Reviews for Resolving a Misunderstanding
YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!! It took them long enough! I'm so happy!!!!
Response from MMADfan (Author of Resolving a Misunderstanding)
I'm glad you're happy!
Aw, they are so cute together! Though if Minerva ever worms it out of Albus that Valerianna made him feel that "beyond modest", it will be interesting to see what she does.
Happy Holidays!
Response from MMADfan (Author of Resolving a Misunderstanding)
Thank you!
You forgot to post a hanky warning!(Sniffles and dabs eyes with bottom of t-shirt. Hunting for tissue because reader refuses to blow nose on t-shirt.)You wrote the poem? It's so romantic! (sniffle)(blow)When Albus didn't really believe it at first, I worried we were in for more trouble. We weren't. Confessions and acknowledgements all around. Snuggles, kisses, and falling asleep.Just don't let them develop an allergy to hair. Between the two of them, there's quite a lot of it.Thank you for this lovely Christmas present, gentle author. It must have been so much fun to write this chapter after all the others that weren't quite so happy. Have a wonderful holiday and find some time for a little relaxation in there. We'll see you next year!
Response from MMADfan (Author of Resolving a Misunderstanding)
I'm very glad you enjoyed it! Sorry I didn't give a hanky-warning!
No allergies to hair, fur, or feathers in their future, I assure you! (Although that could make an amusing one-shot someday! LOL)
It was fun to write, and I'm looking forward to writing the next romantic, fluffy, and lemony scenes in the upcoming chapters. And of, course, not neglecting our other characters, either!
Yes, I wrote the poem. *blush* Thank you! I'm not a poet, so I was worried about it, but I did the best I could do for our dear Albus!
Keep an eye out for the little one-shot during this break from RaM. I'm also hoping to take some time to try to catch up, a chapter or two at a time, on Looking for Magic.
Thank you much for your review!
How wonderful! Thank goodness for Quin, or who knows how much longer those two would be apart. What an excellent chapter! Happy at last!
Response from MMADfan (Author of Resolving a Misunderstanding)
Thanks!
FINALLY!!!!!!and yet still albus is a flipping weirdo! and you are creative for making him so believable at it.
great chapter
and i think seeing a healer would not be amiss - maybe not for that problem, but a therapist to heal albus's insane views of himselfbut i think somehow, minerva will manage to do that herself over timei'm actually looking forward to hear albus explain all this to minerva (and to us!)
also can't wait for minerva to tell albus when she fell in love with him. that might freak him out
so glad you're not stopping here...and that there will be more chaptersthere better be anyway! i demand some hot lovemaking after all those chapters of torture
thanks for posting so many chapters in succession. enjoy your much deserved break and happy holidays!
xxxx
Response from MMADfan (Author of Resolving a Misunderstanding)
Yes, well, Albus does have a problem there, but don't forget what Valerianna said to him, and how emotional she was when she said it. She managed to make him believe what she said about him was true. But Minerva will straighten him out! lol!
Thanks very much for the review, and happy holidays to you, too!
Yesss! GO QUIN! Finally!! Yikes, I think even my old deaf kitty heard me yell!I had a suspicion--and a hope--he was going to go see Albus! I hadn't even thought about his sight abilities. Eejit, indeed! Oh, my, that was wonderful. I love Albus dearly, but it's about time someone told him off properly!I love that Quin slipped into his brogue with his anger. Perfect. The whole thing is perfect, from Wilspy's manipulation, Gertrude's pushing him, Fawkes taking the letter, all of it. Oh, yayThis has been sweet torture for months, now, but it's been wonderful, too. Oh, my, I had better have a jumbo box of tissue handy for the next chapter! WONDERFUL!!I have to go read it again right now...
Response from MMADfan (Author of Resolving a Misunderstanding)
Thank you! I'm very glad you enjoyed the chapter so much! I do hope the next chapter meets some of your expectations, at least a little!
I'm glad, too, that you liked Quin's anger and his slipping deeper into his brogue -- his natural brogue rather than the one he put on for Franky and company when he was tweaking them at the dinner table.
The next chapter will be up tomorrow, then there will be a pause for a while as I take care of RL and holidays and such. However, there are a few more chapters left, so it won't be over too abruptly.
Thank you, as ever, for your review!
okay...in all seriousness, this is an absolutely phenomenal chapter. you should take a bow. really.
poor poor (clueless) albus!!
