In the wake of the fall of Voldemort, a new law threatens Muggleborn women with forced marriages, including Hermione Granger who must make the best of a bad situation by marrying Severus Snape. This story is that of the long and rocky road to eventually find contentment.
Winner of the Multifaceted Award, round three, Courage category. Thanks!

Annuled? NO! She can't get the marriage annuled! She can't!Please don't leave it so long again before you update"She can't annul the marriage- she just can't!
I was so happy to see an update with this story. I know things are rough for Hermione right now, but I'm still holding out for a happy ending for our couple.
Well, I see that Severus has learned absolutely NOTHING. Hermione is not helping the situation either--someone needs to tell her that denial doesn't accomplish anything! When will this story start to resemble the initial summary (something about true love taking a long time...)? Or have you changed direction entirely? In any case, thanks for the update.
Severus the stalker? He is being really scary.
Well, I have to say I am a bit disappointed in all the angst, and the fact that it now appears that there won't be a SS/HG happy ending. I've invested a lot of time and did have a lot of enjoyment in this story until maybe half way through. You were doing such a great job of showing a BDSM relatiionship. And it appeared that SS was learning how to not be in control at all times. And I still remember the fact that SS told HG all about what he was intio and liked before they were married and she carefully weighed her options. I wonder if she'd really be happy with KS, as a stay home mom with a bunch of kids. Somewhere the story took a different tone, and it seemed to go into a typical "SS is a controlling, abusive husband" and the poor HG is suffering and needs her own life thing. I was so enjoying the unique take on BDSM when this story splintered off in a different direction. I too, as other people have mentioned went by the original summary of this story which said something along the lines of... , the road to romance is rocky and how SS and HG find love......Then after reading the story anticiapating they'd find love/romance at the end of that road, and becoming addicted to the story, the summary changed. Now it' an angst-fest. I have a little hope for a happy ending with the two together since you do still say romance on the category (maybe starting over together? or whatever), but I fear I fore-see divorce, other lovers for both and a angst filled ending. Please, please don't angst out the ending because it seems "more realistic". Happy endings get a "immature rap" while for some reason an unhappy ending is considered realistic and "grown-up". I am not afraid to say I like and hope for a happy ending. Hey, we'e in a SS/HG ship category and while of course that doesn't automatically signify romance and happy endings, I really believe that quite a few of us do enjoy happy endings for our favorite couple. That being said, your writing is terrific, and the first part of this story stands as one of the best BDSM stories I have read. In any case although I'm almost positive that it will not be a happy ending with SS and HG together (I can see it now-years in the future they are married to others, sigh), I have a small corner of hope in my heart.
Even though the chapters are coming out at a snails pace, I am still really enthralled by this story. I do hope that you have more time soon to get your updates out quicker, because I can't wait to find out what Severus has planned. This is a great story and I look forward to finding out what you have left in store for the readers.
You cannot possibly comprehend how happy you've made me with this chapter. The news over the last few months about you finishing this story have been wonderful, but actually finding a new and fullfilling chapter here (I usually read and review at Ashwinder) had been a miracle. You have me on pins and needles again with anxiety to see how it does on. A Potions master brewing a potion with his wife's blood is trully a bad sign for their marriage. I just hope he does not screw up too much and that you favour happy endings.
I'm thrilled by the update. I clearly understand Hermione's POV, her want to have her own life, but I feel sad for Severus too, though he looks determined to keep her at any cost. I wonder how it will bite him back in the arse.
This story has been such an amazing ride, I was so pissed off at both characters when I initially read it and I still think Severus needs to see the light a little bit more when it comes to Hermione -- However, I am a little concerned that the ending will be ugly, and I'll gird my loins for it (as it were) but I really *sigh* do look forward to reading more of your wonderful, convoluted story.
I'm VERY happy to see an update on this story. You really have a good feel for characters- like the Snape and Dumbledore scene in this chapter. Snape is getting even more unlikable now, but it's consistent to how he has been throughout the story. At this point he really hasn't changed much, he still doesn't understand how much he took from her by backing her into a corner. I'm on pins and needles on how this will all end.I have to ask, is Clarice inspired by Clarice Starling-Lecter ;-) ?

