Years after Voldemort is destroyed, Hermione struggles to have the life she has always wanted. **Note: This story is on haitus. It isn't abandoned; I simply have no idea when it will be continued.

Reviews for Strega Letteraria
Oooh, I'm glad you posted this update on the potter_place list. I hadn't read it yet and happily breezed through it over the last hour and a half.
You're doing a great job with this - I really like this older, wiser Severus.
Is Hermione going to come clean to Harry about the baby? Guess I'll have to wait and find out!!
Response from notsosaintly (Author of Strega Letteraria)
You will have to wait and find out. Can't give away anything. (For all I know, it could even change!) I'm glad you are reading it!
Very good chapter. I loved the Severus/Hermione action. I, like Hermione, can't wait for next week (in the context of the story, in RL, I couldn't really care). As always, you've provided me with a few minutes good read. Thank you.
Response from notsosaintly (Author of Strega Letteraria)
Thanks. I'll be polishing up the next chapter soon, and hope to increase the SS/HG action while I'm at it.
Hmm, so Severus didn't check to verify that she has anti-Apparition wards on the bookshop and the flat above... And then, in his altered physical state, he let the glamour on his voice slip - outdoors where Draco or someone might've heard. I am not totally sure if Hermione knows that the reason she hexed Lucius was due to his using Imperius on her; it really is not reasonable that Draco and Cissa would want revenge on Hermione when it was Lucius' plan, and the AK was against Hermione's will - not just an accident. All that to say, as I read this chapter, I expected Draco or Cissa at any moment to Apparate and kidnap Hermione. Hmm, maybe next chapter... Thanks for updating!
Response from notsosaintly (Author of Strega Letteraria)
On the first two things, Severus assumes Hermione was logical enough to place those wards, without having to check on that. I was playing on her canon characteristics ty doing this, that it would be logical for her to do.
While Severus was in his shop, he did ponder that Draco would be satisfied for the moment, thinking he had suceeded, so there is no imminent danger from Malfoy.
Oh, and he let the glamour on his voice slip on purpose. I might not have made that clear. But they were in the safety of darkness, late at night, when hardly anyone was around and there was no imminent threat from Malfoy. I'm trying to show a bit of attraction between the two of them, and I wanted the reader to feel that Severus wanted her to hear the sound of his voice, to know that it was him beneath the physical glamours (I even wrote that Hermione was sure the slip was intentional), just like she enjoyed hearing his voice.
Hermione of course knew she was under the Imperius. Severus didn't have to tell her that. It is obvious. She has misplaced guilt nonetheless for having not been able to fight it. Also, in the last chapter, Severus did tell her that he noticed that she had the Imperio curse on her and he explained why he believed the AK didn't work.
All in all, the Malfoys were never meant to be nice people in this story. In fact, I see the family as slightly insane, and I've written them that way so far. No one can really say they feel for Draco, and Narcissa ... well, the apple doesn't fall far from the tree. Insane people do not act reasonably. Revenge is very probable when undeserved in their world.
I went back to check if these were in fact things I hadn't addressed, but I was as clear as I could be I think without beating these plot points to death and losing flow.
Response from June W (Reviewer)
Thanks for the thorough response! I suppose I'm just mystified because Hermione is being nicer to Draco and Cissa than I would be in this situation; I tend to be unforgiving to anyone with a potion-laced muffin...
Response from June W (Reviewer)
PS - and yes, the Malfoys are definitely slightly insane! Erm... but does Hermione understand they're insane and need watching?
I missed you! But I have to forgive you since you came back with a great chapter. I felt like I was being welcomed by an old friend.
Response from notsosaintly (Author of Strega Letteraria)
Glad you feel that way. ;)
Response from sinbad (Reviewer)
Is everything OK? I miss your updates.
Glad to see this story continued.
Response from notsosaintly (Author of Strega Letteraria)
Thanks. Glad to finally have this chapter posted.
You kidding me? That was her? OMG i read her book , damn pretty good. I had no idea. what a small world.
Also nice chapter once again and good to see update!
Response from notsosaintly (Author of Strega Letteraria)
They are amazing books. Book three just came out this weekend, as a matter of fact. She also has a yahoo group, called MoITWF
That was a good chapter. I love the details and the developing relationship.
Response from notsosaintly (Author of Strega Letteraria)
Thank you!
I'm hoping you're going to finish this. You are, aren't you?
Response from notsosaintly (Author of Strega Letteraria)
Yes, I am... You aren't the first to ask me. I've been remiss in my writing duties. Or rather fixing the little things I need to before I post it. I promise. This story will continue. And soon.
I Love this story, and I am demanding a update (can I do that). Since I do not want to inhibit the creative process I guess I will try to wait not so patiently for the next update. I love your writing style and this story is brilliant!
Response from notsosaintly (Author of Strega Letteraria)
Thank you. Of course you can demand. I need a kick in the pants every once in a while. I've been itching to do something positive with my time like write.

