Minerva has just finished her first term teaching. A series of misunderstandings leads to an embarrassing moment, injured feelings, regret, growing understanding, then resolution. A Minerva McGonagall fic set in 1957, with forays into the past. More than a Romance; stories within stories. Features Minerva, Albus, and Poppy, with appearances by Slughorn, Grubbly-Plank, Hagrid, Flitwick, Moody, Riddle, Grindelwald, and other canon characters. Not DH-compliant. Disregards DH.
Nineteen Parts.
Most content T-rated, but ratings rise to M and MA for several later chapters. Overall M rating reflects later content.
Pertinent warnings in individual chapter summaries.
Voted First Place, Minerva McGonagall: Legacy Fic, in the HP Fanfiction Fan Poll Awards Spring/Summer 2013.

Reviews for Resolving a Misunderstanding
What a nice, lovely, long chapter to ring in the new year! I am so happy to see that things are progressing nicely. Can't wait to see what is going on with Quin, hope his heart won't be too broken.

Thank you! There will be another chapter coming up shortly, and Minerva goes to meet Quin, so you'll find out all about him then. Glad you liked the chapter -- thanks for reviewing!
The morning after the night before. Such tenderness between them and Albus' insecurity is so sweet. Revelations, confessions, and the overdue heart-to-heart talks. Now that Minerva has staked her claim, she is expressing her feminine right to dress her mate. Not that she hadn't already started down that path with the birthday present. At what point will she discover the 116 year old brown cardigan with the holes at the elbows and missing the two bottom buttons that Albus keeps at the back of his wardrobe and brings out to wear when he has a head cold? After all, his mum knit it for him. I only know about it because the house-elves found it. He won't let them wash it anymore.A lovely interlude. I hope we can just be romantic for a while and not have a crisis for a little while.Welcome back. The last two weeks just didn't seem quite right without those update notices in my e-mail. I hope you had a great holiday!

Your review had me smiling. He did seem a little reluctant to have her come along on a shopping expedition, didn't he?
I think that Minerva and Albus deserve some romantic time together, too. :-)
Thanks for the review! I'm off to have my dinner after an awfully long day. Something hot. It is COLD out here!
I'm terribly tardy with this review; please don't put me in detention. (Or wait: do. I'll have time to read more of your stories.)Have now finished this, AAoL and Death's Dominion, and adore all of them. You've created such a rich and layered world for these wonderful characters--I'm in awe. I'm especially impressed by your ability to weave multi-dimensional OCs into the story. So often, these come off as cardboard cut-outs, or the dreaded Mary Sues, but yours are believeable and fascinating in their own rights. On behalf of HP fans, and especially the die-hard AD/MM shippers, thanks for all your wonderful, detailed work. These stories are obviously a labor of love, and those of us who read them are reaping the benefits.Cheers!

Hi,
Response from MMADfan (Author of Resolving a Misunderstanding)
! Thank you very much! I am very glad to know that you've been reading them and enjoying them.I enjoy writing all of my characters, whether canon or original, and I'm glad you found the OCs fascinating and believable. :-)I'm very glad that the hours and the effort spent on writing these fics has brought you so much pleasure. It is always great to hear that! Thanks very much for the review! I appreciate it.
Yay, an update! I've only been obsessively checking the site the last few days ha. I hope you had a great holiday.*sigh* It's so nice to see them together, finally, and talking to each other, not past each other. As much as I want to see them fall on each other, this slower pace is true to their characters as you've shown them. Although Albus still brings out urges to head-bang--someone needs to roast Valerianna.Loved the minty good-morning kiss! Cute.Very nice transition chapter. I like that you are touching on so much of the backstory, it's fun.Thank you for the pdfs--I was going to ask if it was OK to make copies of your stories. Very happy! (And I'll do the happy dance (and reviews) for anything you choose to write up and post! ;-) )Tired, rambling, but very much enjoyed the chapter.

Thanks! Glad you liked the first update of the new year. There are more chapters left and several threads to tie up, so although the end is in sight, it's not coming in the next couple weeks, anyway! ;-)
Glad you liked the good-morning kiss -- being magical has got to have plenty of fun pluses! haha!
I think I'll be posting the next chapter this weekend.
Thanks for the reviews!