"minerva's protest?" did albus mistake her moan for a grunt of "get off me?" obviously the man's more dim than i thought.
i adored gertie in this, trying to get albus to spill the beans. also thought wilspy was ultra cute in this. too bad albus isn't as perceptive as wilspy is!
the scene between minerva and her mom was very sweet
i squeed with sheer glee when i realized quin was going to see albus. thank you thank you thank youand when quin lost it on albus and the curses started flying, i nearly knocked my tea over in excitement!!and quin's ultimatum to albus! hot feckin' damn! lolbut also about time! thank heavens someone has some sensei'm a bit shocked he's doing it in a letter though?! i look forward to that in the next chapter. i'm sure you have something else up your sleeve. nothing is ever that simple, is it?
re: your comments on my last review...i'm glad you're contining with MMAD and even thinking of a sequel to this already! very exciting. and i am excited about the act of love sequel as well...i enjoyed your writing of severus. i do try to leave long reviews if i've got the time...i love getting them myself, so i understand, especially after you put such intensity into a chapter.
and before i forget - is there anyway you can offers your readers a PDF file of this story once it's done. it's way too good not to download on my computer...if you permit it
Response from MMADfan (Author of Resolving a Misunderstanding)
Hmmm . . . a PDF of it? I will see if I might be able to do that somehow. I could probably upload it to the Potter Place group, since they have an area for files. I'll think about it.
I am very glad that you enjoyed the chapter. I assume you were shocked by the letter because once it's down on paper -- or parchment -- it's there and can't be denied or taken back? It certainly does make Albus vulnerable. Besides, at that point, I don't think he could otherwise make the 24 hour deadline that Quin set for him, since Minerva's not at the castle. Much better to do it in a letter, anyway, even if it's harder because you're really baring your soul, at least you know you have said what you have meant, even if you can't easily take it back or ignore it later! I am sure this will be a letter that will go in Minerva's collection! LOL! And sometimes, things really are that simple! I do hope that you enjoy the next chapter!
Glad, too, that you liked Quin's hot-tempered speech to Albus! He was very upset.
Thanks, as always, for the review!
I've threatened to give Dumbledore a good shaking myself on a few occasions, so I'm glad Quin took it upon himself to straighten him out. It has certainly become obvious to everybody else that these two have their hearts on their sleeves and just can't see what's going on.Honestly. Albus still hasn't got but half a clue. Thick headed blankety blank man.A heart warming chapter, seeing how Minerva's mother understood, Quin understood, and Trudi-Love understood. And maybe Albus will find the other half of the clue (probably hidden in all that beard and long hair someplace) at some point in the near future.
Response from MMADfan (Author of Resolving a Misunderstanding)
"Honestly. Albus still hasn't got but half a clue."
Yup, and Quin wasn't going to give him the other half of the clue. He'll have to get that from Minerva. (Unless he finds it hidden in all that beard and long hair! lol)
In your list of those who understood, you left out Wilspy -- telling him to ask Minerva to come back and actually SAYING that Minerva loved him! The man is brilliant, but dim . . .
There will be one more rapid update, then we will have a bit of a respite (for me to catch my breath! lol!), and not much in the way of updates until after the New Year. I might get another one out, I might not, we'll see!
Thanks, as always, for your review!
Well, a stern talking to and a threat is almost as good as Quin beating up Albus. Finally some resolution!
Great chapter!
Response from MMADfan (Author of Resolving a Misunderstanding)
Thank you!
Yes! One of them has finally admitted their feelings! I loved how Quin confronted Albus.
Response from MMADfan (Author of Resolving a Misunderstanding)
Thanks!
Quin is truly wonderful--I do hope there is someone special for him in the future! I had to admit I'm still a bit peeved at Minerva for coming on to Quin, but at least it demonstrates how deeply involved I am with all of these characters!Albus next...I'm anxious about him! At least Minerva had someone to go to who understood; Albus is likely holed up somewhere alone not doing well.
Response from MMADfan (Author of Resolving a Misunderstanding)
Well, Quin isn't peeved, so maybe go along with him . . . he recognises that she needed validation from someone she cared about and trusted, and that she had just had her heart broken and was feeling pretty wretched.
You won't have to wait terribly long to find out what has been going on with Albus. Poor guy!
Thank you for reviewing!
okay you are way too good to us for posting again....but no complaints here!
"all the propinquity in the world wouldn’t ha’ brought him to react as I gather from you that he did "well reasoned quin! well reasoned!
this seduction of quin is making me really mad at minerva.... props to you for creating an original character i care so much about. and it was so close to disaster, but yet again quin was awesome. thank you for that.
i still can't wait to get into albus's head...but based on the title, i doubt that will be in the next chapter. but maybe? :)
i of course will wait with bated breath until the moment that minerva and albus speak face to face.
thanks so much for writing this story. hope you never stop writing MM/AD...i love your style.