I love you! I love your story! I love the Sons of Destiny, and didn't even realize you'd snagged the mirror idea, it seemed so natural in both places.
Response from notsosaintly (Author of Strega Letteraria)
It does seem natural to have a mirror system of some sort, doesn't it? And the Sons of Destiny is a wonderful series, isn't it?

I love the Stranger! You kept me in suspense for several chapters, but now I'm feeling better. And What to Expect, etc, is a lovely book. Brings back memories of my own pregnancy. It certainly makes a difference that she loves the father, even as a friend, doesn't it? but what will Harry think if/when he finds out? And what evil has Draco planned?
Response from notsosaintly (Author of Strega Letteraria)
LOL Much has developed, that's for sure. I hope you enjoy reading as it all unfolds.

I love it - the realism you've added with the characters' personalities is just... well it blows me over! Really, I was surprised at Severus' softer side showing but then I remembered that he's Samuel there... I wonder how (or if) he will end up being freed to be himself before you are done. Keep up the great work!
Response from notsosaintly (Author of Strega Letteraria)
I have yet to think on Samuel going "public". Not sure how I will deal with that just yet. But thank you on the comment that you liked the realism I've added. That was indeed my intention, so I'm happy you appreciate it!

ooh, Harry's such a prat! I hope that little girl is his biggest regret and now he has to bear the reality of Severus raising his child! (all the better for her!) This chapter made me so happy, you deal with emotion so well in your writing. I can't wait to see what happens next! Hopefully some Malfoys will finally be put in their place!
Response from notsosaintly (Author of Strega Letteraria)
Yes, I plan on re-filing the Malfoys under a more appropriate designation. But I shan't reveal what that is until the time is right. ;)

Oh, that bit with Sev was so sweet!! Harry, on the other hand -- what a jerk! He can deny that baby all he wants, but if she's born with a set of green eyes, it will be hard to turn his back on her. Brilliant chapter. You're spoiling me.
Response from notsosaintly (Author of Strega Letteraria)
I live to spoil. Gotta spoil someone; my children certainly aren't being spoiled. I need that outlet, you know.

Harry is a complete and total asswipe and I'm glad he won't be involved *sniff*....Love this chapter and can't wait for the rest...
Response from notsosaintly (Author of Strega Letteraria)
Oooh, I'm saving up all of these lovely adjectives for Harry. :) Of course Harry is an asswipe! I want her to get with Severus, not him! Gods forbid.

Gads, I can see why Southern isn't fond of your Harry! It's like he's become the bastard git and Severus has taken over the BFFL roll. Don't like this Harry at all. He's almost as foul as Draco!
Response from notsosaintly (Author of Strega Letteraria)
*shrug* Yeah, some people didn't mind, some people liked him, and some people downright hated him this way. I always said from the beginning that I was going to write as realistically as possible. And, when I thought about it, I just didn't see how Harry could be abused during his formative years (through age 11) and realistically turn out to be a "good" boy with proper morals and instinctively know what was right and wrong. And then ... knowing how guys are, and even taking into account the "in-character" Harry, when they are blindsided with something that upsets them, they say things in the heat of the moment that aren't very nice, aren't able to censor their immediate reaction, and leave to sort things out in their head. I've told other readers it is not entirely impossible that he will beg Hermione's forgiveness for his raunchy response. But ... I'm afraid I can make no apologies for making him this way. (By the way, I have no idea what BFFL is; if you'd like to enlighten me?)
Response from Darque Hart (Reviewer)
Sorry, it's texting ... BFFL = best friend for life.
Response from notsosaintly (Author of Strega Letteraria)
LOL! (See, I know some shortcuts.) I text about as much as I chat. Which is close to none. BFFL. I will remember that. My daughters have taught me OMG already (even the 5-year-old says it) and I know what BFF is. Didn't think of adding an L to it though... Thanks!

