Years after Voldemort is destroyed, Hermione struggles to have the life she has always wanted. **Note: This story is on haitus. It isn't abandoned; I simply have no idea when it will be continued.

Reviews for Strega Letteraria
This isn't really related to this chapter in particular, but I wanted to comment on your idea of writing a Harry who is afraid of having children. That is such a valid perspective. I can't believe I've never thought of it that way or seen him written that way before. Umm, to bring this back to this chapter… I love how Hermione was so inwardly reactive to "the Stranger." Off to read more!
Response from notsosaintly (Author of Strega Letteraria)
Well, the fact that you brought it up means I got you thinking on it, which makes me smile. Yes, some – okay, well most – have argued that it was out-of-canon (and perhaps it is), that he most desired a family after not having one of his own. But my perspective takes into account the male psyche, of being leery of somethng he never was introduced to, plus the decidedly still-immature attitude a man of less than 25 would have. I'd give him another 5-10 years before he would entertain the possibility of children. I'm very much into writing "reality" into this story, if you couldn't tell.

Ah, well. at least I can understand what fuels Draco's need for revenge. I really loved the way you described Narcissa's viewpoint of her husband.
Response from notsosaintly (Author of Strega Letteraria)
Narcissa is another one who needs to have her character "filled out" a bit more. I doubt I'll be able to do it complete justice in this story, however. When I'm finished with this story (and Tutoring Session), I plan on exploring characters that I don't normally focus on.

Oh dear, I was fractionally upset when Draco was determined to get vengeance on Hermione. I love a Draco with redemptive qualities. I am very interested in what he was thinking when he seemed taken aback when he first saw her. I'm hoping that he perhaps has some of those qualities afterall and that they are going to spoil his plans. In any case, I'm captivated…
Response from notsosaintly (Author of Strega Letteraria)
You know, normally I am with you. I love a Draco with redemptive qualities, and I have to admit a love of the "bad boy" being good. I like to explore other sides of characters in my stories, which is why you'll see Harry all sweet and romantic in one and a complete prat in another. Same with Draco. *shrug* I'm writing some Draco smut as an addendum to a 'quickie' of mine, though, if that will appease.

Oh wow! It looks like there is going to be some trouble now. I hope to see some dialogue from Ellie later in the story. I thought it was interesting, refreshing, and totally believable how you had Hermione and Harry have sex.
Response from notsosaintly (Author of Strega Letteraria)
Yup, trouble is right. I like your adjectives. "Interesting" and "refreshing". The totally believable part comes from life experience, I'm afraid. You know, write what you know.

This is intriguing. I just fell in love with this sentence near the end: For a prolonged second, all breathing ceased, and it was obvious that she had noticed the quick shift backwards, the reflexive swallow of the shadows.
Response from notsosaintly (Author of Strega Letteraria)
Hmm... I rather like that sentence myself. *lol* Sometimes I look at things and think, "I wrote that?" I'm glad you've started reading this story. It's consuming me right now, between admin work.

Awww I love it. I was so worried about Hermione's baby and I don't know how I would have felt if Draco managed to hurt her...probably because I'm pregnant too and thus quite focused on baby things these days. (I'm having a girl too! aww) Thank goodness the little one is ok, and OH how lovely that Severus couldn't contain his emotions any longer. I could feel how worried he was and how relieved that she is ok. Very lovely scene! Well done and thank you for the update. :)

Well, congratulations! I have 2 girls. Girls are so much fun.

Thank goodness she is alright. I am glad the baby is a girl. Somehow that makes it easier for a step-parent. That way there is no chance of the child looking like a miniature Harry. The scene between Severus and Hermione at the bedside was very moving.
Response from notsosaintly (Author of Strega Letteraria)
Thank you. I myself have two girls, and I have always felt that girls are easier.

SIGH!! Thank you so much for that wonderful update. I'm so happy right now. This chapter might have sated me for about two weeks, so I hope you've got your thinking cap on and your fingers moving on those keyboards. Just brilliant!!
Response from notsosaintly (Author of Strega Letteraria)
Only two weeks? Hmm... thinking cap poised, thinking about what torture I can inflict whatever I'm going to do about Hermione's news....

The calm before the storm. Just get everything out in the open. Gah!! Thanks for the great chapter!

Yup, the calm. It's necessary. And I thought THIS chapter was hard to write.