Response from MMADfan (Author of Resolving a Misunderstanding)
You're welcome! I'm very glad you enjoy it! I will probably stick to shorter things, like one-shots, for a while after RaM is finished, though. I do have notes for a sequel, but we'll see. I still have to finish my AAoL sequel and begin posting that. There will be a one-shot up sometime in the next week or two, I hope, in response to the poll I had on my LJ. Minerva won't be in it, but Albus will appear.
Very glad you like Quin -- and he understood Minerva and her feelings, so he's okay with her and will help her not feel uncomfortable or guilty about it, as she might otherwise.
Thank you for all your reviews! I really enjoy reading them!
This just confirms that Quin is a great guy. I am curious to see what has been going on with Albus, though.
Response from MMADfan (Author of Resolving a Misunderstanding)
You haven't long to wait. :) Thanks!
Things were a hairsbreadth away from a disaster in this chapter. If Quin had been any less insightful into Minerva's state of mind, things would have gone much further than they did. If Albus somehow manages to make things right with Minerva, she is going to be completely mortified with how she behaved towards Quin. I can't imagine how Albus could possibly fix this, so it is a darn good thing you are writing this story!
Response from MMADfan (Author of Resolving a Misunderstanding)
It will be fixed. No worries there!
As far as Minerva and Quin, I think he has done a lot to try to make her more comfortable, so it may be awkward, but I don't think she'll be mortified. She'll feel bad for Quin, of course.
If Quin cared less about Minerva, it would have gone further. Minerva is right to trust him, to trust herself with him. Good thing, too, that he could do the thinking for both of them, because Minerva was not in any state to make any rational choices.
The next update will be fast, too, but once the next couple are out, I think there will be a BRIEF hiatus. As in, not a hiatus for most stories, but given the usual update schedule of twice a week for RaM, it will seem like a hiatus. But that's so that we can get these chapters out. And before the holidays catch up with many of the readers, too.
Thanks, as always, for your review!
I am trying to be patient and understanding with Minerva here, but she is being terribly unfair to Quin. I understand why (and, as usual, it's believable!), but I feel defensive of him. Laughing at the flannel nightgown, though...Thank you for posting this chapter so quickly!
Response from MMADfan (Author of Resolving a Misunderstanding)
Glad you liked the flannel nightgown! ;D
There will be another couple chapters posted fairly rapidly, likely Friday and Saturday.
Thanks muchly for reviewing! :D
Quin should go beat some sense into Albus for making Minerva hurt so much!
Oh, and poor Quin, having Minerva keep trying to come onto him. At least he's gallantly letting her down, so when she looks back it won't be too embarassing to remember. Superb chapter, can't wait for the next update.
Response from MMADfan (Author of Resolving a Misunderstanding)
Thanks very much! The next updates will be fairly quick. I've got a bunch of chapters "in the bank," so there won't be a long wait during this set.
so now i totally forgive you for that horrible cliffy yesterday because you took pity on us readers and updated today! yay!
i love quin! thank heavens for quin, otherwise minerva might have just let herself be eaten in the forest.
i wonder why quin, 'um,' needed to get up so quickly... :) i can't think of any reasons....
your description of minerva kissing quin is so plausible i knew it was coming. very convincing on your part! and damn isn't quin so noble! i love it and i love his character as i've said a million times now, but it still bares repeating. i know minerva's in a bad way, but she better regret puting quin's heart through that! the poor man has it bad for her. if he didn't, he would have slept with her for sure.
can't wait till we get in albus's head on this one. didn't he notice that she kissed him first? maybe he thought she accidentally pressed her lips to his and then accidentally moaned when he touched her breast. or was he too freaked out to notice?
so with the most adorable *puppy dog eyes* i beg for another chapter as soon as possible. and you know what, i don't even feel guilty for my shameless begging, because it's your fault for making me so obsessed with this story. so there!! :)
Response from MMADfan (Author of Resolving a Misunderstanding)
"can't wait till we get in albus's head on this one. didn't he notice that she kissed him first? maybe he thought she accidentally pressed her lips to his and then accidentally moaned when he touched her breast. or was he too freaked out to notice?"
OMG, you had me laughing! Thanks! "accidentally"! *chuckle* Yeah, he was freaked out, though!
"so with the most adorable *puppy dog eyes* i beg for another chapter as soon as possible. and you know what, i don't even feel guilty for my shameless begging, because it's your fault for making me so obsessed with this story. so there!! :)"
Well, as long as you don't begin any whining . . . lol! But those puppy dog eyes! Very unfair! ;)
But there will be another couple quick updates, but then it will go back to the more sedate pace.
Thanks very much for the review!
Oh, I like Quin more and more with each chapter. He is such a decent person. It would have been so easy for him to take advantage of Minerva - I hope he finds someone special when he is ready to. I'd love to read more about him sometime! I was so glad to see this updated today since I'm home due to bad weather!