Oh, I think your Harry is reacting just the way I imagine he would, if he had chosen to go childless in life. Hermione's reaction to demand a "take it or leave it forever" stance was perfect!
Response from notsosaintly (Author of Strega Letteraria)
Yes, I thought it was pretty realistic, considering he had taken that stance. It upset a couple people, I know. But *shrug* life isn't all roses, not even in fanfiction. And Hermione, even though she knows she's made an error by getting pregnant, is intent on doing the right thing, and I think she's succeeding admirably.
Response from CharmedForce (Reviewer)
I don't think either of them are taking a negative stance. I mean, Harry didn't want children, and unfortunately a one-night stand produced one. Hermione wasn't ready either, and was surprised the pregnancy happened. She is being realistic and practical. This isn't a movie- Ellie isn't going to be happy that Harry and Hermione hooked up, Harry isn't going to get an amicable divorce to be with Hermione and the baby. That doesn't happen in real life.
Response from notsosaintly (Author of Strega Letteraria)
Exactly. This isn't a movie where everything comes out perfect in the end. It was meant to depict reality, and I think I am making a fairly decent attempt anyway. The thing is, in fanfiction, a lot of people want everything to be like the movies, an escape from reality. I hate being predictable though.

Harry is a right bastard, isn't he? I think the little girl will be much happier with Severus as her dad, and he seems to be willing to be a father to her.
Can't wait to see what Severus plans for Draco.
Lovely chapter!

That was quite a reaction from Harry! I think he'll regret it later though. But Hermione's parents seemed really nice.
Response from notsosaintly (Author of Strega Letteraria)
Yeah, I love her parents. I just realized what an extreme that was: from her parents to Harry. Almost shocking.

Death to Draco and a big kick-in-the-butt to Harry! Can hardly wait for the next chapter and I LOVE this Severus

Harry is a right little idiot. I wanted to smack him. I think you're doing really well with the romance angle here :D I remember you saying that it's a departure from what you usually write, and I like it a lot.Hermione's mother is wonderfully meddling.Curious about the hordes of aurors. Glad Snape is going to send Draco to sleep with the fishes, as it were.
Response from notsosaintly (Author of Strega Letteraria)
Sleep with the fishes. *lol* You'll see. I already have a plan. You might not be far from the mark.Yes, the romance angle is difficult for me. I am not, by nature, a romantic. I don't desire it, and if it confronts me, I push it away. I do like tokens of love (I am married, and if my husband brings me roses for our anniversary, I'm happy). Men (well, back then it was boys really) who've tried to be romantic with me didn't last very long, I'm afraid. And they were probably really nice guys too. *shrug* So that's part of the challenge: writing outside of my comfort zone.

I guess Draco would prefer to deal with Aurors...

great chapter ... I can't believe Harry! what an absolute prat! well he will regret it ...
Response from notsosaintly (Author of Strega Letteraria)
Yeah, it will be one of those things when he's fifity years old or so and looking back on his life that he'll have to put on his list of regrets. The beauty of it, though, is that Harry had effectively estranged himself from Ginny and the Weasley family, so Hermione doesn't lose any of their support by this.

Thank you so much for the briliant update!!! I am so happy that Hermione and Severus have confessed their love for eachother, and I have no doubt that being together will make them strong enough to face whatever hassle comming their way:-))As much as I want to kick Harry's ass, and smack his head, I am glad for his reaction, how odd it migth seem. I am glad that he is so stupid that he chose to not aknowlegde his child, that way she will be so much more Hermione and Severus little girl. I am also very happy that Hermione told him that his choice would be final, there would be no regrets and trying to claim fatherhood later on.
I am curious how the revelation of Draco's note to Severus will affect Hermiones statement to the aurors? Will it make her pretend she doesn't know who harmed her? Will they let Draco room frree to be able to hurt her and her baby all over again? I want Draco to pay for his crime! I want him to hurt! I want him to never to be able to hurt Hermione, the baby or Severus ever again!!!
Update again soon:-))

Severus' bit of Legilimency was intended to warn her not to reveal it was Draco, because of course Hermione would not want Mr. Prince's identity to be revealed. There will be justice, however. Never fear!
