Years after Voldemort is destroyed, Hermione struggles to have the life she has always wanted. **Note: This story is on haitus. It isn't abandoned; I simply have no idea when it will be continued.

Reviews for Strega Letteraria
That was wonderfully detailed. And I like that they were willing to declare their love. Harry, oh, Harry. What an amazingly self-centered, idiotic, pigheaded man. I really and truly hope that he never changes his mind there.

Yes, Harry behaved badly. Very typically, in my honest opinion. Not for JKR's Harry, but for the Harry that I wrote, and my whole aim of this story was to be as realistic as possible (if you can call pointing a wand and saying Silencio! realistic).

grrr..... I want to see justice for Draco and also Narcissa!! As a certain well-known super-hero says: "It's clobberin' time!" I enjoyed the visit with Hermione's parents; they sound lovely and very dentist-like. thanks for the new chapter!
Response from notsosaintly (Author of Strega Letteraria)
I liked her parents too. Just really loving, nonjudgemental, the type you want to have adopt you, you know?Draco and Narcissa. I hadn't thought about Narcissa, but you're right. You've gotten those cogwheels in my brain a-turnin' now. Thanks!

ooh, can't forget Narcissa. would not want Draco punished while Cissa is still running loose to avenge Lucius and Draco. brrr....!

Oooooo I can't wait for Severus's justice to occur. Granted I feel bad for Draco and all that, but really... there's no need to be so hostile, lol.Hmm... I agree with McGonagall and wonder why the Head of the Aurors is there to investigate.More Please!
Severus handled his talk with Hermione with such sensitivity. I wonder why so many Aurors are involved?

Good speech for Hermione. I am glad to see she put Harry in his place when all he could care about was his being inconvenienced by the consequences of his actions. A far cry from the caring Harry who visited a petrified Hermione in her second year. I hope she gets him to sign away his rights legally so there is no Silas Marner moment.
Response from notsosaintly (Author of Strega Letteraria)
I need to Google Silas Marner, but I can deduce from the context of what you are speaking.Yes, it is a far cry from that, but I don't tend to write Harry completely in-character, but more like a real man who lacked a decent upbringing. JKR's vision of a boy who miraculously embodies a solid set of morals when he's been abused during the formative years of his life is a little ... unrealistic.

I think Severus will have much better ways of dealing with Draco than the Aurors.

Oh, I do too. He's mulling them over with me as I read this.

That wasn't so bad. Parents were reasonable - check. Severus was supportive - double-check. McGonagall and the Weasley women were doting - completely expected, given the backstory you've created.I still feel that Hermione should have told Harry before now about the apothecary mix-up and her decision to keep the baby, but that is water under the bridge. Due to that fact, I think it would have been a tad bit fairer to him to give him more than the few moments he had to decide whether or not he wanted to be invovled in his child's life. However, Hermione got the answer that she actually wanted, whether she knew it or not.I am not shocked at the way he took the news nor at the way he lashed out. I am glad that Hermione couldn't see him clearly - she would have been deeply hurt by what she saw. This particular version of Harry is a bit immature, selfish, and jaded. If he really never wanted children, then he should have made certain that he couldn't father any, especially if he was going to be sexually active. His reasoning just proves to me that he didn't really love Ginny as much as he'd like to believe. But just because he says he wants no part does not mean that it won't come back to haunt them. He needs to suck it up and tell his current spouse. No matter how awkward. He should never have slept with Hermione when he was getting married to someone else to start with. He took advantage of Hermione's friendship and loneliness to suit his own needs of the moment and then had the nerves to accuse her of financial entrapment. </end of Harry-bashing> *smiles*Auror Robards. Pretty ominous, that. Let's see if Severus really can settle this all on his own. I can't imagine that Robards doesn't know something at this point.Another great update. Thank you!

Oh, you like Harry bashing too? I felt that Harry was very unjust in the things he said, but as you pointed out, he didn't have much time. In real life, people have arguments, quick and dirty, and walk out ... which I think is more in Harry's character to leave when he's upset. So he said some unjust and hurtful things and did not take responsibility for his part (if you don't count the comment about support). But you know how Harry is. He'll calm down and then have to face things. Hermione did NOT say "don't come back tomorrow and change your mind"; she said "ten years". So there is still hope that he'll apologize to Hermione for being so raunchy.

Oh my another chapter so quickly! Thank you kindly NSS!!! I thought the best bit of the chapter was when Severus witnessed her worry vanish. I think that really says a lot about their relationship. Also I adore your cold!harry

I adore picking on Harry. I did the same in another story of mine (Letting Go). He's just made out to be this ... I don't know, character to be worshipped, that can do no wrong? And I just don't fall for it, especially since he didn't have much of a strong parental upbringing.

Great chapter! I'm so glad that Hermione and Severus have declared their love. Loved Severus's response to the Aurors about the baby. I was suprised by Harry's (prat!)reaction to the pregnancy. Hope there is a new chapter soon :-)

It is good to surprise readers. I get tired of predictability in stories, so I strive to shock at times.