Response from MMADfan (Author of Resolving a Misunderstanding)
More Quin in the next couple of chapters! I think you'll continue to like him. :)
I'm glad you had something to entertain you during the bad weather! There will be another chapter up very soon, since people (elsewhere) are begging shamelessly for fast updates, and since these chapters are all written, I will oblige them -- for now! lol!
Thanks much for the review!
Uh-oh. Minerva is having a very bad case of the rebounds and Quin is only human (in the wizard sense of things). He's already acknowledged being attracted to her. I suspect it is only his sense that it would really be taking advantage that keeps him from taking advantage. This could be very messy, but you planned it that way. You wicked author!
Response from MMADfan (Author of Resolving a Misunderstanding)
Yes, a wicked author! *grin*
Thanks much for the review!
so i thought: "now we're getting somewhere" then "sort of!" and then "perhaps not really!"you gave us the carrot and then yanked it away! evil!
albus is a total moron: "A wizard’s physical reactions are not always in accordance with his feelings"what the hell is he doing...!? lying is really a horrible thing to do!
poor minervacan't wait to get inside albus's head on that stupid reactionand yay more quin!!!
Response from MMADfan (Author of Resolving a Misunderstanding)
Well, he didn't lie exactly, though he didn't say anything about his own feelings there! But it was as good as a lie, or as bad as one.
Thanks for the review! Hope you'll enjoy the next three or four chappies!
ohohohoh...arrgh, can I murder them and bring them back to life??This was perfect, so perfect, marvelous writing. I was thinking how great, these two really should talk to each other more often<g>, and then they were kissing, and then I was confused...he was gone? I thought she was dreaming, I had to go back and read it again. What did he do?!Arrgh! I'm so upset for them, but the writing is so wonderful, and this is still so in character for them, frustrating as that is!!So, how long are we going to be in torture now? (Although I really am not complaining, your updates have been really fast for weeks!)Hmm, the knight's "brilliant blue eyes" is an interesting observation. Or maybe I'm just reading too much into it.Fantastic!! It's dark, yes, but a huge leap forward too. There is light ahead.Oh, and today is my birthday--thanks for the wonderful present!
Response from MMADfan (Author of Resolving a Misunderstanding)
Happy Birthday! I'll drink to your health!
Yes, there is light now, even though Minerva can't see it yet. I'm very glad that you enjoyed the chapter!
Thanks very much! (And since the next few chapters are written, the updates wil continue to be fast for a while, even though I don't think I'll be able to write much again until maybe Sunday. We'll see!)
Response from stardragon (Reviewer)
Thank you for the birthday wishes. It was a treat to have their first kiss--finally--fall on that day!Off to pour a glass of wine and read the next chapter...
OH MY GODS!!!!I can't believe it!!!! Wow...I think that's why fanfictionnet servers fell! *grins broadly and madly*My dear, I really though Minerva could just be daydreaming... This chapter was so unexpected and yet it culminate the best of your story until now.Hell, where has BAD ALBUS gone? Poor Minerva again, once more he didn't let her explain.Well, poor Albus too, since he thinks that moment was his fault, and It wasn't even a mistake at all.Oooooooouch, I can't wait for the next chapter, pleeeease. Be merciful!!!I can't keep the sight of Minerva so hurted (both phisically and emotionaly)...Again, you've made a wonderful job. It's such a great delight to read RaM! Gods, I can't wait an update....Thank you as always, and please, update soon *begs with uncharacteristically puppy dog eyes*\o/ oh my gods, I still can't believe, I'm gona read it again... *sighs* *Marina
Response from MMADfan (Author of Resolving a Misunderstanding)
Thank you. I don't know what to say . . . but there won't be much of a wait for the next chapter, since there has been very little whining but lots of requests for an early update. (I can't stand whining. *rolls eyes*) Sweet begging and puppy dog eyes, though . . . I am a bit of a sucker for the puppy dog eyes.
The next two chapters follow Minerva, then in the one after that, we find out where Albus disappeared to.
Thanks again!
It was interesting to see how Poppy and Murdoch's relationship is developing and some insight into Malcolm. Good work!
Response from MMADfan (Author of Resolving a Misunderstanding)
Thanks!
Goody, more Malcolm! He is a fascinating person. He must lead a fascinating life, whatever that may be. I like his integrity. Minerva must be feeling quite left out of romance at the moment.Loved Malcolm's viscious chess set!Welcome back! Hope you had a nice holiday!
Response from MMADfan (Author of Resolving a Misunderstanding)
Malcolm is intriguing, isn't he? And poor Minerva does seem to be surrounded by happy couples, doesn't she?
Thanks for reviewing!