Clarice Starling inspired the name, but nothing else about the character... she's kind of a combination of people I've known.I'm glad Snape is seeming consistant. I hope I haven't been too inconsistant with the story, and taking such a long time writing it makes it harder to stay on track with what I'd planned. But I'm trying, and my goal is to have the next chapter done by the end of June at the latest (I figure with finals coming up at the start of May, I'll be pretty focused on that until then, and don't plan on writing more than the chapter outline before finals are over). Thanks for the review!
One of the things I've long liked about your story is how well you're able to wrap real emotions into a fantasy world. This chapter is melancholy and foreboding at the same time.

Thank you! :-)
I'm glad to see that you are updating again. It has been quite awhile. I love that this may not have a happy ending. This is a very realistic story and i'm glad it is being written. I look forward to your next update.
Thanks so much for the update. I had thought that this would be one of those wonderful stories that ended up being orphaned.Hope everything is alright. this chapter was wonderful, but Severus....he's just p!ssing me off! Won't he ever learn?...sigh...of course, he's got 'y' chromosomes, so that might be a bit hard for him to do.latermarti

I've always meant to finish this story, but I had to take a fandom break for a while, and I'm in school full time this semester, and kids activities, ect, ect... ;-) So I WILL finish the story.
Thank goodness for the update. I was just thinking of this fic the other day. I had no idea that she was going to want to dump him. I thought it would work out in the end. Now I'm not so sure. I can't believe he'd use a love potion. I'm so disappointed in him. I can't wait for the next installment!
Yay!!!! A new chapter!!!! Thank you for updating. I feel badly for Severus and Hermione both here. He obviously loves her and doesn't understand why she can't live with him, she obviously is enjoying time to be "normal" just as if she'd never been to Hogwarts. (BTW, does Harry still stay in touch with her? Is Lucius still awaiting trial?) I don't know what kind of potion Severus just made - it would be nice if it were something to help both of them clarify what's in their hearts, but it could be something like a lust/love potion that would just muddle up their feelings. Your story blurb still says "romance" so I am hoping still for a happy Severus-Hermione ending. I hope all is well with you, and that the next chapter is in your fingers. Thanks again for updating!
woohoo..happy dance finally an update...please get things sorted between these two...not all was bad between them...they were together for a year...oh please update soon...thanks for updating and not abandoning this story
I almost had a heart attack when I saw there was finally an update! I'd pretty much given up on this story being finished. I hope that you will let them find contentment with each other. Please don't make them do any more stupid, selfish things -- it's killing this happy ending junkie here! Please? BTW - I loved Severus telliing Dumbledore off. About time someone did.
What happened to "Gryfindor Honesty"? Severus was VERY upfront with Hermione when she wanted to escape from other marriages. Why should she decide to change the rules when she wants. She has an obligation (via Wizard Oath) in her vows to try.I adore this story and I'm glad to see an update. I think you have really captured the heart of the MLC. It's not easy to be married in the best of times but when it's not roses and chocolates you have to remember what you promised. Thanks for updating. I'm sure people will disagree with my take on it, but if Hermione is honest with herself she really enjoyed the games she played. (BDSM isn't my thing but she certainly enjoyed it).
Great dialog--particularly the part with Snape. He's rather scary, isn't he?
Thanks for the update! So many ML stories have gone unfinished, and I do love them - mental, I know. I had been wondering what had happened to this one!
Oh but it sounds like Severus is going to do something stupid. Potions involving blood from two people might be considered Dark Arts. Especially involuntarily collected blood. [Did appreciate him pitching the skillet at Albus though.]
A very bad situation indeed. Snape has a lot to figure out, and there's no indication he'll succeed.Hermione is doing well for herself. I hope she does well by Snape also, whatever that may turn out to be.I do wish there were a few more updates per year. This is the most interesting part!
Pleased to see you back - looking forward to seeing HG and SS reach some kind of resolution
First of all I cannot begin to tell you how thrilled I am to see this story up-dated. *Hands over chocolate and champagne*Secondly, you really scare me. I have a feeling this is going to end very badly and although that may seem logical - she has been through some rather awful stuff - my romantic heart hopes for his love to be reciprocated. So I am torned between begging you for the rest of the story and feeling very anxious that when you post the next chapter I may not dare to read at all....
Thank you so much for an update!
I was really hoping that things would work out after the Malfoy trouble. I am starting to dislike both of them now. Too much angst for me! However, you are a very gifted writer. This story made me look up all your other stories.
