retro and it would be less likely Severus would see them again; I'm assuming there is nothing valuable in any of the pockets. Well, it's getting cozier in the Snape home, and it's nice that Ginny was there as their first guest, the first of many visitors.Thank you for the new chapter!!

Response from beaweasley2 (Author of The Plight-Trothed Bride)

Yes, Talfryn is a sweetheart - a crusty ol coote, but sweet. He likes that Severus is interested in him and likes Hermione. Sice he hasn't celebrated Christmas for years - the house-elves, now told that there will be - well, you can only guess! I wanted him to have to allow her to decorate, and bedding is always something young couples face at some point. I was kind in chosing. His Mum's picture is someplace he can pull it out if he wants, but probably placed somewhere 'safe.' The second hand store will be delighted with all the clothes, and it's possible that they will be sold since wizards would be glad to buy Muggle things in a wizarding shop instead of having to brave the Muggle world to buy something. So, considering that, he might see a shirt or two at some point - when he goes on raids with the Aurors. lol Yes, the home is getting cozier and comfortable, which is really improtant. You are most welcome for the update. SWP should update next, then CoMWT. Thank you for reading and for the review.