Pity the cat got let out of the bag in the waiting room re her pregnancy. She shouldn't be showing all that much at 4 1/2 months. Those that weren't in the know may have just thought she had put on a little weight otherwise. Love to be a fly on the wall in the waiting room when she only wanted "Mr Prince" to come in LOLGreat chapter!
Response from notsosaintly (Author of Strega Letteraria)
You have no idea how much I was showing at 4-1/2 months. I am 5'2". I started out at 116 pounds before I got pregnant with my second child. If you looked at me from behind, you couldn't tell I was pregnant. And then ... I'd turn around. People would go saucer-eyed.At exactly 5 months, people kept saying, "You're about due, aren't you?" "Oh, not too much longer!" "Boy, you're ready to pop!"It was very frustrating for me, who still had 20 weeks to go. Very frustrating. Now, I'm not picturing Hermione to be like that, but at almost halfway through gestation, yes, you are showing a healthy bump. Only those tall women (who've got lots of space inside their abdoments) or women with some weight manage to hide it well up to that point.
Response from sunny33 (Reviewer)
I was just thinking of when I do antenatal checks on women , the top of the uterus is only at the umbilicus at 20 weeks, so shouldn't be showing that much, however you are right, some women seem to put on weight in that area early, and if you are slim (like you) you will show a bump earlier. You must have been fit to burst by the time you were due! I always laugh though at the paparazzi shots of celebs that supposedly have a baby bump at 3 months... the uterus isn't even above the pelvic brim by then! :)
Response from notsosaintly (Author of Strega Letteraria)
Fit to burst is right. Especially since the little one was 2 weeks overdue and 9 pounds by then and was to big for me to deliver the normal way (though we tried and tried and tried for 22 hours). I put it down to I haven't much room inside and have extra colon on top of that. So really, where is the baby going to go? *lol* It just kills me when I see someone with a tummy bulge that's, oh, about as big as mine is now (I'm 121 lbs now but this is after 2 kids, so it's not flat) and they're caressing it like "Oh, look, I'm going to have a baby." *snort* Yeah, just wait.

Oh, that is so sweet. But is she going to tell Harry?

Isn't that sweet! Really. But, I want to know what's happening outside the room. All those people waiting to see their Hermione, and she asked to see just Mr. Prince. No one knows who he is and he gets first dibs. I want to know if she really is going to 'have everything out.'

*Phew* I am utterly relieved - when I finished reading the previous chapter, I was afraid Draco had not only intended, but also managed to cut the baby from Hermione's womb. Thank heavens, or better thank you, for not letting that happen! That guidance ball of light is a nifty piece of magic - could come in handy in many different situations. Is there any possibility to control the speed, though? Or is it, by chance, powered by the guided person's sense of urgency? That could explain the exuberance of Severus' guide...Yes, well, and they confessed their feelings. *Sigh* Nicely done, with emotion and without kitsch. And we know it's a girl!Well, right now I'm sitting back and stocking up on popcorn - I'm really, really looking forward to seeing Draco getting what he deserves. And he deserves a lot, if you ask me!Thank you for sharing this fascinating story with us!

I'm glad I've managed to keep it interesting. Once the Stranger was revealed, I just went into a slump. I am happy I'm finally at a place where I can relax (with a relationship blooming between Severus and Hermione), and be able to write more excitement.

10 points to your house for the speedy update!!! 10 points to your house for your little bits of created magic (follow the ball to the room). 10 points to your house for the little details that make this story sparkle: self funded medical care. 10 points to your house for nailing Molly’s character “all your purchases are safe dear” And of course another 10 points for the smooch and declarations of love. Now on to the messy parts: Ma & Pa Granger and Daddy Harry.
Response from notsosaintly (Author of Strega Letteraria)
You do know which house you're crediting with all those points, right? *lol*And exactly, the messy parts will be those people. Messy, messy, messy. That will be a challenge to write.

Was SO happy to see a new chapter. Great chapter and love that they have finally admitted their feelings for each other. Have a feeling Draco might still be a problem? What will Harry say when he sees that she's pregnant?? Can't WAIT to read a new chapter (SOON!)
Response from notsosaintly (Author of Strega Letteraria)
Harry. Now THAT is a subject to deal with. Most people saw Harry as very out of character that he did not want to have kids. I believe, but am not sure, that JKR wrote that he always wanted a family and it just followed that he would want to have kids. I chose to approach the other way of thinking, because—well, just because, to mix it up, to show a different possibility, to make the story a little more exciting.Draco, now he needs an adjustment of some sort. Am still deciding WHAT exactly will be adjusted, but I'll get there.

It's nice to see they are OK, I loved the support Hermione recieved from her friends.

Hello! I thought I'd try my hand at some romance instead of some smutty go-get-'im stuff. It's all really foreign territory. But at least I made a couple of you swoon! Cool.