I was absolutely shocked at Harry's attitude, I know he wants to protect his marriage, but he was harsh with his friend.
Response from notsosaintly (Author of Strega Letteraria)
True. As you might know, I've tried to bring "reality" into this story, where JKR's was a lot of fantasy. So that is why some characters will behave "out-of-character" if you take JKR's world into consideraton. So, in channeling a young, married male who is guilty of having an affair and didn't want to have children, I wrote what his initial reaction would be when such news was sprung on him. This isn't to say that he won't play a further role in this story. He might after he cools his (in-character) heels a bit.

For Hermione's sake, I hope Severus CAN take care of Draco. If Draco gets another shot at her, I'm afraid the third time will do the trick. Mr. Prince has to figure out a way for the general public to find out that Lucius is alive. He's got his work cut out for him!

Really can't get enough of this story. It is very touching on multiple levels. If anything happens to Hermione I will not be held responsible if all hell breaks loose and I send a herd of dementors after you.I am also quite flattered that my minor concern was dealt with so prominently. I certaily enjoy your POV even if I don't completely agree. In any case I am holding my breath for the next chapter so please update ASAP!
Response from notsosaintly (Author of Strega Letteraria)
I had to go back to chapter one just now to see if it was in fact you that left that review (I looked at the review a couple days ago before writing the author's note, but my memory is a little spotty sometimes). Just wanted you to know that I appreciate all POVs, want to hear them, and everything said in a review makes me think. So when you said that, I knew that leaving his ghost as a fleeting mention wouldn't work because if you felt that way, maybe others did too, and his character deserved to be developed a bit more. :)I am happy you are still reading and enjoying, and I look forward to writing more for you and everyone else!

I was so happy to see an update! Great chapter. It's very nice to see Hermione gradually realising her feelings for Severus. I hope Draco gets his comeuppance! And now your cliffie has me all wibbly... *waits*

Great Chapter and Story. Honey its your story, I love the idea of Albus a ghost. If he's as gay as JKR would have us to believe, being a ghost ( nosy, flambount and etheral) is exactly what Albus would revel in.Again, excellent work.Truly

I like that Hermione's feelings are "growing gradually" for Severus... I can picture it as something that is nurtured and encouraged, and blooms large and bright year after year rather than a weed that shoots up quickly and just chokes everything around it. And damn Draco for being such a convincing villain! I try so hard to think he has something redeemable left in his soul, but obviously he didn't agree. :(
Response from notsosaintly (Author of Strega Letteraria)
Redeemable!Draco is in a different story, I think. He makes no appearance in this one. *lol*I think it's good they are both "growing" and cultivating their feelings. They'll need it!

So glad to see an update to this story. What will Harry say when he finds out? Snape is so going to kick Draco's butt (or so we hope). Looking foward to a new chapter soon.

I can't wait for Harry to find out. It should be a scene to remember ... or perhaps one we'd like to forget? I wonder.

I think it has been nice all through this story that you have gone "out of your way" to make your characters believable and their motives understandable; HOWEVER, there comes a time when sympathy is worn out and behavior has crossed the line of inexcusable. I suppose that every good story villan should have readers clamouring for his demise. Even with all that ... Draco has got to go, It seems as if he has developed an aptitude for preying on the weak and helpless so I hope his end will render him into a similar state. Perhaps he could be transfigured into a toothless white ferret and given to a first grade class as their class pet. A lifetime of rough handling, squeezing, and tail-pulling would make a start toward atoning.
Response from notsosaintly (Author of Strega Letteraria)
Draco. What a topic. From the beginning, I knew he was evil, that there was no good "bone" in his body. I think that readers are finally coming to this realization now. Any sympathization with his character came from not understanding how truly evil he was. The product of his upbringing, perhaps, combined with greed, the expectation of what he believes is "his"... throw in a bit of inbreeding. Well, he'll get his just desserts soon.

That chapter was so full of detail and amazing emotions. And wow, Draco really is a true villain here. And completely insane. He needs to be stopped. Poor Hermione.

The title had put me off before, but when I saw you updated I gave it a chance and I am so glad I did! This story is as cozy as Hermione's bookshop. Plenty of detail and I can feel Hermione's quiet desperation to make ends meet. Harry's presence was a breath of fresh air and I am looking forward for a long sit-down and enjoy what you've written so far.Livvy
Response from notsosaintly (Author of Strega Letteraria)
Hey livvy! Yeah, well, the title is a little *yawn* boring ... There was a piece of fanfiction I read once (a very long time ago) that used the word Strega, and I was just so in love with the story that I wanted to incorporate it as well. (As though somehow it might make my story measure up to that one. *LOL*)I'm glad you enjoy it so far. You've a lot of chapters to read in front of you, which is how I like to read my stories, so I hope you enjoy how events unfold.
